@Sogz: As a father I have learned 2 things:
First, keep your mouth shut – so not to get into trouble.
Second, accept some borderline things coming from the kids – just be a bit tolerant.
That were some big lessons for me and I learned them well. So I get upset sometimes and I’m glad there is no voice chat when I fall to death from a jumping puzzle for the 100th time. At the same time I’m not off to report any “bad” language, but only if it is over the edge. I don’t accept bullying of any kind.
We can tell something clearly without using foul language. Even if we don’t like what is going on.
1) 1st/main character on both accounts didn’t get the HoM Portal Stone after creation. Subsequent characters created did get the stone without any issues, and I made quite a few. (Resolved with Portal Stone Merchant at LA)
2) 1st/main character on both accounts didn’t get any influence added to the guild upon logging into the guild. Yet other characters did. This was observed occurring for at least the first 2 months or so after post launch.
3) I used the Tome on Influence on my 1st account with my main character and it was added to the Guild influence without any problems. But when I used the Tome on my 2nd account with my main character, nothing happened. I am still short of 1k Guild Influence.
Answer to 1 – yes, for me it was exactly the same
Answer to 2 – I have the same problem with logging in. Not all characters to log in get their daily influence of 10 points. I have now 20 characters on 2 accounts. 20 is the maximum number for receiving 10 points influence. Starting with number 21 it will be only 5 points. For yesterday I received 60 points for all 20 characters (should have been 200). Accumulated loss of influence points from missing login bonus is 6,610 since September 1 up to yesterday.
Answer to 3 – anything fine with me. I got 2 tomes and I received the promised 2,000 points for them. But I know that other had the same problem with the tomes.

For asking support you don’t need to have an account. An support account consists of an email and a password that can be (and should be) different from your game accounts.
If you have linked your GW1 and GW2 accounts, they share the same password now. As you have not given information on that fact, I add this information to you. In such a case, try your GW2 password with GW1 and it should be ok.

@sogz: you new your name was borderline at best. And you still continued with doing it? You really want to know why it happened?
Anet employees have stated several times that no action is taken, when there is no report. So you can swear in private messages or guild chat, if nobody reports it. But why take a chance? I don’t see a necessity to swear.
@Monkines: Do you really ask yourself why Anet employees are deleting insulting posts? Those get reported as well.
@Cover girl: This forums are for the players. Sometimes Anet people are joining. But mostly it is done to moderate the forums not to answer questions. If you have serious questions, you have to ask them to support.
The profanity filter is not perfect. It cannot be perfect. Not with the game being played all over the world with several dozen languages spoken by its players. Therefor the additional rules. It is up to Anet people to decide once a report came in. They check, they decide. And we have to abide. And if anything runs its way, the GW2 world is a lot better than that behaviour in other MMOs and areas. I don’t regret it is that way. I support it Anet-style.
You linked those 2 accounts and that’s the result.
I used the linking to change email and password to be unique. That they are shared for GW1 and GW2 is no big issue when this data is not used for something else.

The suspension is the warning. If they learn from it, ok. If not, they’ll receive more of the same kind.
Reddit is a place where people are ranting. It is not the place to look for the truth. Anet’s people have their proof. That’s all I need to know. Reddit or players stories here – I don’t necessarily believe anything told. I wouldn’t even believe anything what a friend would be telling me. Not many people accept the blame. Anyone who does – is getting my praise for it. They are brave and honest – to others and themselves. Most people whining and accusing Anet are of a different kind. Anet makes the rules: take it or go!
Support can delete those wrong IPs. They have done so already. Just go ahead and write a ticket.
Anet recommends that email AND password should be unique for playing GW2. In case that somebody tried to access my account, I would ask support for changing email AND password. Again: just write a ticket.
BTW I guess that there are legit players in Japan (or almost any other country of the world). Therefor closing down those IP-ranges cannot be done.

