I can agree the achievement and title can be considered ‘map completion’ although the game defines map completion as region specific, but the gift of exploration definatly requires WvW, really pretty clear
I got it as a drop at Claw of Jormag, was gonna sell it for over 20G on the TP but it just too funny, so I kept it. I still laugh at how huge it is when I whip it out for action.

you get two gifts of exploration, so two legendaries possible per character.
at least as far as i know, the gifts are account bound, so you could get more from other characters. right?

a point was brought up (you need the 500 badges of honor) similar to my statement that, yes let the 100% world achievement (and title) require PvE only, but keep the gift of exploration require WvW. Considering the badges of honor requirement, it really makes no sense not to require the WvW vistas, pois, etc in order to craft a legendary.
I seriously don’t understand how people are having such a hard time with this. I’ve been able to do it multiple times on multiple characters, and usually when our side is in last place in the WvW map.
Same here, but some people are really turned off by PvP for various reasons. i love it, but i can understand how some people might be intimidated or just frustrated by PvP as the potential for unbalanced teams and such is high. I would not mind them removing WvW from monthly, and WvW from 100% map ONLY if they make a separate reward/achievement/loot for those who do complete the WvW requirements and tasks. Of course the rewards must be worthwhile, useful and/or valuable.
EDIT: i do think reward for making legendary should still include WvW vistas, skill pint and POIs (also should add dungeons too im my opinion), i mean it is a ‘legendary’.

I still play my level 80 engineer (flamethrower at DE events FTW) and am getting pretty decent loot borderline good loot, i got a lot of rares this weekend easily much more than usual plus several lodestones (2 charged off sparks in a little over an hour and 1 corrupted at jormag, one onyx not sure where just noticed it in my inventory).
To me it is clear that 1)vet/champ loot is broken, there can be no argument against the fact that the fix did not work. 2) some people have DR stuck on their accounts.
I can only offer my play style as hope it helps. i travel around the map a lot, do orr for 30minutes, do the frozen maw (usually get a level 80 rare there), kill the destoyer, kill jormag, kill any random champs i find, do the temples to open up the spark spawns, other random DE. Also i spend at least half my time in WvW. Maybe because i move around a lot and go in and out of WvW, my DR resets more often?
If DR wasnt such a mystery than we would know how to avoid/reset it.

There was some kind of update yesterday, but I didn’t see any patch notes. I’ll check it again.
Played about 4 hours today, between Orr, the frozen maw, fractals and WvW I got about 8 rares drops. Second time in a row I got a rare 80 at the frozen maw. So in short, my drops seem just fine, maybe it is because I mix it up a lot, I move around a lot, go in and out of WvW many times. I hope this helps those who are have the terrible drop rates.
That website has made finding groups at off hours a piece of cake.

I’ve had at least 5 drop, one today and the previous was the charzooka (20G) was my most valuable and I have about 400 hours played. I am not counting ones I’ve got in WvW or chests or dungeons.

Ive noticed a bump in people on Ferg crossing, try joining a guild if you need people to help with events and such

it is really sad that there are so many hacks/bot/cheats out there for this game right now. the best we can do is just bring it to the dev attention and hope that they take action.
they also drop in WvW, of course they are much rarer than rare

I agree, if anything they listened to all the complaints last time there was a sale and put character slots up this time. I would love of they did one day sales every Saturday, like Macy’s.
I agree with the previous poster, if you can return it, I would. That CPU is not going to cut it.
I got to agree with my commander Lukain, this is some of the best WvW I’ve played in. I wonder if all three servers can keep up this intensity.
One disclaimer, if and when they nerf the life steal food, you might need to switch from FT/rifle to maybe p/s /FT.
Glad you like it, I’ve been playing since launch, def more a casual player compared to some. This game Is fantastic, I love WvW. My advice, join an guild that is active in WvW, really adds to the enjoyment

