Well that would be the problem of those players that spend all the money. At least the craftable stuff could return(not stuff only exclusive from chests but the things you need to get like 100 nougat or plastic fang or stuff like that for the recipe).
Also if the other stuff returned: If the drop rates are really that low(and stay that low) it will still be expensive for others to get it. So it is not that it gets cheaper and the other paid too much.
I think Act 1 was late afternoon or evening US time at day mentioned on the page and in EU it was later and because of different times it could have been 1:00 am or 2:00 am of the next day(same time the daily achievements reset). Maybe it is the same for Act 2 and Act 4 since there is nothing different mentioned. And only Act 3 a specific time which is different.
Edit: And I think there might be 1 or 2 more things available for the achievements. Maybe the “halloween events”(since the small events near doors where groups of mobs spawned or veterans did not count for this) and one of the other achievements maybe a quest following the Scavenger Hunt. Should be fast to complete.
Act 3 might be the party(at the start for “attend the party”). Clocktower maybe last at Act 4?

I don’t know… but that is how it is. I saw this after release with some skill challenges that should have been easy to fix… but took forever and they fixed other stuff. Might also be because they have other priorities.

Of course it is not okay. But the game is new. I think they will have fixed it until next year’s halloween event. ;-) You should not expect them to fix it the time this event is still live. Usually it takes a few weeks to fix such complicated bugs.
I think monthly is lower with coins… can’t remember the last 2 ones and still need to complete this one. But I think it is more important because of the other rewards: The coins you get and I heard this time you get some jugs of karma. (10 each 4500 karma for a total of 45000 karma and you can use boosters to increase it).
I think halloween event was “okay”. It’s not that I need events – I usually prefer to have no events because the game already should be enough fun to play without the events. Also events usually make you play the game a lot during event time – even if you don’t have that much time you need to force yourself to play if you don’t want to miss stuff.
Unfortunatle that’s how it works for a lot of player. Some psychological effects… that make us want to complete everything. A bit annoying sometimes.
But I think it was a bit fun to collect that candy corn and to the Scavenger Hunt. Also the achievemets seem completable. This is enough for me and I don’t need to start whining.
Costume Brawl seems okay… not that much fun as Keg Brawl. But that achievement is at another tab and probably completable later. So I just don’t worry about it now.
And the skins and crafting stuff… there is enough other stuff in the game. As long as there is no achievement that I “must” get(because I want everything) it is fine for me. Don’t like halloween looking stuff that much and I think I can just get other skins that look much better and fit better in a fantasy world.
I just got the buyable recipes for karma here to make my recipe list bigger and maybe I try to get one of the expensive recipes where you need to buy elonian wine and 100 crafing mats… but not crafting it or getting the other stuff(especially not the discoverable stuff… would need too much time and mats).
And not buying anything from gem store. Costumes: There will be other ones looking better in the future… Only thing that could be interesting: The minis if they are not going to return next year halloween and you want to fill all the slots in your bank but that might be impossible… I think there were other exclusive ones at that last tab you can’t get and only some special persons get.
They could just bring the old skins and then add a few new skins as well. Then people could decide what to get. Of course the people that already had farmed to get one of the older skins will have it easier to get old AND new skins.
Would be the best solution. Then nobody needs to cry because they did not have enough time this year and still can get the stuff from this year in next year.
I’m still experiencing this bug. Only in WvW. But what the others say might be true. I think I remember it one time in PvE at a bigger event. Must be because with the lots of players (sometimes at bigger events and very often at WvW if 2 zergs fight each other) lots of sound is generated and this probably is causing some trouble for the sound device or for the drivers.
I even had the client crash one time(not reacting anymore and I had to kill the process). Fortunately I don’t like WvW that much and only trying to get the monthly kills for the achievement.
I have onboard sound. Does it really help to turn down the sound quality settings? I might try this. Sound quality usually I don’t hear that much difference.
This seems a lot. So instead of just farming 250 candy corn and 100 of the special crafting item we need now 2500 candy corn(more candy corn because of the sigils) and 25 skulls, 25 nougats and 25 fangs for the recipe?
Getting that skulls, nougats and fangs seems a pain… but fortunately they area buyable at trading post. If you are planning to get such a weapon you probably have enough money ore are planning to farm more money. Should not be a problem.
I know there are customized trick or treat bags at some scan locations that could help here too… but I think its boring to do that.
More fun to explore the world and try to kill mobs. Also there are nodes to farm candy corn. While this is much more to farm it seems more easy… if you play enough – if not the price there is much cheaper than for the other materials.
