What happens if only 1 person uses their money? Then they will lose a lot and others will lose nothing.
I myself am not playing WvW that much and I’m not a PvE farmer and don’t have much gold. Usually I don’t buy sieges or upgrades but in my server(mid-tier) there are always a lot of commanders that seem to have tons of money to use siege weapons and stuff and always other people buying upgrade.
If there were a system to only pay a little bit I think I would use it.
Best would be if there were some “server commander” elected by the players and “taxes”(like 10 percent on events) that generated money for the “server commander” to use on upgrades.
And of course manually it should be possible to only donate a bit.
Most commanders I noticed on Foefire where they ran to the enemy lord at the beginning(probably hoping the whole team would follow them).
Often it worked. Lord got killed and enemy team had all 3 points captured moving to our lord next.
That’s why I hate that map.
It’s fun. I really laughed when I read the first post in this thread. Suggesting to remove downed state OR give every class the same skills.
I mean in WvW it doesn’t matter that much with all the zergs if there are some classes with stronger downed skills.
And downed itself is not the problem – it is necessary because there are no healer classes.
The only problem – and he did NOT mention this: The unlimited rallying. Also in sPvP often discussed: You are downed and just need to do 1-2 hits on some enemy that gets killed and then you can rally… oh and tons of people can rally from ONE person.
That does not make sense. This needs to be removed completely(only downed + bandage or rezzing from others) OR limited: Only the person that did the most damage is allowed to rally(if he is still up nobody will get to rally).
Tons of threads about this topic… and I still have the same opinion:
I like downed but I don’t like the “unlimited rallying”. They could as well remove rally completely making it necessary to bandage yourself(and others helping to rez).
I completed everything and I’m often reading the forums – especially on bigger updates I read the patch notes and discussions.
But I agree…
they have this annoying UI info about the Living Story you can’t disable… and if they force us to display that annoying UI info(I already have a lot of other info there about renown hearts, events and personal story, if I’m playing on an alt that has not completed all hearts and stuff)… they could at least display some date or ask to read the forums to get people to inform themselves.
Or write it in the mail you usually get sent.
Edit: And yes… orange bar is only a timer until the next part of the story starts(in this case the victory bonfires). Does not automatically say(if you don’t know it from other info already) that other stuff will be removed after that.
I mean they also did not remove every month the stuff from the past months… they always added and let past stuff remain until end of the dungeon part.

So the guy that managed to do it with only 2 80s and 3 upscaled players without being wiped at the end bosses must have had a really good team.
I also did this at the first try. But we had like 3 80s and 2 upscaled(but almost 80) and we never wiped except at the end boss… and there like 5+ times until we managed to kite him down. I don’t know which one we tried first… but we changed order and then it worked better… and after there was only 1 it was easy to kite but it took a while.
Also I have to say – since I only wanted the achievement and thought it would not be that hard(I heard the dungeon is harder than other dungeons… but I don’t know myself, never did other dungeons I don’t like dungeons) – I was running with my 2nd char which was around level 70 and had a bit old gear. It was a guardian completely traited at solo dps farming PvE mobs in the open world with greatsword.
That probably did not help the team – since I only wanted the achievement and thought it would be an easy dungeon. I don’t change traits for 1 dungeon and besides… I really don’t know that much about guardian. Running with the same skills since beginning and going to try different stuff once I’m 80(and trying sPvP and WvW then).
Did not want to use my main engineer since he was in Heart of the Mists and I didn’t want to move him to the dungeon area(costs silver for WP or walking time).
And I’m going to to the same every other dungeon available only for a short time… even if it isn’t helping the team that much. I just want the achievement and I can try with different groups and they might all be better than me and I might profiting… but that’s okay. I mean ArenaNet forces you to do the dungon in that short amount of time(instead of making it permanent).
So it is okay to try everything to get the achievement.
Just did it myself which did not take that long. I don’t have money to pay Mesmers… I’d rather buy a 6th char slot and make a Mesmer myself trying to make money this way.
This is a clear exploit and a fast route to getting reported. I don’t recommend it. And you are referring to Temple of the Silent Storm (no water on spirit watch).
Then they should now about it know since a Dev already answered in this thread(but he did not say anything about this).
Let’s wait a week. If it is not fixed in 1 week we can assume it is intended(until they tell us something different).
It’s preventing you from winning… if you are always winning this is a valid strategy if someone does this to help others(even if he only gets 0). Only verbal abuse is bannable.
Canach Trapper, Subdirector NULL Demolitionist, Lair Light-foot, Crazed Karka Queen Killer and Contractually Obligated will only be possible after May 28th? Or is one of these already possible?
All the other stuff should be possible I think. Did everything(except 2 crab tossing still not finished but working at them).
They already did change the Toypokalypse achievement which as not that hard with a working team cause eveyone needed to work together.
Would be strange if they did NOT change thsi achievement which relies on noobness of others.
Might have been easy for some of the players that played a lot on the beginning and figured out how the minigame worked while others were a lot of noobs still there.
But as everyone learns how to play it will be rare to have more than half of the players downed.
Edit: Managed to get it with luck… fear item helped (conch or whatever it is called) also a lot of others were already at low health from fighting and the small exploding karkas and somehow running directly through 2 big ones(evading) and fearing helped to buy me time and get them dead.
but really… too much luck. I was one of the others I would have stayed alive and made it harder for the one carrying the crab.

