Post the ticket number here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged/page/68#post1240831 when the ticket is older then 3 days.
Only ticket or this thread will be good. Anything else won’t work.
Tell him to change his account name as well, because now it is compromised. Placing account credentials on a forum is the first thing you can do. The bad guys are able to read it too.
And there is a limit for receiving private ingame mail (which is not always shown correctly). Ask your friend to check for the mails he already has and if he has 10, he should delete some of the elder mails. There are good chances that the missing mail will start to show up then.
That won’t work, because for the age command to work you have had to be able to get into the game first and create a character.
Post the ticket number in the “tickets for review (older 3 days” sticky thread on this subforum.
The things that Anet will know behind the scenes and those that the public will be able to see is not the same.
Write a ticket to support. They will have to look into the account details, which cannot be done in public.
How will you check account sharing? If I travel with my laptop I will have different IPs. No chance for Anet to find out unless I’m telling them that I do share my account.
And – plainly speaking – if you have an issue arising from sharing an account, the policy is enforced by the answer from support “sorry, we cannot help you”. I guess this enforcement works.
Using an email creates security issues, that has to be adressed.
One reason for not changing the name would be that some would harass or troll on the forums and change their ID when they start to run into problems. In such a way you shed a shady past and start fresh. Something like that happened in AION where you could use any character name for the forums.
Another reason is, that the display name is different from any account credentials (email, password), but at the same time it is an unchangeable and unique identifier for adressing players (like ingame mails and fighting the bots). If you make it changeable you’ll have to change the way you are doing such things now.
An account that was closed for refund cannot be reopened. At least that is what I have read on this forums. That means refunding shuts down one account completely and you will start new with the other account.
I would either keep both accounts – as one came for free. Or I would gift the additional one to a friend or family member interested in joining you.
No, the email used for a support ticket can be completely unrelated from the game account. So, choose an email that works for you and go ahead with support.
I have read stories of brothers killing an account through their actions. A brother usually is somebody very close to you. Experience show IMHO, that you can’t always trust family and somebody non-related is an even bigger risk.
Maybe you know your friends and you can trust them, but I would not even count on my own brothers in this regard.
As a father that is a bit different. Your love for the kids makes you trust them and it will even continue if they fail you. Such is life. It’s not always funny and bad things happen.
Don’t forget: in the world outside of GW2 I heard rumours of something that is called “divorce” (don’t even know what it is ).
Being ignorant are what they want you to be
No, it is what Anet and legit players NEED it to be. In order to be effective you cannot disclose information about how you do the job.
I’ll admit there is a downturn for those who have real concerns about playing save, but it is absolutely necessary for keeping the bad guys out as good as possible.
I just believe that doing some grinding might look like automated playing from the outside, but that necessary mechanical actions will give off much more revealing data than just grinding. And because I believe this, I feel relatively save with playing without any concerns about being banned.
Of course I would be surprised, if I would turn out to be a false positive and I would be extremely sad about it. But I have confidence that a review of my data would reveal that I am an honest player. Of course I spend money on it, but it is still a game. And as I’m still playing GW1 after more than 7 years, I guess I will have a lot of time to play GW2 too. Being out for some days is a minor concern, if you count on years of future playing.
it should be done via a support ticket.
Worked now. I submit my ticket. Im waiting. I recieve in my email this number of incident: [Incident:130117-000931] – If you, Gaile Gray, could help me making my process a lil faster putting it under the right technical support issue, i would appreciate, by the way, since the game open i have this problem …. i deserv that to be solve.
Bad English – Srry Srry
Usually, she will speed up tickets only when they are older than 3 days via the sticky thread “tickets older than 3 days”.
This forum isn’t RP-like.
Most players have a main character and they feel very close to it as being their main representation in the game.
What about those players that have a level below 40?
AION had the character representation and it was used by some players to represent different impersonations in the forums. That means: they attacked others and switched to another name / character, when the old name had a bad reputation. And some even attacked others for changing the name just in order to assume they had something to hide (even if the contents of their posts didn’t show any evidence at all).
