They should have an option that auto switches into town cloths whenever your in a town, then maby I’d actually use them more and buy them from the gem store, otherwise their useless to me.

I see they did add a hotkey option lately but its not enough, they should stay on me whenever I’m in a major city and not go away every time I take falling damage like from the jumping puzzles in lions arch.

Permanent content, usually when a big patch comes it means something new, but instead in gw2 it means wasted space cause it won’t be around for long v_v

Overall, even the difference from lowest to highest is probably under 5%.

That looks like something that was taken before the game came out which seems very fair, but now everyones rolling warriors because they have the most dps.

Dragon Knight, because we currently have 1 less heavy class then medium or light and also cause we need a more darker heavy class then warrior or guardian. My original thought was actually Dark Knight but then I see this game has so much to do with dragons and that can be used as part of the classes lore in some way.

I can see the story in the character creator now, which dragon do you serve, just like which god you serve in the human story.

On Medium and High it adds more details to portal effects and 3d slightly wavy water, but other then that ya I don’t notice a difference.

I see it says something about cloth but cloth still looks the same to me on all 3 settings. The banners in hoelbrak move around just as much on low or high.

Shields in this game aren’t shields at all, they are weapons, which is pretty dumb, they do seem to increase defense a little but not enough to make a difference, their biggest stat is their weapon damage so basically their treated like any other offhand weapon like daggers and swords <_<

I really wish shields ment something, I use them in any other game but in GW2 I never saw a purpose…

Damage or completing an objective as far as I know, if your just buffing or healing you won’t get anything.

I support this thread. People have been complaining about it since beta and arenanet never did a single thing about it, go to the tech support forums and see there are more performance issues there then general technical problems. Its pretty obvious this game is running a lot slower then it should be so why doesn’t arenanet ever do anything about it v_v

Every game gets an optimization patch after the first month or two, and here we are nearly a year later (longer counting beta) and still no optimization, the games been running as slow as it did on day 1, not a single things been done about it… look at WoW it really started to lag around wrath of the lich king and blizzard fixed that in cataclysm with dx11 mode, it was a real speed up, and even skyrim doubled its framerate over time with a lot of performance updates, so why isn’t gw2 getting any?

I’m really starting to feel the neglect here, I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to deal with it, I think I’m going to start looking for a new mmo soon and that’s that.

I’m not saying graphics are everything but I can’t play a game that runs like crap either, even on lowest settings the game lags in wvw and lions arch and several other areas, and im running a quad core with a brand new dx11 card here, that’s ridiculous…

I’m also tired of everyone telling me well its an mmo, its not going to be the same as single player games, well there are plenty of mmo’s that are more powerful then gw2 and still run better too, age of conan, rift, and a few upcomming cryengine 3 mmo’s that seem to run great too, so again, why can’t gw2 do something about it v_v

It seems like we really need another heavy class to balance things out more, currently we got 3 lights, 3 mediums but only 2 heavy’s, a darker knight type class would be great, it seems guardians are good, warriors are neutral, a more evil class would balance things out even more.

Problem is Arenanet created a game where roles don’t matter so everyone wants to dps.

Turn FXAA off, that crap is terrible and idk why Arenanet included such a thing, they should of just done msaa like most other pc games v_v

Some performance improvements would be nice, the game still runs as slow as it did at launch, look what Bethesda did with Skyrim in a year, they doubled the framerate, but Guild Wars 2? Nope not a single optimization since beta. What did ArenaNet do fire most of their dev team after the game came out?

Something thats really bugged me lately is the music no longer plays wile you are creating a character, thats something I really loved about GW2 when it launched, idk if you guys removed it on purpose or it stopped playing because of a bug but I really wish you would bring it back, especially when I get about halfway at about choosing my hair styles and face options, that third music track really made the character creator feel epic, I’m sad to see no music at all plays anymore after the title screen

This is the most neglected game I’ve ever seen, arenanet hasn’t had a single performance patch since the launch of the game and they know its running terrible on even the highest end pc’s.

After a year of putting up with this my only conclusion is they don’t care, all they want to do is keep spiting out new content and gem store items, they will never fix their broken game ever, its like they fired all of their engine programmers after the game was released…

I thought they said the maintenance was tomorrow… today is not tomorrow! >:(

Seriously, this games had a patch almost every single day since release but not one of them has improved performance at all, why the heck not? This game is obviously running poorly, even people with the newest video cards are lagging, the game shouldn’t be running this slow, so why haven’t ArenaNet taken any effort to fix it?

I’m not saying I know more about game development then they do, but I never seen a game completely ignoring the issue like this before, most games come out with optimization patches at least a month or two after release, but GW2 hasn’t had a single update to run it any smoother, I mean really, are we ganna be stuck with a slow game forever or what?

Couples that celebrate weekly or monthly anniversaries usually break up faster, so this cant be good :O

Are these performance issues ever going to get fixed? I post this here because I’m not reporting it I just want to discuss it, it seems like people with the highest end hardware are lagging sometimes too, this is the slowest game I ever played but it doesn’t even look as good as say Crysis or BF3 or Skyrim but it runs 10x slower.