What I don’t like is the Eldritch Scroll requirement. I want to save my skill points for other stuff. ;-) But then again I don’t think I need that skin. Probably only going for achievements and the recipe but not going to craft the weapon(only to have a bigger recipe list lol).
Wow. That rare halloween crafting materials really are rare. Good that they are at the trading post for a bit more than 1 silver. I’m not getting the discovery recipes… would need to much stuff to farm to discover all of them. Bought the karma ones. And may buying 100 of one of that rare materials at trading post for one of the skin recipes. Already have a lot of candy corn(easy to farm) and getting the other expensive stuff that is ingame all the time later then.
I want a plastic spider turret for my engineer. Shooting exploding plastic spiders.
Costume brawl seems like they could leave it and just add more costumes that are sold at other events at the year only(like christmas)… and then the halloween ones next year again.
Pumpkin stuff seems like they could leave this and offer the same achievement again next year. Maybe some events like the Scavenger Hunt seem more like something that could get changed – to make it still interesting next year for people that have completed it this year. Like stuff giving same achievements but a bit different in gameplay or other events that lead to that achievement. (Or maybe same halloween title – only 1 title and not every year a new one – and different sub achievements connected to different events).
Will there be the same next year? Or is it planned to make different events and different achievements?
I think it would be best if the events and achievements stayed the same. So everyone could complete everything and people that don’t have that much time this year can get their achievements next year. People who already completed them this year still can farm more of the halloween only items and do crafting.
One time event would be a bad strategy. Would be boring because it would have to be an event without achievement. And I think the final event should add to the achievements. Which means everyone should have a chance to complete it… meaning not only 1 time. Every 3 hours like someone already mentioned would be a good idea.
I hope this is only one time. Not everyone completed everything at the first they. Would be hard for some people to complete everything if they think they can take their time but then in the end realize that everyday the counter got increased and they would have needed to play every day… and then are out of time.
Lol. I’m not buying a mouse just to play one game. ;-) But rebinding keys sounds good. But I don’t think there is a way to rebind keys per character? I would prefer to have different key bindings on each char then rebinding would be more fun. Especially with the F1-F4(for the skills I could just change the skill order to change the key positions a bit).
I don’t think I’ll play more than 100 hours. Only until level 40 to now to play priory quest for the unlock at login screen.
Then trying next class. I don’t think I want to try champions or veterans with 4-5 adds. Thats more something I’d like to try with guardian. Too much running around is a pain. As long as I can do 1 veteran with maybe 2 additional mobs or 3-4 normal mobs it is okay. Seems not that hard now that I tried a bit with elementals… and still need to unlock traits.
I heard a lot of people said the first levels were harder… but probably this is for a lot of classes since you don’t have traits and they start to make you really powerful(and make the game interesting in my opinion… only skills and it would be boring).
I have opened a few doors. Played my new elementalist in Metrica Province first and then later I decided to play a bit my lvl 42 guardian and went to Gendarran Fields. It really seems that the doors are only in Kryta? In Metrica Province I have not seen 1 door.
But no events. I think the events have to be stuff that showas as event with the orange text? Maybe this will only be possible at Act II? At least for me the doors were just doors without an event and some smaller mobs that seemed to have a higher drop rate for trick or treat bags or other haloween crafting stuff(that drops random from other mobs in the world but much more rare there… at least I found bags from other mobs and got crafting stuff from bags).
I tried a bit with double daggers now. And with elementals too. Not that bad. Also I went after completing the asura starter area to the sylvari starter area because it is nearby. Being downscaled and still a bit higher than the mobs in the area it is okay now. Will try back to go same level after I completed the Caledon Forest. 15-25 zone should reach higher mobs after some time that are same level again. I think I will go for elementals and maybe other AoE as utility skills and try a bit that way.
Extinguishing the fires in the asuran story mission “Where Credit is Due” is a pain. I thought it was bugged first. But after a lot of tries I managed to extinguish one and then later a 2nd of the 3 fires. Still trying the 3rd.
Not exactly a bug… seems possible after all. But it could be made easier. I remember some renown hearts where you need to wake up sleeping guys with a bucket of water and it easily recognizes the water even if the animation does not seem to hit.
Here it is really hard. Can’t be that you need 100 tries for 1 fire. Needs definitely a fix.
Edit: Was a bit lucky with the last. I just alt-tabbed into the game after writing this post and was standing a bit more far away and tried. It seems you need to be more far away? Strange. It makes a bit sense because no one would walk into a burning fire. But on the other hand if you are already there nearby the fire the water still should hit and not being needed to go back a few steps.

