“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Definitely a place for Gravity Well in pvp. It would help immensely with team fights and stomps. Well of Action could prove to be somewhat useful as well if you’re using an interrupt build. Also helps to take out bunkers with a bit more ease.
The others I don’t see myself using except when I play the Living World or do some random open world content.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Mesmer has always been the coolest class concept wise. This won’t change in terms of comparing the profession specializations. Unfortunately, the mesmer “cool factor” has historically been mutually exclusive with “effectiveness”.

well if I was initially right about Mirror with Manipulation reflecting 4s, I’ll definitely be running that heal every time I trait into Chaos. It’s a no brainer.

“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Every profession reveal should have been hosted on Ready-Up, NOT Points of Interest. At least they corrected their mistake. You give Rubi much too much hate…
You’re being a bit dramatic though. They went through all of our utilities, the other shield skill and the new Continuum Shift shatter in addition to 2 traits with hints at even more traits.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
- Master of Manipulation (Mirror) + Mender’s Purity = might just make Mirror a highly competitive heal in the pvp scene considering it’s extremely low CD, the plethora of on-heal runes you can use with it and the ability to have 4 seconds of reflect every 12 seconds… Also remember Mender’s is AOE now, which means more condition clear for teammates.
Intriguing idea. But since Reflection does not stack with itself, I don’t think this combo actually does anything special.
#NoobRemarks It’s less powerful than I thought then. I still think it will be better than it was before with a 12 second CD.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I know this is hell of an old bump, but I figured instead of starting a new thread I could start editing and updating this one.
I’d like to incorporate lockdown videos from other builds/players (like you Ross) so if you guys have any of yer best stuff to submit, please do!
Oh God, submit new vids? I’ll go toughen up my skin for all the heckling, ridicule, and qq I’ll receive. Woe the day I miss a dodge roll, or dodge roll nothing.

I’ll start recording.
You’re such a scrub.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
How does chronomancer fit perfectly with Mesmer?
Mesmers manipulate reality, including time-space via Blink, Portal, and most obviously Time Warp.
+1 for the obvious.
I definitely feel like Chronomancer will be the most perfectly fitting specialization among all the classes!
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I think the chronomancer line will work wonderfully with Inspiration and Chaos!! Support Shatter Mesmers will be a real thing. Boons on boons and ton of alacrity & condition clears!
I’ll definitely be trying it out as one of my first builds!
But is that because chronomancer sounds so incredible strong (and chaos of course) or because you actually think inspiration has a good synergy along with it making it as powerful as other specializations? Because going full support isn’t exactly what’s needed lately due the easy access to healings and boons while still dealing average/good damage (aka celestial).
The only really good synergy I see is the amount of quickness you get from the shield, making it more likely to get your mantra’s off increasing your aoe healing by a lot. The only problem I’m seeing here now is still the problem I have stated in the OP: healing power scaling.
I also hope they don’t screw up the well with bad scaling, because that would mean a support/heal mesmer is never gonna be worth running, but rather a mix of dps and support.
Maybe I’ve put more thought into it than you have, as my focus isn’t on healing. You’ve already stated the obvious weaknesses Mesmers have with healing. My idea was slotting Mesmers in the role of having high sustain while being able to support teammates, similar to the celestial varieties. One with ample condition clears and boon sharing. Here are some of the combinations I’ve thought of based on those 3 trait lines:
- Bountiful Disillusionment + Shattered Conditions + Restorative Illusions = fantastic self-sustain along with team support via boons/condition clear.
- Shatter traits + Chronophantasm = higher up-time of pCaptainAmerica giving allies alacrity and enemies slow while you’re simultaneously supporting yourself and team with shatters. Note, you don’t get quickness: you get alacrity from pCaptain.
- Continuum Shift + X = obviously you can get crazy here with glamours/wells/shatters etc depending on your set up.
- Tides of Time/Gravity Well(plus other slow-causing capabilities from Chrono) + Chaotic Interruption + Illusionary Inspiration = giving away boons like Oprah gives away cars. Aoe healing from MoD charge is just icing on an already sweetened cake.
