Hmm if your having skill lag just send in a support ticket, so they can gather more data, because some people have more lag then others. So it cant hurt to send a support ticket and do some tests for them so they can get data.

Don’t only bark, help them too.

The network engineers are probably in NA, and they reset the servers in Frankfurt remote.

Strange that support claims its my ISP and there is nothing wrong with their servers, and here Devon confirms its their servers..

Thanks for theses posts, but then why does the support person tells stuff differently? And not just say to me like:

Hey it are our servers, they cannot handle all the load, but we are trying to fix it.

They keep saying there is nothing wrong with their servers lol

I personally have no issues with you putting my comments or suggestions on the forums or merging them with other server based reports of latency. At the end of the day, I really do just want you to be able to play Guild Wars 2 without issue. If that means my comments being put on the forums will get more people to create tickets and run a few diagnostics as you have been kind enough to do, by all means, please do. Though I should note, I am not implying you are the only person to report this issue. We do have a few other reports but given the sheer amount of players per server, it’s not consistent with the amount of tickets we should be getting if the issue was purely server based.

So please don’t say : They know about it, just send your report to them.

The more ppl do the tests, the more date they get to fix this problem.

Did you send a ticket to support about the lag? Because that’s what im trying to do here.

Yes it sounds like a copy paste, and it is.. They need to know the data, so they let you do some tests.. after 4 tests you will see they don’t only copy paste you.

Can any Anet official acknowledge my post please, to stop guessing? Because I am talking to the support for weeks now. And I am trying to help the game with this.

Well I am sick of skill lag in WvW, I have a lot of conversation with Anet about this on the support section. I will show the last post support gave me.

I am sorry you feel this way but please do understand that we have a network engineering team monitoring the servers 24/7. I understand you are experiencing an issue here and I do understand that others may be as well. However, if you know of others experiencing an issue, please have them make a ticket regarding the issue. If we can find a pattern or show that there is in fact an issue with the server, believe me I will get that information to our networking engineering team immediately for review. However, what I can not do is just assume there is an issue because someone on the forum also said they had latency. We must diagnose where it’s coming from and to do that, we need people to create tickets as you have.

It’s just as easy to say that it can’t be the server because we have players playing without issue as it is to say it must be the server because you heard someone else say they had latency too. Antidotal evidence like this isn’t something we can rely on. Now, in your case, you were kind enough to create the ticket and assist us by running these tests and as you have mentioned, the proxy helped slightly but not enough to say the issue was resolved. As such, I will get this information to our network engineering team so they can look further into but again, if you have or know of others experiencing this issue, please encourage them to create a ticket. The amount of players that are willing to create a forum post versus the amount of players willing to report the issue via a ticket and run a diagnostic test is staggeringly different. We have to rely on the latter because otherwise, we have no way to know where the issue is coming from and without that information, we have no way of resolving the issue should it in fact be on the server.

I hope this makes sense and if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Well ofcourse my numbers are not balanced, its just an idea how to make WvW more interesting. Now its just.. who first takes the keep haves it, but if you take a camp and defend that, you will see so many different fights on different locations.. and people staying there to protect it until its build into a tower.

World vs World should be a 2 week long battle right? And I understand that after a week its getting boring and you want a reset.. But what if things in the WvW maps needed time to succeed.

My idea is about structures.

The map as it is, is fine.. camp here, tower there etc.

Why not start all buildings on camp level, and you can upgrade the camp to a tower and the tower to a keep, but you can only upgrade these spots as its intended, like camps are max camp, tower can be max a tower etc.

Camp to tower requires lets say 1000 supplies and it will be invulnerable for 6 hours to let it build.. No enemy can retake it in that time ( so structured wvw guilds can time this building time for when they want to goto sleep ) solves nightcapping to an extend.

When the tower has been build ( on a tower spot ) you cannot upgrade it to a keep.

If an enemy attacks the tower, the tower will not be downgraded and the original wvw continues.

Same idea for a keep.

I think this gives WvW a new edge of gameplay and guilds can really focus on building a strong keep from the ground up, so they WANT to defend it at all costs.

Next time play WWW, and try to add some more points to your server.

I know it scks if u die when you see a lot of bags, but hey that’s the game..

If someone drops stuff it drops on the ground, not in your inventory.. you have to pick stuff up to get it.

I don’t know if its possible? But can you assign 1 key to multiple letters? like when u press 1 you also press F so you can swing your weapon and pick up possible bags.

akanibbles, can you try out wtfast.com, install the free trial.. select custom game.. pick gw2.exe.. take a DE(german) server let them pick the best, goto your email and accept the new ip.

After that, start the game using the proxy program, and tell us after 1 day what it did for you. Thanks!

It solved it for me. I was very skeptic about it too, I said to the support.. Never mind helping me, you are just giving me a standard solution.

But they told me, they didn’t do that, and I gave them a chance.. the website that delivers this says to give MMORPG’s less lag.. and sure they do! Try it out yourself.

Alright the support advised me on using a proxy server.

I was very sceptic of using a proxy server, cause it normally lags my game right? But then I tried it and I tried it in the borderlands I had lag in, and guess what..