What if not everyone in the zerg is running after you for crabtacular? I’m in a match just with someone that also needs that achievement and I never run into the zerg… to hard to target. I just wait for the right moment to attack instead of running with all the others after the crab carrier.
Of course I often dodge the big karkas that way.
I managed to win 1 time… but with luck. Pretty hard one you carry the crab cause everyone targets you and there is fishing pole and eggs and stuff and you don’t have unlimited dodge and run skill. I usually can hold to it only a few seconds after I used running 2 dodges and the fear item(I like that but it also can be dodged).
Edit: Also speed traits seem working. Some ele always running much faster even without the skill 3 and manages to stay alive a bit longer.
Mid ranking: 1 karka shell and 1 green item.
Winning: 5 karka shell and 2 green item(masterwork rarity).
Edit: Also last rank I get 1 karka shell and 1 green item.
Seems always 1 karka and 1 green if not winning(then 5 karka shell 2 green).
Edit: Also 5 karka shells 1 green 1 yellow on winning. Maybe a chance on yellow for everyone or only for the 2 at winning.

Anyone knows how long you need to try until you can “win” to get the achievement? Seems a lot of training and playing for hours is necessary.
What’s the max? I know there are at least max 2 possible carrying a crab… cause there were 2 with that icon above their head last time I played. Or was this a bug?
This needs a hotfix. There should be a limit on how much the event can upscale. Too many people nearby and it takes ages cause not everyone is helping. Usually events where you need to collect stuff are 100 times faster.
Clock tower was harder. Took me a few hours of trying. This in less than 1 hour. A bit more people there than usual but still not that hard especially if you have at least 1 speed buff and remember to wait at certain safe positions.
But you still need Dulfy to complete everything if you don’t want to spend hours searching for the stuff especially the samples.
I think also the lag is a problem… they are tons of players at the map and even small mobs – considering they are that strong and stroner than your usual mob – can be a problem with skill lags.
Reef drakes are the most annoying especially in events if they come mixed up with some other mobs(like lots of karka). Doing confusion and pulling you which means tons of CC and you can’t do anything besides watching your health go down and watching the others around dying. They quite often wipe even big groups.
If I take the ship in Lion’s Arch it moves me to the Asura Gate at Southsun. But taking the Asura Gate at Southsun moves me to the Asura Gate at Lion’s Arch.
I think the ship still should ask to take you to the 2 waypoints you could chose from. I know they can be contested at the moment… but you are coming with the ship not using the waypoin.t So it still would make sense if using ship to go to these points would be possible.
I did the puzzle a few weeks ago when I was on a journey to complete all the jumping puzzles(had only a few at the start and didn’t care much about them).
I didn’t think it was that hard. Of course you have to be fast… but I think there are more annoying jumping puzzles in the game. Especially the WvW ones where you have enemies and can die(meaning you need to walk all the long way back… also the puzzles itself are a bit longer at least the big one they moved to a seperate map now).

