Mind Stab: it often happens that this spell roots me in place. The recent patch lowered the aftercast root but, for some odd reason, I’m getting rooted longer.

How to reproduce? Keep running and use Mind Stab; when you are pulling out the sword from the ground, your character sometimes gets rooted (it’s more like your character doesn’t respond to commands and stays still, even though you are still moving).

It’s annoying when I have to keep running but get stopped by using this spell. Please, look into it. (It happens more often when in combat)

With the new patch, for the sake of “build diversity”, I decided to try out a build based on interruption and condition removal, hoping something useful could come out of this.

Domination:
- Halting strike: damage on interruption (now deals decent damage)
- Greatsword training: reduced CD on GS skills, especially on Illusionary Wave that knockbacks and interrupts
- Harmonious mantras: 1 more mantra charge
Duelling:
- Protected mantras: 400 toughness while casting is nice
- Deceptive evasion: clone on dodge
Inspiration:
- Mender’s purity: remove a condition when you heal
- Restorative mantras: heal allies when you cast a mantra

Utilities:
- Ether Feast: heals a lot
- Null field: creates and ethereal field that removes conditions
- Mantra of resolve: removes 2 conditions
- Mantra of distraction: dazes on use
- Time Warp: quickness good, alternatively you could go with Moa for the interrupt (but the spell sucks kittens)

Runes:
- Centaur runes: grant swiftness on heal (10s CD)

I tried to synergize interruption with mantras with healing with condition removal: the idea was that by casting Mantra of distraction, you interrupted your foe, applied vulnerability, damaged him, healed yourself (and automatically dispelled conditions on you) and received swiftness.

This was the idea at least. However, Restorative mantras procs on “preparing” the mantra and not on using the charges, making this combo pretty useless or, at the very best, occasional.

Now, I understand that proccing the heal on every charge might be OP (If you had 4 mantras ready and were specced deep in the domination tree, you could heal a total of 4*3 = 12 times), but if you put a CD on this heal, like kitten and, if still OP, reduced the amount healed, it could be viable (Beside that some mantra charges have more than 1s CD)

Suggestion:
Make “Restorative mantras” proc only on “using” (and not preparing) the mantras, put an internal CD of ca 4s and, if still overpowered(Rofl), reduce the amount healed (or viceversa). However, I don’t think it would be that devastating since very few people use mantras, considering they are less versatile than other utilities and, in general, are “dull”.

Even if you didn’t play this exact build but another one using the inspiration tree, you could still gain the benefit of using at least one mantra for the mantra => heal => condition removal chain.

What would this change bring?
- People would be using mantras “slightly” more often
- Mesmers would have an easier access to condition removal
- Build diversity, as you wished

Taking into account the recent nerf on blurred frenzy and Illusion celerity, I think it would be enough fair.

What do you fellow mesmers think?

Dungeon Berserker Builds that aren't Shatter?

There WAS phantasm build dealing shocking damage with berserker gear, but after the recent patch, shatter is the most viable. Main reasons are:
Illusion Celerity: 20% reduced cooldown on clone(and therefore phantasm) generating skills is too far in the illusion trait, making it no longer easily accessible
Vengeful Images: retaliantion on phantasms is no longer permanent but lasts 5s after you spawn them
Blurred frenzy: cooldown increased by 20% and immunity changed to evasion (now we are affected by retaliation damage when in blur)

Also, unless you run a shatter build, sword skills now have a 20% increased CD (Leap is a clone generating skill too).

After the patch got applied this evening, I started getting lag again.

I’ve been playing peacefully for weeks and now the lag has got back haunting me. How annoying, just crashed; the error code is always the same.

It’s pointless to say that I didn’t modify anything on my pc and I’ve played without lag up until before I downloaded the new patch, today.