So, for me that is a way straight into desaster. If such kind of mimikry would be allowed, the climate in the forums might decrease.
Final personal verdict: too many risks involved.
@Radio Isotope: I’ll take a chance on botter reporting. I don’t care about reprimands for myself when reporting. I’ll deal with problems as soon as they are arising. I guess the changes are due to the fact that some used reporting others because they were angry about them and not because they were really botting. Such an instance would be revealed through the chat protocol. It is useless for botters because there would be no chat to prove anything. So in fact it looks like a change because of the fact that people abused the bot reports for totally personal griefing. I can live with that. If I report it is for botting. Any report will be declared according the incident.
The account name is nowhere to be seen, because it is your email. The DISPLAY name is the one you are talking about and Anet intended it to be just for forums and ingame names to be used. Character names change because you can delete your character or your main character will change. Display names are to stay and that is what Anet and players can use to identify players because it stays and because it is unique. That is the one that cannot be changed (unless it is against the rules and then it will be changed by Anet not the player).
Display names don’t compromise substantial information about the account as well. Such it is secure and that is essential.
So I conclude: Display name is a good solution. Anything else seems to be a way where somebody might abuse the system.
Gaile Gray could you elaborate on something for me pls. I have made a few posts regarding hackers and the ever increasing rise of said hacking of GW2. But every time I post something regarding these hackers and suggest to implement a reporting tool ingame with a comment box, it gets deleted. I was wondering why this is. All I really need is one response from a dev on this or you preferably, as i miss your frog
, and i will leave it alone.
There is a reporting tool in place. In fact there are two. One via the support, where you can add some more information and one via the ingame bug report that has a “botting” reason to choose from.
Reporting on forums is bad for 2 reasons. One, the involved characters could be hijacked / hacked and Anet wants to give those accounts back to the players without them having to worry about any acquired bad names. Second, somebody accused of botting might never have botted. Just because it looks that way it must not be (although doing it like many others in the same way leaves not much imagination to not being a bot). It is Anets business to check that.
It is no reason to ban you for, but when somebody else is doing bad things with your account and you are the one to give him access, they will not be able to do anything for you. Because it will be YOU who breached his own security. That is why sharing is bad, bad, bad.
And it’s against the rules, that you have accepted.

Oh, I believe they didn’t think that somebody was going to use it that way, but what is the difference is the result.
As Illconceived Was Na said the one key gives you access to something that will not change the game for others. Those boosters are more or less useless (IMHO). The contents of the boxes will not make you rich. So I guess it will never be considered to be an exploit.
I keep those boxes in my inverntory and I use almost all boosters upon receiving them. I even sold a bunch of that boxes before.
Maybe this workaround will help too

yes, it is.
All your questions have been already answered in other threads.
A filter is not giving anybody the right to do away with courtesy.
Often I get the impression that the original 5-character-slot limit plays a role in the accumulation of “Log in” influence. Just like today. I gathered exactly 5 times the amount for one player for 2 accounts. Or yesterday as I gathered 5 times for one account while the second account got lost completely. And mostly the maximum for one account IS just 5 characters.
All characters represent.
One day an account was lost completely when the account was promoted to co-guildleader.
It is sad that this easiest part to gain influence is bugged from the beginning and that nobody acknowledged the problem yet. How shall you be able to win influence for your guild aplliances if this is not working properly. Of course there are more burning issues – even within the guilds – but nevertheless this is a bad situation.
BTW I’m missing 8,920 points since September 1 now – and counting (todays 100 points not yet counted in, because I wait for the history information on the end of the day).
Check again. The last time somebody reported it, he misread the information of the mail.
Try it. I think that the support team will be helping to establish the ownership and in changing the email. Maybe there will be some problems in doing so, but they will try.
Although it has been repeated time and again, the idea that there is an automated banning system is at work will not die.
I guess they have automated systems to set flags, but according the official information there are human supervisors before a ban is enacted. Even if there automated systems – such programs tend to fail just like humans do. What is needed is a review system – this exists. What is needed too is that the system is working fast – this might not be sufficient. And that part is sad. Mostly for the victims but for Anet and the players (especially friends of victims) too.
