Where are these event chests that appear every 8 to 10 minutes?
Upgrade a regular ascended ring in the Mystic Forge using:
Ring
1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence
3 Globs of Coagulated Mists Essence
5 Vials of Condensed Mists Essence
You can infuse one to create a Rurik’s Royal Signet Ring (Infused), but this will require some items from Fractals which you may or may not have.
I believe this is the only way to wear both.
Personally, I don’t bother with minor sigils.
I do, however, throw in my extra major sigils. You will have about a 20% chance for an upgrade to a random superior sigil. Sometimes you hit the jackpot. SOmetimes you get a superior sigil that isn’t worth it’s face value and Zommoros laughs at you.
I usually have extra sigils/runes from salvaging rares for ectos. This is what I do with them.
Retaliation is reportedly currently broken on the borderland maps.
Retaliation was supposedly nerfed along with confusion a patch or two ago. Except, the retaliation nerf only applies to EB and does not apply to the borderland maps.
This needs to be fixed.
The current problem, that doesn’t seem to be getting addressed, is that the retaliation nerf that happened isn’t working on all maps.
Retaliation still does full damage on the borderland maps and this needs to be fixed. Fix this so retaliation works like ANet currently intends it to, and then we can start a healthy discussion about the pros/cons of retaliation.
The event to open up COF has proven to be quite profitable to me. I usually end up with some good loot, better loot than the dungeon in fact.
But I can understand those who want to do a ‘quick’ dungeon run. There are sites now that will tell you which servers, if any, have COF open.
Engineers take a lot of ‘attention’ to be good at them. You can not just auto attack and Akitten. I would not recommend this class if you are having issues with a lot of key presses and the such. This class depends on a lot of switching kits and tossing elixers to be useful and productive.
I would say the same goes for Elementalist. I hear they also require quite a bit of attention to be good with.
The warrior is, from what I hear, the easiest class to play. Doesn’t take much from the player to be an asset to a team or be productive in the game. I’m sure it still takes more to be an expert, but even beginners of this class can be very successful.
Isn’t the scaling of events still bugged? Meaning that events like the temples are being scaled horribly making them nearly impossible to do?
I haven’t heard of a fix for this issue yet, and until then I personally will be avoiding the Cursed Shore. Not worth the aggravation.
The last patch CLAIMS to have fixed the Lyssa temple event but it doesn’t feel any different.
Melandru is tolerable with a zerg but still annoying with the priest healing to full health.
Haven’t bothered with Grenth in ages.
I took that patch note to mean they fixed some issue unique to Lyssa and not the whole problem they have been having with scaling events in general.
Hopefully, they have fixed this. I haven’t checked around or asked around lately to find out.
Even when their new scaling is working properly, these Orr events are no where near as profitable as they once were.

Everyone of the lowest ranked servers in each of the current tiers is gaining points. They may not be winning the matchup, and in most cases are losing the matchup. But they are doing better than Glicko expected and thus are gaining points. Some by large margins.
FC here, and even though we are losing we currently have a 51 point gain in the ratings. The new matchups are doing what they were supposed to do.
Seems a lot of people don’t understand Glicko or the concept behind it.
Even though your server may be winning or losing by a large margin currenty, that does not mean you are gaining or losing points necessarily.
A lot of the servers in this thread complaining about being dominated are actually gaining a large number of points because they are doing a lot better than Glicko expects them to do.
That is the beauty of mixing the matchups up a little. To see how your server performs against a different higher or lower rated server and if you perform better or worse than expected than you will rise or fall accordingly.
As of this post, SOS is losing their tier but gaining a hefty 63 points to their rating. Because they are performing a LOT better than Glicko expects them to against those two higher rated servers.
I love the new matchups. Even with FC taking a beating, we are still gaining a large number of points in the ratings. This is because we are doing much better than Glicko expected.