As far as gear is concerned, which is the main stat I should aim for? I see that engineers deal both direct and condition damage, so I guess a Power & cond. damage gear could do, but what about critical chance and critical damage? How much are those two stats valued over them? Is crit more important than power? Do I need a certain % of crit damage at anytime (like 50%) ?

Hi there

I just started an engineer out of curiosity and it reminded me a lot of a type of character I used to play in an old rpg game of 2001 (Arcanum).

Now, there are so many options available and I’ll surely end up playing all kinds of builds but I would be pleased if you could briefly introduce me to the engineer profession.

Taking into account that my aim is mainly solo pve:
1) Can you suggest me some builds that focus on elixir gun and another that focuses on flamethrower (or, if possible, both)? I’m a chemist irl

2) What are the best options for pve? Are turrets viable? How much useful are they?

3) Gadgets: do you use them at all? They sound fun but they are on relatively long cds.

4) What are the main roles of an engineer and what gear is mainly preferred? Do you suggest going with gc gear or the survivability isn’t enough?

5) Belt tools: do you use them often or occasionally? Are they worth going deep in tools traits?

6) How do you manage elixirs? Do you suggest having very different utility skills (A kit, an elixir and a gadget/turret) or, depending on the build, focus on some and exclude all the others?

7) Could you provide me the main engineer builds and the most viable one? The mesmer forum has got a topic with a list of the most used and efficient builds but here the thing that comes closest to it is “Post your engineer build”, which is too long and not easy to skim through.

I am currently running 10/20/30/0/10 (Followed Krispera suggestion with the exception that I prefer clone on dodge and so I moved point from domination to duelling. 4s less CD on torch won’t kill me) and am doing very well. Using GS and sword/torch; as utilities I picked up blink, decoy and veil (The first two have been with me since the beginning).

I had totally overlooked the buff on stealth thingie, thought it was something trivial that would have lasted only some second and not worth it but, taking into account that I got 4 spells to go invisible and that they all last more than 3s, allowing double procs, it definitely makes up for it.

I gained that little of survivability I was looking for; thanks for your suggestions. I’ll see how this build does elsewhere, eventually trying out the options others came up with too.

I would be content even if they just increased condition stacks or duration… the phantasm attacks every 6s and the confusion only lasts 3s, dealing irrelevant damage too.

In pve its usage is even more limited: it only counts as a normal clone with less health, since the 3s confusion aren’t enough to tick even once, taking into account mobs’s attack speed.

1) Thanks for the clarification on Time Warp; I thought the reason was something similar but wanted to confirm.

2) Run through Veil and, when Veil invisibility is almost over, use The Prestige: in that precise moment you’ll have two invisibility buffs: the one from veil and the one from The Prestige. When veil buff fades, you turn visible even though you still have “The Prestige”‘s buff for the remaining 3s. However, it looks like this is just visual, since mobs don’t detect you when you got the buff. You are invisibly visible.

3) Oh well, I should have expected that such bug had been already reported, considering it happens A LOT to not be noticed.

Something like “reforging” from WoW would be very much appreciated.

Maybe, in order not to destroy the market (since some popular sets like berserker and rabid are sold for more than other stats combinations), you could implement the possibility to change only one of the 2 minor stats.

This would add a lot more customization and open new doors to builds that are currently imperfect without the correct stats combination.

Not sure if it’s ended to work this way but, is it normal that when I pop Time Warp during a world boss event, I do not gain the buff, even tho I tried to come in and out of the zone? May this be due to the buff being appliable only to a X number of people (like, max 10 people) and so I might not get it? Just wondering

Also, even if just visual, when you use stealth spells in succession, like veil and The prestige, you are visually not invisble but keep the buff (and mobs ignore you, so I guess it still works). This is just cosmethic tho

One last thing: clones generated on dodge do not attack my target but the nearest random enemy, even if it’s a rabbit. This becomes annoying when clones unnecessarily aggro nearby neutral mobs. Lately I’ve also noticed that sometimes they just stand in one spot, without moving or doing anything at all, like stunned, and dying on their own for no apparent reason.

