I think it would be best to claim for leniency. Somebody threatened with a lawyer seldom goes beyond the things he has to do according the law.
I had one more than I bought. I made a ticket about it and did not touch it, because I was wary about using an exploit. When I received an answer it said “It’s ok. Enjoy.” I did.
I would recommend the same solution. Tell them what happened and wait for their reaction. You did not do anything wrong, so they have to take it away or they will say: keep it. In the end you will get a document, that will clear you from any wrongdoing.

There have been issues reported on this forum connected with debit cards. Credit cards or card with debit AND credit have not been reported to have issues.
So yes, it could be the debit card.
First, support can be asked without an active account.
Second, you could ask a friend to do it. I guess you think of the “tickets more than 3 days old”-thread.

You are talking at their home, their forums. Do you really think, you can do anything you wish to do on their hometurf? Sounds crazy to me.
Everybody new their standpoint after the karma exploit. I cannot understand all the people starting a whining thread here now. They have made it clear, that their would be no second incident with lenience. And so it is now. If you have not learned it the first time, there will be no chance to learn it at the second incident. So why do you ask them to soften up. I wouldn’t do it.
I’m not afraid of bans. That does not mean I’m sure to get no ban. It just means that I’m sure to survive a review if I get one.
I might be doing an exploit because I don’t know it is one. But because I would only use it to get armor or weapons for my characters, I would not use it several hundred times. There is a difference and I’m sure Anet sees it too. Doing something a couple of times to get as much items as you personally need is (according my opinion) not exploiting even if it involves an exploit. I know that this opinion leaves some room for discussions.
I might do an example: If I would have done the snowflakes, I would have done as much as I needed, but I would not have salvaged one of the results. So I would not have discovered the exploit at all. That is the way I do things in the game. I do what I need and I skip anything else. Something like that IMHO would never be enough to warant the ban hammer swinging my way.

I guess this problem was already solved with my answer because somebody selected my answer to be good. I’m just not completely sure because their is no post claiming that it was a solved problem.
It is just a point of view. Certainly any punishment dished out to me or any other player IS a mountain. But considering the numbers involved and the assumptions wrongfully claimed to show of the “big numbers” on the forums – it is a molehill.
Passwords that have been used in attempts to hack not yet established accounts are blocked by Anet. Read the article on security by Brian.
Instead of rambling against Anet you should be thankful because they prevented you from using a combination that was sure to be hacked shortly after. In this case I would ask for a change of the accountname too, because the data that were looted from other websites have been MAIL AND PASSWORD.

Sometimes you have to update the HoM in GW1 first. Go to the registrar there. I changed from account view to character view and back again. Then I asked to call the browser calculator. After that I closed GW1 and opened GW2. After this I received my rewards.

Maybe, but we are not the people who have made the rules. Back when my parents made my rules, I didn’t like them either. We all have the ability to know the rules by
1. accepting them before we started playing or by
2. visiting them later because you can read the legal stuff on the website or by
3. reading discussions here.
Rules are rules and laws are laws. You can ask them to change it and sometimes they will do it. But if they don’t do it you will have to stick with it.
Everybody has the right to ask for a review and anybody should ask for one, if he thinks he deserves one. Because of the time to work it via support 72-hour suspensions might be ended before the review might work. Nevertheless everybody should try to do it. You can ask and is up to them to say yes or no. But if you don’t ask, you won’t get a chance for a yes.
Just don’t try it, if you are sure, that you are at fault. Anybody else should always try for a review.

I’m afraid he will have to wait for support. Nothing on the forum can be done to speed this up now.

My guild Upgrades are stuck in the Queue. I have one “Vault Transport” in the “Current Upgrades” and another one in the “Build Queue”.Can I have only one upgrade or is there something wrong?

Normally you can build only one upgrade at any given time. Except that you have build an upgrade that increases the number of upgrades that can be build at the same time.

The maximum upgrades to be done at the same time will be 3, if you use the before mentioned upgrades.
You are right, of course there is a timer in there. I forgot to mention that in the previous post. It is shutting down only, when there is “too much” money spend during a relative short time.
That is a protection at work here. What you have to do: ask via support to get the restriction lifted.
They have placed a limit on transaction in order to stop exploits. Card information can be stored and if the account gets hacked, the hackers would be able to spend a lot of money. In order to buy more gems you have to unlock the credit card again. I guess this to be a minor inconvenience.

I am against any unfair punishment of players just as anybody else. But I am also against unfair accusations toward Anet and its people. The first has nothing to do with the second, yet it seems it is coupled here and thus it is ok if I am outspoken about it too. Just my opinion. And I can explain that as much, as others can do it. No need to push me out.

No one promised that special features would be given to any character you create. I fyou delete your character who is carrying speacial items without putting them in the bank before you do so, it’s your own fault. You cannot complain if you did the mistake.
And what if they want to accumulate names and players before they are going to act on reports? As far as I know that is what they are going to do. Waiting to catch more people with the same ban action. Leaving the people banned without a cue why they have been banned at all. Disclosing the reasons for bans is about to give away the ways you discover the reasons for doing it at all – you should keep the bad guys in the dark as much as possible.

