So long Treeface.
“…Kormir? I know not of whom you speak.”
I’d like to have it customisable to an extent. For instance I’d like to see each race have a different one for a start, then each profession have one, etc, then you can choose what one you want for each character.
Cute little doggie. See that’s what I mean, dog > cats !
inb4 cats v dogs thread
btw +1 for cats
Personally, I think you should only need to confirm for exotic or higher. When did someone ever get heart broken for salvaging a rare?
What we have as exotic now was meant to be rare at release. Rare was going to be the “it’ll do while I grind for exotic gear” gear. Now the “it’ll do while I grind for ascended gear” gear is exotics. They obviously just haven’t made the changes regarding rares and salvaging, though I do agree.
It seems the only way to really be able to enjoy the game is by studying the trading post. Just playing the game gets you nowhere.
I think you’re mistaking “enjoying the game” with “making gold in the game”. If making gold is what you enjoy sure, but I’m telling you there are a lot of people out there paying no attention to the trading post while enjoying themselves thoroughly.
I made my own Mystic forge conduit when Guildwars 2 just started and kept it since as a way to save my money. If I had checked the price more often I would probably have sold it. In my mind it was about 600-800 gold but it seems it actually had been worth over 1500 gold. With the way they made it obtainable again now it lost all its value completely.
Honestly if you lost out on selling it for 1.5k gold that’s your own fault for not paying attention to it’s price.
If this is Arenanet taking down high value items none of them are worth a thing now, we already know that legendaries and precursors will be easier to obtain in Heart of Thorns.
Meanwhile the players having these high value items will be robbed of their money.
What are your opinions? Is it fine if they just decide something should not be worth as much as it is?
As far as I’m concerned keeping your gold in assets is a gamble in itself, as your story is a testament to. Do what those who “run” the tp do. Learn from your bad investment/timing and move on.
I like OP’s idea, though I wouldn’t mind seeing some sort of extraction system implemented like ESO. Have everything in a list, mouse over it and hit R (or whatever you have assigned) to salvage, E (or whatever you have assigned) to accept. This way the moving of the mouse and clicking is minimized. I’ve found the system in ESO to be the easiest out of any game I’ve played.
That being said I don’t want to have to go to the proper crafting station to salvage items.
I agree. There should be colour options for a lot of things imo.
I just finished A Light In The Darkness. Previously I would have had no problem with seeing enemy names vs friendly names, but with this new rig I built it’s performance is much better, so the environment effects that you get in HotM, Death Shroud, Orr etc I actually get to see now. With this mission it was so bad that I kept running into enemies with the intent of avoiding as many as possible.
There really needs to be better options for those with colourblindness.
Note: I’m not colourblind, nor is my eyesight that bad. In some areas the environment effect is just that bad.

well 30 days ago there was a red post that said close seriously. So by know im sure it’s really really extra close seriously.
You know we’re talking about PR that uses “when it’s ready” as a determined timeframe, yes?
From what I remember us not being able to colour our weapons has something to do with the design team saying it’d “take away” from the original intent of the piece, or something like that.
I would like this implemented, but I don’t see it happening.
Is there any thread in particular I should report new bugs that I’ve found in the story? Or just post a new one in the bugs forum?
Dont know, but seeing how other people have posted a few..
The story log doesnt update anymore (maybe because whole Orr is lv 70?)
Ive finished the story, but can only look up what ive done untill the battle of fort Trinity
I just finished A Light In The Darkness, and it was fine up til Trahearne watched himself give the speech. After that I killed one vet giant and one ver abomination, then the story marker sat on the minimap. I walked around a bit and saw that Destiny’s Edge had spawned in the appropriate places. I finished that entire leg of the PS with this false marker on the minimap.
The other thing that I had was in The Priory Assailed, it didn’t start near the Durmand Priory HQ. It started just south of Thunderhorns Waypoint. That doesn’t seem right to me. There have been other instances that have the same issue as this, where the entrance to the instance are nowhere near the instance area itself. It could possibly get people very easily confused.
It’s a Krytan Wimphound. Bred especially for Logan.
#ShotsFired
It happens irl too. There are some pretty wimpy dogs out there!
I mainly keep perma tonics and throw others away, but I would love this as a feature. It would free up so much of my bank space!
Even though I hate having Anet spend hero points for me on lower level characters when we should be able to choose for ourselves instead of being hand held all the time like some kittening infant
deep breaths
No, I like this new system much more.
In my experiences with guilds – in any game – the guilds I have joined in gw2 are more likely than others to break up for no reason. This includes F2P games. I have no idea why this is, but there’s something about gw2’s manageability of guilds that seems to make them more volatile unless they’re massive or extremely tight-knit.
