They always want to be fast. I hope you added that you have been hacked.
If it takes some time, you should remember the sticky thread for “tickets older than 3 days”.
And check your account once it is back in your hands. Maybe you are elligible for an account restoration. So check up on that information in the stickys too. That might take additional time.

Nevertheless, I hope you are back in game soon and the way you have been before!

Switching very fast between two accounts?

“Log Out” keeps the launcher coming back. At least that is what it is doing. So when I switch or want to switch between accounts, that is the way it can be done. Only “Exit…” should be terminating the game completely. But there is a bug in it for some people (for me too) that keeps the game client in memory and we have to kill it through the task manager. I don’t know if this is a problem for you too. Thus I just mention it.

The -localdat parameter is having no special effects according the wiki. It’s just working like the -dat parameter.

I’m a lazy person. If a solution works and there are only minor problems, I would be satisfied with the result. According your answer the prescribed solution works. The problems are minor. And so I would be happy with it.

Why do you make it so complicated. I have 3 GW1 accounts. For each one I produced a link on my desktop. As far as I know the same is possible with GW2. They have about the same parameters to do it.
Just call one link “Mom” and the other one “Dad”.
Just be aware that this is a security issue. You take the risk, you carry the responsibility!

False Positive for Botting

Don’t assume to much. Your account could have been hacked and used for botting too. You will never know what caused it. So best thing to do, is writing a ticket and ask about it. Usually you will get an answer. If the answer is not sufficient, go on and ask for a review. Errors in judgement do happen sometimes and a review might change the results.

Usually the support account is based on an mail address. Better still the mail address is different from the one used for the GW2 account. They don’t want to have something connected with the account, although you can use the same mail address. But the display name seems not a good idea.

And as suggested by the other people here, I would now ask for an email change as well. There are bad guys on this forum, they could use information gathered here to hack you again.

I also was banned for being accused of botting…. I would like to see any records of me botting or anything like that yes I run the same zones a lot but I am always on my account… I havent receieved any emails or anything to let me know exactly why I was banned

They are not planning ondeleting characters. Why should they do it, if they know they have cases which were banned in error? Keeping them does no harm.

But if you want to change that, I suggest you write in suggestions. It is not a bug or account issue.

No, they won’t. You say “that’s the one!” Then somebody else comes along to say the same. They simply don’t have the resources available to check something so good, that they can approve it.

It’s better they concentrate on the game, it’s repair, it’s further development. They should not be forced to control other peoples software.

If the other software don’t touch the GW2 files, you should be fine. But if it is doing more, it is your risk. And Anet does not want to get involved into disputes of liability for software from other sources. They have their own problems to care for.
Try to be reasonable!

Nothing you do on the forum will change anything.
Let him write a ticket and ask for a review. That might help him. If the ticket was unanswered for more than 3 days, then you can write his ticket number in the special sticky thread for “tickets older than 3 days”.

That is the best you can do.

It’s no bug. You simply have to check your sytem date and time. If they don’t fit, the lists shown and the lists active on the server don’t fit together. That’s all.
This has been said often enough and there is a thread for this too.

You cannot prepare for human errors. I don’t. I just play like I want. I think about problems, when they arise (if they ever arise).
In your case it is on the record now, that there has been a mistake. That should be helpful for the next incident. But I believe that it is preventing another incident, because they will not want to repeat a mistake they have done already.

I also think this has a profund effect on the queues for WvWvW. It’s gotten really bad lately also, which make it more important to fix this. Guildies and I will test this a bit further today; form up a party and have one or two stay behind to confirm that our souls linger on in WvWvW.

That would be a different problem. Currently we see the game client lingering on our PCs while we are not aware it is still in memory.
Being still connected is something different. That should only happen if game or PC are crashing – no normal exit having been done. If you suspect, that the exit would not be done and that it is connected to this problem, that would be a new problem.