Other players are put in a very awkward spot in these situations.
Some may view switching to an ALT at the last minute just so that ALT can get a reward that it isn’t entitled to (the toon isn’t entitled, but yes the player is) as a form of exploiting.
Now, if this is the way some view it then it is well within their right to kick someone who does this. If a player does not want to run with people who use exploits (or what he/she considers an exploit) then they are in their rights and probably better off kicking.
If you are going to attempt this, say so upfront. That way, the party is not surprised at the last minute and if they choose not to run the dungeon with you because of it, so be it and not much lost. If you wait until the last minute to do this, you may receive a reaction that you don’t like.
I really fail to see how John Smith is getting the credit for the patch.
We don’t know if it was a direct result of his actions or not.
They are dropping at a pretty good rate. Longterm investing in this item is not looking so good.
You can make 10 gold very easily if you put your mind and some effort into it. Get busy!
At this high of a level, I assume you already know how the reward mechanics work.
But I will ask anyways, was your personal reward level ‘40’ when you started this level ‘48’ run? If so, that would explain the 12 fractal relics from the chest. You were receiving rewards for the level ‘40’ chest.
But you still should have gotten credit for a tier 40-48 daily, and then have been able to collect a tier 30-38 daily chest.
We heard these same complaints from the PvE crowd when fractals came out. A LOT of PvE people didn’t and still don’t care to run fractals. They are in the same boat as you WvW guys.
Everyone would like an alternative, but as it stands both the WvW crowd and the PvE crowd who hates fractals are stuck either doing them to get the backpiece or just waiting.
Sell to a merchant for small change or just destroy.
Some you can throw into the MF, but others you can not. This is an option though for the items that you can.
This happens from time to time. You get ‘stuck’ in combat mode and your health will not regenerate.
Usually entering combat again will ‘fix’ the problem. Very random bug that occurs on a semi-regular basis for me.
Oh, and this page is useful in completing the ‘explorer’ achievements. (Which is different from 100% map completion)
They are going to change up the way WvW matchups are done this week.
Also, they were talking about changing up the ‘color’ rotation for matchups but I do not know if this will be implemented this week also or not.
Bottom line is, your server will most likely be in a different matchup this week and maybe a different color.
I’d also advise checking the maps during off times to see if anything you need has become accessible.
I agree with your comments Bright. They are always quick to fix ‘exploits’ but very slow to fix or address real issues brought up by the community.
And if it is not obvious by now, then it should be. They do NOT care about our complaints. Bugs will be reported for months, and when a dev finally makes a comment concerning said bug it is only to say that it is working fine. Meaning they don’t even know that it is broken.
Players have documented bugs, given proof of bugs, and yet still no action or acknowledgement by the powers that be. They act like they don’t know the bug exists and keep on smiling. I really don’t know what it will take to get them to address some of their bugs.
I was really, really disappointed with the Canach story mode instance.
I am a fan of Robert Hrouda’s work on the game I have seen so far and thus I was really excited to experience this ‘dungeon’ knowing he was working on the team designing it.
Please note, I do not blame Robert personally in any way. He was only part of the team that designed this. I was just hoping and expecting something a lot better and grander and was let down. It really is my own fault for expecting a little too much I guess.
The Canach ‘fight’ was extremely boring. No real fight, just gimicky mechanics used to defeat a buggy boss. There is no reason a level 1 character with no gear could not defeat him. You never have to even hit the guy.
Granted, you give us a decent reward for the waste of ten minutes. But I think I am going to stop expecting or believing anything of any substance will be produced any time soon. At least I won’t be disappointed that way.
I really want to be excited and hopeful about the meta event involving the queen karka. But now I am just fearful.
These exploits only saved a very minimal amount of time compared to doing it the way it was intended. I really don’t understand the complaints.
Why are you ignoring us PvE players and favoring the WvW crew?? They get to have ascended gear for less cost than us PvE guys? How is this even fair?
Why must I be forced to WvW to do my dailies now. It was bad before, but now there will be 3 WvW activities on the daily? This just proves you guys love the WvW crowd a lot more than the PvE crowd.
Amulets cost them 10 laurels less? Unfair.
Why can’t I spend my hard earned thick leather sections on ascended gear yet? Ignored and screwed by the man once again.
Dev said that the meta event is not active yet and eluded to the patch notes might be premature.

I have Quip on my engineer, and I really like the break from the sound effects when I switch to kits.
Instead of a purple aura, maybe it should have came with a red bozo wig that pops up on your head everytime you have Quip equipped.
Oh, and I wish they would improve the footsteps slightly. They are pretty unnoticeable most of the time.

Or more appropriately, we are just getting are rears handed to us.
WvW players have had access to the same laurels PvE players have had. 90% of the dailies could have been completed without ever leaving WvW, so the complaints don’t hold up.
The problems with Orr does not deal with farming or farmers. It is a problem with the events scaling horribly to the point where they are broken and can’t realistically be completed on some servers.
I can’t wait to get that defensive infusion.

If you REALLY want that defensive slot, grinding 1850 fractal relics is not really that hard. A level 26 run will net you 70 fractal relics plus an additional 30 for the daily chest.
Really, infusions are so costly for the additional +4 or +5 stat that they really are not worth having. For example: It takes +21 points of precision at level 80 to gain a 1% increase in critical chance.
Just purchase a versatile simple infusion for the +5 AR and move on would be my suggestion. Save your gold/materials.
If a lower tiered server does better than Glicko expects it to do against a vastly higher tiered server, that lower tiered server’s score should increase at a better pace than it would if that same server were facing a lesser opponent.
Not sure if that made sense, but basically it gives servers a chance to prove their worth against higher tiered servers. Even if they lose, if they do not lose by as big of a margin as Glicko expects them to they should gain points.
If they made Fractal progression account bound instead of character bound like some people want, they would most likely have to make the daily chests account bound also. Which would mean one daily chest per account. And the people with ALTs really do not want this.
The only reason people want their Fractal progression level account bound is so they can have another chance at a high level fractal reward.
I understand people who run ALTs get tired of doing the same content over and over. But personally, I just don’t believe if you have unlocked content for one character that it should automatically become unlocked for any other character you create.

Not a stealth nerf.
But it seems, just like every other aspect of this game, DR kicks in hard with the crates. It happens with open world loot, it happens when you run fractals for too long.
I really think their DR system is boinked and causing a lot of unintended problems. It is more than just ‘bad RNG’.
It has to do with whoever entered the dungeon and started the instance, not whoever started the party.
I would guess that maybe you were the first to enter the dungeon and the instance belonged to you.

There was a bug with a couple different types of armor at one point, however, and I am not sure if it was fixed or not.
The more serious issue, in my opinion, is these people’s treatment of others that come to the area to legitly try to do the nearby event.
These people are ridiculed, name called, and harrassed because others are afraid that their ‘farm’ is going to be shut down for a while by someone completing the event.
This event scales horribly because of these farmers also, so trying to complete the event is near impossible.
Had reports from two guildies last night that this was happening in Southsun for them. Constantly getting kicked.

I know engineers spend a lot of time in kits, but I don’t feel we need legendary effects for every single kit we have. Maybe just keep the aura and the footsteps. That would not be too overboard.