These are just a few synergies that I’ve thought of.
Just because there’s classes that do similar things doesn’t make it meaningless for Mesmer to do it too. It just means that more classes can fit more roles depending on their preferred play style.

I LOVE the shield, but I hope the phantasm is fixed to summon onto our target properly. I think they should changed our other block-summons to come into line with that.

Getting 3 phantasms out quickly without one of them dying is a one-trick pony worthy of punishment. If you allow a Mesmer to do this without such punishment, then you deserve to get rekt.

Must-Have for DE:
- Power Shatter in its most classic sense.
- Power Lockdown
With Chronomancer providing a lot of clone management efficiency, I think well have another option.
Two builds that can definitely go without DE:
- Confusion build using Mistrust and Chaos/Illusions lines.
- Condition shatter taking Chaos/Chrono/Illusions. Or even forgoing Chaos for Mistrust and bleed/confusion crits.
- Any build that takes Chrono would be able to possibly survive without DE.
Disclaimer: This is all fun speculation. We still don’t know completely the traits provided in Chronomancer nor do we know everything other professions will receive so let’s not all get into heated debates.
^ this should be in my new signature until HoT comes out.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
But we know how the trait lines will be revamped now to a large extent and chronomancer still looks like being absolutely necessary, far better than any other single line.
With the trait revamp, there are a lot of strong viable builds even without the Chronomancer line. Chrono is amazing, but based on what we know, Mesmer will be strong regardless. My friends and I have theory crafted a lot, and I’m pretty confident that Chrono won’t be OP compared to other lines.
I do disagree with Pyro in that I think Condition Shatter can do well without Chaos, and in fact, would be even better with Chrono due to higher clone management efficiency.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Like I said, MtD Shatter is about to be the best shatter build in our tool belt with all the crazy condition applications. Unlike power shatter, each shatter is just as potent as the next (to an extent).
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Although, this also depends on how fast influence is gained from solo players and parties doing arenas.
The influence from doing pvp isn’t very large.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I am pretty sure they said it reflected projectiles today?
Maybe he misspoke, but based on what we know, Tides of Time simply absorbs projectiles, stuns enemies, recharges itself and gives allies quickness.
Actually, Robert didn’t misspoke. He said that the shield #5, does in fact, absorbs projectiles. I remember it clearly, since I was quite disappointed to hear that. Though, to be fair, I understand it completely.
Ah ok then great. I think it would be kind of OP with all the access to reflects we have now. More so than ever. Absorbing projectiles is fair enough. And who knows, maybe the shield CD will incorporate it reflecting a la focus trait?? That’s yet to be seen.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I’m more worried about other classes whining and moaning until we get nerfed. Chrono interrupt will be painful and annoying to play against, even if it isn’t actually that overpowered in practice
So your suggestion is a watered down version that’s ineffective? While this is a legit worry, we should criticize them for unnecessary nerfs and keep the focus on that.

As a Mesmer main, I disagree that every Mesmer will need to spec into Chronomancer or gtfo. There are some dangerous combinations already in place without Chrono. You can achieve highest overall dps by going into Dom/Dueling/Illusions. You also have lockdown with Dom/Dueling/Chaos being devastating.
Chronomancer offers an alternative way of dps via efficient recharge management, but you give up some dps in exchange of supportive traits (wells). Yes, there’s some crazy insane things you can do with F5, but that’s a one-trick pony. Or maybe a one-trick Pegasus is more appropriate.
Note, this is really all just fun speculation as we don’t know everything we need to in order to make justified conclusions.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
@Kelthien:
Heck, we may even have a Phantasm-Shatter hybrid thanks to Chronomancer.
- F5 – set
- Summon phantasms w/ shatter resummon trait
- Shatter phantasms
- New phantasms unload their attacks
- Shatter phantasms
- F5 – reset
Might be a Phantasm build centered less on keeping phantasms up and more churning through them.
Back when GW2 was in beta, there were whole threads on trying to get the optimal balance of shatter timing so you could benefit from shatters and get potentially more attacks out of your phantasms through proper timing of shatters and resummons.