Are they ever going to improve performance at all? I’m getting tired of waiting around forever for if’s and buts, I even stopped playing the game until they get some sort of optimization patch out, I’m getting sick of it, I’m can’t deal with all this unnecessary lag forever, when is ArenaNet going to stop ignoring it and do something about it?

Ive noticed this with anything that increases crit chance, nothing works at all, I even tested really high crit gear (without precision) on the test dummies vs naked and I saw no difference at all, the critical chance stat is not working!!!

Only precision seems to increase critical chance, nothing else.

In my honest opinion if nothing changes from here on out, I see myself quitting very soon.

For one the waypoint costs are killing me, they are starting to cost more then my quest rewards which is rediculous, they need to redo the system and base it off distance and not level. I dont mind paying a lot to travel large distances, but when the waypoint right next to me still costs almost 2s thats a slap in the face.

Performance issues are out of control, people with the highest end hardware still having problems shows the game needs to get optimized and fast. I can not live with these framerate problems forever and so far there hasnt been a single patch to improve it. Im almost at my quitting point with this issue, if the game is never going to get fixed then I cant bare to live with it much longer.

Then the gameplay itself, why anti farm code, its only hurting people who are just playing normally. Im just playing with my friends helping them out in low level areas, I get some nice items for about 5 minutes then BAM! nothing but low level items for the rest of the day, wtf…

Then I also heard boss doors in each dungeons are on timers now, what are you ganna do when your group gets their early, take a break? No thats ganna make everyone wanna quit, people have no patience, thats a fact with todays generation, you put a timer on boss doors and groups are ganna disband. Was this suppose to prevent farming? What about the rest of us just trying to play normally, eventually where all ganna get better and run these dungeons faster, its not something I wanna have to deal with for the rest of this games lifespan…

Finally mods, I know arenanets official stance on them is not to have them but thats not stopping anyone, Im starting to see them pop up, ui tweaks and new mouse combat and sound effect replacers, you cant stop it so just please allow them, people are starting to get pretty aggrovated over trivial things that could easily be fixed with addons, like removing the border around the screen. So please add modding support, with xml or lua or html or whatever, its a lot better then forcing people to hack their game files and potentially get banned…

its been happening to me all the time since the game launched, very annoying i have to quit every half hour and restart the game just to keep playing it…

ok, even though his laptop sucks we all still cant deny there are fps problems, even people with the newest cores and video cards are having problems, arenanet needs to step up to the plate and start optimizing their game

Yes please, I’m noticing a lot of ninja patching lately with no explinations, also where are the performance improvements? I havent seen a single increase since the game was released, where not going to have to live with this lag forever do we? I cant bare the thought of dealing with low framerates on a machine that runs crysis and other games maxed fine…

This is why I just use a third party program like Xfire, especially recently with the invasion of privacy blizzard has been doing with their screenshots, encoding peoples account info into invisible watermarks, I hope to god ANet never stoops to that level…

I just started having this problem today, every time I wanna remove dye and go to save it by closing my character window the game crashes with a send error report.

Worked fine last week but now, it crashes every single time…

I’m having the same problem with my Norn Guardian set, the Mending Heavy Armor, I got every single piece except for the pants during my middle levels and I’m absolutely sure I didn’t miss it, I wanted to complete the set, so I kept choosing that piece all through my rewards and now all of the sudden I stopped getting them.

So then I looked up gw2db and guildhead and the wiki and the mending pants don’t even seem to exist, wtf!

How could they offer me a set like this and not let us complete it, that’s like being a coin collector and you get one of those books with 9 slots in them, you get 8 of the 9 coins but then find out the 9th coin was never even printed, what a slap in the face, thanks ArenaNet…

With certain traits virtue of justice does way more damage when its activated then when its passive so its something I try to keep activated as much as I can.

Same problem with 30, it locks at 25 instead making it just a tad bit choppy…

I had no idea there was even an option, this should of been a gem store item, along with an appearence change too.

Generic answer WoW, but I felt quite betrayed by Blizzard over how they been treating us lately, I quit that game a few months before GW2 came out and just waited patiently for it.

It wasn’t really GW2 that took me from WoW, it was more like WoW that drove me away to seek out other games.

Indeed which is why every guardian in the game is wielding one, compared to every other weapon its the holy grail of guardians, all 5 skills do damage, all 5 skills cause conditions, vs every other weapon only having some damage skills and some condition skills, makes wielding anything else besides the greatsword pointless.

All 5 skills on the greatsword do NOT cause conditions. By itself, in fact, the greatsword causes LESS conditions than the sword (because the sword #1 hits faster which means more burning, and has blind on #2). Also sword/torch does damage with all 5 moves as well.

Sounds to me like you’re blind to what this class has beyond greatsword. It’s mandatory…TO YOU.

With the right traits you can cause way more stacks of burn and vulnerability with the greatsword then any other weapon, you just can’t get that with the sword, all you get with the sword is a short blind and thats it, I don’t think you been playing your class as much as you claim to be.

The problem is they tried to solve what they thought was the boring passive talent trees, but I liked the old system better, I would much rather prefer traits that added 10% power or toughtness then more damage against burning or blindness causes vulnerability, at least you know they are working and are always with you.

