I’ll try it later with my 80 engi which is not full exo yet(I’m not playing focused on gear) and is running glass cannon most of the time(the only thing I can change is the traits won’t buy toughness or vitality gear to play a temporary dungeon). I’m a dungeon noob – don’t even care about the achievements that much(12 possible without dungeon) but I want to see a bit if the story.
I hope it is not that hard… for a temporary dungeon where you can’t train and where new players and upscaled chars also might want to do it to see the story it might not be a good idea if it was too hard(then there should be a permanent version – explo mode that stays after Sky Pirates and gets unlocked at the end).
Well… if the party dies often because of me(noob) then it’s not my faul. ;-) ArenaNet made me go there by making it temporary. Of course I’ll try to get as many achievements as possible – and want to see temporary story/dialogues(at least the basic achievements I want… that kill boss within 15 minutes, don’t get hit by AoE stuff I don’t need).
They want to make money. And since Arenas are only interesting for a small amount of players(guild leaders and people that want them for training – for normal hotjoin nobody would buy this… you can just play on normal servers or on other’s CA) they just set the price high hoping that small amount of people will still buy it(cause they desperately want it for training).
A normal player(like 99 percent of the players) that is not leader of a guild/group does not need CAs – he does need many other improvements they still have not made yet(cause we want to play all the maps in a tournament-like environment and not the hotjoin which sucks – we need queues for every map).
CA not helping here much. It will fail and a lower price wont’t help that much. I would not even use it if they gave it for free to me(since I’m soloing and if I were in a group to train only 1 of us would have to buy it).
Blindness should not affect AOE shouts.

Yeah bugged. Ground targeted AoE should just hit somewhere else the ground nearby but still hitting targets in the AoE range. Point Blank AoE should never miss. Only the directly targeted skills should miss. And only if you need to aim them like a gun or something like that(projectile).

Can you not read? The players voted A. Of course they want to farm WXP and take stuff. Everyone wants to farm WXP. But I would have prefered to farm them at the red keep… instead making deals with them. But it’s easier to say “A”(green keep) when you are already there.

In the end it does not matter that mucch… we made everything blue and when I logged in yesterday afternoon I saw all the WP at our keep and SM lost… seems someone attacked back.

If you do the dugeon then you don’t need this Cache for the meta. I think even without the dungeon and without Blackout Cache 12 out of 19 should be possible if you do all the other stuff(if I understand it correctly the very last achievement where you need to talk to Mai Trin will be available for everyone after the dungeon is removed when she is in prison for a few weeks in LA).

At least the Elixir R got a heavily reduced CD. If you only use it for stunbreaker you can just use one of the other stunbreaker skills. Of course a problem if you used a lot of Elixirs and traited them… but that problem will be the same for other classes where they spread the stunbreakers on different skill gropus. With lower CD it might still be of use… at 45 I don’t think anyone would have used it without the stunbreaker.

I only hate that they let them play the game but don’t let me play it. Can’t do anything than boring PvE bullkitten. Why take WvW not down 2 minutes before the patch? If they can let the others do PvE until 2 minutes before the patch it should also be possible for WvW. A lot of the balance changes and patch stuff affects PvE and still possible to play it…
They should treat everyone equal.
If you are in an instance (this includes dungeons) you have 3 hours before you are kicked out. Non-instanced PVE gets 3 minutes.
They should just kick them within 2-3 minutes. They know about the patch cause it already had been announced a few hours earlier. Their problem if they still go to the dungeon. Also they still play with the old balance stuff then which seems a bit like exploiting to me. They should be forced to reconnect and update the new client as everyone else. No exeptions for the PvE “lets turn our brains off and farm for hours the same dungeon” guys.

I hope they are going to take PvE down soon until the patch is released. I don’t like this bullkitten – can’t play WvW and all the PvE players still can turn off their brains and farm their dungeons repeatedly… but then again… they might get kicked out of the dungeon when 5 minutes earlier they announce the patches. There might be a few that did not see the warning a few hours ealier and I’m sure they are not going to send another 1-2 hours warning cause they already did this. Next warning will be max 5 minutes(I think usually it’s only 1-2 minuets.
Apparently was not a real patch note… when I read I found it was only the same the posted on Guild Wars 2 website… – no real patch notes only that it was mentioned they wanted to change stuff for build diversity.
Should happen in the next 30 minutes. Last weeks content(there was no patch) was already possible at that time.
I don’t think they would wait too long now… wouldn’t make sense. Also they already shut down WvW to prepare for the patch… they can’t just take down a part of the game for 5-6 hours… apparently it is down for some time already. Can’t take long anymore.

