I think it would have to do with the fact those posters have never run a guild, let alone had to deal with their server dying while wanting to do the best thing for your guild and guild mates

As an Officer who has been in you shoes before, and gone through all the ups and downs of transferring servers, just go out have fun with you guild and let them say whatever they want

and dont let those negative posters from other servers paint the servers in a poor light, I very much doubt they speak for their servers but rather they wish they were in a guild which took care of its members like yours have

This, it is amazing the judgement from people you flak when you decide to change servers because your current one isn’t working out, it is expected with general human nature. Love those who are helping you, but soon as they decide you’ve had enough and stop helping regardless of what they’ve done for you or your server you become demonised.

As to all those “RiSE is bad” I’de like to point out this weekend what colour was SM most of the time during NA Prime? It was blue, not green, not red. Who was in EB? RiSE was.

RiSE are most welcome on BG, together with MERC, ND, KnT, GoF, ICoa, RUIN, WM, Meow, KOR, ROK, AoI, NOC, Res etc. All these guilds which come from different places and have come together on one server to find a stable WvW community to play on.

Lastly I would say to the “FoO flips everything then they log onto nothing” Interestingly for your information BG ticks 300+ during EU and more recently rivals JQ’s SEA ppt even surpassing it at points.

Undeniably fun, I mean last night flipping SoR Hills over and over with my 10 man banditos (all militia and me), sieging it up and trying to fend of 40 JQ! :P

It is fun, but burns you out, we are glad to welcome the new transfers to BG going to make SEA timezone a lot more fun and engaging!

Hopefully once everything / everyone settles in, you’ll see BG on the offensive during SEA instead of permanent defence.

Very hard to gauge during weekend warrior matchups. Weekdays are better judges.

I must say, Wm isnt so WMish. Maybe they are not used to T1.

WM are as they have always been, small dedicated guild, with a large pug following. They are really good imo.

People have this view of past T1 match ups as if they were the same as current T1 matchups, this is the flaw.

WM seemed huge back in the day because you wouldn’t queue maps with the same amount of people you do now, remember they increased the map caps, not decreased.

Also back in the SoS v SBI v JQ match, it would be FoO vs WM vs MERC, there was no insane amount of pugs or “chinese / korean Alliance” so it was a much smaller affair. Back then the “Zergs” were a lot different and yes, WM fielded a lot more people than everyone else did, but back then everyone fielded less.

I watched them do the “double arrow” quite effectively on reset night, unfortunately the “2v1” was quite intense and having paper garri doesn’t favour the defender. WM hasn’t even fully finished transferring so I would wait till next week before you judge them.

I have no troubles taking fully upgraded supply camps alone. Yaks are easy to pick off even with 5-10 escorts and I can browse the net while auto attacking down a sentry. It seems stupid to vring extra people with me when I can do everything alone, theyd be better off in the zerg ball.

Pmuch, initiative is the difference between 14 supply camps and 4.

Only nerf is needed = put invisible wall which stops trebs hitting Bay from Vale.

Although, I don’t think people entirely understand the purpose of the maps and the ease in defending / hardship of taking hills.

Yes hills is easily defended and harder to take, but have you paused to think why?

Hills on Green Borderland is on the Red team’s side, giving them an advantage over Green, allowing them to hold it longer in their BL. Also the same as in Red BL, Green has Bay not Hills meaning Red can defend effectively vs Green. This is in attempt to stop the dominating server have free reign and gain free points from the 3rd server, while the 2nd server has an easy time fighting 3rd but harder time fighting Green because of hills being Green in their BL.

I would say only thing that needs a nerf really is how every outer wall is destructible in EB Valley, no other keep has all walls destructible and Overlook / Lowlands have water / physical walls blocking entry into the open fields surrounding Valley make blue the prime target for 2v1’s also its distance from SM.

SoR’s notorious for zergballing the most

Actually JQ and BG are far more notorious for it. The only thing SoR is notorious for is breaking zerg balls with lesser numbers.

Considering all zerg balls they come across have lesser numbers this is possible.

Whatever. Each and every night I fight enemy forces that out number me by quite a bit. Crying about zerg balling is stupid when your servers do it just as much, if not more.

Of course they outnumber you. Question is, do they outnumber the zerg you’re riding with?