But there are other nationalities playing the game and in some countries it is against the law. So if you play GW2, you have to keep in mind the sensitivity of the world.
Just the usual way (either ingame bug report or ticket). A ticket might be better because you might add screenshots.
Never on the forum, because that is name-calling and is not appreciated.
There is only one way to go: write a ticket about it and have a review. Once the ticket is older than 3 days, you can put the ticket number in the special “3 day and older” sticky thread.
Mods on the forum or friends on the forum cannot help to change the situation.
There are admin’s that read this that can. It’s impossible to post about it when they close the ticket on the two day mark and force them to reopen another ticket. (Can’t ever get to 3 days). Also the person’s account on forums is also banned thus he can’t personally post.
The thing is that admins NEVER do anything to help if they see something on the forums ever. Having the whole guild post in the thread will not change this fact.
The support team also is not 24/7. The best we can tell is that they work on a 8am to 5pm CST work day.
Somebody banned can still use support! It was made that way that you don’t have to have an account to do that.
As far as I have read several times on the forums the support team IS working 24/7. I guess they are not having a full team at midnight or on sundays, but that is a different matter.
There is only one way to go: write a ticket about it and have a review. Once the ticket is older than 3 days, you can put the ticket number in the special “3 day and older” sticky thread.

There is no phone number.
This achievement can only be done in one session. So it is no bug.
Maybe it would be good to have such cross-problem explanations collected in a sticky somewhere. Thus these won’t get lost and can be pointed to if the need arises.
There are way too many bad ideas by victims of suspensions or bans and of course they don’t come back to correct their incorrect statements when they got reinstated. Only a few would do so. The others are much too happy to play again.
According to what you write, there might be a suspension for a character name that does not fit with the rules.
But then again, you could have earned it for griefing = trying to stop the fun for other players.
If you really want to now, you have either to wait out the suspension and you will be asked to select a new name upon your return or you write a ticket. You won’t get an official answer on the forum and I don’t think you would like to hear anything bad about you in public.
(edited by Michael.4791)
So it has been only the jewels that caused a problem before. The other part is either unrelated or new.
I might be mistaken, but I think that I read here in some thread that applying jewels or runes will turn the manufactured items into being soulbound. I don’t remember if they really show off the change or not.
He should contact support! Just like what the screenshot says.
Then make a ticket. This way you can discuss anything in private with Anet staff.
The explanation is in the attached sreenshot. No need to explain more. You might be asked to change the offending character name, when you return.
It’s no bug and there have been already threads on this on the forum. No need to open one more.

The Hall of Monuments came with the GWEN extension. If you don’t have that, there is no point in having the 2 accounts linked. You didn’t mention GWEN.
Upon linking GW1 and GW2 the GW1-account gets the email and password from the GW2-account. Linking can be done via your own account options on this page.
You can try to gain access to GW1-account via a support ticket. To access GW1 you need:
- mail
- password
- one character name
If one or some of that information is missing, you may contact support.
I need help, you see I was such a fool and forgot that I set my rank to another which was based in a squad rank in our guild system but then relising that leader rank, the rank I made myself with no leader permission, so now somehow “Korbax” is the leader, I’ve got proof that I own it, print screened them IG, I’ve sent mail to give it me back and if refusal would be reported, and he’s been inactive all the time. May I please get my rank back. It won’t happen again. Please respond asap, it’s been around a week and it’s killing me.
Character name: Ricole Tohvel
Try it with a ticket, but I cannot promise, that they can do anything about it. If you read the available information it says “We cannot / won’t interfere in internal guild affaires.” I would try anyway, at least their is a chance they might be able to help you.
BTW Yesterday was another low on gathered influence for logging in: just 4 out of 20 characters were counted.
I never found out any hint, for when it counts or when it does not, but usually the first few characters of an account count.
There is a limit of 10 private messages somebody can receive. Let your friend check her ingame mailbox for that limit and when she has 10, let her delete some old messages. Chances are that your mails will pop up then.
