Capping maps, small 20man skirmishes in Oc waiting for 7pm for WM and FoO to log in with 40+ and play the RUN TO THE HILLS game. Game was so much more fun with culling.

Fann I said prior to the leagues as in the two matches where we 1v1’d SoR and JQ, not talking historically just the situation after losing TKG + half of MERC which SoR/JQ both going into the leagues and week one had given BG no chance of winning at all.

No, we we’rent resting, it was the shock of losing two massive guilds, remember BG losing TKG + half of MERC meant that JQ gained TKG + MERC. We were destroyed in the Oceanic/SEA timezone due to needing a restructure which lead to guilds like Omen overextending themselves and burning themselves out. The “resting” comment is just something you say to save face, I’ve heard many a server say that before including your own.

What you saw in the leagues was NA, Oc, SEA, EU all rallying together we had often during seasons saw NA commanders up during SEA, EU etc. ICoa and KnT had people tagged up almost 24/7.

I think it would have been more remarkable if Blackgate had to overcome great odds to win, for instance coming 2nd place at least once. That being said, the video is really great! I hope some of your guilds consider moving to a server to teach others your tactics.

It is a massive achievement, given going into the leagues BG had been all but written off, regardless of how our opponents in SoR / JQ will say otherwise they had written us off as even a chance of winning the leagues, our Oceanic / SEA took a massive hit with TKG and half of MERC moving to JQ. Not to mention no new infusions of guilds going into the league while JQ received many.

Prior to the leagues we lost to both SoR and JQ by massive margins but the Seasons provided BG a cause to fight for, Blackgate rallied to the call and fought hard winning 7-0 undefeated champions of NA Season 1.

Blackgate is the biggest gaming community I have ever been a part of and I don’t think I’ve ever held pride like I do towards BG for any gaming community ever it’s great. The victory in the seasons despite a massive loss of key guilds shows the strength and willingness of guilds & the server to work together, play longer and win.

So in summary hell yeah it is an achievement and Beastgate lives on.

Ralikh is still, to this date, one of the best commanders I have ever followed. Spot on map coordination, tactic, and level-headed combination throughout all opportunities I was given to follow him on Sea of Sorrows as well as Blackgate.

Hit north bay, run away once scouted, zerg comes, go hit north hills, rinse repeat. Can’t count the number of times on SoS / BG I have been outnumbered on a map but been on the offensive simply because you break into diff locations over and over eventually taking them when the bigger force gets tired of chasing you.

Strategy is knowing your numbers and their limitations, often you can have a full map but still be no match for the other force on the map as it may be a full queue of guilds vs 1 pug blob, play smart, don’t rely on numbers.

Try this against vizunah square and you’ll fail. They have 1 scout + tons of arrow carts in every important building.

Play NA Tier 1.

Every server has that.

What I mentioned was speed is the key, not surprise, damaging multiple objectives using supply available to you wasting theirs on repair.

WvW is basically one big game of chess, if you know what you are doing you can force the other team to make every move you want them to, taking keeps properly is much more than just wiping the enemy force.

Blackgate has the most New Zealanders of any server, just sayin’ contact NOC (Nocturnal) they are a good / fun guild for WvW/PvX.

I nominate Married Woman from [WM] War Machine for having the best name NA.

Quite clearly #1 guild goes to OnS/AoI, best guild in NA I’ve seen. I’ve watched them grow up from SoS where to be honest they were quite the bads :P, they transferred with us off SoS as they became the only NA guild/s on the server but still would show up every day to fight even when severely outmatched. Now they are the arguably the best NA guild on BG and the only guild many trust to hold down BG garrison against a prolonged 2v1 during NA, taking this job so that others don’t, sai strong, sai gud, sai powerful – OnS Doge.

OnS which makes up the majority of AoI has some of the most amazing commanders and people like Reyana who was a pillar of the SoS community and is now basically Blackgate if I had to pick two people who make BG, BG it would be Malevolent Omen and Reyana. (Choc ofc also ;P) but you get the picture.

My vote goes to BG.

Trolling aside (I troll a lot and say some mean things ) this is a server that has hovered around the top for the longest time. They have a core group of guilds who have kept the server at the top in WvW for the longest time. Oh, and that pride. Of course, there is #magswag, but the ammount of hashtags applicable to BG is unmatched.

Their roamers are also some of the best and most coordinated. When the mid-tier servers call T1 zerg trash, it is the might of RIOT and oPP that really show off their small man might to a level that just makes them unmatched. The RGs of the roaming world.

First to kill Teq, and clear winner of season one WvW. BG deserves my thumbs up.

If I were to pick a second, I would pick Maguuma. I server which I can respect, AGAIN, trolling aside. A server that doesn’t care about winning or losing. They care about the fights and having fun. Some kitten good roamers too, and all around just an amazing mindset to be for a WvW server. Thumbs up.

I’d pick BG obvious reasons, but since we are disqualified from picking our own, I’d say SoS fun times, my ex-server so a lot of friends there and some quality guilds fighting hard like CNB who remind me of MERC back when we were on SoS fighting WM and FOO 80mans with our 40, cept when I fight them I feel like FOO/WM xD!

Keep fighting SoS keep the Oc/SEA coverage up and build on it and you’ll be knocking on T1’s door soon enough.