I think they’ve done a good job at this already with some of the traits they’ve given us in terms of recharge rates. This includes Persistence of Memory in the Illusions trait line.
Taking both Chrono and Illusions will give you a ridiculous amount of uptime on shattering and illusion summoning. I actually for see condition shatter benefiting the MOST from this since taking Dueling/Illusions lends itself to conditions. New meta here we come. Cho said it here first.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Aye, we still need to see the actual finished Chronomancer Specialization’s traits … but I think we can all agree that with the current information it is looking like there will be several quite viable ways to play a shatter mesmer beyond our current simple choice of “Cond or Power Shatter”.
Well, you’re forgetting the support aspect of Inspiration’s Shattered Conditions. It was strong before, but placement (and no IP) made it hard to take. I can already imagine some interesting Chaos/Chrono/Inspiration or Chrono/Inspiration/Dueling. I could even see Chrono/Inspiration/Illusions. So many ways to be supportive now!!
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
My question is, from a shatter Mesmer’s perspective.
Does the new Alacrity (66% cooldown recharge speed up), outweigh the new Illusions basic minor trait, Shattered Strength which gives a flat 30% shatter cool down reduction, along with might stacks? Will shatter mesmers traiting into Chronomancer be required to play less aggressively?
This is the big discussion I for see coming into the forums. I think first and foremost, we need to lose the concept of “classic” shatter being top dog. It is no more. With IP being base line and the ability to take 3 entire trait trees, we are simply going to have to wait and see which variety of shatter works best. And now, we have plenty to choose from unlike ever before!
That being said, it appears as though Chrono gives us an alternative to Deceptive Evasion. Alacrity and the traits that retain clones upon shatter both do this effectively. The clone management is very nice upon first glance.
You can choose to go Dueling, Chrono and Domination/Illusions OR you can choose one of Dueling/Chrono and take the others. However, I think it is true that going Chrono will miss out on some dps in exchange for more support (this is an assumption considering traits haven’t been revealed). Don’t forget the lesser traits in Dueling that help to give more overall dps.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
- Note that you can pick glamours too (they’re select-able in the Utility slot).
- CONFUSION PULSES OMFGFGGGGGGGG
Snippy
How do you get the confusion pulses? Sorry dumb question.
From the recorded videos that were played, confusion would do X amount of damage per second and would do more damage when a skill was activated.
Well that just made dueling even cooler … I may very well go back to rocking my Rabid or Rampager’s sets …
Oh the thing I was asking was, where does exactly the confusion come from? as far as i can tell none of the chronomancer’s skills can inflict confusion? So do we rely on f2 and traiting for confusion application?
From what I’m seeing, Chronomancer isn’t the trait line for confusion. It’s the trait line for recharge/clone management and team support. Think of it as the replacement of shatter recharge in Illusions.
Unless one of the wells is ethereal or you’re using shield, you won’t get much confusion except from other trait lines. And there’s plenty there…
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Just typed up a long response that was accidentally deleted, but here’s my TL:DR
- The POI is about the lore and story developments. PvP is not her forte so give her a break. lol POI is probably the wrong placement for this type of release.
- Chronomancer is great for shattering AND great for phantasm support builds.
- I’m excited for all the variety we’re going to have with builds. Seems you can go multiple ways for power shatter, support shatter, etc etc etc!
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
This definitely makes up for no new main-hand for me.
I can’t wait to get more details on how it works.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Are there no more suggestions as to how the booster would work?
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Give Phantasms or Illusions (leaning on the former) Xs of Resistence and Aegis every Xs when you go into Inspiration instead of retaliation. This solves the problem of clones dying too quickly and gets rid of our need to have clone death traits ever.
Attacking a clone instead of the mesmer is punishment in and of itself since you’re wasting a CD and time/energy on the wrong target. Anything more is just sprinkles on top.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
only serves to promote shatter as the go-to mode of playing mesmer. Even moreso than it already is.