I have engineer level 80 now and a guardian level 40(played until I finished the first order quest line to unlock the next thing at the char selection screen). So far I liked the engineer. A bit slow with doing damage but I never had a problem with staying alive(and I know there are a lot of builds for good damage too but I like the way I am playing him now). Guardian good at staying alive and good at damaging too. Also damaging more than 1 mob and good at farming fast.
But now I tried elementalist… thought it was supposed to be a big damage dealer and easy to farm with that class. But seems a bit harder to me. Good damage and the staff has some nice AoE with good damage but usually the mobs move to attack you(if you solo and I like to solo a lot and go only with others for the events where usually lots of people are at one place). So mobs usually move out of the AoE if you are not placing it at your location and stay melee.
I died more often than with the other 2 classes I tried. Any recommendations? I tried a bit scepter and dagger. Feels a bit than staff.
What traits? Still need to unlock more traits and and skills. Only level 13 at the moment and don’ t know which skills to chose. And if possible I want to play without having to change the attunements every few seconds… too much inconvenience… the other classes were possible without swapping weapons and staying in one weapon(and engineer without kits).
Is there any way to play like this and lets say take 2 or 3 mobs at the same time without needing to swap attunements every few seconds and without going downed every time? Or wrong class and only for pros and should I go and try one of the other light armor classes. In some other threads I think people said necromancer was better? (With the minions he should have better survivability?)
What about events? What about that event in Lion’s Arch near the NPC that starts the Scavenger Hunt? Is it possible to finish that event? At least here on my server it seems stuck and the bar is not progressing(Paranormal Disturbance Zone).

I mainly want the achievements(going for the ones that need to be done during event first) and as much items stuff(if it is usable after event) you can get through playing without buying anything from trading post.

So it is the same time the daily achievements reset(and monthlies)? Past midnight to the next day in Europe and evening in US. Yeah. Should be same time then.
But then it should be mentioned if you announce such an event. I did not see anything about time. Only mentioned which day and the timezone and I thought it would start at the very beginning of 22th in US… which would be early morning Europe then with a few hours later time zone here.
I just continued to play my 2nd char – the guardian… after taking a longer break after leveling engineer to 80. Now at 40 and asking myself which traits I should chose. Will start 3rd char first to join the last order for the char selection screen medal and then continue guardian.
So far I liked it. Feels much more like a “farm char” than engineer and fun to fight groups of smaller mobs. Playing greatsword at the moment.
The symbol of the greatsword seems interesting and the greatsword itself and that healing trait maybe(also that first trait line has stuff for spirit weapons, I sometimes use the hammer… for knockdown).
Started to like virtures when I got that elite skill that resets the cd on them. 10 on virtues for that additional effects and it is making the Master of Consecrations possible. They seem interesting especially for group playing.
Is it okay to go 30 Zeal(great sword healing trait and maybe one for the spirit weapon to be not destroyed after commanded), 30 Honor(symbols larger, 2h-weapon cd redude by 20 percent for greatsword and maybe longer symbol or healing symbol as last), 10 Virtues(master of consecrations)?

Wiki says 20 percent cooldown reduction. This is working correct for me. Also tooltips updated correctly.
But what about the duration? Wiki says 50 percent longer. Tooltips do not update and to me it felt a bit like 20 percent longer(and someone tried to set it to 20 at the wiki and someone else later changed it back to 50).
It is not 50? Or should it be 50 percent? Then it would be bugged. But that stuff seems strong… probably 50 would be too much.