I know what you are saying man. I’ve been called out on here for saying my laptop gets great performance (msi gt60, i7 3610qm, 680m, 14 gb ram, ssd), I run max settings, game runs great even in WvW.
What drivers are you using, some people are reporting issues with the latest nvidia drivers, try rolling back?
Depends on what play style you like, grenades have range and require active targeting, flamethrower is much closer range and takes longer to kill. I am flamethrower/rifle build, as the previous poster said, use omnom pie and you’ll be just about unkillable
As for aggro, a large part of the calculation is proximity and armor rating.
The thing is, I’m geared for damage so not a lot of toughness. And also I always try to abuse my 1500 range. So it’s not about it.
Granted, this happens mostly in “bad” parties that are clueless and deal no damage.
I carry groups through dungeons.

if you can be patient, wait for the scavenger hunt. it has been confirmed many times over it is in development
I’m on Ferg and im out there fighting. out guild groups hold up quite well against the smaller zergs, but holy cow has Kain grown in numbers. been on here since day 1 and never seen number like that for them. I’m not going anywhere though, i have FC server pride, once we get to fight more even servers, it will be our time to shine again.
i wonder if some of these ‘fixes’ will be in the Feb WvW update.
I can easily see a big change in the avatars/character models being made. If there is less data to load per character, they should load faster on less optimal computer, no? If one of the changes in feb is WvW specific armor appearances (with a few options dependent on rank, also new addition) then this could be one of the fixes we will see soon. just maybe
They really should have explained combos better in-game.
totally agree, i have been playing this game a good amount and really just now start to notice combos. is it ever talked about/introduced in game?

I can easily picture new dynamic event chains in the existing areas that are many events (thus a chain), very difficult, scale to number of players, and have very worthwhile rewards (i.e. always at least 1 exotic). They can have announcements in lions arch for specific event chains starting, either ‘explorer or ambassador NPCs’ making announcements about ‘something happening’ in this zone. If the events are fun, challenging and rewarding, people will do them.
I like the idea but don’t think flooding the market with exotics is the best reward structure. Better yet is they give you tokens that you can use to buy new gear skins after a decent amount. You could also exchange a lot of them for an account bound lodestone. And there would be a rare chance (not super rare) to have trade-able town clothes, temporary in-town auras, or other cosmetic items to drop.
You are most likely right, a token system might be better and also encourage participation in all the new event chains since they could all give you progress towards the reward you want. Maybe provide rare drops and tokens for completing these new events.

I believe the whole loot issue is due to DR, I can make peace with RNG mechanics, but when you proceed to make it not random anymore by putting DR on individual accounts, then problems are bound to arise. My loot has been very good lately but I believe the reports in here and again believe DR is to blame.
To resolve this, please provide more transparency for resetting DR. I fully understand the bit issues, I was sickened by the sites I saw offering bot programs online. Truely one of the lowest form of gamers. However do not punish your real fan base, your very customers to stop these vile cheaters, use better bot detection software. Something like dot use a nuclear bomb to kill a house mouse or something…

They stated very recently that after sigils, they will work on weapon stats for kits. Of course this means kits get a damage nerf again.
Try eating an omnom pie or ghost, won’t help hit better or kill faster but it’s effect is very noticeable
It all depend on how you want to play, you want condition damage or burst? Do you want to use kits or not? Obviously power/toughness/vitality armor will help keep you alive, you can increase your offensive traits with your trinkets and food. Rifle based static discharge is popular build, I’ve been using flamethrower and enjoy it, lots of people love the shield so they roll pistol shield. Try what you like, then see how you fare
In my experience, they are great farming events with a couple other people around, other help since we don’t deal much damage. However our AoE options allow us to tag and help kill lots of mobs. I def do not find my engineer to be squishy at all, use the right armor, weapon, buffs and food, I am pretty much unkillable in any PvE situation.
Yeah, you really have to use it a good bit to get to know its limitations, mind you these are not weapon based issues as in skill or something, but faulty code or just aim old bugs
Just get in a group and get killing, 500 badges really is not that much. Sooooo much easier than some lodestone requirements
Transmuting a legendary, makes it no longer ‘legendary’ class. I believe it adopts the class of the stats you keep, ie most likely exotic. So there’s that…