Considering every profession uses its class mechanic, I don’t think this is the worst thing ever. There are 3 distinct Mesmer playstyles: phantasm, shatter and lockdown (which is inherently a mixture of the previous two). Everything else is a flavor of one of these styles. That can be condition, mantra, PU, zerk, etc. While condition phantasm builds took a hit with clone death traits leaving, zerker phantasm builds are unchanged. I honestly don’t understand why everyone is so up in arms about Debilitating Dissipation…
The rewind mechanic will potentially pigeonhole mesmers into burst machines that have to execute a perfect sequence of buttons or they’re sub par. Naturally it can and will be used as a bait for burst or reset on a particularly powerful cooldown but these will be far and in between.
I’m glad you use the word “potentially”. While that might be what it’s mostly used for considering the most gamemode metas reward high burst, I can think of other uses for support and utility. Use your imagination.
PvE is a zerkfest rush to deal the most dmg possible while mashing the most buttons available and while Alacrity can facilitate more spam, I doubt it will make much difference.
This is a critique on PvE mechanics/design and only tangentially related. i.e. the problem isn’t exactly what they’re giving classes, it’s the environment of PvE content.
I currently view it as a glorified bomb dispenser. We get our bombs out and blow them. Stuff happens, people die and if they don’t, we die.
That’s sad that you see it that way considering I think Mesmer is very multifaceted. Especially now with these changes. You can now really set up your bombs or have things to do in between bombs being dispensed like phantasms, interrupts and support.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
So you have to go for a shatter build/shatter clones if you take Chronomancer?
This is a simple answer: no.
But if majority of chronomancer’s skills are effective with shattering, would there be a way for shattering for utility or defensively not just for raw damage?
This is quite the leap in assumptions. We were given ONE minor trait that says you gain Alacrity when shattering. Gaining increased recharge helps with overall dps as well as defensive capabilities. As they said in the blog post, Chronomancer has a lot of dual capabilities.
Or would the shatter builds/shatter clones in general, be able to provide survivability/utility and not just damage unlike the current shatter builds?
I don’t quite get this question, but if you’ve look at the new revamp in traits you can see that there will be a huge increase of variety in shatter builds even without taking Chronomancer. See the Chaos & Inspiration trait lines.
In a shatter build, as soon as you have 3 clones/phantasms up do you shatter immediately?
I’m no shatter pro, but it’s all based on timing. The burst on 3-4 clones is probably better than a single phantasm attack at that point. Waiting for the phantasm attack risks the highly likely possibility that all your clones, including the phantasm, dies from AOE anyway.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Ok… well, everything looks very cool and interesting, but I’m hoping the addition of F5 isn’t the ‘something just as good’ they promised for professions getting only an offhand. I’ll hold off on any criticism till tomorrow, i need to see more specifics.
Well to be honest, it is just as good considering we are able to do some very interesting things with this skill. It opens A LOT of different skill combinations for us.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Wondering if these wells will interrupt actions. I guess we can look at the Revenant’s displacement skills which I don’t think did. Hmm
I’m excited though. Precognition needs high skill and coordination in order to be of best use. You can time bursts perfectly. Recall is alright. Might be nice for displacing people off points. Gravity is just delicious!
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I don’t see what it’s lack of stealth has to do with the quote where I stated how it could summon an illusion. That was aimed at Shatters, not PU.
He said this because stealth on torch adds ALOT of survivability and the ability to set up shatters better than any other weapon set. This is why Double ranged and GS/Sword/Torch are the top notch weapon sets for shatter currently.
You neglected to touch on the sped up cooldowns which could be immensely helpful in a shatter build since it could enable you to summon illusions more often … even synergizing with some of our other traits that do the same.
You do have a point here, but we’ll have to wait and see. There will be a TON more variety when it comes to shatter builds and the weapons you can take. While I’m not sure shield will add to this, we can’t say 100% either way. The shield is definitely made for interrupt builds and hybrids.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Was the slow condition ever mentioned?
Just as the mesmer is a unique take on a spellcasting class, our chronomancer does much more than distribute speed to allies while slowing down enemies.
It was definitely implied that this specialization will give quickness to allies and give enemies slow.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I just want to know if Pyro still thinks 90% of Mesmers will NOT be using Shield because our other offhands are simply much much better. #shade Love you!!