I only know the stuff about the new living story content(Atherblades)? Where did she post about balance changes? Can’t find this – at least not on her website.
Also: I hope they are posting the official patch notes soon… waiting is boring and we can’t do anything else at the moment. WvW down… must take longer this time because of actual WvW changes(Mortar skills)… otherwise they wouldn’t have to take it down hours before – few minutes would be enough.

Well… I suggested to take the red keep to farm WXP… but nobody wanted to do this. Then later red took one of our towers while we were busy at the green keep retaking it. Red ported away and apparently they went to our tower which got reported in chat but nobody(including me) read it cause we all wanted to take the green keep again.
And end of the story: Now whole EB is blue and red can start retaking their keep later and upgrade it again(as we had to do with SM which is almost fully upgraded again).
Don’t trust the enemies. Next time red keep from the beginning instead of making stupid deals. ;-) With more people only from red it will be more fun – and with our fun commanders ha ha(Archi still one of the better guys and fun if he is online).

They are a fixed amount of time. I’ve timed solo caps and caps with a zerg of 70+ people (for camps, towers, sentries, and keeps) – they’re all the same no matter how many people are there.
It probably seems shorter when you’re running to one, ‘cause you don’t see the whole capture time, only the portion while you’re in range.
No. Believe me… I asked in the German forums and some pro players answered me. It is faster the more players you have – I always wondered why in towers(where usually the huge zergs are in the circle) it only takes 3 or 4 “ticks”(the bar jumps 1 third or 1 fourth of the bar taking only a few “jumps”).
In the camps where there usually are less people capping it’s only like 10-20 percent. Taking more than 3-4 jumps(more like 6-8).
Agreed. There are tons of other thread… I can’t even find them anymore. Also I’d like the option to be able to choose which transformation I can use.
For 100 laurels there should be a bit more than 5 minutes of a random cat(if you want your preferred cat you need to try often).
Mabe make a merchant that sells for 1 copper different 15 minutes tonics for each cat – and you can only use that merchant if you have bought the 100 laurel endless tonic.

That thread already at the lower half of the suggestion forums – because it does not concern the PvE players(since downed is perfectly fine for PvE – especially with the Rallying… which is a problem in WvW)… and that suggestion forums is mainly used by PvE players.

There are still a lot of players. They are doing WvW, sPvP or the endgame PvE content: Running Fractals everyday of farming the same dungeon. To look for groups they meet in Lion’s Arch… maybe if you are lucky a few are in the Open World maps… but they don’t care about doing other stuff than dungeons so they won’t help you.
Also a few in some regions killing the event bosses for chests. They don’t care about other stuff and only travel there to do the event.
Open World 1-80 maps are usually only done to get the World Completion of you care about that…(or if you want Legendaries). Now if most people only want 1 Legendary for their main and level 2-8 chars(other classes) fasters other ways and never do the whole world again there won’t be much players anymore in these maps. Especially with not that much new players coming to Guild Wars 2(most of new players are at release).

Don’t they also have other skills that are good to AoE on the walls? I mean they are much better they almost can attack the whole wall where even not the Grenades of an engineer can reach.
I think it’s just the way it works… if that stuff comes from above it does not need a line of sight.
I stopped doing it because they removed the 2 Orc minds in there.
They came back with a later patch… at least I can find always 1 normal Orichalcum node and 1 riche Orichalcum node(not working like the usual other rich nodes… still only 3 “hits” but you often get 2 per hit).