Probably these were already mentioned but cba to read 13 pages of topic and the search function is a joke in this forum; whatever I type it always gives 0 results, pff.

As stated in the main post, I’m aware that torch is an awkward weapon and is barely used by other mesmers.

However, I don’t really care about playing the most supportive or damaging build: I like to use torch because I have fun doing so; I adore the sudden invisibility, the fact that I can use blurred frenzy without breaking it, and I like reappearing and shattering at the same time for a burst finisher. It’s just this way of playing it that entertains me a lot.

So, already knowing that we won’t arrive to the perfect mesmer build, I’m trying to optimize what I have under my hands in order to get a “better” build for solo pve. The points I would like to cover are:
- Damaging build
- Uses sword + torch
- Some survivability

Going for a shatter build was the most fitting option, since it synergizes enough well with my shatter on reappearing and I’m satisfied with the damage I deal, and so the first two points are covered.

In a way, even the third point is covered, since my rotation starts with summoning clones from far away and, when I get in melee range, I go invisible and burst down my target without getting seen/hit. There are some cases, however, where I can’t avoid some mobs AoE or where I can’t “vanish” spells (like in WoW :<< ) and I end up getting hit anyways; in those cases, the damage I receive is too high. If I’m dealing with more than one mob using AoEs, I end up really bad and got to kite with GS. This is a problem I don’t have with the phantasm build.

So I thougt that I should have given up some firepower in order to gain more defense but I’m not sure which set to pick up, as I’m not sure which would be the most fitting stat combination available in this case (If I could customize stats as I wished, I’d probably give up some power for vitality/toughness, leaving precision and crit damage unaltered, but it’s not possible).

Should I stay berserker gear and simply “deal with it”, or should I mix up some gear stats(and in that case, which gear should I use?)?

EDIT:
I’m mainly looking for “burst damage” (No conditions), but I have to say I’m very tempted to play a confusion mesmer; however, I saw that confusion isn’t really good on mobs and I don’t know if it’s worth gathering condition damage gear (and in that case, which gear should I pick up, once again?). I’d need more insight, if possible.

Sorry for bumping but really, what stats should I pick up in order to keep damage but also some staying power? Out of power, precision and crit damage I will surely have to drop something for vitality/toughness, but the stats combinations available do not match my preference; which would be the best gear suited for a shatter gear that comes with some staying power? When I was level 12 I couldn’t solo Oak, now I can even aggro the nearby veterans and kitten them along the way np

It’s true that the downscaling can be quite harsh in some zones (I have 92% critical damage that gets down to like.. 7% in some areas), but you have the traits and utility skills that add up; you don’t have them when you are low level. Hell, if I had all the utilities and traits from the start it wouldn’t have been hell to level a mesmer (It was very fun, tho).

Also, you maybe can’t 1shot mobs… but you 2 shot them.

I understand the feeling of OPness you’d like to feel, but it would get very boring because:
1) The experience you gain from killing, mining and doing events would be kittented to the ground (Making it not even rewarding)
2) Mobs would drop only low level items
3) You would end up hanging around only in Orr for killing/farming, which gets boring even in the short run.
4) If dungeons were downscaled, it would be easier to farm tokens for your favorite gear but, once again, the only profitable dungeons would become the high level ones.

When I had just started this game, I didn’t really like this feature; I too liked coming back to an old area and exterminate in 1shot all those nasty mobs that were hell during my levelling but it became very boring everytime. Wonder why no one farms mobs in WoW low level areas or does quests there (And the ones farming old dungeons are VERY unmotivated to do so, unless they want to roleplay or feel nostalgic about old molten core).

Downscaling basically makes any area worth farming in, adding diversity and giving you the possibility to pick up the area you like when you feel like it, making it challenging but also rewarding, instead of being left wondering “Oh, this area is so good, I like it, why didn’t they make it high level so I’d feel motivated to actually come here?”.

