I also had this problem sometimes with engineer rifle 4(overcharged shot) which should knockback me and launch the enemy but I had been still at the same place/ position.

Must be lag since a few seconds later I somehow got knocked back from “nothing”. And no animation.

I agree. Glory booster and the 1 crafting item are useless. I get tons more from playing tournaments and the chests.

I really would like to see an option to get more of the Powder item since crafting uses a lot of this… can’t get enough powder to use all the orbs, crystals, slivers.

They should include the powder to the glory vendors so you can buy it from there and add some(10-20) to the dailies and maybe some glory and increase the amount of the other stuff(orb, crystal, sliver) to 5.

And later maybe a rare chance on Arena time token like we already have the rare chance in PvE dailies to get stuff from the gem store.

If you are winning you can do it in tournament. Or if you don’t care about losing(and you rating). Easier there to find points with no enemy there than in an 8 vs. 8 hotzerg.

Bigger teamfights should be avoided. Downstate(with unlimited rallying) and tons of pets and you forget to kill someone and the others rally.

Max 3 vs 3(and that is a lot already especially if there are pets) and the other 2 should go to other places.

This was mentioned somewhere. If the there is no time you need to add a token. If not there’ll be a grace period before the Arena gets deleted. Some dev mentioned it in some post in some thread.

Would be interesting if you could switch between classes without relogging and between let’s say 3 different builds each class. They also should make it that you can play every class even if you have only 5 char slots(and let you create 3 other chars for the other classes but only let them access the Mists and if you want to play PvE or WvW you would need to pay and upgrade the char slot).

sPvP needs to be free or very cheap and the money needs to come from advertising and stuff and getting more attention to the game(and maybe then players that want to try PvE part and buy style items from the gem store).

I think it would help especially in random tournaments a lot if you could switch between classes and builds… if you are good at playing different classes and builds and you play class A and have already too many other players playing class A(which are not good at playing other classes and want to stay class A) then you could switch.

Of course premades won’t have that problem. But premades are only a small part of the playerbase.

Or are the millions of players in other games like LoL all playing as premade teams? I’m sure most is random.

- Show glory rank from the beginning(usually it only shows rank at the end of a match)
-> and maybe later if matchmaking rating somehow gets shown within the client then show this

I think 10 vs. 10 is fun. Lol I even saw one engineer using Mortar elite on Spirit Watch and attacking the Orb area from above.

No… seriously: I think most maps are made for 5 vs. 5. Only Foefire I think is good with 8 vs. 8.
10 vs. 10 would need bigger maps.

But since it’s Custom Arenas it is okay. Nobody forces you to play there if you don’t like it. There’s still the tPvP and some of the usual “server xxx” hotjoin servers.

Only problem is the “unlimited” rallying. Unlimited in regards to everything… no range and no max amount of players.

Down itself is good and needed since there are no healer classes(so you can rezz while someone is downed and not dead yet).

Not working and bugged at the moment. It shows the names of the Custom Arenas and of the other “Server xxx”. But everything 0/20 and if you want to join it says game updated please exit and relaunch the client.

But there is no update.

… even on tournament I just could not join after I solo queued. I hope this is not counting as loss now…

It’s okay. It’s for people that play mostly sPvP only and not for PvE guys that only want to do the PvP dailies because they are faster. That’s why they probably wanted to make them take more time.

We already have the icons with different colors in the PvP info screen(where you see your stats and the circle showing how many matches played by class with classes in different colors and below the small icons hinting which color is showing which class.

Since we have no enemies and no red / green on the minimap it should be okay to just use different colors for the different classes.

Showing icons sounds nice. But drawing? I don’t think there will be much time or people will pay attention. Maybe if you are dead?

I think this fits better into WvW(let players/servers chose their commanders by voting and give the option to draw something on map to commanders and make it also who on the big map you get by pressing “M”).

I remember this from another game(dead game only 100 players are still playing it) where you had teams of 16 vs. 16 fighting and each team 1 commander with rts view and he had enough time to “command” and he also could draw at the mini map.

I agree with the ranking system “bug”. I think that’s why we have the problems that you get often to fight against premads after having solo queued: Not enough people playing… not enough others playing solo queue.

Let’s see whats going to happen after they split the queues: I think it will take forever to play solo queue cause the people only will play in premade teams or will just stop playing cause they are afraid of a leaver on solo queue ruining their rating.

(Hopefully then it will still be possible to play against premades as solo queue team? Would be better than not playing at all or having to wait for hours).

Best would be to make some “unranked matches” working the same way as the 1-match-tournament.

Where you can just queue for fun not for ranking. At the moment there is only the hotjoin(soon the Custom Arenas) which is boring since players can join and leave as they want.

question about respawn time

I don’t know. I think other games I played also have some time that seems to be “random”. I think there is a timer in the backround running between1 and let’s say 20(if it really can be up that high)… would not be random. If you are lucky you die if the timer is at 1.

Maybe it’s like this. Or does someone now other info? I think Custom Arenas have some option for differend respawn timer modes something had been mentioned?

They should tweak the matchmaking a bit so it gives 1 win 1 loss 1 win 1 loss… not 10 wins 10 loss. Since it gets boring if you get 10 times matched against weaker teams and then10 times against stronger teams alwas losing.

Would keep people more motivated… 10 losses of course it makes you rage easier if you start to lose that often.