I believe that too, but if I am not first I will not get credit. That means that I have less than 50 % of the healing. If that is the limit, it is not sufficient. Imagine 4 players to heal almost at the same time – will none of them get the credit for it? That would be disappointing.

As we have a daily on healing today, I was watching this. When I TAKE PART in healing, I don’t get the achievement. If I do it alone, I get it. If I’m the first, it seems I get it too.

Since everybody is interested in healing, when it is in the dailys, I would like them to count when you take part. When you take risks in battle to do this and when it is raising the victim faster, you should get credit for it too. If the healing is almost done, I can understand that no credit is awarded, but otherwise I would expect to receive my credits.

It happened to my first character as well. But as you can get it in the cave in Lion’s Arch, I was not worried about it. The workaround works anyway. And you need this item only once for the complete account.

First, it’s no ban, it’s a suspension.
Second, if you want to play the character in question, you should be prompted to the name change.
Third, if you have any questions you should write a ticket and ask it there.

They won’t say yes, because they would make themself responsible in some ways.

There are 2 way to get out of the game.
1. “logging out” – this way the launcher will pop up again.
2. “exit” – this way you are out of the game for sure and the launcher will NOT pop up again.

PS I have to add now, that I found out GW2 was secretly running on my system without a window. I had finished it without restarting the PC. So there really might be a problem of turning off GW2 completely.

PS2 I checked it today again. It’s true. The game client GW2.EXE is not closing after you ordered him to exit the game. The launcher is not returning, but the game client stays.
This must be relatively new, because it never happened to me before.

It depends on the level of wrongness you do in a hotel. If it seems strong enough you won’t get a chance to better yourself. So I don’t fully agree to that argument.

A word like “Poop” might be considered lame and not punishable in western culture (I’m a member of that culture too). But the world and this game is inhabited by other cultures as well and I simply don’t have the knowledge to judge this on their behalf. Their is a reason why Anet made a rule to prohibit bodily functions. So again, what is acceptable for one group of people, is an attack on local customs elsewhere.
That is the reason why I think it possible to fail sometimes in the future. I am a very tolerant person, so any presumed attack would be painful for me myself. I would never do something like that willingly.
I might use a strong word when I fall of a jumping puzzle again, but fortunately my words are not recorded.

About the support option. I did not know it existed, but I was always determined to get to the root of a problem. If I have a problem, which I cannot solve, I search the forum (which is why I try to lend a helping hand to fellow players who don’t know the things I know). If that fails, I ask support. I did it for years (more than 7 years for GW1) and it always served me well. Of course I am not satisfied with the answers all the time, but I get answers.

I have played / are playing a lot of online games. Most are F2P, but it makes almost no difference. Even if you pay the TOS explain, that you simply bought the right to play it along the rules and if there is no change. Whatever change that might be. You have to take it or leave it. I have read on their forums and on public forums (because their forums will be swept clean from any complaints – Anet is much more open to that, IF you behave while doing so). Problems arise whenever they decide to act on their TOS and people believe their rights have been crossed. Believe me, if you read those TOS: players have no right whatsoever. They have not even the right to get an answer.

Now look here: we can discuss controversial topics and we have a place to ask. Sure we are not always pleased by those answers, but usually we are not concerned about anything while we are playing. And that is where anything comes together. Anet does this so that we (and all other players) can have a playtime as smooth as possible.

How do they do it? They punish bad behaviour, they punish harassment, they evict bad language and bad names, they put up rules in a way that playing is supported. I don’t think this to be bad at all.
But I know that where you brush of bad things, some other things will suffer. There are humans involved and we all do mistakes. I am not angry about a bad name, if the guy behind that name will come clean. If he is bad to the core, he will not survive long.

BTW As I am a guy, I always talk of “him” first. That’s not politically correct, but “he” could always be a “she” too. I don’t make a difference in that.