This is my opinion but now, coming at your suggestion, how do you think it should be dealt with? I mean, if they made the downscaling possible, you’d want them to “instance” you, so that you couldn’t interferee with other’s playing? How do you think dungeons should be dealt with?

I have always liked the spell “The prestige” from the first time I saw it and I want to use torch; I don’t care if it got an useless phantasm, I just would like to run a semi-decent build for pve/farming that is fun to play and is focused on torch.

However, in order to do so, I’d need your help in weighing stats and utility skills.

So far I’ve run a phantasm build (20/20/0/25/5), with GS and sword/focus and it was very nice for farming and doing dungeons; I also liked all the glamours and doing combos with them. For that reason, I gathered full berserker gear, Berserker greatsword, sword, torch, focus, staff. I don’t have any other gear but I’m willing to farm it, if necessary.

Considering how pitiful the phantasmal mage is, I decided to give up on my previous phantasm build an go for a shatter one(20/20/0/0/30).

The cast sequence I had thought of in melee range was:
Illusionary leap(create clone) – phantasmal mage – leap(root) – dodge(create clone) – the prestige – blurred frenzy(it doesn’t break stealth) – mindwrack on reappearing.

I’ve tried it out and found it very fun to play, beside the massive damage when 4-5 mobs gather (the holographic mobs get 1shot by this combo). However, this build makes me too fragile; I’m too squishy.

I think that berserker stats are okay, since I deal damage mostly with sword, MW and the prestige(the instant damage), but I guess I’ll have to give up some stat in order to gain more resistance. I think the best spread would be precision, crit damage and vitality/toughness, but such set does not exist. The closest I could find was Rabid gear (precision, cond. dmg, toughness); I suppose a bit of cond. damage wouldn’t hurt the burning and the confusion, even though they aren’t the main source of damage.

Is this gear any good at all for my purpose? Should I try mixing up some gear(Perhaps, could you suggest me some values below which I should not get?) Should I change runes? Should I change utility skills(perhaps use some signet)? Would it be better to pick some other trait or totally revamp my build?

I think I was understimating the boon stripping effect; I didn’t think it was so useful.

You surely have more experience than me with the mesmer class so I’m not going to argue about it.

Also, I always wanted to see a combo finisher added to Mind Stab and I had also suggested it in the first post but I thought that boon stripping + blast finisher would have been maybe too much (As stated before, I’m not so much experienced). It doesn’t look like it and so I support that idea.

It must have been fun to have daze on Mind Stab tho… No chance of getting it back, right?

GS already has a knockdown on 5. There’s a cripple with the phantasm on 4.

The boon strip is rather valuable in some situations.

My complaint would be more of the lock-in-place to use it, or the horrible small aoe-circle. Fix those and it enters the realm of awesome.

This spell has got my favorite animation but what it does is somewhat… dull.

I mean, it does average damage and the only effect it has is “removing a boon”.

For the ones who have fought the Eye of Zaithan, you will surely remember that mass attack that looks exactly like a mesmer’s Mind Stab and that knocks you down. If a knockdown effect was added to Mind Stab, that would make it a really kitten skill.

Still, in order to apply it, we would need a revamp Illusionary Wave, or we’d end up having two knockdowns: my suggestion would be:
- Mind Stab: deal less base damage, add knockdown (25s cooldown => 20s if traited)
- Illusionary Wave: deal more AoE damage, remove knockback, (17s cooldown => 14s if traited)

Basically, what I’ve done is simply switching the two spells, adding knockdown to the first and removing knockback from the second. Now, talking about numbers:

(It’s the first time I attempt doing math with gw2; I used to do it for wow tho)
Let’s assume a base power of 3000 and a weapon damage of 1000, the (empirical) formulas for MS(coeff = 0,5) and IW(coeff = 0,15) are:

Dmg = (Power*WeapDmg*coeff)/916

MS = (3000*1000*0,5)/916 =1637,55
IW = (3000*1000*0,15)/916 = 491,27

Now, simply switching the coefficients wouldn’t really be balanced, because we would get:
A knockdown spell with a smaller area of effect and low damage
A damage spell with a larger area of effect and “big” damage

My suggestion would be to either reduce the coefficient on the new IW from 0,5 to 0,4 and increase the coefficient on the new MS from 0,15 to 0,25, or something along those lines.