Greatsword 5 – Rush – it says(according to wiki; haven’t checked myself, I’m not playing a warrior, only using 5 charslots and not playing every class):

“Charge and strike your foe.”

So to me it seems this should be the same as Ride the Lighting. Main intended use to attack and get to a target(and maybe get to someone at low health that is running away from you).

Also he is carrying his heavy armor. This should make him exhausted. And it’s the skill 5… skill with usually the longest cd.

20 seconds really seems a bit low. They also should change this then. At least if he is not using it to target someone(not hitting someone).

If you compare to engineer Jump Shot(Rifle 5) this has range 700 at cd 20… then engineer would also need 1200 range there or even more(it takes some time after landing until you can move again and you need to compensate for this).

But not that they are changing ele I think they should just also change that warrior skill.

I hope so. This will also help you a lot to decide where you should go even without communication. If all guys are at full health and 1 point is contested by 1 of your guys you probably don’t need to run there to help.

Would even be much better if it showed the class icon instead of the green dot and if you could hover with the mouse over the icon to see the name.

Rely on swiftness.

Really… swiftness should be used if you want to move fast. Ride the Lighning: The primary intended use is to move to a target.

Even the skill description says "Ride the lightning to your foe, then strike all nearby foes with an electrical burst. "

and not “move somewhere fast”.

Do they not have “Updraft” which is giving swiftness?

Maybe remove the “blowout” and decrease the cd and increase the swiftness time.

if they want to be fast.

If they don’t want it because they need trait points and slots for other traits or they don’t want to stay in air attunement that long than they don’t need to be fast.

The class is called “elementalist” not “marathon runner”.

Edit: Or another idea: Make it so the Ele gets knocked down for a few seconds if using Ride the Lighting without target.

If I want to use engineer Jump Shot it always take a bit more time before I can move again and I tried Ride the Lightining and it seems like you can almost move again without delay which seems a bit too fast.

Hotjoin is for fun. Totally okay for guilds to play in 1 team and test guild groups and builds(even if it might not help them much doing training against unorganized newbies).

With Custom Arenas I’m sure it won’t be a big problem anymore… most Guilds surely will set up some Guild versus Guild 5 vs. 5 matches in their arenas instead of fighting boring hotjoin…

or just grouping tPvP as guild premade group as they are doing now at the moment.

Isn’t there still the problem that it sometimes does not even show all your team mates at map and ui(health bar and stuff at the top left) if they are too far away? They first should fix this.

Of course then add stuff like “quick text options” maybe with voice commands. Map pinging also sounds like a good idea.

I don’t agree about showing all the enemies that are in combat with you. If some enemy is running away and running around a corner and you can’t even see him anymore then allies also should not be able to see him at the minimap(he might still be in combat with you cause combat needs some time to end… also if he is being hit by your conditions combat will not end).

Now line of sight might be an idea… but I don’t think this will work for Guild Wars 2. A “noob” might not even notice all the enemy players for example being in melee with someone and getting hit by some ranged guy… it should not just display all their positions at the map.

This might work for other games(where it just makes the map like with a fog of war giving every own person from the team a radius they can see and uncover the fog of war) but not for Guild Wars 2.

What is the range of retaliation? If I understand the word correct(I used a translator to translate it to my native language to theck and make sure) it is just that the guy is giving you damage back in return because he received some damage from you?

Shouldn’t it have a range like the range of the auto attack of the person that is using retaliation.

So some melee sword guy can’t hit you back if you shoot him. Would make more sense.

Damage should be the auto attack damage of that guy like receiving 1 auto attack hit(without crit chance and other stuff).

10 vs. 10 is too much zerging I think. Orb alread with 5 players is sometimes zerging.

5 vs. 5 with 2 flags. That would be okay.

10 vs. 10 is better for maps like Foefire(you can have people conquering capture pionts, people attacking the enemy lord and people defending the own lord). Of course if you really want 10 you need bigger maps and with the conquest mode included it is boring.

The guy that asked to report his team(after he lost with only 4 guys… seems 1 has lef at the beginnig already).

I mean this is not LoL or some other crappy game where you can report others for being noob. Also they guy that probably made them lose was the guy that already left.

From 20 to 50 now with like 10+ won matchs(maybe 1 or 2 losses) at Temple of the Silent Storm…

either all the people play better on this map and it is easier to get a better team or it is really only me that made us lose 95 percent of all the matches at Foefire(making me go down to 5) and then Khylo somewhat balanced(a bit more than 50 percent of my matches were wins) making me go up to 20 and now 50 again. Lol.

But I have to say Temple of the Silent Storm really is my favorite map. I like the design and the buffs.

Does someone have a summary? Didn’t want to watch cause my favorite map Temple of the Silent Storm… I need to play it. ;-) To get ranking up which I lost from the other maps before that I didn’t like.

Also rangers… lol how do they get buffed? I think they are pretty annoying already with the right pet and if they are kiting a lot.

10 would be okay. I got to 8 with hotjoin only(only a few tournaments for some of the monthly achievements back then that required 3 tournament match wins).

But 20… this is taking some time. With the touranment 200 additional reward for wins it took me like 10 days playing(and I played a lot). Will take too long with hotjoin only.

People would be bored and instead of getting more players this would make the game die slowly. (All the new ones will stop before reaching 20 and the people).