I don’t think the ability of having up to 5 guilds is what hurts the community. In ESO you’re also able to join up to 5 guilds – and see ALL their guild chats at the same time. Until one changes the colour of the guild chats (they’re all the same shade of green by default), it can get pretty confusing.
I’ve just had my 5th medium sized guild in gw2 break up since release and I’ve given up on joining 100% reppers. My guilds consist of a personal bank, a wvw guild, a fractal guild, a guild mission catchup guild, and the remnants of the guild that just imploded because I still semi-manage it. I’ve never had so much productivity from any guild as I have with these specialty guilds.
it looks like crap to be honest.
That’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it, but others – like myself – do quite like them.
But this thread is not about whether they look good or not. This thread is asking Anet to bring them back.
Agree, they do, and u cant fly either
You can’t fly with any wing backpack that they’ve given us, what’s your point?
This still isn’t about people’s opinions, this is a request to bring them back.
Q: How hard is it for people to stay on topic?
A: As long as someone can interject their opinion they won’t.
nom nom nom
She gives high level junk, greens and indirectly bank space.
The bank space is what I’m looking forward to the most.
If they add more noises to the Minstrel I want an option to turn it off. It’s annoying enough as it is now, and I don’t even have one.
Potentially helpful. On my Elementalist with Soldier gear (~2250 Toughness and ~15800 HP with some food) : go in from the left side of the mouth. Jump diagonally to the right side edge of the slope. My character got caught by a spike along the right edge of the fall. She was almost dead. I healed back to 100% HP, and then jumped forward to fall down the rest safely.
Shouldn’t have to change gear for a jumping puzzle. Traits, possibly, but no way should you have to get a complete new set of gear for it!
I’d be more inclined to go 1/2/3 for the traits. 1 being top and 3 being bottom, as one could easily assume.
I personally think Hero Challenges should give more Hero Points depending on the type of challenge. If it’s fighting a vet and two mobs, it should give like… 3? 4? If you’re just communing, one is fine.
But only getting one hero point per challenge is a little irksome.
Then what would we spend them on? At the moment I have about ~202 points on my 80 mesmer that has world completion, and has already unlocked every trait and skill. After elite specs come out I’m wondering if there will be a change to how we obtain/spend them.
Looking at it now it’s kind of odd. Of my world completion 80’s, my thief has 199 unspent points (after unlocking every skill and trait), my mesmer has 202 and my necro has 212.

Why do you even use Lion’s Arch for crafting when Ebonhawke is so much better?
All the crafting stations, as well as a Bank and Black Lion Merchant, are all within walking distance of each other, and there’s 0 congestion because everyone else uses LA or the Reach.
It takes much longer to get to Ebonhawke, which is probably the reason why it’s not congested.
Take my tactic for example. Instead of waypointing (because I’m cheap), I go PvP locker > LA. That’s two loading screens, which I’m happy to put up with because of my cheapness.
To get to Ebonhawke without waypointing that’s PvP locker > LA > DR > Ebonhawke. That’s 4 loading screens. No thanks.
Heck, I’d even go to my WvW BL.
Pistol needs something but I don’t think Ricochet was the right answer.
Quip is a waste of time regardless. :P
Unless your thief is really a clown.
I love purple.
It has a purple glow.
I was sold :P
I have mixed feelings about this.
I like them being spread out because it gives me a chance to explore. That being said, after I’ve explored a place once I won’t want to do it again on another character – excluding things like map completion.
I think it also gives it a better feel, for me at least.
With that being said, I hate having to run across town for the trading post from my bank – let alone having to waypoint to the guild bank for my stash. Even just having the crafting stations, TP and guild bank near each other would be enough – you can access your bank through the crafting stations after all.
it looks like crap to be honest.
That’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it, but others – like myself – do quite like them.
But this thread is not about whether they look good or not. This thread is asking Anet to bring them back.
Oh wow I’ve yet to play a few of my 80’s since the patch, but having ricochet removed is highly disappointing.
Anet please tell me I didn’t waste my time on Quip and Dreamer for nothing!
Well that sucks…
This really limits you from befriending people in the game.
It doesn’t limit making friends, it only limits what you can do with them.
Yeah that’s what I meant, thank you. Just feel like WvW is such a huge part of the game and you can’t play with new friends you make since the chances of finding someone on the same server are pretty slim.
Yeah after finishing everything PvE-wise WvW and PvP is pretty much all that’s left (apart from farming for skins).
I had a hard time of finding a WvW guild on my server that plays at a decent time for me. It can get pretty annoying, especially when I’m running on Sydney time.
I didn’t miss them, but I almost missed the black wings. I’m happy to join the chorus of “bring them back” for whatever item was only available for 24h.
That being said I’m sure they will be back. When I can only guess as to “when it’s ready”.