That’s easy to answer: A large share of Germans would not play GW2, if there are no german servers, and ANet want the largest European market segement for games. (probably around 300000 sold GW2 more or less
)
Same for French I would guess. (2nd largest market Segment in Europe)
If they had put a bit more thought into this before releasing the game there would not be a problem now. They could just have made PvE home servers and WvW home servers from the start… with German/French PvE servers where also international players could have played WvW(declare the WvW part of that server as international and let the users from other countries play there for WvW but still have them play PvE at another home server).
It would still be possible to do this now… changes would mainly concern the WvW community and the few WvW players of other servers that had to communicate with the already established French/German groups… should work it at least some speak English(maybe commanders that can coordinate).
I think most of the “14 years old”(that don’t speak english) are hardcore PvE dungeon farming "trololol you don’t have full exo don’t join my guild/party) players so it should not be a big problem for WvW.
The problem is that you have to re-queue for EB… if they already have queue(likely if they are a high tiered server) they only can do it at the end of the day before they logout and go to sleep.
They should just make a direct portal in LA – would also prevent others from “stealing” the access by taking all 3 keeps(which makes it even more boring – 0 enemies all the time then – you can’t even open outer wall of a keep and use the portal you have to completely control the keep… this is not necessary).
JP gives blueprints… weaker servers need all the help they can get… makes no sense to have it work the way it is where the stronger server with all the full exo players with tons of gold and perma queue on EB can just take all 3 keeps making the weaker server even more weak(they now can’t even get free blueprints anymore).
You should get credit all the time you kill someone within the event range. Often happens that you have to use all your speed buffs if people run into a tower since it seems only doing damage to the Lord and standing in the circle gives credit?

Since it only affects WvW and we already have guesting they should just totally seperate it and let us freely choose the PvE server we want to play and the WvW server we want to play. Only making WvW server transfer cost a small amount of gems(not that high ridiculous prices you have to pay only for WvW transfer at the moment) to discourage frequently server hopping(also 2-4 weeks limit between transfer).
100 percent balance is not possible. Should not be possible in WvW. But ArenaNet should work to remove huge imbalances… like Vabbi and the other server down there where there is a huge gap between both of them and the next higher ranked server.
(Also can be tried to counter this ingame with different systems already suggested).
I played a lot on red last week as Underworld against a much stronger enemy(Augury Rock). I like red. Easy to move there and one good defendable camp(east like a mine – pangloss in cave where you can place AC).
Now I’m blue… hate this… harder to move around here. Annoying ruins in front of the keep.
I think I prefer red > green > blue.
But the keep of green itself is a bit crappy designed – and if I remember corretcly 2 “open” camps(easily to attack and harder to defend).
Red by far much better than the others.
yes no one ganks there anymore because no one does the puzle anymore . i just dont understand if they intended to make it so the gankers disapear because there is no point. you get maybe 1 fight an hour because only 1 person an hour does the jp.
It depends on the server and the time you are playing. I’m on Underworld. Last matchup when we played against Augury Rock – a higher tiered server that even had lots of people at night… I went into JP and barely anyone of them was there. They must all play on the maps only to controll that stuff and keep their high ranking.
This matchup against lower tiered servers I often see a few people there… at some time also larger groups of 5-6 each server… at spawn or Arena.
What does the confusion fix mean? Hidden “script actions”? Meaning something like if you dodged and have a skill on dodge that then lets you take confutision damage(even though you don’t actually use one of your 1-0 skills)? Will this be removed? Would be nice… cause you often get such stuff as minor trait and can’t even chose wether you want it or not.
Also I like the engineer fixes. I like to use the ram. Sometimes I use rifle 4, big ol bomb, ram and mine(they all give knockback or launch – 4 skills… and fun if CD on ram gets lowered – especially if that stuff is traited).
Downed state is okay – I mean the skills.
But RALLYING (20-30 players throw each a stone while downed on another enemy and he gets killed by somene still up from their team – all rally) – needs to be removed completely… so that downed players need to bandage or need the help of others from their team.
RALLYING is a PvE mechanic carelessly just implemented in WvW and sPvP(might be because of technical issues that they just can’t switch in on and off in different maps because it is linked to the downed system and can’t be seperated easily).
Downed State is in dire need of a serious balancing pass. Imo, in sPvP and WvW all downed states should be normalized, meaning the same set of skills for every professions.
Acutally they could just make it so everyone played the same class(not only downed skills the same but all the skills – also the same build – then they would not have to worry about balancing that much).
They should just continue to balance around PvE as they always did. PvE is making them the most money. I mean even WvW is not played by that many players…
there are only about 30 servers each region. 60 servers total. 4 maps and every server can send about 100 players to each map – then queue.
That means about 24000 can play at the same time. And it’s not even queue all the time.
Compared to the thousands of players online at that server doing PvE it is only a small amount.
If WvW really was played by a lot of players then in WvW you’d need different instances of each of the maps because in every matchup every server would have thousands of players that want to play at the same time (like 1200 of each server want to play at the same time and you have 4 maps… 3 instances of each of the maps each 100 players per server).
But we still have servers without queue…
This thread reminds me… I heard you can get ascended items from rank chests too? But must be very rare.
Then this exploit should be fixed. Dead people should not be able to change the armor. They should respawn and to it at the waypoint.
Just a new idea that came to my mind: We already had the suggestion to let more than 1 player pay for the upgrades.
Now we have often people using the supplies from a keep/towers while it is attacked to repair and others don’t want this.
First we need to make an option for Guilds that claimed to have more control over the supply.
Then it should be possible to make it cost money to take away supply from towrs or keeps(Guilds should be able to change settings affecting this). Even a small guild would be enough – 1 man guild just to claim… and now if that 1 guy can’t buy all the upgrades himself the building gets money that can be used. Could be higher cost the lower the amount of stuff is left to encourage having some safe supplies left and not taking everything…
of course it could be used to grief if really the resources are needed and someone still enables that you have to pay – but the amount of payments could be capped and not cost anything anymore if there is enough to buy all the remaining upgrades(meaning 0 money in the building if fully upgraded and it can’t take any more money for supplies).