The word of some player is no fact. The chatlog is. In any official remarks there was a reference to chatlogs. So I BELIEVE that Anet has sufficient evidence. At the same time it was stated that humans do the decisions on suspensions for chatting bad and bad names. It is natural that humans can make mistakes (more than machines can do), so there is a way to ask for a review.
I’ll never ever believe somebody (for good or bad) who is posting on the forums. I have no information or facts and I don’t know those people (even if I would know them, I would not take sides). So I’m never in favour for or against anybody here. I simply try to get the facts to them, that might be helpful for a solution or a review. That’s all.
What I hate is the unfounded rumours and false accusations of “victims” that are ranting against Anet. Especially if you can clearly see, that those people don’t seem to deserve some help because they ARE bad and they simply don’t get it.
Write a ticket with the support.
You should be able to see a history of what you purchased in the gem store. At least that is what I saw right when the game was started. I’ll check again today and if it is still there I’ll edit it here.
As promised I add this with edit: The last 10 or so purchases in the gem store are still to be seen at the right bottom side of the gem shop. Just make screenshots of it and you have your receipt and document for the support ticket.

As you get the points AFTER rezzing I don’t see where you will get other XP while you are busy rezzing. (Except for an event you participated in is ending. Anything else needs you DOING something to earn XP.)

There were complaints that other methods of abusing will not get punished. I don’t believe that either.
If you can give evidence Anet will act on any foul behaviour. And that is as it should be. Nobody can be punished if there is no evidence.
Another question raised: why is player XYZ not been punished because he has been worse than me?
First, that is not wiping away your mistake. You have been receiving a penalty for your mistakes.
Second, he has not been reported yet. But sooner or later he will be (maybe you’ll do it?) and then he is getting what he deserves.
No, there is only account rstoration and currently it is used for hacked accounts. At the same time they will give only one restoration for the life of the account.
My suggestion. Level 8 is not much. So start a new one and save the restoration for later. You never know if you will be hacked sometime. Although I have been save for a lot of years, I don’t consider myself to be save all the time. There is no 100% in security.

Why should they bother to tell you, that they changed something to make life worse for RMT or botters? Why should they tell you, that they turned of some exploits?
They don’t want to tell us anything about new content, because they want us to explore that for ourselves.

Such arguments are not clever. Names are repeated everywhere, so you cannot copyright such a name.
As there have been several posters copying the rules here, I don’t have to do it again. Anet is ambiguous intentionally. You cannot make rules governing a game that is to be played worldwide that will fit once and for all times. You need room for moving. That’s why it is up to Anets employees to set the frames. They will check it, they will think it over and finally they will decide.
Just don’t discuss their decisions. Try to get a review and if that fails simply live with it and follow the rules and decisions.
Write a ticket via support. That would be the best way.
Is your mailbox empty? If it is full, you will not receive anymore mail.
This cannot be discussed in public on the forum. Only via ticket. If the ticket was answered as being final, you could only ask for review.
Repeating it on the forum or in another ticket won’t help you.
Nobody here has enough information either to support you or to claim that you are tricking. We have to leave it for Anet to solve it.
GW2 is not connected to the NCSoft master account like the GW1-account was. As I don’t read anything about a linked GW1-account, I would not count on the NCSoft master account for being helpful.

The OP asked about macros. You can use the equipment but you cannot use macros.
It is an exploitation prevention. As you can save your credit cards within the gemshop, some hackers would be able to exploit this stored information. Thus they put in limits for our purses.
Anet surely likes to get as much money from us as we would be willing to spend. But returning money when somebody skimmed your card will be a pain in the bottom for anybody involved. So its best to have a limit.

If you continue on bad perceptions, it will not help anybody. Sending money alone is no reason for a ban. It was stated here by an official. Stating it differently by players because of msconceptions doesn’t make it true. Even if you continue saying so.
As was said before, here are Goldsellers posting too. Nobody knows for sure (except Anet employees) who is phony and who is real. I don’t believe about a dozen postings and I don’t perceive them as a “majority” of players. It is always that the suffering people are more outspoken than the normal people on forums. I don’t have numbers.
False positives are a result of a fight against the bad guys. This is said. But I do believe, that Anet tries to avoid false positives and that they try to correct them as fast as possible.
Anything else is gossip. Unfruitful gossip.
You have an option to link the 2 accounts on registering GW2. Once you have missed this opportunity I don’t know a way to get it done afterwards.
If there is one, you will have to ask support via a ticket. You won’t like to have your account details discussed on an open forum.

