So long Treeface.
“…Kormir? I know not of whom you speak.”
Because you start with 5 character slots you can choose all the orders and unlock all the armors/weapons that you want. The only hitch is that you can only buy the specific order’s gear on the character that went into that order. Once you choose the order, you are given a warning saying that “This is permanent, you can only choose once”, so no, you can’t change your order choice unless you change it as you get the confirmation.
For instance, my main warrior is Priory, so she can only buy priory weapons and armor, but when I buy it, the skins are unlocked for all my characters, so all of them can use it. But my main character joined Whispers, so she can’t buy Priory or Vigil gear, only Whispers.
I am so glad the wardrobe system has been implemented. Saves using 2 transmute stones on every piece of gear I wanted on a different character.
what?
why not convert it into hero points?
this is ridiculous!
i do not use the mystic forge!
If you don’t use the Mystic Forge, those 800+ points you have are doing absolutely nothing for you right now anyway. So nothing is changing for you. Either way they’re going to waste if you don’t want to use them to craft.
Pretty much this. What I got from the announcements was that any level 80 character would already have most of the points they need to unlock everything bar the elite stuff, and I specifically remember that one would only need to do 65 hero challenges to get the last ones. Considering there’s atm like ~300 SPs available by mapping in-game, there’s plenty to go around.
If you’re not doing anything with your skill points and you don’t plan on it, then you’re missing out. There are heaps of weapon skins available only from the mystic forge. Find something you like and go for it!
Dunno why people buy these things. You need to gather 3000 ori atm to make up for the cost of the tool.
No one is buying it to earn money. People buy them for the convenience of never having to worry about having the right tool again.
Not only that, but you can equip them on level 2 toons and mine orichalcum-tier mats with them as well. Some people do buy them to make gold.
Yes definitely! That’ll finally give me something to do on my main character!
While we’re at it can we make underwater breathers craftable too? Backpieces are now – finally – craftable. Why the neglect for the UW headgear?
If you ever want to see a full “set” of gathering gear, the wiki has them sorted into their matching sets.
I’m still holding out hope that the new “not earning skillpoints with every level” won’t be as bad as I’m thinking it might. I think this is a good idea considering what might be to come.
I just hope there’ll still be ways to get SPs to make all the mystic forge weps that I’ve been eyeing off.
Vistas are never impossible to get to. There is always a path, whether hard to see or not.
If you are on a Charr I can understand your frustration. If you unsheathe your weapon, your character stands on it’s hind legs, giving you a better idea of where you’ll land.
A) topic already exists post was made about this about 2-3 weeks ago
B) its not gonna happen, as its too much effort for such a small cosmetic change that too few people would even consider wanting, and no, its not as simple as “just mirror the animations”. I will also wager it would be alot more work to accomplish this in GW2 than some ‘fan-made mmo’.
Pretty much this. There would only be a small percentage of people who actually use it.
I know your pain. But making them purchasable via pristine relics wouldn’t be the way to go. You’d get tons of noobs farming level 1-9 and the daily fractal for pristine relics. Fractal weapons are so awesome because they are so hard to get.
I’d rather them make fractal weapons craftable. Where the materials to craft them can only be farmed in the higher level fractals, so they players have to at least invested in some AR. I personally would like farming for tons of mats than farming for rng. At least then I’ll feel like I’m getting closer to my goal.
I wouldn’t mind fractal weapons being craftable either, but I think pristine relics could form part of the process, because right now they are next to useless.
I like the idea of these being crafted. I’m not so keen on the idea to make them like the backpieces though – with different looks at different tiers.
I’d say make them semi-legendary. Sort of like mystic forge tier, but crafted.
Or there’s another thought. Maybe make them available via the forge, using the mats that drop at the higher tiers, maybe with orichalcum/ancient wood parts used for that specific weapon. Eg for a sword:
-10 orichalcum hilts
-10 orichalcum sword blades
-some Shards of mists essence (maybe 5 or 10. I’m not sure how hard these are to get, but I know you can craft them with the lower tiers. Having a higher amount than suggested might be desirable.)