The most annoying ones are the “You must visit more often” NPCs. A lot of norn use this line. Also the “Looking for a challenge” is annoying. I hate this. In the Lion’s Arch crafting area somewhere there seem to be NPCs that always say “Looking for a challenge” if you just want to to some cooking discovery. I mean there is no skill challenge? This should be for skill challenge norn NPCs.
Please remove the talking at crafting areas or other areas where players need to be for a long time.
Other than that it is fine since you usually are moving through the other areas and not staying long there.
Edit or it was “Up for a challenge”. Have not been there for some time. But was something with challenge they were saying all the time.

I agree with the double tap to dodge. This was killing me often. But I like to use it in fights. Only disabling it during jumping puzzles. I wished there was a button to toggle this instead of having to go to the menu every time.
Jumping puzzles are much harder than vistas.
Vistas are easy to reach. Most of them. The ones a bit harder are usually the ones where a jumping puzzle is nearby – usually the easiest of the jumping puzzles in the game.
For example one in the ice area(Shiverpeaks somewhere). And one in Orr… that tower. Was surprised to get a jumping puzzle achievemen there when I had not even been up completely(a little bit lower and a few jumps still to do). Harder than other vistas. But easier than other jumping puzzles because “only” jumping. No things throwing you down like wind blowing or monsters killing you or a labyrinth with a hard to find way.
The only vistas hard to reach are the ones where you can’t find the way. Sometimes very easy and nearby. Often a bit more far away – I got used to this and walked far away very early.
But a few start very far away. For example in the 2nd Orr zone is one I think west of the mid cathedral… that was hard. Even with asking not easy. Video needed. But there are a lot of videos at YouTube. Easy then.
Mesmer can use portals to get in keeps in WvW. And it is allowed. So why should be using as skill like intended as engineer be an exploit? Escecially with the high cooldown mentiond and it not being easy to make it work(die exactly in the range of the elixir and throw it in before you die). Seems not like an exploit.
Yeah. But the title “Been there, done that.” is account wide. For the star it is a good idea. It will also give you some more items for legendary weapons(lol if you even get enough stuff farmed to make ONE) and for some other achievements I think it is counting account wide – like for example for the renown hearts and the skill challenges(skillfull). Still not at the highest tier there but will probably 1000.
So you need 5 chars and each completing 200 skill challenges. Probably a good idea to just complete everything else and complete all the maps with all the 5 chars on your account on the free char slots.
But I’ll just play my 2nd char to 40 only now to unlock the vigil banner in account medals section and then the 3rd char for the priory. Then 4th and 5th up to 30 until elite slot unlock.
Then after that I’ll decide which one to take to complete everything next(or go to 80 with all of them first then complete all maps).
I want only to accept mails from people that I have added to my friend list. With only space for 10 mails and everyone being able to send me mails it is just impossible to let the system stay like this.
Also what happens if your mailbox is full? I hope it will correctly show to the other people trying to send more that you can’t receive more mail – else items could get lost(if it just sends but the mail disappears or if it overwrites older mail and you have not checked everything and still items in the oldest mail left). There could always happen some bugs.
Then the contact list: Afaik friends are people you added but you don’t know if they have added you too? And followers are people that have added you but you don’t have added them?
I think we should remove this. I want a friend list where you have to accept each other. Click yes or no to allow the other to add you to his list and add him to your list. Or change it a bit and allow others to add you but show them no info about your online status. It should by default no info being shown to people that add you if you not add them and allow them to see. No info on location or achievement points. No account name… for people that just add your char to see the account name.
Blocked list is fine as it is just also needs to remove the info. I have people blocked. I’m sure they don’t want me to know about their online status…
Don’t know how the looking for group list works. Never tried it. Does it only show the people from your list that set the status too lfg(i think with the blue square it was) to make it easier to find them if you have a big list?
I just read in the german forums that gold sellers are now sending 1 copper with their mail. Have not received such a mail yet. But as we all know these mails can’t be deleted. You need to take the copper first or send the mail back to the sender.
And we probably all are used to just take the money. It happens without thinking. All the hundreds of renown hearts where you receive your mail and have to take the money first and then delete the mail. I bet a lot of people will take the 1 copper.
I hope we will not get banned. They could say we made a transaction with a gold seller and not checking the amount first to see that it was only 1 copper.
Did not know this because I have not played that much WvW. Only in the beginning when it changed every day for the monthly achievement and the map completion. I always thought in changes you every new match that you started at all the 3 locations after playing 3 matches.
Maybe they should make it really changes like this. And keep track on how often you started at one position and when you started there the last time.
If in the next match 2 or more servers already played the last 2 matches at let’s say A and B they both would have to start at C now and it needs to be randomly decided between them. Or something like that. And maybe taking into account the total amount thes started at one location.