For this last part, however, I would like to hear the opinions of the ones who have spent more time ingame and know what would be better and what not. I tried to give approximate numbers about cooldowns and numbers but I’d really like to hear you here.

If this sounds too complicated, or you wouldn’t like changing IW or you wouldn’t like having an increased cooldown on MS or you wouldn’t like something else, then I’d have a two more options:
1) Leave things as they are, remove the “remove boon” effect on MS and add a knockdown combo finisher (preferably with ethereal fields)
2) Leave things as they are, remove the “remove boon” effect on MS and add a cripple effect.

Mesmer needs movement speed

Using centaur runes and focus I basically have permanent swiftness all the time.

Anyways, even with only the runes (that usually come together with the Zhed’s set), you have swiftness on demand by healing at the right time. If you run a mantra build, you can 100% exploit the speed on demand, as mantras are castable sequentially (You potentially have 30 consecutive seconds of swiftness). If you don’t like mantras, mirror healing is on a 15s cd.

If this wasn’t really enough for you, I would invite you to learn how to combo with all your ethereal fields and gain chaos armor, that usually grants swiftness.

It’s true that mesmers don’t have a swiftness ability, but I find it more challenging and entertaining to put your brain at work and think of ways to gain the same effect as other classes, as that is POSSIBLE.

Also, even without swiftness, you have so much mobility and tricks in your arsenal that it’s hard to catch you even without swiftness: you have 3 stun breakers (blink, mirror images, decoy), you have blink, you have staff blink, you have portal, you have 3 sources of invisibility (decoy, prestige, mass invis)… really, what do you want more

PS: run, cast portal1, run, cast portal2, cast decoy there and, while casting mass invis, use portal and, once landed on the other side, start running in the opposite direction.

Out of 25 obsidian shards I made 1g and 7 clovers. (I took into account the cost of ectos and coins).

Still, why not make clovers sellable in the TP? Selling them for 6s at a random vendor seems wasted, somehow…

Please, give us a way to get rid of these, since the ones who are not interested in crafting legendaries make no use out of them.

Either make it possible to sell them or to convert them in the mystic forge in a lodestone or something else that isn’t soulbound/accountbound.

There are already some items that are soulbound and become useless in the long run, like transmutation stones and skill points, and that we are unable to get rid of.

I almost completed all the maps and I always receive the 3 transmutation stones (I’m a level 80 mesmer, full geared) and I can’t do anything with these stones, nor I would use them for my alts (there are no good looking low level armors anyways), since I also happen to change gear often.

Now, what about making it possible to upgrade the transmutation stones to transmutation crystals in the mystic forge? For example:
3 transmutation stones + 1 crystal (you buy them for skill points) + some dust = 1 transmutation crystal

That way I could get rid of those 58 transmutation stones rotting in my bank

I liked the concept of mantras meant as spells chargable before engaging in battle and providing good istant burst/heal but… I would like you to consider the following:

A mantra specced mesmer will have 3 charges of each mantras and 4% damage increase per mantra ready.

Mantras are spells that got a relatively long cast time (2.75s) but provide 3 charges of an instant spell with a specific effect; after you have consumed all the charges, the mantra spell will undergo a relatively short cooldown.