Thoughts on everything soon.
I think shield will have a place in WvW groups. I don’t think shield will have a place in PvE at all, in any way. I don’t think shield will have a place on a shatter build, obviously not on a PU build, and probably not on other condie builds either. It will definitely have a place in interrupt builds.
fixed
Being that it will see use in interrupt builds as well as wvw, I think we can both say that shield will get decent use.
Tides of Time is so legit.
In terms of PvE, I think you might be underestimating Tides of Time. In dungeon content and fractals, the Mesmer is constantly switching utilities and sometimes weapons. Feedback is still arguably better that Tides of Time, but the quickness provided is always nice.
Even without the use of alacrity, chronomancer shield skills have special mechanics that allow them to be used more frequently when played correctly. Skilled chronomancers will be able to maximize the effectiveness of these new weapon skills to suit a variety of playstyles.
Weren’t we only shown 1 skill from the shield? It’s possible that we could still get a phantasm along with it, but I find it hard to see how it would function as described in the above quote. That being said, there are still probably better weapons for shatter.

What? Are they unhappy that they are getting a large default Life Force Pool? Or perhaps getting protection when you come out of Death Shroud from your second health pool wasn’t any good :-p
Some people simply aren’t thinking that hard about:
- All the new possibilities and their synergies
- The fact that everything is still in flux … an actual quote from ArenaNet.
Oh well.
I’ve been reading the necro threads recently. Let me assure you, they are hurting REALLY bad with the revamp. I feel awful for them. Along with Mesmer, they’ve always be on the periphery of viability, and they really got the short end of the stick with this revamp. It’s so bad, the forum specialist is even doing a special report for them. LOL
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I don’t think even this would make me take it over MtD, which will now apply 8x Torment on a 3 Clone shatter, but at least it would have the benefit of being usable at range.
This one definitely needs work to compete with MtD and MoF though!
While I think MtD and MoF are “tough competition”, I don’t think the confusion build I suggest is unviable compared to the other two. The point isn’t for grandmaster traits to in a way compete with one another but to offer an equally viable build defining alternative. eta – It’s worth saying that all Mesmer builds are inherently shatter/interrupt/phantasm hybrids in a sense with this revamp. BB would lend itself to being an interrupt/phantasm condi build with the occasional shatter here and there.
Take into consideration also that MtD shatter won’t have confusion duration increase, making their confusion procs aka “MtD’s Idiot Tax” pretty insignificant.

I think the 5s ICD makes more since now that we have Blinding Dissipation and the torch/Staff CD traits giving us access to MANY more blinds.
I’m loving this trait a lot more now with all the confusion buffs. Without an ICD, it would definitely be OP imo. I know I’ll be testing out a Mistrust, Blinding Befuddlement and Chaotic Interruption build with all the following Confusion applications:
Mistrust, CI, BB, Chaos Armor, Shatters, Illusion crits, Mesmer crits.
You’ll be a confusion rekting monster while on Staff…
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Mesmers now completely lack and attrition playstyle or a style capable of spreading conditions quickly to a large amount of people. They also killed Condi glamours for super speed of all things? I never used conditions on my glamours but I’ve seen it in PvP though that build is also dead along with retaliation thanks to these changes though it died a long time ago with the first condi nerfs to appease the golden classes. Anet is just removing Condi builds all together instead of nerfing them this time around.
This is completely untrue. Have you heard of MtD? Have you used Illusionary Elasticity before? Both of these are rhetorical questions, because obviously you haven’t if you think Mesmers won’t have the ability to spread conditions and have an attrition playstyle.
The issue of clones dying too quickly is a completely separate issue altogether. Alternative condition pressure that isn’t reliant on RNG Debilitating Dissipation is better imo, and that is what we’re getting with all the other condition buffs.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Everything in the Chaos line is pretty kitten intense, and I love it. I feel like going into Chaos will make Mirror, Blink and Arcane Thievery the BASIC set up, and I’m so here for it!
But back on topic, I really dig the new Staff trait. Gives us very defensive capabilities.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
MINOR
Protected Phantasms : increase distortion to 1.5s and get rid of the ridiculous ICD.