I think mmo’s are going over the cookie cutter builds the wrong way these days, instead of making traits that are more appealing, they are taking away the traits we all want to pick, they inherently made building traits worse, not better.

Now I’m not asking for a greatsword nerf, oh god no that would make things worse, what they should do is fix those other weapons so their actually more fun to use, like the mace, all the mace skills are channeling and they keep breaking your chains, also the shield is no fun at all, that 5th skill that pushes enemies away only stops the battle cold, all it does is annoy everyone by pushing the mobs out of their attack range, its a real buzz kill.

And the staff doesn’t seem that great, everything is in melee range or at least close to it, it should of been a full on ranged weapon, every other class gets a 2h ranged weapon, why can’t guardians?

Yes, I can’t believe there wasn’t a hotkey for this, I knew there had to be one so I spent a good while looking at the config over and over again, and finally gave up looking for it. I would use my town cloths a lot more if I had a hotkey I could bind to toggle them.

Same problem here, I tried playing with all my sound quality settings, makes no difference, also sometimes all my sounds play at once after the fight giving me a huge burst of loud noises.

And I support you, waypoint costs are absolutely rediculous in the game, we need an alternative way to travel, and I know they said they wouldn’t have mounts because of the waypoints buts its more about the vanity and collecting of them, most mmo’s have them, why not this one, it would really add a lot to the game and they could add gem store mounts too and probably make a lot more money in the process.

I wish we could rearrange weapon skills, it feels like each weapon puts their similar abilities in different slots just to mock you, like the greatsword stun is on the 5th button but then the hammer stun is on the third button, so naturally I keep trying to press the 5th button to stun with both weapons.

I’m not asking to customize the abilities, just to rearrange their order, please make it happen!

They should add a new option just for gold selling, it doesn’t feel like these reports are properly attended to with any of the current report options, sometimes I feel I been ignored or flagged to hide my reports from mods because I used the wrong report option too many times…

You know if they didn’t force us to farm this wouldn’t be a problem, jute scraps are so incredibly rare and expensive in the trading post, most people just give up on crafting, it shows in my guild roster, I don’t see anyone over 50 in any crafting that requires cloth…

I feel the same, they delivered everything I ever wanted, it feels like the game is so perfect like it was made specifically for me.

-They did a terrific job on the snowy areas, really detailed and rocky, my favorite theme of areas done right!
-They hired Jeromy Soule to do the music, my favorite composer in the industry, I love his work and I can’t believe he got in on this game.
-Role-less grouping, finally we can do what we want instead of people telling us what to do, you can go into a dungeon with all 5 dps and still be able to do it, still requiring some strategy and self healing of course :P
-The level scaling, its a lot fun when your grouping with low levels, no longer do you just round up a bunch of mobs and 1 hit kill them, it still feels like an even challenge.
-Just throwing it in here, the free subscription, been waiting for a dev to stand up and do that for years on such a high quality game like this, it could of easily had a sub and people would still buy it but they chose not to and thats why I love them so much.
-Norns, they finally made a viking like race instead of just copy and pasting dwarves from every other game, this time a taller race, the tallest in the game who go along with their snowy themed areas, my favorite playable race of all time in any game!
-Player homes, well home instances anyway, why do so many other games hold back on this, not to say it doesn’t exist, there are a few, but something I felt has been lacking in all the bigger mmo’s, finally done in this game, thank you very much!

The list goes on and on, I just can’t believe how many things ANet has done right for me instead of just making the generic clone, I love them for that, thank you guys so much for going the extra mile to create a different and better game.

I always wanted to dual mage, hold 2 asuras who shoot magic for me.

I’ve been wondering whats going on with that, cause my signet of resolve (best healing ability for guardians) always healed half my health, then I started collecting the mending set from my story and its still only half my health, I thought with all that healing power it would be at least 3 quarters by now, I’m seeing no increase at all…

There was one this morning but for some reason they neglected to post anything about it, I’m starting to get tired of these ninja updates, I wanna know whats being effected >.<

I don’t mind that its expensive for long distances but its terribly wrong that the waypoint right next to me still costs over a silver, they need to redo the waypoint pricing by distance not by levels, like every 50 yards or so costs a copper more starting from 1c.

Now when your going across half the map thats still going to be expensive but at least the waypoints in the same zone won’t be ridiculous anymore, and people can find ways to be money conscious like using the gates in lions arch instead of teleporting between 2 cities directly.

Ya I’ve done it lol, in other games where I wanted to quickly delete 2 or 3 characters I select the wrong one by mistake and I don’t know cause I’m looking down at my keyboard and going through the whole confirmnation process :P

Indeed, I would like this too, its really annoying, makes the game look cel-shaded which I dislike very much, I know the artwork is stylized but its not full on cartoon, we shouldn’t need outlines on mobs…

Indeed we really need this, I keep trying the spamming and scamming options but neither seem to be working, I still see gold sellers with the same names since the launch of the game, their obviously not getting banned… unlike everyone else who keeps getting random bans for no reason.

Just what the mmo industry needs, more pandas v_v