The current mantras available to mesmer are:
Mantra of Concentration - Meditate, charging a spell that will grant you stability and break stuns
Mantra of Distraction - Meditate, charging a spell that will daze your target.
Mantra of Pain- Meditate, charging a spell that will damage your target.
Mantra of Recovery - Meditate, charging a spell that will instantly heal you when activated.
Mantra of Resolve - Meditate, charging a spell that will cure all of two conditions.

Now, what I had in mind was to make these spells more “effective” but also increasing the cast time and the cooldown.

If you give them a kitten cast time(like it was before, when mantras had 3.75s cast time) and 1min(more or less) cooldown while increasing their effect, they’ll be harder to recharge during battle but their effect will make up for it.

This change would make mantra builds a bit more challenging, as you’d need to carefully choose when to use those spells; however, if you time them well, taking into account the improved effect, they’ll give good results.

You won’t be mindlessly spamming MoP but you’ll try to chain it with some autoattack + shatter in order to deal a good amount of burst damage; if you misuse it, however, you’ll have to wait a relatively long time before recasting it and it will also take longer to recast it. Mistakes will be punished but a clean play will be more than rewarding.

What about other non-damaging mantras? Here the changes I would personally implement but I’m very open to other suggestions:
Mantra of concentration: add a 1s “immune to stuns” buff (45s CD)
Mantra of pain: increase the output damage (40s+ CD)
Mantra of distraction: increasing the duration of daze would be too OP if chained, so either leave it as it is or change the effect to “confusion” or “remove n boons” (30s+ CD)
Mantra of Recovery: increase the healing granted by each charge (45s+ CD)
Mantra of resolve: make it remove more conditions (1min CD)

What I listed are just approximate numbers; if there is someone willing to do the math, be welcome, otherwise I’ll try to do it myself when I’ll have more time (currently dealing with exams). The base idea is to increase the cast time up to 4s or even 5s and increase the cooldown from ca 10s to 30s or more, while improving the spells by a good amount, still avoiding to make them so overpowered that a MoP chained 3times 1shots someone.

I’d like to hear your opinions about this and other changes you’d like to add, if any. Are you happy with the current state of mantras? Do you think it’s okay as it is? Do you find it fun playing it or you don’t consider it enough worthy?

Rofl, this is so kittening kittened: teleported to Phineas waypoint, since Behemoth was going to spawn within minutes, got trapped in a 3-4 mins lagspike, without being able to even get near behemoth and lost the event (as it got killed in 2 mins).

Come on, seriously, this is getting too far now… playing this game is starting to become counter productive: it’s no longer a source of entertainment.

Holy god, I’m in frostgorge Sound waiting for Jormag and I’m dying to random mobs because i get stuck during spells and find myself with downed status after 10-15s that i press buttons without performing any spell at all.

It’s being a nightmare, really… yesterday it wasn’t this ugly, now it’s getting worse and worse. I’m out for tonight, sick.

Here i’ll add the pingplotter tests i performed: there is only the n2 test that fails (100% PL); the rest shows a low ping (ca 70).

Here it’s my log; i’m not horrendously lagging like the OP but my skills still require from 1-2s to activate with peaks of 10-15s of inactivity (usually followed by a crash), but chat still runs smoothly.

A month ago, however, i had that kind of horrendous lag but it got fixed afterwards and i didn’g lag for a while. Now the skill lag’s got back at me again :/

I’ve been playing for some weeks without any hint of lag at all; yesterday i got back, started the game and i started lagging a lot; countless rubber banding, long lagspikes and crashes.

I’ve been lagging in the past, tried EVERYTHING that was posted on this site and in the end it was found out to be an Anet issue. Since then i didn’t lag at all.

Now i started lagging again; yesterday i was fighting some wurm and couldn’t dodge 1 single stone, because everytime i saw the worm charging, i was like “ok, he’s going to throw it now /dodge” but jk, the worm got frozen in some kind of lagspike, something like 10s pass and then everything is sped up and i find myself knocked down on the ground with half hp; another 10s pass, with my skill buttons flashing like some action was being processed, even though nothing was happening, and then i’m dead.

