Everyone asking for a Symbol granting quickness, what kind of number are you talking about? Because anything higher than 0,5sec per pulse means that you would get 5+ sec of quickness with some boon duration, which is ridiculous.

This is a good point. Every symbol at the moment works off a 1s pulse so having quickness being applied at less than 1s means you wouldn’t have 100% quickness uptime even while standing in the symbol for its duration. On the flipside, if it was at 1s or greater, it would be highly OP, especially if you get some boon duration + a revenant in the party with the f2 facet.

If they were to ever implement quickness on a symbol, they’d have to break precedent: make it a 1/4s pulse on boon and make the quickness 1/4s duration such that youd be losing quickness the moment you leave the symbol. This would create an awkward situation in terms of balancing Writ of Persistance and the damage/number of hits applied by the symbol though.

In terms of buffing GS 4, I still think the idea of it being a mobile skill (accompanied by animation change) with lower cooldown and longer retal boon uptime would be a welcome buff that wouldn’t upset balance too much.

I could live with that. but also the gs3 needs to evade just like warriors 3. it has a bigger cd and gets interrupted so easily and the virtue leap needs and evade aswell. Both this skills r beghing for it since it only healls/remove condis on landing. at least the virtue when traited for damage should evade.

Before any kind of nerf on necros first buff their sustain. after that you can even remove epi from game.

Well i was thinking more on a wvw scenario. altho the quickness would provide good dps that insta damage plus slow and might and consi boost seems a bit better. but maybe it would depend on group set up. FOr solo roaming i think trap wins tho.

Same way you evade/escape with Scepter/Torch

Not every weapon has to be for every situation and for every game mode. That’s why you have weapon swap.

Thats why scepter/torch gets you killed fast. now if u run scepter/shield or scepter/focus becomes a very diferent story. Hammer should have the same survival gs gives( wich isnt much ) at least. Its a 2h weapon for melee range.

Or to be used as an escape tool aswell and get some distance from enemys therefore surviving longer. We already have enough protection and if the trait gave the protection back then it would fair and viable for pve wich seems what u are sugesting.

Wrathful Strike should apply three stacks of might for 15 seconds

I cant watch ur vid m8 but i use this build regulary and works fine. weap swap is important the way i use it. also i make the leap virtue ofensively and sometimes to burst on a weapon swap aswell.

You must be some sort of god to see the animations of a single person in a zerg of 50…

WvW is never only about playing in a zerg, please remember there are roamers as well as smaller skirmish fights that happen.

I doubt they would make a change for only a small segment of the population.

Thats the problem isnt it? They rather listen to the majority that likes zergging mindlessly and play lemmings instead of small scale where the skills matter the most specially when outnumbered.

Pretty much every build with warrior can do it because of passsive traits that u have to take and GS. use zerker gear with zerker weapons and trinkets. USe durability runes. Use GS and sword shield and if u want take bulls charge.

trap use to do direct dmg they where removed from traps same patch runes of the trapper came out.

But back then trapper runes where not that big of a deal becuase con where kitten in general.

But to fix the problem is not to add physical damage to traps. it lower stealth time trapper rune set. would be enough to mess the build make it a lot harder to play.

Trapper Runes were added in game about a year (September 2014 feature pack)before Damage was removed from traps(June 23rd 2015).

And again the Patch notes state they removed the direct damage from traps and I quote “Needle Trap: This trap no longer deals minimal strike damage, which would previously bring the thief out of stealth.”

I would use it because i switch weapon sets almost every 10sec. also the cds would hae to be reviwed ofc. id say 10s on 2 with a 600unit would be fine. leap

Tbh if the other changes i sugested took place it would increase our survival quite a lot. i would sugest chance on crit for symbol when hammmer traited or added on 5 wih 5sec duration.

You can do well on 1vs1 on a necro/reaper but like said above, no escape after entering a combat and on 2vs1 you will die always of they r not brain dead. all other classes are good roamers with utilitys to ayrvive and escape outnumbered.

I would love some love for hammer aswell. perhaps a slight increase of auto atacks and removal of symbol on #1 , make 2 a leap like gs and remove the root to cast on 5. simple and very good qol changes.

Nearly every class can build for perma swiftness, yet they all have the passive boost if they want it. Hell, some classes even have the choice between a trait and a skill. At this point it’s honestly just a QoL change, they could easily drop it on some unused signet or little used traitline if they don’t wanna buff guard in a combat scenario. Naysayers here are tbh just being ridiculous about it.

When Necros get the amount of leaps and shadowsteps as Guardians, then we can talk.

Thats not gonna happen ever. and its not even the biggest issue with that class

No one wants to be slow and sacrifice better obvious traits or runes. every class should just have the extra 25% speed movement and all other traits runes should give only 10% more. then it would be a fair choice. runnings travelers for 4 years is stupid and uncalled for. and as a roamer why would i spec for the shouts if they only give me that benefit when compared to virtues? IF shouts gave more healling then yeah.

I believe giving quickness with retal would be better aswell as casting while moving. The leap should evade while doing it. the zeal trait should have double the healling to make it viable.

I like the symbol to be a bit quicker, too. It’s always felt clunky to me.

Its the after cast that should be improved. and make it so you dont stop to cast it.