Part 1: I still doubt that your visitors are allowed to do anything they want. But if you don’t like that example, I would suggest you take a cinema, a restaurant or a public swimming pool. In each of this places you are the one to pay and you are asked to follow the rules or else to leave the property.

Part 2: If a name was against the rules, Anet does not know if it was by accident or intentional. All they see, is something against their rules. What are rules made for, if anybody can claim that his first mistake has to be taken lightly. And don’t forget it is a 72 hour suspension. No more, no less. That is not worth fighting for. Just because of our discussion here some will learn how to do better or to open a ticket to support and saying “sorry, but I choose a bad name”. Somebody who is doing that, would get a name change and NO suspension (IMHO).
I don’t rule out the fact, that I might fall victim to this trap sometime in the future myself. Because what is okay in one country or among one people, might be offending somewhere else. I don’t have all the rules of all the world in my head. If I think the name is okay and somebody is offended and Anet decides the other one is right – I will have to take it. No doubt about it, I would be angry about such a stupid thing happening to me, but this game is not only played in my hometown. Some foreign or even strange vulnerabilities have to be accepted.

Part 3. I have to admit, that this part of me was a wide shot. Maybe to far. I knew perfectly well, that we have been invited to discuss the topic here. Thus I know for sure, that the rules are at least softened a bit in this thread.
Nevertheless I can survive those rules. Anytime I join an online game, I accept the rules given. And other companies are not softening their approach to offenders too (like the reaction on cheaters of a very famous stormy publisher has shown). If Anet says, warnings are a waste of money, they have their reasons to do so. And I have no reason to doubt it.
We should not forget: they want to make money and they can do it only if most customers are satisfied.

Some of the special event letter fill the mailbox too without showing it. If you have mails from there I would suggest to delete a few of them.
PS To clarify it: they are not counting as private mail, but they are treated as such.

First, I was talking to wick.
Second, your accusations on Anets security are not based on any information available. If the credit card info is not saved, how should somebody get it. Those information of past transactions will be kept on systems that are not going into contact with the outside world again. Getting those information needs an inside job and believe me, anybody trying something like that will be found and send to prison. So you are in panic, but I don’t see why. It would be the same when you ask your credit card company to delete all information concerning your card, because they might loose it.

You simply don’t understand.
1. Of course their rules and ways of living their rules is arbitrary. Don’t forget where you are. You are in THEIR house and thus you have to stick to THEIR rules. You would ask anybody else who is guest in your house to follow YOUR rules as well. No discussion. It’s the way things are done. And YOU want it to be that way in YOUR house too.
2. Their is no distinction to be made between beeing a bad guy intentionally or being wrong because of not knowing. First, Anet doen’t know about intentions, thus it cannot rule accordingly. Second, you are adult and you have to stand in for your actions. Third, no court will accept you to be innocent just because you didn’t know the law. Not knowing is no protection in a court of justice. Why should it count here?

And last but not least, you are breeching the rules again: no discussion about decisions from support on the forums.
You will never learn, will you?

No, you don’t listen to answers.
Delete the credit card from the gem shop. That is what Anet offered. That is what YOU can do to keep it safe.
Anet has not yet been hacked. All the corrupted data stems from other websites being broken into and from players who have been recycling their mail and passwords on 100 sites and even their mail password is the same as the one on the other sites. Those players and their data are at risk because the thieves can even take over their mail accounts to authorise themselves and to request mail changes.
That is all written down in all the security information that you have not read yet and which was provided by Anet.

I already wrote it couple of times and only thing i got is just ignore XD… Deserve it? O.o Don’t get it i was all 3 days in event even kill the big karka.. and still didn’t get it…

One ticket – no more. And keep it updated.
And when they say no, you have to accept it. Players on the forum cannot check the logs. So we cannot say, if you deserve it or not. Thus writing on the forums don’t change a bit.

Have you ticked the additional box to remember the network? If you have done so, you should only be asked again, if you have an IP that is not connected with your ISP.
