when im picking traits id like to strugle with them like: oh i want that one, but oh no if i take that one i cant take that one… now its just easy since some are just way better than others. for now i still enjoy playing my ele, i just use my DD build with a staff and its awesome. i hope there will be some changes to the traits in the future tho

the reason the cooldown for fire grab is 45 secconds is because we have 4 atunements to switch to instead of 2 weapons. that gives us 4x a nr 5 skill where other professions have 2. it makes sense that our cooldown is double than. for me fire grab damage is fine as it is, id like to see it hit more often tho. but im sure this will be looked into by someone some day

what is your goal with it? personally i cant inmagine myself running a build without atleast 1 stun breaker. and since you have written in stone, (maintain the passive effects of signets when you activate them) wouldnt it make more sense to go for the healing signet? i like signet builds i realy do, but when i do that on a thief it still gives me one stunbreaker so i was fine with that. signet of air could benefit u greatly if you can time it right, its an instant blind to avoid a big hit.

i saved up 17 keys from my story line events on different characters and was planning to open them during an event. i got the fused ticket but honestly there isnt any fused weapon that i realy like, or want. i do want 7 more pickaxes, 1 for each of my character.

Increased recharge increased 20 seconds to 40 seconds.
Recharge is now halved if the player strikes a foe.
Reduced the range to 1200 from the previous (hidden) 1550.
so many bunny’s are going to die now ANet… is that what you want?
i suggest keeping the 20sec cooldown if your out of combat. If not, place more bunny’s in the world so i can ride my lightning on them. and ofcourse risen bunny’s in orr that act the same as any little critter. no “in combat status” or anything.

from the D/D bunker ele point of view… we can still heal in mist form, switch to water atunement = 1.5 to 2k hp, dodge right after it is another 1.5 to 2k hp. my DD build removes 1 condition when atuning to water, also with the regen that you get from changing to water (becouse you have that trait in the at the first 10 arcana points) you can remove another condition if you picked the right grandmaster trait at water 30.
i might have to reconsidder using ether renewal tho, since it can be interupted more easy now.

never seen anything like it. I myself play a healing power/bleeding thief, i didnt follow any build advice from anyone i just speced into what i thought worked best for me, but man, seeing this makes me want to switch. Once i get enough money ill try to make a spike build like this. I do have 2 questions tho, do you have any WvW video’s? id love to see you in action there

i didnt get a gauntlet ticket Oo, i got abit of silver and about 84k exp if i remember correctly, but there were no items in the reward for completing it. are you sure you didnt confuse it with one of the achievements? becouse the achievement sais you will be awarded with that ticket if you complete it.

whenever i use a conjure in a combat situation i use about 3 skills and than drop the weapon quickly. when your 2-3-4-5 skills are on cooldown you would be pretty silly to continue firing the nr1 autoattack

i dont realy mind having to unlock lots of skills to have this as an advantage later on, the thing that disturbs me more is for example D/D water atunement is hard to unlock since the progress of unlocking only continue’s while you make a kill in that atunement. and when in water atunement 3/5 skills dont do damage it makes it kinda hard. but at the end again… tottally worth it

dont listen to others that tell you how to play. just play the way you like. if thats 100% fire than thats 100% fire. I have no idea why they would call you selfish for doing so. the only reason i can think off would be sPvP where you probably need all 4 atunements and you team would benefit from that to, for example the heals in water. Also spreading Might to all your allies cant be called selfish if u ask me.

im did not realy read the entire page to see if its posted yet but if they would drop the charges on a conjure nr1 skill thats already a GREAT improvement if u ask me. and if the icebow would shoot just abit faster

well i already had an awesome name for my ele and i had to have it before someone else did. named it Toversletje and later turned out to be offensive. than i had to change it. also its the only class i really tried in the beta’s. i fell in love with ride the lightning ^^. and wow how awesome that this skill is on the best available weapon set ^^

if he farmed those earth elementals for 10 hours and he got 1 lodestone out of it i’m sure he also had lots of other drops that he can sell to get towards the 15-20G u mention.
i do have to agree with you that you should not just farm the lodestones. if you sell all that other stuff you can buy a few every 10 hours as well.
some items are meant to have a low drop rate. if this is not the case i’m sure they will adjust it in the future. don’t forget that this is still a new game and at the moment there are bigger priority’s than droprate’s.

i only make a character if i have a good name for it. i had so much trouble thinking of a nice name for my engineer that i waited creating one. if i would have the option to name change later at the game i would have started weeks ago with a different name. i’m also supporting account name change because my name was changed by ArenaNet. its usefull in WvW zergs just to keep up with the zerg, for me not being a lvl 80 yet im not realy going for a 1v1 fight anyway. and when attacking the gate of a tower i dont realy need a cantrip anyway.

i dont want to go off topic but why would you kill someone and than run away when he uses vengeance? if he has 100% health he’s back alive again, so what was the point of killing him in the first place than?

as i said, every class has its pro’s and cons. like for example i dont think its fair that if me and a ranger both get downed the ranger will always win because he has his pet to revive himself. i dont think its fair that if i kill a guardian in the jumping puzzle he does his knockback, throwing me off the cliff… me falling to my death and him getting a rally. and a warrior who dies and does vengeance has all his skills available and just does his incredible high damage burst combo all over again while i was already on low hp from defeating him. you cant change everything to the way you like. you have the option to play an elementalist to if you so desire.