-gift of ascension
Suneka Darkess in her attire:
~Assassin’s Shoulderpads (human t3)
~Sneakthief Coat
~Carapace Vambraces
~Viper’s Leggings
~Aetherblade Boots
These colours complement the glow that comes with Quip. I’ve always been fond of green and purple, so the glow sets it off nicely.

Lana Darkess in her attire
~Glowing Crimson Mask
~Sorcerer’s Epaulets (human t3)
~Vigil’s Honor Vest
~Arms of Koda
~Apprentice Pants
~Aetherblade Light Shoes
I’m just waiting on HoT so I can finally use Twilight with this getup.
The only thing I’m disappointed about with the light armor is that there’s only one short skirt (apprentice) that seems to be mix-and-matchable. The rest have leggings and look odd without the rest of the set.
Burst is not DPS.
I’m done here.
I think most of your comment is unnecessary a uncalled for. You could have simply stopped at:
Some people choose to be friendly and help casuals. I usually just avoid them every chance I get.
You can avoid people without being a kitten. Period.
This is very true. I understand how sometimes people aren’t in the mood to help others. I dislike people who refuse outside sources and just constantly ask questions in-game, even if they’ve been told about the /wiki command, dulfy or whatever sites may be appropriate. With that said, I’m more than happy to tell people that if they have an issue, “/wiki <item of interest>” will give them a bunch of info on it.
Other than that, if I’m not in a charitable mood, I don’t bother saying anything. We were all noobs once – no exceptions.
If your friends or anyone you know has had this experience, tell them to block and report the abuser, then tell them to move on. It’s an MMO so there are always going to be kittens, but there will also be someone willing to help.
As someone who has fully kitted out a zerk mes as one of their secondary characters (main is a necro), I can say that – if actually used – they have quite a fair bit of damage.
My necro is also fully kitted in zerk, and she does nowhere near as much damage as my mes. You need to have a look at what you’re doing wrong. It’s not the class’ fault.
Also; if you’re going to claim something like this, I highly suggest actually posting numbers, builds, gear etc, because people aren’t going to take you seriously otherwise.

The latest version of this was datamined with the Balthazar attire and the rainbow unicorn finisher. I think it’s safe to say that it’ll be in-game very soon. Just keep an eye on the gem store.
True random has repeats in itself. The sample size you have here is nowhere near large enough to assume that you only get two different types of rings.
You’re just “unlucky”. The RNGods don’t smile upon you.
As for the OP, I’m guessing from his/her post they have some personal issues that cause them to have anxiety over this, otherwise it wouldn’t be causing them to want to quit the game(though it does give others the power over you when something like that happens, sort of like terrorists in that regards).
Forgive me if I seem to be overreacting to this. I’m having similar issues irl. My mother in law is stalking and harassing my husband and I, even though we’ve told her outright to leave us alone. I come to gw2 to get away from that sort of thing, but all I get is more harassment.
Meh …
right click -> block
right click -> report then
Did you even bother to read the first post?
To anyone who feels the need to say “block and ignore”, I do. Every single time, pretty much immediately after the pm. These are different accounts messaging me the same thing, and instead of being reactive, I want the option to be proactive and stop them before the harassment begins.
@Gaile, thanks for the response, but I did indeed mean private messages, not mail. I guess I’ll have to find a workaround that works for me. Would this be something that could be looked into in the future?
Don’t worry about being wary, just report them, block them and delete the message. Too easy.
we have green eye mask, we have red eye mask, we have a blue eyed mask..now we need yellow ones!
Why? I wanna look like a holy good with GOLDEN EYES
White and black would be great too
I’d love a purple mask. Letting us dye them would be much easier.
You get stupid people like that. I’ve put up lfgs where I want to go to a SW that’s brand new/20% or thereabouts. I post in the lfg “LF fresh SW map – I AM NOT A TAXI” (exactly that), and still you get idiots joining your party.
There’s no excuse for not reading the posted lfg. The descriptions are there for a reason. All you can do is vent about it to guildies/friends and move on.