Are you not paying attention or should I just lump you in with the other people that don’t understand how this game works despite playing it for months? If half of my BL is defending one location and the other half is defending a different location, and both enemies are attacking those locations with their full force ….who out numbers who given that it is prime time and all three servers are full. I know you can do it, its not that hard to reason through…

Now for that dose of reality you so like to speak about. There will be times like of which you mention. There will also be times when JQ is defending multiple locations against the other two servers, and times when BG is feeling the brunt of the other two. So, the answer to your question regarding all full servers is simple. All zergs are equal. It depends on how the servers split them up as to who/what you’ll face.

Now we’ll play with your example. Last night on SoRBL, we were hitting one side, BG the other. Oddly enough, both BG and ourselves had the out-manned buff. Or… was that on BGBL with us and SoR having out-manned… maybe both, I forget. Still, on BG it was nuts having their MERC/CHOO zerg hybrid chasing around ten or so FIRE for a few hours there. Hopefully we put up enough of a fight that they had fun as well.

Yeah that was Ralikh and I locking down BG BL post-SEA (at this point our timezone had been finished for over 5 hours :P) We did not sleep that night (4am sleep before Aussie public holiday).

We had fun, did you enjoy our 25 Ballistas in Vale? We thought we’d put the supply to good use.

Come BG we’re fun. Only time non-NA prime, I see queues here is BG BL during SEA Prime and that is usually because ND and MERC are both on the same map. Outnumbered most of the time as much as the other servers cry foul but good luck on your server selection.

In reply to the fickle minds who keep posting the “Ex-SoS guilds” have given up, I find this funny as it is now, 12am Tuesday for Western Australia / Singapore (GMT+8) and 3am for East Coast Australian / SEA (GMT+11).

Currently MERC has 60 people online of that 30 are in WvW (this is 8 hours after the start of our primetime) and we are still fighting the endless hordes of JQ on BG BL. This might be surprising for those of you who keep yelling at the top of your lounges that MERC, ND, AoI etc have given up, I’ll tell you this noone sieges up and holds SoR Hills or JQ bay better / longer than AoI does.

ND fields amazing numbers during SEA they log onto BG BL being pushed by FoO nightly, odd how we never see the SoR garrison pushed by the same force.

The so called “given up” guilds, are alive and kicking and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I love seeing Blackgate cry they’re the underdog and that SoR is stacked now (LOL).
BG already used to beat SoR very comfortably even before BG absorbed 70% (around 10 guilds) of SoS’s wvw population. SoR gained OCX, TSYM and AFS to come.

As much as the kitten talking goes on, BG isn’t stacked at all, during Oceanic on most night its MERC vs JQ’s stacked SEA / Oceanic and SoR’s uplate NA zerg. We are often alone until our friends ND log in or if KnT stays up late.

We had a little exercise in guild, name all the BG guilds and compare numbers to all the JQ / SoR guilds in their respective timeslots, do it you’ll laugh if you have ever thought BG is stacked.

We “work” our posteriors off most of the time and have a lot of great, dedicated people that really enjoy the WvW experience and try to get the most out of it. Ofc we’re paying for it this week with most our guilds being burnt out / tired and JQ being as ferocious as ever, but we worked together flawlessly to achieve the goal; beating JQ.

It’s pretty hilarious that you claim to have a 500 PPT while not having superior coverage/players at the time, just sayin.

Yes, because KnT an NA guild pulled an all nighter as did the AoI alliance they stayed up well past the Oceanic timezone and into the SEA to help us achieve this. This is the character of the BG community willing to push hard like this when requested of them.

Meanwhile JQ left FoO to fight us all alone, where was this epic surge of JQ might which they showed us on the weekend out numbering us on all maps and for the last 2 days on Friday? That to me shows a lack of commitment which JQ has “Oh 500 ppt” “Lets not log in to wvw it might be hard”.

On Friday morning (GMT+8) I started commanding at 10am and MERC was out in force by 11am and we pushed through till reset (8am). This was the reason we had 500 ppt in that timezone because both our NA and SEA come together to push as hard as we could, after I logged off Saturday I’de been commanding for 21 hours so that we keep the ppt 400+ all night.