Only tried 1 time yesterday because the other one updated I thought the medal was still bugged. Did not think about trying it again because I am not playing at the moment. After all that hard “work” with completing everything I need a break and WvW and sPvP seem not that interesting to me. At least not at the moment.
Continuing to play my 2nd char for the other parts of the story and joining the other orders in the next days…
I think its is okay. Valid tactic. Should not be changed, right? People even think mesmer portaling into a keep is okay. So this should be okay too. Just kill all the people then they can’t repair the wall. They need to get there first. With the tons of AoE going there usually… even with wall up hard to repair because AoE from outside going through the wall lol.
Yeah. Title and char info at the char selection screen are at 100%(needed to login to the char 1 time first to make it update). Now only the account medal is missing for me. Still at 97%. All other stuff related to world completion and area disvoveries working and maxed.
Omg the mangocheesecake guy with his girlish writing style is trying to recruit nice european people to join the NA servers? Lol. Do not want. In fact they should restrict access by IP to prevent the french canadians from playing on french EU servers at night and give them a french NA server.
in order for a mesmer to be effective going through walls in wvw, it is an error on the opposing team for letting him stay in there (bad playing by not killing him).
If you let him get the repair kit it is bad playing by not killing him too.

I think it is intended. Did you play WvW or read threads about mesmer in WvW? They even can bypass the walls of keeps with their portals and some people keep telling us that the devs even came up with that idea in one of their videos. And no fix. So probably intended?
Then if this is intended something minor like porting while holding repair kit is probably intended too. Especially if you consider that it is not about tons of people like in WvW. Only about a repair kit and it makes more sense to be allowed to carry stuff through portals than bypass the whole WvW mechanics with walls.
I agree. Making the winning team even stronger is just wrong. This is making or more boring for everyone. I mean a lot of peole will still like it to be even stronger – the ones farming badges and camping in front of the others starting areas while others are outmanned and everything taken by the attackers. But for people that want to play for fun it is boring.
If they let it stay like this they should at least make a “win” if some server is pwning the others really hard and controlling all the 3 orbs and most of the keeps and towers and camps. Then just say “they won”. Give them a win on some stats page and restart. If they win again within the 7 days then give them another win and restart again.
Or make it really possible for others to fight back and remove the orbs completely and give the people defending buffs. Idea with badges would be nice too. Outmanned = others get NO badges at all would be nice. Badges farming in front of the spawn camps while others are outmanned is just boring.
I see this at my server at the moment where Eternal Battlegrounds and our homeland border is queue. Because everyone wants Eternal Battlegrounds and at our homeland zone we still have a bit advantage. Never had a queue on the other borderlands because we are always outmanned there and nobody wants to play there if 50 enemies are in front of our spawn camp there farming some badges and preventing everyone from doing anything in that zone. They could just say that this server won the zone and give them 1 win on some stats page and disable the zone because nobody needs to play there anymore. Lol.
Bad answer from the support. If someone from your own server is spying for the enemy this should not be allowed. If they are with the enemy they should be on the enemy server and sneak into your base to tell them the position of the enemy. Not changing servers randomly.
My idea: There should be at least 1 Dolyak arriving every X minutes at a captured keep or tower. Else the walls and gates will get debuff and take 100 percent more damage. Or something like that. Should be seperated from the supply inside and take effect even if there is still supply left. Maybe like some different imaginary supply instead of the building stuff you have for the upgrade. Think of it like food for the workers that stopped maintaining the walls now.
Also if no supply camp is held at all every repairs should be disabled. Not possible to repair.
They should at least hold 1 supply camp somwhere AND have supplies at the location they want to repair. And they should get Dolyaks moving there constantly or else the gates and stuff will take more damage(only locations affected where Dolyaks arrive/ not arrive).
OR: maybe make upgrades constantly use up supplies. Not only to repair but to maintain. Otherwisee automatically damaged… in this order: the upgrades first. If they are at 0 should still be repairable if people manually get supplies there(and if the supplies are > 0 in the keep/tower). After that upgrades all at 0 let take towers and gates damage. Randomly between all the parts to not make one part go to 0 to fast and make it too easy to attack.

