I’ve seen the so call purchase walls. For example someone put in 5000 orch ore order at higher price, then another 5000 orch ore buy order at 1 copper price lower. This create a buy order wall … now that is market manipulation.

There’s nothing special about buy ordering 5000 ore. You do know that creating for example one Dusk/Dawn requires on average 42,000 ore? There’s a multitude of players who are Mystic Forging their way to precursors, and competing against each other with material buy orders to create them cheaper.

What has happened is that some skill or trait has gone from passive to active while you were harvesting and this has caused you to produce ruined product. For example, when a Ranger has the trait, Shared Anguish (Wilderness Survival III) and gets hit with a daze while harvesting, any immediate product will be ruined. A second example would be on the Elementalist skill Arcane Shield. If the shield takes 3 hits, it explodes. Should the shield take 3 hits while you are harvesting, after it explodes, subsequent product will be ruined.

This countermeasure should not be trigger when sending messages to people who are in your friends list or same guild. If a players encounters a spammer in either group, he can easily handle the situation himself.

I assume it would be easy to modify this script to IF/THEN check for these variables.

I was combining rare medium leg armor in Mystic Forge, and one of the exotics it pushed out is Account Bound, Soulbound on use. Is this supposed to happen? I’ve never seen account bound exotic armor or weapons coming out of the forge, only trinkets. And that was fixed a long time ago.

This bug was introduced in one Halloween patch, so we have now suffered from it for roughly a year. Time to fix it Anet. Please, it’s highly annoying.

Disagree. It sounds like you wish to get a buy order filled instead of buying directly, and having problems with that. If the buy and sell prices were close to each other, would you be satisfied buying from sell offer?

More flippers, bots, and a TP user interface with better usability would help you in getting the item you want at a lower price. Flippers provide liquidity to the market; they reduce the spread in items. Currently the spread in most GW2 items is high, not because of flippers, but because of a poor and time consuming TP user interface. The difficulty of managing orders is preventing the market from finding the fair value of items, resulting in wide spreads. Buyers cannot easily update their offer to beat demand from competitors, sellers cannot easily lower their price.

If it would be easier for both buyers and sellers to manage their orders, item price spreads would narrow down, and I assume you’d be happy to buy that item you want at a price that seems fair. Without a second thought towards flippers, which would still be operating behind the scenes with their lower margins.

As a real life example high frequency trading by algorithms accounts for half of all US equity trading volume. HFT’s are given preferential access to stock market servers and commission discounts, because they are market makers who provide liquidity and price discovery to the markets. The professionals are making it easier for the casuals to make a trade.

I would prefer the item names to be color coded based on rarity, even when you’re at 400 crafting. It’s confusing to differentiate between rare/masterwork recipes, especially when that text information is often not visible due to clipping.

Source for this data, please? I assume that using a Mystic Forge Stone does not affect your loot table chances at all.

The expensive permanent Personal Trader Express is bought for its utility value. However, it has a very annoying feature which is driving me mad: few minutes after being summoned it collapses to the ground and dies with a death wail, and your trading post window is closed. It’s not fun when you’re in middle of buying materials and your TP window is suddenly closed, which forces you to reopen it and key in all your search filters again.

Anet can you please stop the Personal Trader Express from dying if the user has a TP window open?

A much better solution would be to make it work like the Permanent Bank Access Express and skip summoning a Black Lion Delivery Agent in the first place, and just open your TP window after the icon is double-clicked.

Bought it, and don’t like the animation as well. It’s too similar to logging axe. Cutting down herbs.

Or put it another way, I hope that Anet will hold on to their goal that only 5% of they player base will ever get a legendary. As a player who has already put in the tremendous effort to get my legendary, I don’t want to see many more than the 5% of players running around with them. However it’s implemented, the precursor hunt should be epic and not too easy.

+ a whole list of scavenger item requirements that can only be acquired through beating tough bosses, acquired at different times at the day, and through solo and team work.

I used 160+ keys to get my one ticket, and friend got it in about 100.

Edit: Wife’s ticket took around 300 keys, which already feels quite unlucky. Agree with John that information like this is not statistically accurate, but it’ll give people a rough ballpark estimate of what to expect. Meaning that you shouldn’t think it’s easy to get them in 5 or even 50 tries, and budget your keys and prepare your mindset accordingly.

I ended up farming the kraits in beginning of water fractal. There are 3 groups of kraits and barracudas which can all drop loot. Got my Vial after about 2 hours with full MF armor, runes and food. Problem is that the kraits won’t respawn, so you need to get into the fractal again. The last 3rd group is also all veterans, which might be difficult for some classes. For ranger that was fine.

Is there any viable way to solo farm Vials in FOTM after the February patch?