Phantasmal Healing : make the healing increase AOE for allies.GRANDMASTER
Illusive Illusions: Phantasms are given Aegies/Resistance every x amount of seconds. Balance the recharge as needed. This would be absolutely huge for phantasm builds.
ALSO, someone in another thread just gave an awesome suggestion of a phantasm trait that would cause your shatters to not shatter phantasms. This would fit perfectly with the “Illusive” part of the GM trait I suggested. It obviously makes your shatters weaker, but that’s a fair price for depending on AI for dmg.
I think that alone would give phantasms a better place in all game formats but wouldn’t make them OP in PvP/WvW.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Love love LOVE it! This will help Mesmers tremendously in the survivability aspect and bring us up to par with our big brother, the Thief.
And this also buffs the possibility for confusion specs as it adds a reliable blind that we can definitely proc every 5 seconds for blinding befuddlement. Very happy indeed.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Thanks for the interesting thread here darling. Happy to see people interested in discussing these new traits for the Mesmer class in a constructive way!
I actually think this is a pretty solid trait. My initial reaction to this gm is simply that it helps to make GS a quicker more offensive weapon than it already is. It’s not build defining (which is why it shouldn’t be a gm), but it does help you to add a lot more pressure at a higher velocity because your CDs on 2-5 are decreased at such a higher rate. If you’re spawning clones and only AAing then you’re a bad player in any situation. Now let me take the OP’s original post statement by statement:
1) It only works for 1 specific type of weapon.
Most weapon CD traits only work for 1 weapon. The revamped Malicious Sorcery is the only weapon CD trait that doesn’t necessarily need you to wield a scepter for it to be of use to you. At least it seems that way to me.
2) GS and the bonus stat suggests it’s for power builds.
GS has always been a power-based weapon. Again, it makes sense for the GS CD trait to tie into this.
3) It promotes you and your clones spamming autoattacks. So clearly not optimal for either shatter or phantasm builds.
Like I’ve said before, if you’re mindlessly AA-ing and not doing anything else, you’re a bad player. This trait helps your CDs on your entire GS weapon, hence it helps with both shattering and phantasms. There will be points where you are kitting and AAing. There will be points in between other skill usage that you use your AA. This all helps to make your weapon quicker.
So suddenly, u have this interesting synergy between the new Greatsword Training + Sharper Images + the new Confusing Combatants.
While this sounds like a novel idea, I haven’t really seen a decent Rampager build ever. The trait spread is just… weird. I think Countless once upon a time used it on his signet build? Difference is that he wasn’t even using GS.
So in the end, this gm trait MIGHT play an interesting role to give birth to a new build type completely, GS/Staff condi hybrid.
Traitwise, it could be Dom/Duel/Chaos with Greatsword Training (duh!), Deceptive Evasion and Chaotic Interruption.
Solid theory crafting here! You make a good case. IE, condis on crit, and CI with Great Sword Training could possibly be a decent hybrid phantasm build. I see this having most potential in WvW roaming. I fully expect another post with videos showing you rekting the competition when the release comes out.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I actually really like it to be honest. It works really well in any shatter build in order to speed up clone production. It also helps somewhat in phantasm builds because there will come a point where you need a Distortion or sometimes Diversion in which case you might shatter a phantasm.
I LOVE YOUR OPTION B. <3 <3
I don’t know though, I haven’t put much thought into it. Just my initial impression. Thanks for the thread.

You know it’s bad when the PvP Specialist has to come go to a profession sub-forum… btw, why haven’t we gotten profession sub forum specialists yet?!
Best wishes to the Necros. As a Mesmer main, I know how our classes have constantly been maligned by bad mechanics, bugs and non-nonsensical traits combinations.
Not all professions were covered with specialists iirc, this is why there is a delay…
That said, Gates is being really supportive here, and he deserves the recognition
I know they aren’t covered, but they were promised to be. Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I’m pretty sure they wanted someone to cover every profession sub forum as well so that they could get solid organized feedback from each profession.
What Gates is doing now is exactly what they envisioned in the first place when it comes to forum specialists.