They should make ele’s vapour form back to its old cool down to match vengeance like it used to.
that way an elementalist would have no way to avoid getting stomped at the first try.
a thief can teleport
a warrior can knock down
a ranger can stun

a guardian can push back

i dont even know why a thief is brought up, they can just walk in stealth, sure they will take some damage but no1 can focus them. also every thief has a shortbow and can just infiltrators arrow on the portal to get in, even when immobilized. every class has its pro’s and cons. also every1 sais how much they dont like an ele to have it but no1 can seem to think of a solution.

once you get experienced enough other classes will tell you that you have to much survivability. the way i would spend my first trait points would be: 10 arcana and take the “boon on atunement change” than 10 in air for zephyr’s boon. when you unlock your 2nd skillbook (lvl 40+) get water 15. that should help you alot i think.

this is my armor, its called “feathered” and you can either buy it from the TP or craft it. i bought it from the TP and transmuted it with my own lvl gear. to buy a full set of feathered gear will cost about 10 silver.
the dye i’m using is:
red: Burgundy
white: Blue Ice
blue: Country Teal
i bet there are awesome color variations to be made with this armor but i just happened to unlock those 3 dye in a row and they kinda fit together nicely. besides the starter dye i have nothing else unlocked on this alt.
when i reach 80 i will probably get a dungeon set but so far i haven’t found anything that i REALY like.

1. signet of air is not just an speed increase, its also an instant blind. its awesome to blind your downed target so they cant knock you down, pull or stun. you will need good timing tho. you can also use it to avoid incomming stuns or knockbacks. if you were to late for that you can still use it while flat on the floor to avoid the next big hit thats comming.
2. conjure ice bow skill 4 is AWESOME against lots of things but especially objects.
3. if you put your enemy against a wall or in a corner and you will use burning speed, the stretched line will now be all on the same spot dealing much more damage.
(you can test this in world v world on a gate)

I vote on removing stealth entirely, giving thieves an “evasion” state similar to the one mesmer shatter ability in the place of all stealth skills.
yeah i vote for this! ill use shadow refuge to get 10 seconds of “evasion” evading every attack, being 10 secconds immortal. cant wait for this update lol :p

i assume every1 found it annoying when the fractal of the mist tokens were the same as the knowledge crystals. they fixed this by giving the fractal tokens a new icon. i would like this to be done with more items. for example:
crude salvage kit
mystic salvage kit
ash legion spy kit
they all have the same icon and having all 3 in your inventory at once can get very confusing. obviously i dont want to salvage my junk with the mystic kit as those uses are way to valuable. and i dont want to risk salvaging a rare/exotic with a crude salvage kit. also i dont want to stealth myself using the ash legion spy kit when im trying to salvage something.
this is just one example but there are more.

yeah if your standing on a high cliff and you aim the cluster at the edge of that cliff, and one bomb will fall off, in that case its actually the highest range attack in the game xD even higher than the 1500 ranger longbow

SIGNET OF SHADOWS some day friends you’ll realise what a waste of a slot that is
that realy depends on your build. most people (probably you to) see it as just a 25% speed increase. well it can be used for more than just that. its also an instant blind. this is usefull in so many situations. if you see a knockback/knockdown comming or for example when you downed a ranger, warrior, engineer or necro downed and your finishing them, you can use this blind to let them miss their stun, knockdown, pull or fear.
anyway, the ambush trap is realy awesome and i use it alot. im not using it in my build but when im fighting a boss with a group its a nice bit of added dps. ive thought about doing something awesome with this trap. gather about 20 thieves who all have this ambush trap unlocked and put them all on the same spot in the WvW jumping puzzle. than all hide and watch the fun as one person triggers them all :p

i would like to see one of the following options:
casting a conjure weapon replaces the current atunement for that conjure weapon. maybe you just want to use 1 or 2 skills, play around in other atunements and than swap back to the atunement in where you casted the weapon to obtain it again.
or
casting a conjure weapon should replace the atunement of the conjure weapon type. for example if you conjure your ice bow it will replace your water atunement skills.
than there should also be a “weapon swap button” available to drop the weapon at any time. also i think either the timer or the charges need to be removed. one of them is enough.

dagger earth 3…… I cant tell you how much I CC myself for 3 seconds with this skill. I think I’m just gonna stop using it all together which sucks because having an immobilize is so good. Nothing funner than fighting a GC thief and then stunning yourself for 3 seconds while he kills you with 2 heartseekers.
Also the RTL making you stop running when it ends.. very annoying.
I don’t get the over shooting like some others but Ive watched it happen in WvW to alot of people.
Looks like some of us are back to square one only using RTL for escapes again
yep im having trouble with the exact same skills. also fire 5 misses alot. and skills like lightning whip dont do damage against objects for example centaur weapon racks or treb’s in sPvP.

i completed gendarran fields (lvl 25-35 map) when i was lvl 30. even cleared out the cave with the ettins to get the skillpoint. 1 veteran ettin and 2 normal ettins at once and i defeated them without much problems even tho they were higher lvl than me. elementalist survivability realy relies on skill i think. i used dagger dagger. the healing gliph, blinding flash, mist form, ice bow. traits, 10 arcana (boon on atunement change) and 10 air (zephyr’s boon)

i played a thief to lvl 80 so i know what i can expect when im about to face a mob.
with my elementalist of lvl 22 with lvl 20 gear i can take down multiple enemys of my same lvl or a few lvl higher. i can also defeat veterans solo. ive played alot of pvp before i went lvling it in pve. thats how i got the hang of it. im always using D/D. and im not having much trouble with it. the key to playing elementalist is, to not just stay in one atunement and use every skill 1 by 1 until they are all on cooldown and than maybe swap to the next atunement… you will need to switch alot and use skills from 1 element to help out the other element. its totally not like any other profession where u can stay in one weaponset. you realy need to keep changing atunements and use the full power your elementalist has.