If this table is correct then you get Agony Resistance and a bit more of the base stats from Ascended gear.
Only affecting Trinkets and Jewels – and Ascended seem to have a much better base value and less from Trinkets(infusions = trinkets and mainly for Agony Resistance and not much stats?)
Total values show the difference. about 90 in 1 main stat. And 30 in 2 minor stats(or like a few percent if you use stuff like crit). In 1 vs. 1 it might make a difference… but WvW is not 1 vs. 1.
I have seen this a few times on our own supply camps we managed to defend. Enemies kill the Supervisor and then get in the circle and the bar increases… almost until it is full. We manage to kill them and res the Supervisor.
Shouldn’t the bar reset? Isn’t this bugged? I mean it stays as it is… which would mean they only needed a 2nd attack and then like 1 second to fully capture it.
Also suggestion: Make the 5 min timer reappear after ressing Supervisor(and same for Lords in towers, keeps). Would give the defender some time and increase the value of tactics cause just zerging the defenders until they give up would not work – they can take could take a rest for a few minutes and return refreshed making it easier for them to continue fighting against an overwhelming force(especially for weaker servers).
What is the timer at the moment? Like 15 minutes if I remember corretly until you get kicked for inactivity, is this corret?
At least I was dead in EB JP one time and got kicked then… while waiting for rez and I thought “posting in chat” was activity… but apparently you need to move which is not possible while dead.
Yeah. Could be lowered. 5 minutes would be okay. At least there vision should be limited very early – to prevent “run, die, spy” gameplay. Where a small few selected players can run to all important key locations… die there… and know the movement of the whole enemy server. Especially annoying if defending and 1 lies dead for long time in your lord room reporting all your defending sieges to his team.
As someone above mentioned: Limiting the numbers of players only to fix skill lags. If you want balanced numers play sPvP.
The only think I think they could do in WvW is changing how the points tick.
Now at the moment we have a rating system that makes it possible to gain rating with much less points than your enemy if you a lower rating(you don’t need to to that much to get + rating).
But this is not shown in game. Not a real incentive to fight. The players see: zomfg they pwn us 300k to 150k points we lose… leaving WvW making the own server even weaker.
If they transfered that problem – which is solved by the rating at the moment – into the game… it would be much better. Just let the the server with less players get more points per tick(of course with some caps – the server with more players should still have an advantage but not “unlimited”).
Let’s say we have 1 map for example which has objectives worth of 90. Each team can have 100 players.
1 team has 50. 2 others have 100 players on that map. 250 players in total.
The team with 50 should be able to hold stuff worth 18 points. The teams with 100 should be able to hold stuff worth 36 points.
Now give the team with 50 players 1.5 times the amount of points. They would get 27 then – smaller difference between 36 and 18… but still a differene so the bigger team could have an advantage.
And if the smaller team gets even more than their 18 base points they must be better in skill and coordination so it is okay to still get 1.5 times the amount of points for every objective.
This only as an example… but it should work like this. Different tiers of multipliers to the amount of points you tick with. And to prevent abuse there needs to be a timer so there can’t just leave 50 people then rejoin then leave… just to get more points but effectively being able to play at full strength.
I think he is pretty strong 1 vs. 1 especially with the different behaviour of crits in WvW than in sPvP(I think there are different caps in sPvP?) – but that 1 vs x videos in Youtube… players that don’t know how to teamplay in small groups because they are only used to zergs…
2 or more people should not have a problem with 1 thief if they work together – and with “working together” I don’t mean:
A fighting with the thief… B coming to help… thief running away and a lot of stealth so you don’t know his position. B running back to bigger group. A stupid as he is: trying to seach the thief running even more away from the bigger group… getting killed. Instead of staying with A.
People are to focused on killing the thief and let the thief lure themselves away from the main group… easy targets then. I had last time on my matchup 1 thief on our side of SM in EB(between our keep and our SM gate) – looking for dolyaks to kill.
And of course I know: This guy must have good equip and skill otherwise he would not do this. So as average player with glass cannon equip I don’t run after him. Instead I stay at the road with 1 other guy waiting… if he wants the Dolyaks he needs to attack. He is at disadvantage then(I have good skills if he attacks and if he does not manage to kill me fast which can only happen if I’m 1 vs. 1 and he gets the first hits and then gets away/stealth fast so I can’t counter).
Yes… we need to wait all the time near these dolyaks then instead of killing him fast and then go away… but: If we killed him and went away just others could already be on their way and kill the dolyaks. So no problem staying there.
I only started doing it when they moved it to it’s own map. Getting better and faster every day. I don’t use the fountains because there are not many enemies. And in Dark Room it does not help that much if you can’t use a torch cause of the invisibility buff.
The problem is that it make you focus in playing 1 char even more(we also alraedy have the stuff like WXP char based and the Commander being char based).
I mean… that many laurels to get all the stuff? And the Ascended items have better stat and WvW is PvP(with a bit PvE content)… so you want to be better and have better gear to be able to fight against all the PvE players that farmed the best gear before going to WvW.
You want that Ascended stuff… but having it on all chars will take time.
Then again – the PvE players also make more money and have it easier to get all their exos. But the problem is not that big there – because you can just do some PvE too… if you wanted. Laurels you can’t just to more than 1 set of dailies a day… always only 1 laurel/1 day.
On the other hand…. if everyone played also PvE would it not be cheaper then for the WvW players? Yeah we would be forced to to PvE stuff… but then it would be cheaper than a PvE only player(if he did not also do WvW)…