If u poke around too much about class balances you ll get warnings from moderators and a few days blocked on forums. has happen to me. each oportunity i get on a dev post i go there and make sure CLASS BALANCE is the biggest issue in game as people complain about it for years in obvious classes like necro. If any reply happens is to say that the issue at hand is another and if you ask where is the balance team polls and post all you hear is the sound of silence.

Necro reaper should have way more faster skill cast times for what it lacks in sustain. half the cast times it has now on everything to make sure we HIT with what needs hitting. in a poorly designed class that already has near no mobility and sustain at least that should be confortable. I would love to see insta wells for ex since they are so easy to dodge unlike dh traps , and the stability and heall well insta cast on char instead of on target. thats where they are usefull and so much needed.

I’m laughing about all this necro talk. All of you sound very bad. “I played over 100 games aka made it to Legendary. Therefore I am a legend.” False kids. I only play shirtless and I am unkillable 1v1. Part of the reason pvp community is so bad is that they cling to flashy titles and icons as some sort of symbol of skill. Yet less than 1% of then actually put their money where their mouth is an wager duel.

Doubt any of you would make 5 consecutive duels without losing, let alone over 500.

I so wanna try you for the fun of it :p

PRO TIP: Devs only allow necromancers to be viable when you have somebody hold your hand. Basically: Necro soloq is the hardest soloq

One more thing about actual design of the necromancer.

AOE damage isn’t the necromancers top tier aspect since Dragon Hunters, Engineers and Warriors have the best AOE damage.

Straight up Condition damage isn’t the necromancers strong point since engineers, mesmers, and warriors beat them at that.

They suck at mobility, they have second to the worst stability, no invulns or evades or blocks or invisibility… there actually isn’t any real reason other than boon corrupt that the necromancers are “viable”.

I’m sure we can bring up how several pro gamers have pretty much declared necros as kamakaze boon corrupt bots requiring no real mechanical skill other than to go in, corrupt boons, and then die.

Why not give necromancers something other than this mechanic if its SO strong it utterly guts the necromancer in every other aspect of their design?

So yeah; if they can spare the time away from playing guardian – Show us them mad soloq powremancer skills on anet twitch channel. Show us all how these powermancers are meant to be used.

Never gonna happen. THey know better.

Equip sigil of inteligence and sigil of agility. switch to GS press 5 for pull and imidiately 2 and u have 100%crit everytime on gravedigger. or just press 2 right away and its an instant hit.

If you are going to base of in the definition of the word competition, you need to answer: What are we competing for?

Servers are competing for the top spot. To say they are number 1 on the leaderboards. Just like in PvP, players are vying for the top dog slot to say they are #1. Yes, the scoring system is jank and the balance of servers makes me die inside, but it is still a competitive scene. And thus should be treated as such in terms of equal grounds to play on. Letting a server remain online and active when players are being affected by an issue that causes connectivity to said server to be spotty, then that is not equal grounds to fight on. As this causes an imbalance in the way that the server acts and reacts to players. As noted in issue Number 2

Dude i have to agree with him, why would i care being in the top spot uf i personaly dont get anything for it? ALso there s so much imbalance between classes in wvw that the simple fact that one server runs more OP wvw classes rules better. i do wvw for the fights only and smalll scale ones because zergging is mindless and even less viable for more classes.

If i wanted competition for “real” i would go on spvp.

I have issues with necro as it is a class that lacks A LOT but after talking and seeing other point of views, specially flow, i got in a g arena with him and duelled him a lot of times. i can say his builds works really well amd better than what i was using before, and feels a bit more confortable in wvw than in spvp. i advi e you to try the same, for what i know he s up for duels and so am i using his build with 1 or 2 changes that i prefer. I had to be proven wrong and i was, my build was more power pve oriented. This being said try a similar build that we use and then come back to say it isnt more confortable/better.

Yeah ive bee trying out necro in spvp and its pretty much this: i get pugs on pugs i do ok if they are near brain dead if they still have some juice on their brain and they are a warrior , mesmer, thief and dh ouch… the other classes i survive a litle better but bo life force at the beggining also hurts, its not like it would be op to have full life at start i think.

Anyone here has an actual link to a video of a necro in lets say, diamond or legend match?

There are only the usual “wvw montage styles”, not much in depth u can make.
If youre an experienced player your eyes will hurt cz of how bad enemies are in the vids.
If youre a new player and just wanted some power necro footage, ill give you a tldr:

Big numbers which arent even big dps wise, very unreliable and absolutely has a dozen counters enemy could do.
Its equivalent to zerker pistol pistol thief…you can make a montage, but……no comment…

If you still want a taste sample, youtube Hollts.

Ive seen holltz videos but its not spvp and most of those players he kills specially outnumbered r just bad. its fun to watch but many times i wondered “why did the other guy do that???” was actually trying to see an spvp legend or diamong video or a necro.

Guys what is normal is to have a MOUNT because no one wants to be slow when crossing fields to fight. lets say im in a guardian or necro, i either take travelers or run signet of locust or dagger trait wich makes me “waste” a better skil for what build im running ( either condi or power ) , now if we could have mounts then the choice to be faster while fighting would be ok. Ofc no mounts allowed when receiving or dealling damage, and mounts should be 40% speed.
