Rangers REALLY are subpar at end level content, WvW, dungeons, fractals, gauntlet and bosses…
I like my Ranger in open world PvE too and he is okay/good in sPvP but in the endgame the class is very hard mode compared to Guardian/Thief for example.
I level up characters in WvW which are under levelled with the ^ sign on them who only have blue gear on…
Guess what? They hardly ever die and collect loads of loot bags by killing other players…
You argument is totally wrong and invalid…additional stats in GW2 really make very little difference in performance…
What has the most effect is player skill, dodging at the right time, choosing the correct traits/skills, knowing where to stand and particular to WvW being able to read the battlefield…
Well worth farming, in the 45 mins they last, I am completely filling my loot bags 2-3 times at least, yes I after keep breaking off to sell/vendor all the stuff even after using deposit collectibles!
Create a character of what ever profession you are interested in…
Once you have completed intro…go to sPvP…icon at top
Your level 80! Can change your traits/skills for free as much as you want, have any equipment you want…
Experiment with all 8 character classes.
Which ever you like best at 80, start levelling up in PvE/WvW.
Also, DON’T DELETE ANY CHARACTER unless you need the character slot…there is no reason too, you can basically change everything except race…so no need for delete…
I have never deleted any character ever in GW…hence have all 8 character classes…
I have worked out, on average I can play GW2 between 14 – 28 hrs a week…
But, that is not going to be enough time to complete clockwork chaos and there has already been a few living stories that I have not had time to fully complete…
They need to tone down the time required or extend the Living Story to 3 weeks/monthly…
Perhaps having a big content update at the start which you have 4 weeks to do really and 2 weeks later have a smaller content update with not much to do, just wraps up the story. They could put all the balancing, quality of life, misc updates in the smaller content update to pad it out.
I think no matter how they introduce ascended armour/weapons there’s going to be dozens and dozens of complaint threads…
Haven’t they already dropped heavy hints its going to be from getting crafting to 500 and then crafting ascended weapons and armour? Which are going to cost a arm and a leg, so if you can sell them on the TP, going to be very, very expensive gold wise?
You missed loads and loads of content updates, which were temporary, so you will never ever, ever get to play them…bad luck…some of them were really, really good too…
But we get new updates every 2 weeks so join the Living Story train, to not miss any more.
There has been a lot of good stuff, especially recently. My favourite Living Story parts are:-
1) Flame & Frost dungeon.
2) Rox & Bram instances.
3) Southsun.
4) Gauntlet.
5) Pavilion.
5) Cutscene in seedy DR bar.
6) Invasions.
The Living Story updates are definitely getting better and better…
I suspect ‘something’ is coming that the vast majority of players want but will be expensive to get and that will act as big balance on the economy…I have seen dev hints at this…

The recent injection of LOTS of gold into the economy is why gem prices have reached 1g=18gems…
All those players who complained about lack of loot, don’t understand economics, more gold is a illusion, because of inflation even through you have more gold it will buy you less…
Anet have not changed how gems/gold work at all.
What’s changed is loads of players have more money and a lot of them have choosen to buy gems with it…
Wrong. Ranger is fine in dungeons as long as you’re not an awful wrongbow/bear 1200 range camper. Try getting in to meleewith your 1h sword and you’ll do fine.
Nope…your wrong…I have all 8 characters lvl 80 and Rangers are subpar compared to the other 7 in dungeons, no matter what weapon you use.
They have said it takes a team 2 months to do a 2 week content update, they have 4 teams.
So expect to see new skills/traits in 2 months from when they start talking about it…
Probably, one of the September updates. Everyone may have noticed there as been no major changes to the meta (balance/nerfing) the last 2 updates. This is because they are not changing the meta until after the PAX PvP tournament.
But, there are going to be SERIOUS changes to the meta after that…
I agree on his point that sPvP needs to appeal more to the majority of GW2 players…the 99%, if the majority find sPvP fantastic fun then a esports will evolve naturally from sPvP and Anet will find it easy to promote…
Atm…all the chat I hear from other players is Anet trying to ‘force’ esports on us and a lot of players just don’t like sPvP enough to get involved at that level.
Anet should concentrate on making PvP a lot of fun and building up the GW2 playerbase who play it.
I enjoy messing about with different builds in sPvP but you eventually realise there’s only perhaps 1 or 2 builds for each class that are viable…you don’t have enough diversity or enough interesting skills/traits and you are too restricted in what skills/traits you can choose. This results in boring/non-competitive play as well.
Can I turn off skill recharge too and have a dev menu?
Seriously, a pretty good video…but I would like to have seen footage of the dev playing exactly as a player plays, with other players and harder PvE content trying to kill him…
The video wouldn’t have been so smooth then…and lots of wp from dieing, well messing with his combo’s…
I think your best on equipment going all zerker and if you need something different adjust your traits, its the cheaper option, than changing your equipment.

Unless Anet has changed ideas, they’re not planning to directly buff/ nerf anything until the PAX tournament is over, at the end of this month. This means that we’ll probably won’t get anything until the next patch.
The queens speech is announcing the exile of all Rangers from Kryta because they are a ‘embaressment’ to all the true heros, Guardians, Thiefs, Mesmers etc…and are just not needed any more by anybody.
All the people saying Rangers are great/okay are just wearing blinkers or have not got any other characters, I have all 8 and my Ranger dies more than the other 7, collects less loot, takes longer to do stuff and does rubbish dps compared to the other 7.
If you are playing Ranger to give yourself a ‘harder’ playing mode fine…

But every 2 weeks you get a new content update, so get on the train and try to tune in every 2 weeks to try the new stuff out…
And sure, players from all servers take advantage of siege and run away from fights, but my experience has been that SFR will stack a ton of siege in a t3 tower and then from a mixture of idiocy and honour if we’re defending we won’t even use them half the time because we find ACs just … bleh.
Haha.. did you ever played against SFR? They use siege as every other server… i honestly just see some random twinks without guilds from SFR, who didn’t use siege at defending something… even that’s a rare thing to see.

actually one of SFR big weaknesses and why we can’t beat Viz. We are terrible at using siege and defending in general.
The last 2 times vs Viz we have known Viz were coming with a BIG push Thurs/Fri, yet totally failed defending anything because we have not got the patience to build loads of AC and man them for hours on end…