To add their warning inside an item nobody reads, and they know this, is just slimy. I would expect it from lawyers and bosses but not from a game. They can’t justify it by saying, “well you signed it” it is very slimy indeed.
It’s not slimy. I guess it is what their lawyers or law department ask them to do because of how the law works. If you don’t do it, you will be loosing hardearned money soon after.
After all it is a game company trying to make a living for the owners and workers. They simply follow the rules (laws). You cannot blame them for doing so.
I believe that they want to make money and that they want us to have fun. If we have fun, we spend money on the game. Any player whose penalty (suspension, ban, infraction) is not really justified, is bad “public relations”, is not having fun, is reducing the money they earn from us. I think that I am right to guess that nobody at Anet wants this to happen. It is just as simple as that and that is why I have confidence that their opinions on this thread and in others are sincere. I believe that they will work hard on giving us a good time and to repair any damage done by not justified penalties.
Are you serious? Have you read the restoration thread? A rollback is done on the account. For me that means not to do anything with the account until the rollback is decided and performed. But when you give out gifts to your friends, you cheat on this process because your friends will benefit from your account restoration. I don’t think this was the way it should be.
I fear its more like “99.9% of guilty players will not be properly banned”, if you do it like this.

2. to review and unban false positives faster
And they will continue doing so.
It has been said too (and this is true for me as well), that any person harassed by the results of false positives is one person too many. But when you fight something, you need to have markers. The problem is to set the markers that way that guilty people will be catched and that innocent people will continue to play. That is never done easily.
Even if your codes are bound to different regions (and you should get the recommended version), you can choose any server to play. So there will be no problem.
Hey, After i switched server to devon (from crystal desert initially), my guild upgrades were reset to lv 1, now i cant access treasure trove too. It seems my guildies are able to see them. I have all permissions granted so im not sure why this phenomenon.
The upgrades and the influence points are serverbound. Moving to a different server you start from nil again. Moving back you gain access to the previous situation there again.
No bug – it is intended that way.
You should write a ticket. Maybe support is able to help you or can do the linking for you.
More talk less action. As you can see, the numbers of people getting ban is increasing everyday. It is obvious that there is sOmething wrong with the system already but what i dont understand is the excuse of reviewing. Come on man, there is no need for that. Reviewing would make it longer or maybe thats an excuse til someone gets back after new year.
A few posters on that topic doesn’t make a great number of people getting banned unreasonably. Of course anyone shunted wrongfully is one player too many. But something like that happens. Nobody of us knows for sure how many posts are from ordinary people seeking a review who earn it and how many of the appeals are done by people who deserved their ban. I guess quite a number of them is focused to push Anet into giving back the accounts in order to stay silent inspite of the fact that they are banned rightly.
I just don’t like the calls to change a system, when noone of the callers really knows if the system is at fault. All I know is that Gaile says “we try to improve the way we are handling things”. I trust her, but I don’t trust the people who are throwing nothing but insults at her or Anet.
You should never forget that those bans for goldsellers is to protect US from being hacked or to prevent us from suffering in other ways. If there are some accounts where the ban is being wrong, I’m going to stand it. I don’t like it, but I will survive. That holds true even if I am the one who is banned wrongfully.
It seems you do not understand what you are reading. They will never give an official ok on something like this. You are on your own.

@Turial: You cannot discuss somebody’s opinions! You can express your own (as you have done), but you cannot convince somebody if he does not share your opinion.
You cannot deny that a 3-day-suspension will work because anybody knows they are serious about it. And if they have some rules, they have to make do with it without any exceptions. If they do just one exception and it gets public, their complete policy would be destroyed.
I sincerely hope that anybody punished will learn their lesson and will continue as a respected community member and player.
If I will be hit by something similar, I will grief it in private and I will continue. My life will not be destroyed (there are far more serious threats on that) because I have a life outside the game.
I’m not celebrating somebody being punished. Instead I’ll try to give advice on how to get back to playing.
Ok, I understand. That means that Anet will have to check if somebody infused their website with malware or malware links. And if found to be true, the have the get it removed.

The risk is relatively low if you are using unique email AND unique password for both. Only a keylogger on your PC will be able to get it (IMHO).
I don’t have a link on that page in that area. You are sure that it was not placed there by an infection you have on your pc or in your browser?
When registering GW2 you have been asked to name a GW1-account. By linking them you will give your GW1-account a new email and a new password (if you choose to do so, which is good anyway).
If you failed to link the accounts you still can link them via the GW2-account page on this page. There is a point “linking accounts” (maybe it is called different, because I see the German version). There you should find the same options.
If you don’t know the necessary GW1-account information for this, you will have to ask support to help you in either to get those information or help you to link the accounts.