I know for a fact MERC members received about 50g each member (as stated on officials by Tarkus) and I assume the other guilds got similar if not more as from what I heard from my guild mates who moved was the last of JQ’s transfer cache which is why it was lesser (GD, WvW, TKG, NS, Agg had already transferred).

About 120 MERC moved (correct me if i’m wrong) = 6000g

I used “40k” in inverted commas because I in fact don’t know how much they spent all I heard was suddenly JQ had money to burn, this was a big worry for us in BG going into the leagues and the guilds that transferred to JQ such as those mentioned above was a big blow and worry for BG. The " " for this purpose denotes a large sum of funds.

Remember taking MERC + TKG from BG didn’t only add to JQ’s Oc + SEA it also detracted from BG’s which makes this win a bigger middle finger to JQ tbh.

GW2 is Build Wars 2. 90% of the time the player with the better(cheesier?) build will win. It’s useless in arguing who is better unless you both run the same class and the same build. I still have my troll thief build which has only failed twice in a 1v1 and always comes out on top.

Why would that be relative when a single ele properly geared can drop meteors for 12k each on a single area per strike, especially when you get multiple doing it? You can wear all the pvt in the world, but you’re probably still going to die.

I’m not taking BG’s side here but this is Anet’s meta. The possession of objectives to give points. I do understand that quite a few servers like Maguma and SOR have abandoned Anet’s meta, it’s not BG’s fault that they adhering to it. They are 100% focused playing the game in its official meta.

To be honest, it requires a lot more organization and structure on the server leaders to ensure that there scouts in the objectives. BG now probably has the most organized force and systematic coverage since the Titan Allaince back in the day. Personally I have a lot of respect for that.

PPT or Points Per Tick refers to the scoring system present in the video game Guild Wars 2, it is used to calculate a winner in the game mode World Versus World or WvW. Points per tick is calculated every 15 minutes to ensure enough time for objectives which grant PPT such as towers, keeps or supply camps to be captured by a world and held “for the tick”.

PPT is a way in which players can measure their server’s success at any given time. Higher PPT often means that your server is “Winning” or “Dominating” the other two. Often when not winning the “PPT” losing servers often revert to the futile position and complain that the other server is “stacked”.

Fann I think you overestimate the “WM” effect, prior to WM moving over myself, Hyun D (ND) and Ralikh figured out by staying up a few hours later than Waha we could bring down JQ’s massive SEA at one point we even kept him awake until 7am, was quite fun.

What some of the people seem to be saying is – Morale is the issue, which is it, SoR’s morale is low at the moment while BG’s is riding high and unbreakable right now.

BG NA made a massive come back after the first 1v1 weekend, JQ and SoR both underestimated BG immensely thinking each other the biggest threat for the leagues, focusing each other in the first match.

SoR was riding high on the morale after week 2 weekend spouting all sorts of “BG is dead” non-sense then… Nek minit – BG NA over two days makes a 22k come back and builds a lead they push through and work with our OC players and build a 5k lead and that night 10 ZDs transfer onto BG without broad server knowledge (one or 2 people knew prior to). BG NA broke SoR’s morale and ZD transfer basically gave them an excuse not to show up and a scapegoat to blame the loss on.

“Battlefield 4” excuses make me laugh as KnT had majority of their players out on release of this as did many other BG guilds.

IRON used to be a massive thorn in our SEA’s side just because they aren’t doing it now doesn’t mean they haven’t in the past, calling it a dead zone is a phaux argument as I have seen first hand and been outnumbered by TW lead pug zerg and IRON zergs in EU prime prior to leagues one guild does not change this, morale does.

Lastly the timezone argument is funny because Oceanic TZ ask any of your commanders when it starts – they’ll tell you 5pm AEST – if you start much later than then you’ve already lost everything.

For once in your life, just say GG you beat us.

We got outplayed by SoR on the weekend of the first match BG/SoR/TC, then we bought back the pain on Tuesday and reclaimed the lead and SoR disappeared completely.

During the SoR/JQ/BG match SoR had queues all week, as did every server, suddenly SoR loses it’s ability to queue maps? That isn’t due to fairweather pve populations, that is due to guilds not showing up to lead the pugs.

We haven’t ever given any guild 15k gold to transfer, that is way too much gold for anyone to fork out for anything. You can go on about our Warchest and server fundraiser all you want but I can tell that “fundraiser” which you guys love to harp on about after we tallied in the cost of the prizes etc netted us under 1000g which is nothing and nowhere near all the hearsay bull shet you love to spew.

ZDs made their own choice to come to BG as we had approached them in the past just after IRON came to T1 and unbalanced the match up. Half of ZDs had already transferred before the server was aware and they funded themselves to get over we have given them some funding once they were already here to help get their poorer members across but I can assure you it was nothing close to the figure you are fabricating. Take your lies and misinformation back to your server forums where it belongs.

1. Mind I ask where are the “1000g” at the moment?
2. Weren’t they able to gather enough money within the guild to fund their own member, or, even if they were, they asked for help instead of trying to get the fund within the guild?
3. Are they going to return the 1000g or whatever the sum is they borrowed?
4. I mentioned you used the word “give”, so I assume they aren’t going to return them back?
5. If they aren’t going to return the money back, you are, by definition, “buying” them since you “pay” them to perform an act.