well i am terribly sorry to hear about what has happened to you im am also very glad that i have read this post. I was planning on sending some of my IRL friends and maybe some guildees some gold as a Christmas present but now know that i will get banned for mailing gold means i wont be doing that. It is really lame that we cant spread Christmas cheer for fear of getting banned.
That to send money ingame to friends would result in bans, is an unfounded idea by some players on the forum. I simply don’t believe it. At best sending money may raise some questions and sadly some bans might be a mistake. But mistakes call for a review and a rewind of a ban, they don’t call for hallucinations.
Oh PS. Soylent Green is already in use…. and obviously not flagged…

And yes there are other names that should be changed, but I fail to see how other peoples bad behaviour makes your mistakes acceptable. The rules are easy to understand “Don’t take bad names and don’t use names where other people might have rights on.” That’s not that difficult.
Of course you have that file. Everybody has it. There will be only a problem if something is interfering or disturbing it. Thats the file where all the updates should go in.

Problem: I can’t invite any new members to the guild without getting the message: “You have reached maximum number of guild memberships.”I am not trying to join another guild I am trying to invite members to my guild and even if I was going to join another guild I’m only in 3 guilds currently which isn’t even at the max of 5.

There is a limit on the number of open invitations too.
There have been several updates during the last days. Anet is used to such incremental updates. They do it in GW1 and they do it in GW2.
Just check here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates for the latest updates. This may tell you too, if there is an update for you in the pipeline.
Try deleting your older mail. There is a limited amount of mail you can keep in your mailbox.

The mail folder is for the account, not for the character. So your answer will be true only if your hero is the first character on your account.
Anet does not offer telephone support. You will have to open a support ticket via the support you can reach from this page too.
Because you might have to add personal information which is not good to be placed in public, the support ticket is the best way to get it cleared.
Maybe the FAQs on the support page might be helpful to solve this problems too.

But each one, that is reported successfully will get Anet on the track and helps them find solutions even for the ones that you missed reporting.
Yesterday there was a low point on influence gathering for logging in: 50 points for 17 guild members that logged in. This means just 5 out of 17 got their points. 12 members or 120 points were lost.
I don’t like it. It seems to get worse than better.
PS Another low point: on the morning of December 25 I received only 40 points. 4 of 17 guild members. One account nil, the other just 4. Sad!

As far as I know you had to enter the new full code on the account page. At least that is what I read about the upgrade on free trial.
If you are unsecure about it, look into the support section, there might be answers to it already. If that is not sufficient, open a ticket there.
No, they cannot restore items that were lost for such a reason.
And if you are right, the ones who accused you wrong need to get a punishment too. Anet said that wrong accusations will get those people in trouble too. Don’t let them go of the hook.
But it shows to there official site only. It’s just a promotion.
Whatever you do (or Anet might put in as safeguard): nothing is 100% bullet proof.
Although I think that some explanations would make sense for getting help, Anet is a company and its employees have to work according the rules that are set up and known by the players. So no room for anything beside that.
To the OP: I suggest you try via a support ticket and ask for some goodwill in order to get account restoration. But don’t try this a second time and don’t do it in public. Goodwill by companies does come as a secret. They don’t want that to be exploited.
That can be done via support. But as your former GW1-account and your brother’s GW2-account are linked now, the GW1-account-email will be changed too.
The authorization is only been asked after somebody entered account-email and password correctly.
If I were in your place, I would ask via support to change the email as well. Or I would try to get additional security. Look at this site to get the options Anet is offering.
Anet recommends that we players are using unique email and unique passwords.
Some emails and passwords are stolen from other websites and databases and they will be used by hackers with Anets games.
I received some emails for WoW and other games (some that I don’t even play) in order to prompt me to answering account details for an attempt to hack me there later on.
Make a support ticket about it. Explain it all. Add the email you got.
Something should be working then.
Whenever I think that I got an idea on why the log-in-gains on influence points are not working, I get it crushed whenever I log in to evaluate that idea.
Influence points for log in is still not working. My guild is lacking already 5,840 points since September 1. Just for that problem alone.