Then do all the achievements and after that have fun farming the mobs with the buffs you can get(MF or gold buff) or leave the map and do other stuff.
At least that’s what I’m going to do later… haven’t played yesterday and I always only play with guides cause it is faster and I don’t want to spend hours looking for something(which certainly is NOT fun).
I think it’s a poor game mechanic. Pretty boring. And not even “tossing” or is my dictionary wrong? I’m not native english but I thought “toss” meant something like"throw" not “running around with”.
The free for all and zerging make it boring cause there is not much strategy or other stuff possible. If I needed to compare it to Keg Brawl I’d say Keg Brawl is at least 10 times more fun.
I’m glad Crab Toss won’t stay permanently(from the achievements you can say for 100 percent sure that it is only temporarily in game otherwise they would have made an extra achievement category and not put it with the other stuff you can only do temporary).
You’re right, luck is a big part of this. It’s just meant to be a fun achievement though, in a game that’s only been around for a few hours.
Perhaps if it’s truly an issue we’ll change it to something else.
I really think you should think about changing it a bit. I mean… Toypocalypse achievement from Wintersday also got changed…
and I thought it was impossible but just the day after it got changed(so you needed only 1 of the dolyaks alive) I found a team that managed to keep all the 5 alive.
But here it is not with teams. Totally random because it is free for all which makes it harder cause it is less likely that you can talk to all the others and agree to do the achievements in turn to let first 1 get it then let the next get it…
I only bought stuff at 0 gems at the gem store so far… and playing since release(since last stress test before release to be correct). There were at least 2 times town clothes hat items at 0 gems in the story.
Other stuff I don’t need to pay gems or convert gold(I’m not farming much gold cause I play only for fun and to to achievements).
There is loot? So this is like the bell mini game at winterday’s where you could win stuff?
Do you need to win of is it enough to be 2nd and 3rd?
Cause winning seems hard with all that random zerging free for all.
Hotjoin is boring. tPvP you need to wait for your favorite maps…
→ This pretty much makes sPvP boring if you only think tournaments are fun because the leaving and hotjoining in hotjoin is not creating fun matches.
You can’t play it every day and need to wait for the maps you want to play and if there’s another map stop playing for a few days.
But who cares about hotjoin… lol. The Custom Arenas are fail. I don’t think the’ll sell that many. Maybe guilds that use it with the “ready button” setting. But other’s don’t need it – and for dueling you shouldn’t pay. And with hotjoin only mechanics it is boring.
Has anyone tried what happens if you die in the puzzle? I hope they at least made it so you can respawn directly there and don’t have to go back to Lion’s Arch then go back to Battle Grounds and then reenter the puzzle.
I think it could be fun to try to go there just to kill others but only if you can respawn there if you die.
WvW is not 1 vs. 1. Just ask a few more people from your server to play thief too so in the and every server has the same amount of thieves. Then it is balanced.
No nerf required.
Balances issues are more important in sPvP where you only have teams of 5 vs. 5 in tournaments… if you play random and don’t know which other people(and classes) the matchmaker puts in your team. There is still 1-2 minute to relog… but then again not everybody is good at every class and that 1-2 minutes are meant to discuss strategy(but usually there is not much talking and not strategy).
At least Dulfy is fast with guides. With this it should at least be possible to do the stuff a bit faster so I can play the other parts of Guild Wars 2 that are more fun in a few days when I’m finished.
And I’m glad the Crab Toss is only temporary… we don’t need that permanent.
Pretty disappointed with all the crap. Crab toss is bullkitten and they even made the mistake to make an achievement with title so we are forced to play it.