I don’t know how many times i died yesterday against jormag, since everytime i lagged on the frozen ground, got trapped in a lagspike, and then everything gets sped up again and i’m with 4 stacks of that silly debuff and with 10% hp.

Skills like blink have gotten useless: i’m running, i blink to a spot but nothing happens; i keep running forward and after some sec the skill activates, transporting me to the spot i had blinked to, even though i had already got past that spot by simply running. Sometimes i get continously ported to that spot.

When the lagspike is too long, i get a crash.

I performed several tests on my connection and, once again, it’s totally fine. Other games like wow run smoothly and without an hint of lag; it’s only gw2.

Any solution?

Oh, update: login, get a lagspike immediately after i entered with my mesmer and crashed. I tried logging in again and again: lagspike crash.

I can’t even exit the mists at the moment because i get stuck in a loop the first moment i enter the game. Teleport me out of this hell at least :S

How pvp is at the moment for me:
- 3s lagspike every 2s of game: basically, i have a 2s window during which i can chose a spell to activate; however, doing so isn’t that useful because before the spell activates, at least 3s will pass and during those 3s the enemy has gone to africa and got back.

If this wasn’t enough frustrating, from time to time i get 15-20s lagspike that ends with a crash. I’ve crashed 2-3 times during a game and i couldn’t even score a kill.

I see people teleporting/warping/jumping around me the whole time and, when i activate some spell that requires me to stand still, i get eternally rooted in place and i end up dead after the lagspike. It’s like: cast spell, get stuck in a loop => ???? => dead.

Collecting seer’s set is being a nightmare.

I’ve been lagcrashing for the past hours:

I enter a tournament, i get 3s lagspike EVERY 2s (meaning that i only have a 2s window to use a spell and i’m not even sure what the enemy is doing in the 3s lagspike, leading me to basically play randomly and hoping for some spell to hit my target) and then i eventually get disconnected.

I’ve crashed like 2-3 times during a game so figure

Blinking takes around 3-4s to activate and, when it does, i get ported back and forth, not to mention all players teleporting/warping around me and me not having any idea of what the kitten is going on.

Hi there

I’ve been playing gw2 for the past few weeks and i’ve been experiencing some lag; when totally alone i didn’t lag but, when even 1 player was nearby, i could notice some slight lagging. When there are 3+ players i start definitely lagging, like i see my spells lighted in the keybar but they get activated after some second or i see players running forward/in the same spot and then reappearing somewhere else.

When it comes to pvp, it’s much worse; the 5vs5 tournaments are horrific: i see people teleporting all around, my spells need around 2s to activate and there are some times i get stuck in place because of a spell i activated and then i see some random mob stomping me hard (5k 5k 5k dead).

I’m more oriented towards pvp and lagging in pvp basically kills the whole purpose of this purchase.

I’ve read and applied all the suggestions that i found in this board, but none helped;

1) I’ve installed Leatrix Latency fix
2) I’ve updated all my drivers
3) I’ve set NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M to open gw2
4) I’ve disabled FireWall and made an exception in Avast (I’ve even disabled it for some time but nothing changed)
5) I’ve applied the changes listed here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/FPS-and-Performance-based-issues-1/first#post338300 to my graphic card
6) I live in Europe and performed several speed test to servers nearby and to Germany servers, all showing little latency (I got a 20mb connection). Also, i do not lag in other online games whose servers are located in the same zone.

I no longer know what to do; i’ve run several tests and my computer should be more than able to run this game but, when it comes to pvp, i get horrific lag.

I’m starting to regret having bought this game; the first period i didn’t lag and was all exicted to level up, learn to play and then switch to pvp but, once i got to the pvp area, there i got disappointed.

Do you have any other suggestions or tips to solve this out? I no longer feel like playing if i’m doomed to lag.