JQers tend to forget, BG has superior ppt during Oceanic yes, but as soon as FoO and all your SEA hordes log on we are simply out numbered and cannot compete. We only competed last Friday because we managed to get a T3 keep or 2 across all maps which allowed us to maintain our footholds in the maps. We held SoR BL with 10 people, BG BL with 20 and had our main forces on JQ BL and EB.

I’de hope you guys would consider BG or Kaineng as your choices both tops servers.

I am really surprised that such great guilds and commanders are here mud slinging. Having come back from a several month lay off I was very pleasantly surprised at what I have found in the Blackgate. A concerted effort by several dedicated guilds to get the PUG’s and smaller guilds in their TS. To coordinate. If that fails to just follow the blue dot on your screen while they coordinate amongst each other on each realm.. and they do a REALLY good job of it.

Blackgate at this time simply has more guilds that want it more and much more.. They are mobile and versatile. JQ has amazing guilds like FOO who can steam roll opponents in very short order if you dont counter their game. SOR same thing with CHOO.. very strong and inspiring… but the massive amount of power these guilds alone have couldnt counter the teamwork of Blackgate in the end 24/7…

The last push led by several strong guilds and a couple of crazy madmen like Magickarp who I was following.. he pulled a 18 hour shift and put nonstop pressure on the enemy.. other commanders were doing the same on other realms.. Isnt that why they won? Who cares about supply? who cares about JQ making sunny untakebale with massive amounts of siege panted in their safe zone?

In the last few hours outside of the JQ garrison BG led by Magic wiped JQ and FOO 15 times or made them run back to their garrison.. doesnt that summarize why BG won?

Pretty much but also don’t forget, Ravygravy & Grimhilldr holding SoR BL with 10 people for about 3-4 hours, Portal Mesmer and Lotd holding BG BL for hours on end and KnT + ND (Riven the Valorous, Ridiculy & Hyun D respectively) in EB flipping the kitten out of lowlands and SM meaning JQ had to push onto EB before they could even come to a Borderlands. Oh and AoI holding an amazing T3 bay with 1700 supply, Deuce your a champ!

Pressure across all maps was the key to victory during Oceanic I was leading the only sizeable force the rest was an incredible effort from everyone, doing wonders with such a small number of people to hold over half the BL’s only requesting assistance when EMP / FoO were inside keeps.

You’re cute, maybe when your guild is relevant in WvW again, I might care.

Besides who knows the internal workings of SoS and MERC better than a JQ GM who stacked his server to the brink, you are now reaping the consequences, well done.

SF & others transferred off their server 3 weeks after they lost a major guild – no backlash for them, oh yeah, right because they were stacking your server, so thats alright, but if they provide competition no no thats bad and you guys should feel bad for wanting to play on a balanced competitive server.

So VaL’s mega alliance never transferred to you I see, those 16 (that you acknowledge, which we’ve all seen is more)

Bottom line is BG is a great server, which beat JQ pulled out all stocks this week which yes; Never Die and MERC had major parts in and I’m sick of the constant sniping from the insipid toxicity that is JQ maybe if you could actually best us on the WvW field you wouldn’t attack us so consistently on the forums.

Now I would like to congratulate Blackgate on the win it was well deserved and one troll doesn’t discount that. I can safely say none of the Major guilds on BG condone these actions so stop bringing them up. It sucked being unable to use siege but honestly I look forward to more competition and a fun filled match and that’s ultimately what this game comes down to.

Clarity; I was saying the “there bad players on the T1 servers” is a moot point, as there are bad players in all games.

I’m always cynical when someone says “I got a lot of badges & gold tonight from x y z” like no one ever wipes them or receives badges from them.

My kills to death ratio is significantly higher (by this I meakittenerg I command wipes enemy zerg more than we get wiped) I’ll say, I’m usually commanding during those awkward times where there are MERC’s on but only 10-15 not our prime meaning we do get wiped by significantly more organised forces such as the “Staying up late” FoO force or the “MERC go home your drunk” early Choo force.

But the thought that you can claim you are significantly better then everyone that plays this game is a joke @Raven Paradox.

My experience running around as a MERC Commander is that non-Choo SoR and Non-FoO JQ struggle to even compete while Veld/Amarathy/myself et al leading, this isn’t a comment of saying “JQ is kitten or SoR is kitten” as your post basically was saying. It’s that when playing a guilded force who knows how each other plays and is unified when they push in & on voice coms together ofc they will wipe the pug commander who is just trying to help his/her server out to fill a map gap, if you’ve ever commanded you will know the pain of pushing into a smaller force than yours and watching all the pugs running backwards to spawn rather then pushing through.