Well that sucks…

I don’t think you could have saved the character. The more I hear, the more I realize it had nothing to do with what you had equipped or traited or your utilities unless perhaps you were high enough level to have two trait lines unlocked. Anet decided X class gets X trait line(s) and tried to pass the blame down to players by saying “Oh we tried to match your existing builds”. They did not. They had a set line they planned to stick on each of the classes, your actual traits and abilities didn’t matter.
I’m inclined to believe this, at least in part. My L21 Ele obviously had not yet unlocked any trait points under the 2014 system, and thus has none in any of the lines. So what did I find? They committed 60 of my 80-100 Hero Points to full unlock of Earth Magic. This is on a character wearing glass gear, with no traits whatsoever. I can see it as a “We need to hold the hands of those who don’t know or don’t want to do builds, so we’ll give them survival traits.” but I cannot see how that build was in any way connected to a choice I made.
Oh, well, two low levels deleted. It’s too bad I didn’t really need the character slots, either.
I am beginning to think (after logging on all my characters) that it was one set for 80’s, and another set for pre-80s.
For example my 2 80 engies had the trait lines Explosives, Firearms and Tools completely unlocked, whereas all my pre-80 engies only had Inventions unlocked.
The skills that they all had unlocked seemed to be based on the skills they had equipped, but I’m not entirely sure.
It was said on the livestream that a level 80 would only need 60 points captured from world completion to unlock everything except the elite specs
Get out there and do some mapping!
Its changed.
Skill points and Spirit Shards?
Posted by: ColinJohansonA quick update on this one -> After feedback from presenting the original hero point count – we decided getting to level 80 will give you enough hero points to unlock all the core skills and traits entirely. Doing hero challenges (aka skill challenges) will simply allow you to earn all the skills/traits earlier before level 80. With the release of HoT, there will be options to spend the excess hero points earned from doing hero challenges in the world.
There are a number of other changes on 6/23 to make the experience from 1-80 more exciting, better-paced, rewarding, and fun as well after having the time to evaluate and player feedback from the updates last year.

ahh thanks for that. I was unaware that it changed.

I’d like a refund on the keys that I never used!
I wish there was a way to reset points. As one with many toons I do rich ore node farming quite a bit, which involves some running. I think I have the right signets unlocked on most of my characters, but for the ones that don’t it’s…irritating. It’s even worse when I see what’s actually unlocked on them.
+1 to a refund system.
If the price should be tailored to the individual player I want it for free. Talos knows I’ve spent enough on gems (I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s into the $5k mark).
But that’s a ridiculous argument in itself.
@Matazeruz I totally agree. I should have bought the ultimate.
Joffrey would have to be a necro. He seems to like to make things suffer for long periods of time for no reason. That way if he accidentally kills something he can bring it back and make it suffer even more. That and he doesn’t contribute anything to the team (take it easy guys, I’m a necro main. I understand and embrace the hate. This is just a joke :P )
As for Ned I’m not sure, but Sean Bean would be some lowbie toon in high areas purely because he always dies. But he tries to be honourable. Maybe a very stupid underleveled, undergeared guardian?
Don’t get me wrong, I think the outfits look nice and I’ve been impressed with the design and quality
Glad Anet are making the sales with someone. I liked them at the start (specifically for lowbie characters to look halfway decent when leveling), but they’re going further and further downhill in terms of design quality. I mean nipple wings? Seriously?
Tired of “Tired of Outfits” thread showing up every update.
I’ve posted this in another thread, I’ll post it here. This is specifically for those who say “oh it’s not that bad, I don’t see why people don’t like it”.
In the personal story mission “Forewarned is Forearmed” where you have to go into the sewers with Forgal. Any mob that is underwater in that – and I mean ANY mob there – can magically swim through the kittening BRICK walls. Then you’re screwed if you use a projectile because guess what? They’re obstructed! And then on top of that, Forgal magically kittening follows the mob through the BRICK walls!
That’s just a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg.
@BolkovonHarnfeldt agreed. The execution is horrid, but the idea is nice. I remember at release I was hyped for underwater combat. Now I’m just “Oh Talos please no not this again!”
You can just use “I like apples” password and activate mobile authentication.
Tybalt? Is that you?
I had noted this a little while back. With pretty much every new weapon skin set they’re releasing they’re completely missing the underwater weps.
Out of all the black lion weapon skins, only Chaos, Dreamthistle, Aetherized and Tormented have underwater skins. That’s 4 out of 22 sets that do have uw skins, with only one set having them at the vendor at this present moment.
I’d prefer an overhaul to the actual underwater combat then getting more skins for it tbh.
Nobody likes underwater combat. I’d be perfectly fine if I never had to fight underwater again. I despise the PS missions that force you to spend 90% of the mission underwater.
Is not it a bit too bravely to speak on behalf of all?
I like it, for example.