Such a fail. Might be the first time I’m just ignoring all that stuff and doing other things… don’t want to stay the whole next weeks on that map to do all that stuff.
Flame and Frost was better where it only were a few things to do every months.
But there are people who want to play it. From the start already in the other thread people suggested “fixes” to their “map rotation” only tuesday and friday and until now they did not change anything.
How hard can it be to implement some arrow buttons so you can chose the map?
Well, they removed Spirit Watch because some people did not like it and whined. But there are other people that like Spirit Watch but don’t like Kyhlo. So it would only be fair also to remove Kyhlo.
Same for other maps.
Remove all the maps… or leave all the maps.
I think best solution would be if we just could chose the map we want to play(make different queues for each map).
My personal map ranking:
1. Temple of the Silent Storm [different buffs = more different locations you need to cover = more fun, less zerging]
(2. Spirit Watch) [could be improved a little bit]
3. Nifhel [I don’t like the NPCs and kill stealing… still a nice map and better than most of the others]
4. Kyhlo [Trebuchet is annoying and the mid clocktower area, but still playable]
5. Foefire [Too big, needs 8 vs. 8, too many idiots running to enemy lord at the beginning with no communication and letting others cap points, too many zerging in the big mid area – not fun… feels more like a deathmatch and I don’t like deathmatches]
6. Capricorn [don’t know… never played it that much because it isn’t in tournament… but underwater is crappy and there are crappy sharks.
I don’t need 4-6. So bring back Spirit Watch and remove Foefire and Kyhlo… or at least Foefire.
I would prefer if they swapped range of grenades and the rifle. I want the rifle to have 1200 base range(and up to 1500 with trait).
And grenades 1000(1200 with trait).
I play engineer and I agree – the engineer 3 is nice if you manage to have enough time to be able to use it… cause it launches the enemies which also interrupts them while stomping… giving you 2 interrupts on their stomp.
I don’t think Mesmer is that strong… okay 2 teleporting him and creating the clone. Then you just run there and finish him even if he manages to use 3.
And about thief and stealth: Why can you not use it if thief is using stealth? Shouldn’t it just be possible to use 2 without target(if thief is stealthed)? I mean isn’t it just creating that clone and teleporting you? I’m not playing Mesmer… don’t know about this. But shouldn’t it be like this? Not that it requires a target since it is not attacking like for example the 2 of engineer which needs to target because it is attacking the guy trying to finish you.
Thief is okay. I also think some people use stability. They need to use their skills which have cds to get that stability and for engineeer against thief if more people are fighting and you have enough time to use 3 you can use 3 which is aoe-like against the thief I think. Okay Mesmer doesn’t have something like that but it’s not a 1 vs. 1 game.

Regarding the small balance changes:
I think it would be better to make a lot small changes and make them often… not only once a month with a big patch.
Better than big changes where they need time to figure out what to change and then only every few month.
If it’ s only about tweaking some numbers of damage of one skill I would like to see this every 1-2 weeks.

Interesting to see the changes to Spirit Watch rated at 4. But still a lot of people complaining about that map. This can only mean they are on the right way and should not stop here and continue to make some more changes so everybody will be happy.
Too bad only a few people voted on random map rotation for thing 1st to implement. I also voted this but I still would prever if everyone could chose their map with different queues. Maybe I should have voted “new infrastructure” instead and this would better fit?
Future… lol still a lot thinking about esports. I voted the other option that got a lot of votes. Seems more realistic that with “healthy and competitive PvP”.