Everyone in T1 has the skill for T1, all decent commanders should know the meta and if they don’t you’d hope they would follow before they lead to learn the ropes. Besides all it takes is one week in T1 copy and paste a strategy someone used against you reverse engineer it, bang you’ll start wiping them – I know this is 100% the case for MERC, FoO used to mop the floor with us until we realised why and returned the favour and also adding some strategies SoR used against us and bang profit.

As to Kaineng coming up, oh the kitten storm. I’m sure the NA battles will become what us Oceanic / SEA guilds like MERC and ND have been dealing with for weeks, a 1v1 with JQ. It will be a swapping of roles imo, instead of NA’s having to level / gain slight advantage during their timezones it will be the Oceanic / SEA’s job to keep the ppts are 235 vs 235 vs 230 and the NA’s job to contribute the blowouts.

MERC & ND et al vs FoO et al vs War Machine & TK et al, we’ve been looking forward to this match up for a long time.

I have a feeling it will be a battle of “Who logs out first” and the EU’s/Early NA will have fun logging into T1 SM and T1 Borderlands, if not lowlands/overlook/valley.

In reply to the “Oceanic zerg” its more that BG last night had 3-4 mid sized guilds/forces across all maps (15-20ish); Urge, Noc, Thai, ND (in EB) as a static force while MERC spent the night jumping from one map to another which probably made it seem like there were 60 mans on every map as we were able to effectively defend and hold SM at the same time as help hold FoO off in JQ Hills. Dat macro game.

Enjoying this match a lot too bad work takes up all my time hope for more epic fights & 3 way battles.

Yes that is the most up to date list of guilds who moved to BG. Every single one of those guilds are hardcore WvW players.

Unfortunately it has hurt the power of those SoS players still fighting the good fight. Although it seems they are content to not have push as hard as we always did. Contrary to what many people think SoS pushed hard with what we had, everyone was dedicated and put in a ton of hours.

SoS is an amazing community, and will always be remembered as the hardest working server most of us have had the pleasure of working with.

Agree, was amazing playing with everyone from SoS, the pushes we’re immense even in the last few weeks of fighting for second!

Simple: Result Remains to be seen.

MERC & ND won’t be fully transferred for another week or 2. A lot of our members don’t have the gold to transfer so are still farming.

1. MERC & ND were moving together no matter the server we chose.

2. We chose BG because of the even coverage they had, we were getting burnt out and tired of pushing hard every night in Oceanic / SEA timeslot going from 3pm till 2-3am (GMT+8) only to log out 10k up knowing FoO & JQ’s Euros would pvdoor and turn our 10k gain into 10-20k deficit when we logged in in the morning.

3. SoS simply did not have the guilds and coverage to compete in T1 anymore (I know this is a surprise for most who will say NO SOS’S COVERAGE WAS INSANE) our coverage and success was based on really dedicated guilds such as MERC, AoI, TySM, Agg, FoE & insane players like Amarathy, Patone, Kurthos and Jedahs pulling ridiculous hours and rallying people through our “offpeak” timezone to maintain a steady ppt during (people will say they all have done the same thing but really? I doubt that you were ever on Patone or Kurthos’s level), These people have become burnt out and quit / stopped going as hard. VoTF was our only EU and as amazing as this 108 man guild is they could not hold off JQ’s onslaught across all 4 maps.

4. MERC & ND cannot play in any other tier than T1 or T2 (vs WM) without it being a roflstomp and PvDoor.

5. MERC & ND have decided to change server for the health of our members and guilds, we are really looking forward to fighting alongside BG who will undoubtedly bring a renewed fight to JQueue.

You all remember Jedahs, he quit because the game was impeding his real life, this is what MERC & ND are avoiding. I remember pulling all nighters over christmas to achieve that comeback victory from JQ & the same the week after new years. Simply put our activity and level we were playing at on SoS was unsustainable therefore we decided as a guild to look at our options, we approached just about every guild on SoS and let them know our views holding many open server and guild meetings with our allies and have been as transparent as possible with our decision to move, we didn’t come to it lightly.