The only stuff you need laurels is the Amulet? Is this correct? Rings and other stuff you could get from doing PvE stuff like Fractals and Guild stuff with the commendations.
I’m happy rifle is not getting “changed”. I use it a lot. My prefered weapon even though I try to use more kits I still switch to the rifle. I like it for the immobilize and knockback and also because of the jump shot. Therefore I like that leaked patch notes.
Also WvW I did not like the Supply Crate that much – often got AOEd down too fast. Hoping the trait fix for Elite will increase the range more than the usual 1500 max range…(other wise I’ll just stay with grenades). Also I used Elixir X a bit in WvW even though it is random. With CD reduced and traits… nice I like it. Would make it possible to almost tune it so you can use it… stay out of transformation after a full use and then only about a bit more than 60 sec CD left.
New Grandmaster Trait… per unique condition type or per stack? Imagine 2 conditions with 25 stacks lol… and then per stack(PvE it’s not unsuauall that high stack size at some huge champions).
Stun Breaker Super Speed seems interesting – cause I like that skill because of the additional speed.
Also I love the Battering Ram CD reduce… they are gonna be more people complaining about CC wanting a “Diminishing returns on CD” when I’m using me Rifle 4, Big Ol Bomg, Battering Ram AND Mine… lol.
Cool. I continue to use Rifle skill 4 AND Big Ol Bomb AND Mine AND Battering Ram… now even more fun with Battering Ram CD reduced for Engineer.