The map rotation in tournaments also is an issue. I guess they want to keep their fixed rotation(map changes tuesday and friday) because of low player numbers. If you could chose your map it would mean different queues for every map…

Maybe they could also make some “unranked matches” to get more players playing tournament. There might be players not playing tournament because they are afraid of losing rating. And hotjoin is crap. I’m sure a lot would switch to “unranked match”(like the sinlge game tournament without affecting rating). But of course this might affect the sales of Custom Arenas and a reason for ArenaNet not to implement it.
I don’t care if it affects rating or not. But I want to play my favorite maps. I don’t want to be a pro and be good at every map. I want to play my favorite maps every day… and not in hotjoin. Not in a crappy Custom Arena set to 1 map that still alows joining and leaving like in hotjoin and always sends you back to the mists.
Make it so we can chose the map. And maybe show average queue time and give every few days some glory boni to a different map(like tournament winning chest 300 instead of 200 for some days for 1 map). This could get lower queues on 1 map just like it is now with their fixed rotation but you still could play other maps.
I think it does damage to kill you after the temporary rezz. I also heard it was possible to block that damage with some skills so you are rezzed permanently. Don’t know if this has been fixed with the last patch but because they had deleted threads about it it probably wasn’t intened and they already fixed it.
I’m more interested when we can chose the map we want to play in tPvP instead of their fixed map rotation.
I want this for Mesmer and his clones. It’s easy to know which one is the real Mesmer but you still lose time because you need to retarget. But that would ruin his class mechanic. I think the same regarding thief.
So we can’t do anything about it.
Not Temple. Spirit Watch. Because everybody complained – which is okay. But they should at least try some hotfixes and to them fast instead of completely removing it or removing it for 2 weeks.

They need to let us chose the map we want to play in tournaments or at least add some “unranked match” tournaments where we can chose the map(if they want to keep fixed map rotation for tournaments).
Then all the problems would be solved. Would mean longer queue but that is okay. Also you should be able to queue from everywhere in PvE so you can PvE or WvW or do other stuff while waiting. New problem might be appear: People doing some larger PvE event… but they automatically join the map as it is now. Their problem if they can’t finish it. Better to farm normally or gather some resources.
Then the people that like Maps like Spirit Watch could play them(and give feedback so it might get improved so more playrs will like it… better than all the destructive whining which is not helping and giving constructive feedback because everyone is forced and can’t take a break that’s why you start to hate the map).
Other maps that are liked by a lot of players not much will change and they might have shorter queues as well.
More rangers are playing. Didn’t notice anything about more thieves. Only that they die as fast as always. 1 thief without help is not that strong. Only if they are with their team and you can’t focus on them cause you have to fight other people as well.
It’s in the thread about the map rotation. Map rotation until end of May. 4 maps. Repeating the rotation 2 times. Then end of May and maybe next month they’ll return the Spirit Watch map.
Spirit Watch no changes cause it is removed from rotation for whole May. So I don’t think there’ll be changes to this map soon.
It’s fun to see: Everybody crying and they remove the map(Spirit Watch)… and even until end of May it got removed…
Seems they are not very confident in their ability to improve it and we’ll have to wait for at least 1 month before next patch/ update of the map again.
Or maybe they just removed it completely from tournament? Lol. This is a joke lol. I hope soon it will be possible to chose the map we want to play. If they wanto to make it esport they can’t fore you to play the same map for 3-4 days.
Or do you play in games like Starcraft II or Shooters games the same map for days until the game developers allow you to play another map?
Temple is interesting because of that buffs… I bet he lost a lot of matches because of noobs that did not pay attention to the buffs… but buffs are not everything. If they get the buff that caps(cause nobody of your team prevented them from getting it) all 3 points you just have to run to every point. Often more than 1 enemy person is down getting that buff which means you can get the other points fast cause they have less people up there and need to walk back first. Of course if the team are only trying to cap 1 point… then cap next point(like 5 people running to 1 point) then it can’t be helped. You need to go to all 3 points at the same time in this situation.
Also the other buff that doubles the points helps. Capture 1 point and with that buff it equals the other 2 points left still unter enemy control giving you time to get a 2nd one.