I don’t even think it is worth to buy the upgrades since you can lose everything during the night. If your people need to sleep 4-5 enemies can just capture everything. Not worth capturing. I think it is more worth to go just for kills to get Badges until there are some real rewards for holding the keeps. Small percentage increase of something from the mist boni seem not that interesting too me.
And of course there will always be incentive to save money especially for people that are not only playing WvW but want the legendary weapon too and just let others build the siege and run with them to get some kills for badges and other stuff.
I think it should ONLY depend on supplies… but much more supplies. And the money from outside WvW should be removed in WvW completely. Like no silver rewards anymore at events. No armor damage(= no repair and no silver cost there). And sieges only costing supplies. More supplies to make more incentive to defend the supplies. Of course only people that play for fun will be there. So it is even better for them because event farmers can just stay in PvE.

Been there done that achievement is at 97 percent.
Account medal at char selection at 97 percent.
And char info details(with race, name, class, level and other stuff) at char selection says 98 percent.
Hi, have the same problem. Already made a thread yesterday and someon else must have made one the same time around when I made mine. They got pushed back pretty fast in this subforums it seems. Tried the search now a bit and found someone with another thread that mentioned having found a few areas. He still was missing some stuff and updated the post with new areas he found.

Can’t find this on the map. And I compared my maps. Have the same as in the map. Probably missing this. Maybe others are missing the same since it is not in the map from the wiki.
Only need to find out where this area is now to check it.
And other than that I would recommend to check the maps at the wiki. With exception of sparkfly fen(someone uploaded some strang looking map there must have been worked with photoshop at it) most of the maps seem to contain all the important locations I think… I think one was missing something that I already discovered. Need to check. Think it was south east at one of the maps and not in the wiki.

Does anyone know about Maaguma? It seems a lot of people have the 165 there but I saw in the players help players forums at least 2 other threads(that got pushed back to page 2+ at the forums and probably not enough people seeing them) with people only haveing 164.
I was at 161 and found 2 more not at the border of the maps which were easy to find cause it looked a bit blurry. And you never now at the borders of the map but compared my maps to wiki maps with names of the areas on them (except sparkfly fen the english wiki did not have a map with names of the areas on it) and found 1 more.
At 164 now… does anyone know if areas in the cities count too? Maybe I did not check everything there? The Asura have lots of portals but not easy to know where you checked already because the worldmap for the main cities is always unlocked by default.
Maybe some jumping puzzle… but last thread I read someone was at 164 with having completed all the jumping puzzles and someone did not get the golemagical institue awarded.

Aurora’s Remains… did not find this. The guy mentioned it in his thread. Probably one of the harder to find areas and I think it was not on the map in the wiki(needs to be updated then). So probably easy to miss even if you compare maps. And that zone always looked low on areas(not many names) if it could have more hidden somewhere.

Maybe they could remove the need to unlock that stuff completely. I already noticed it in PvE that it really is fast. So would not make a difference probably. And everyone would be happe. Seems not like an important part of the game to me. The skill points are more important and take more time.
badges come from killing blows in downstate, you can achieve that in 2 ways, the F key or the last damage blow in their down state.
I thought you needed to do the most damage? That’s what other people kept telling in other threads. So the AoE maybe would be really the best way since you have more chances to get a last hit? Or siege with high damage and AoE?
Or looking for small group fights.
Pretty hard in a zerg vs. zerg fight without AoE to get the last kill on something if always 3 or more people are running at the downed guys(if you are not melee and need to run there first).
No, but the enemy is doing something to STOP you from getting said Supply. Think about it, defend your Supply, and you get 120-140 Supply. Don’t defend it, you get 0. Kill the enemy Dolyak, get rewarded, don’t kill it and the enemy gets … Supply. It’s fine the way it is.
Yeah. The attacker’s reward is that the enemy is not getting the supply and he can successfully siege the keeps and towers more easy. But he should not get silver or exp or other stuff if the defenders are not getting it.
I hope that’s some random troll and the wiki gets locked, if not…
No trolling They were doing research on some other forums and has already been discussed here in crafting forums.
And guess why it is that they are not much better than other weapons: We don’t need to grind because of this since the weapon is not needed to play the other parts of the game.