It fixed my lag problem, on big groups I have lower FPS, but that’s FPS right? But I could press all my skills without any delay.. only when its 100v100v100 in bay my heal didn’t respond, but after 2 second it did… and that’s fast

Hello Mark.

First, please understand that using a proxy is not a violation of the EULA or Terms of Service Agreements. This really only applies to programs that do one of two things. Either they modify game data or they give you an unfair advantage compared to other players. Proxy services do neither of these and are allowed to be used, though yes, they cost money.

The issue here is that since the proxy service worked, that means it’s what we previously suspected. While in transit to the game server, your data is being lost due to packet loss. Technically speaking, you shouldn’t need the proxy since you are already paying for a connection to the Internet through your ISP. However, as you have now experienced, it’s that connection or the route they are using to get your data to our server that is causing this issue. So you will need to contact your ISP and have them address this issue or you may be forced to use a proxy service, though again, it shouldn’t be needed.

As for performance in WvWvW and PVP, please use a program like FRAPS or other in-game FPS monitoring program so you can visually see (At all times) your performance. If during battles your FPS drops below the average you are looking for (Most prefer 60, some can handle just 30 but it varies) then yes, you will need to decrease your in-game video settings. However, you need to first determine of the slowdown you’re experiencing is FPS “lag” or “latency” based due to the packet loss. Having an application like FRAPS allows you to do that very quickly.

And it seems Seafarer have no problems with hit, they just take all our towers and keeps now running in a major blob.

Yes the NCsoft helper said I was losing packages, and I needed to use pingplotter, but he acknowledged that my connection was good.. But he didn’t answer my question on why there is skill lag.

I am sorry but can we have finally have an official response on this major problem? I am tired of reading similar threads to find an answer but there is none…

Are you guys aware of the skill lag and other lag issues in WvW, and are you guys working on it? Or cant this be fixed and we have to get used to it.

I wanted to try and find out why the game gets skill lag in large fights and on the Vizunah border.. Cause its very annoying.

So I started a ticket to support, they asked me to install some programs to test my connections and see what services I have on, so I did all what they wanted to do and asked some more questions..

But they keep reply me with answers such as copy paste. Now I needed to go on a proxy, but I am telling him this happens to all players on that border, but that person doesn’t respond on that..

Can someone please tell me if this skill lag will ever go away or not? Its so weird that even the support cant help me.

Especially Vizunah border the lag is bad, no idea why..

For me WvW is unplayable too. Desolation server / Vizunah border.

This is amazing stuff you guys have put in.. You don’t only bring fun, you bring old memories and making new ones!

On my first try I got to the raft but then suddently we all got a box and that was the end, I think someone of my party didn’t had continue left!

In my opinion you guys from Anet that made this, deserve a price or something.. its so original and entertaining.. one of a kind!

We were attacking Bay in WvW with around 80-100 people and the enemy showed up with around the same numbers.

Again i was pressing my health skill but that didn’t work at all, but changing to my other weapon was no problem.. But i really need health so i kept on pressing and pressing and pressing…. BOOM Bam! No nothing serious but, my game crashed to the desktop with the error log send to Anet stuff.

Guildwars 2 never crashed for me, this is the first time..

Hope it helped sending the log, or telling my story.. not that anyone ever will care but hey who am i right? I am just a customer.

Hello in large fights in World vs. World almost all of my skills are not working, but the game just plays fluently.

I have played with the options but every setting its the same in big fights, the skills i press wont activate.. well after 20x pressing them they will work.

Dear Anet team, can any of your tech. department give me an explanation of why this is happening? I also see a lot of other users in the map chat complaining about this.

But still! WvW is much more tactical with seeing all of the players! That’s awesome!

They probally only add the achievement rank names as you can get now and put them visible for the enemy.. thats all dont expect much :P

Max quality is for dolby, you should buy a soundcard or turn your system settings to low or medium quality.

Push sliders that work with your system, dont max something you dont have.

They never said anything about ascended gear for this patch.

That’s such a bull what some of you guys are posting. Transfer to a lower tier server because you don’t want the skill lag? Are you even serious..

If this skill lag is a server problem and its temporarily then I am ok with it. But there is nothing Anet is saying about this, if its included In the march update or not, if they are working on it or not.. maybe they don’t even have time or resources to fix this problem..

I have picked my server from the start too, and I don’t want to leave it and all my friends only because the game is not working properly..

FPS is not Anets problem, that’s the users problem.. you need atleast an i5 processor to play WvW on the higher tiers.. I have In big fights 20 fps or so.

But skill lag is crazy.. your protecting your castle and then another group shows up… and im pressing pressing pressing… hmm heal doesn’t work, well lets stand behind a pilar and wait a few seconds lol

Today again, just a small group of Viz were attacking our tower.. i needed endure pain to get in the tower without getting any damage and the skill didnt work! You see its beeing pressed but it wont activate!

As a customer i really want some information about this please! Will this stay? I have not seen any official response on this problem and i am sure alot of people would like some feedback about this ‘gamebreaking’ problem.