In most MMOs character can’t swim at all. In some of them – can not fight in the water. And in this one a whole unique system(!) created for water combat.
I do not understand what reason could exist to dislike it.
How about in the personal story mission “Forewarned is Forearmed” where you have to go into the sewers with Forgal. Any mob that is underwater in that – and I mean ANY mob there – can magically swim through the kittening BRICK walls. Then you’re screwed if you use a projectile because guess what? That’s just a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg.
Please don’t bother telling me that that’s not an issue to get mad about. It took me over half an hour to finish that quest on one character purely because of this kittening bug.
My only hope is that the Jade Sea is still solid if they release a Canthan update.
With the current underwater combat system I would hate to experience it.
Being a musician as well (singer/songwriter), I understand the “unnatural” feeling in regards to the instruments. I have too much trouble with the latency to actually play my harp, even just for S&G.
You’ll get trolled/hate from unexpected places online, but Arenanet have stated that it is ok to use macros in regards to playing instruments, as stated above. Just /block and keep on playing.
When did I last make a new character? Probably 5 days ago for key farming that I never actually finished.
When did I make a new character (full stop)? Well at the beginning of the game I made a new character. I made my second, third, fourth and fifth characters that same day too. The other three mains I have were born a day or two after.
The question isn’t worded very well.
I prefer the current price.
Making them account-wide would increase the price quite a bit, in order to compensate for the loss of income due to less being sold. And yes, people can claim all they want that more will be sold and thus that would compensate. But do we actually know that?
And what happens when people have bought it and few new players are coming into the game? That would mean that the income from them would basically become zero, due to people creating new characters would no longer need to buy another unlock.Plus, if they made them account bound then I’d make out like a bandit, many other players as well. I’ve already got a character with all slots unlocked so all my other 54 characters would fill up for free.
Pretty much this.
Across all my characters I have not once bought a single bag upgrade slot – I’m really anal about keeping my inventory clean (in any game, MMO or otherwise), so I haven’t really found the need for them (that being said I’ve not spent that much time in wvw. I hear it’s pretty bad sometimes). I just tend to visit the bank a lot on toons with small inventories. I’ve already bought the max amount of bank upgrades that I can (as well as having a personal guild bank that’s completely upgraded) and I’ve found that to be enough. If I need more space I’ll just go on a deleting spree with the dragonite ore.
With this being said, I don’t know how I feel about this discussion. Making bag upgrades available on all characters would be super duper handy (especially for those of us altoholics), but I see the very valid points about it reducing the income for Anet.
If the slots become account wide, one would only need 4 of them. That’s a given. How would the price be calculated though? And how much more would be charged per extra character bought after the initial 5, if anything? Or should we be charged slightly more when buying extra character slots if one has already purchased the bag upgrade?
If they do become account-wide, how would Anet replace this loss of revenue?
After all’s been said in this thread, I just don’t think there will be a single change made to the inventory slot upgrades – price or otherwise.
I wanted because of the look, because i wanted my character to use something expensive and hard to get and because i wanted people to look and comment and say: “hey, nice GS!” “wow, that is an amazing GS, can i see it?
”
But no, people just don’t give a kitten , but if i was wearing a Sunrise ( i wouldn’t go for Twilight because it doesn’t fit for my guardian [personal thing] ), things would be different.
No, it really wouldn’t be different if you had a Legendary gs. People don’t give a kitten about other people’s looks. Make something that makes you happy. Don’t make something that makes you think you’ll get attention from others. That’s your problem right there. Don’t care about them caring about your looks – because the fact is they won’t and they never will.
80 tomes of knowledge, or 60 tomes of knowledge and a level 20 birthday scroll.
You need one less if you play the tutorial.
Nope. Even if you’re level 19 and you use a level 20 scroll you will still only get to level 20.
yeah cheap sure… go buy them shiny pixels, they’re really useful to have
Example #1.
You paid for the game – you’ve paid for pixels.
I paid for a smallish plastic box with a nice cover. The pixels were just a nice bonus!
If you are farming obsidian shard, why don’t you just convert the bandit crest to obsidian shard. Obviously you’ll miss out on champ bag.
This is a bad way to go about it if you’re using crests. You’re much better off buying keys and grabbing the chests.
I agree with the gear treadmill. I was getting back into Tera until one day a wild update appeared. Guess what? Your gear is outdated and useless, and your max level toons still have 5 levels to go! I haven’t played since.
My favourite part about gw2 is the wardrobe system and appearance customisation. I guess that’s handy as the endgame is Fashion Wars 2.
The other things that I really like are jumping puzzles, gathering and world completion. I have always had a tendency in any game to hoard crafting materials, and it’s nice to have ascended to work towards. It gives me a reason to gather everything I see, and not just gather them because “I might need them later on”, which was the previous mindset.