Before the patch people were able to solo the swamp fractal trash mobs for vials (1, 2), but I’ve now been slaying them in full MF for 30 minutes without a drop of any kind. So it appears the drops on these have been nerfed.

Minor note: except when you Mystic Forge masterwork trinkets where the combine includes a hard-coded soulbound item like karma items, then the result is always similar souldbound crap. You can’t forge karma items that you have bought yourself, but you can get these masterwork trinkets as a result of a combine.

I’m now trying to test the Sigil of Superior Blood on the Mists target golems when at 100% health myself, but cannot get it to proc at all when wielding only one dagger. I can see Fire and Air sigils proc and the damage reported in log, but nothing for Blood. Do I need to be in less than 100% health for the life steal damage to proc at all?

I was going to sell an item for ~95 silver, and accidentally entered that value into the gold field and clicked sell button. So paid about 4.7 gold in extra tax there.

One day ago I added Economy Level 4 to the queue. The 10,000 influence was deducted and the event shows up in guild log. But the upgrade is not visible in Build Queue.

I am also unable to add any more upgrades to the queue.

Judging from the past, a fix to these wouldn’t help your bank slots. The last time Anet fixed souldbound trinket drops/forges to not be so, they didn’t retroactively apply the fix to those soulbound trinkets in bank.

Getting the ~2000 gold is still a major achievement, in one way or another.

I recall that if you equip two weapons with kill stack sigils, the first in alphabetical order gets activated. So it could very well be that the effect of the first legendary effect in whatever way their database happens to be ordered with gets activated first. I doubt they’ve actually paid attention to consciously designing for that.

At least when they made some rings which were previously soul bound as trade-able, they didn’t fix the existing items. Those are still soul bound.

I came here looking for other reports, since the same case apparently happened to me today. Soon after logging in the sold list reported I had sold an expensive exo item among a few others seconds ago, but for a long time I was checking and didn’t get that much money.

The new red text at top of the TP window is even more annoying. The one informing you that you need to visit a TP merchant to pick up your stuff. That’s obvious info, and the bright red alert font is unnecessary.

No that’s working as intended. If you put it 4 rare Greatswords, then you will get 1 random Greatsword back. So it can be the same rare.

There’s a 20% chance for an upgrade to exotic.

I have now been involved in killing two Champion mobs and dealing them damage for a long time, and both times it dropped zero loot. Only money.

I you hope Anet to take a look at that, please give more specific information of the item in question.

First people cry about bots. When bots are finally banned, people cry about not being able to buy cheap mats the bots had been farming in bulk.

Crafting material prices have spiked a lot recently, and therefore also rare prices go up from which Ectos are salvaged from.

Why? Nobody knows for sure and there has been speculation ranging from Halloween casual players or bots farming less, or less karma farming due to introduction of karma jugs. Or market speculation based on the Anet economist saying he has something coming in the Nov 15th patch for less wanted items.

OP’s issue #3 is very annoying. Forcing you to navigate to a separate tab just to be able to refresh and reset the My Transactions page, so that you can navigate to view a second item. Rinse and repeat for example for all the items you’re buying and wanted to update their buy offer. After making an updated buy offer, if you then want to cancel the original offer you need to do this refreshing again.

This is a gigantic usability flaw.

This ‘Error attempting to sell’ bug was introduced in one of the Halloween updates. I can’t remember which, but looking back on my Skype logs I started complaining about it to my fellow trader friend on October 26th.

It seems to be working like a sell buffer which is getting full. Once running into the error, and it doesn’t take much, you can wait for a few seconds to be able to sell once again. Or you can wait for a short time to be able to sell a few times again in a row. A longer wait is required to ‘clear’ more of the buffer.

You’ll always run into this error now when selling multiple times in a row, it’s guaranteed.

I got the same thing, and thought it’s some insider ‘kitten’ joke on a developer.

My gem purchase was charged, but I didn’t get the items.

I had 1000 gems in my account and purchased the 10 Mystic Forge Stones package for 450 gems. The gems were deducted from my account, so now I have 550 gems left. But Mystic Forge Stones were not delivered to me.

I’m not sure where I should be receiving the stones, since this is my first item gem purchase.

The purchase does not show up in my Recent Purchases transactions. Although that list has appeared to be lagging a lot for 1-2 days.

I have checked for the Stones in my:
- Inventory
- Pick Up
- Bank
- And went to the Mystic Forge itself to check

This happened about an hour ago. I purchased 800 gems right before this, so since that was successful I suppose you have the exact time logged.

Edit: Logged in to check that my inbox is at 1/10, if that being full would affect it. No Stones received so far.

Edit 2: My issue has been solved. When I logged in, I had been refunded the gems from the purchase. I made a new purchase and got the Stones immediately by mail. As a note it would have been nice to notify me of the gem refund by email, didn’t realize it at first.