Here’s what I’m doing with my 41 character slots:
Goals:
1. 1 character of each class of each race of one gender. [Completed except Revenant]. 14 are at level 80. Others are between lvl 21-34 intentionally to farm Silver Doubloons
Fully gear all 40 characters. Full ascended armors and weapons. [11 Ascended Armors/43 Ascended Weapons made]
2. All characters 100% map completion. Working on Charr Ranger. [8 of 45 completed]
3. All characters personal story completed. [1 of 45]
4. All Dungeons unlocked for all characters.You have 41 too? :O
Yeah I’m working my way through them all in world completion, gearing and leveling. I’m at 10 80’s. One is at 74 and one’s at 50. The rest are between 20-25 (thank goodness for those insta lvl 20 scrolls, right?). I used to have them all parked at the end of the Not So Secret jumping puzzle for the blade shards, but now I have enough to make all 3 versions of the backpiece, I’ve moved them to an ore farming location.
Peronal story is probably the very last thing on my list. When a toon hits ~60 I go through the personal story to “The Battle of Claw Island”, so I get all 3 keys from them. That being said I’ve run Arah story through with about ~4 of my characters. I’m so confident with it now I’ll take an entire group of players who have never done it before and just explain to them what needs to be done and when.
I’m saving 5 of my insta-20 scrolls for the 5 revs I’ll be making. The rest I use on key farming if I can be bothered to do so.
These are my other goals
All Dyes Unlocked. Completed
All Miniatures Unlocked. [LLamas, Mordrem Teragriff, Mordrem Troll, Mordrem Husk, Black Bear Cub remaining]
Full Wardrobe unlocked. 70k gold worth of skins to go. Working on the last 10 legendaries before I go on to the rest. Current progress
Holy mother of kitten
I bow to your obvious supreme gold/item farming skills! I’m in the middle of making my third legendary. But then again I don’t hardcore farm. I often stand around in LA and kitten while eating or watching a movie. I’m just working on 100% on all my 80’s atm. I find it relaxing, and I often get keys for it too
If they were to implement that, there would need to be a toggle on/off button to avoid clutter.
ahem
and like dyes you would be able to toggle them off which would make it the same as now.
~~~
I agree with completely moving the wardrobe and all it’s content into the hero panel. If they implement the skins the same way they implemented the locked dyes, I would be one very happy woman.
“This is a common and regular thing in MMOs.” [implying that makes it okay]
They’re not implying that it makes it ok. This is the reality of MMOs whether one likes it or not. It’s has millions of copies sold. Of course many popular, generic names will be taken.
There was a thread just like this a little while back. I don’t get how people can’t understand this.
With that being said, I like the idea of being able to change your name again at a low level, but not under level 5. Someone proposed in another thread about being able to alter one’s appearance before leaving the intro instance. I think adding name-changing in there would be a good idea. Think Fallout 3 just before you escape the vault.
Now, keep in mind Angry Joe is still a celebrity of his own sort in the gaming world. So, this is people of a class speaking to another of the same sort of class, they rank above us. We’re anonymous to the Devs. These two people are at the peak of their individual origins: Director and a big-head in Youtube Gaming spotlight. It comes back to ‘worthiness’ and the sort of attitude Anet has usually directed at us. They’ll speak to a face, but not to the crowd.
And this is really the only thing that gets me angry about this entire game series.
On release I plan to be making 5 more toons. One revenant of each race. So yes, definitely.
You should only need to buy the LS pack once. That unlocks all the chapters for your entire account.
I’ve been suggesting this for a while now. Good to see people agree with it.
Even if the system stays as is, with accessories only able to be changed by using a kit, I would like to see a much wider range of colours for them. Too often I have to abandon the colour scheme I’m using on the character and make something else entirely because of the accessory colours.
It’s already easy to get the 30/50 with a decent hero setup (which is everything except titles). C space your way through the PvE content and most importantly, get read up on the missions before doing them so you know what you’re up against. Find a guild with people still in it if you need help with things.
Also make sure to check out the actual gw1 forums if you need a hand. You won’t find much help for gw1 in a gw2 forum.
It’s easy enough as it is. Please don’t ask Anet to give you something for nothing.
(edited by Miss Lana.5276)
would make the lvl 20 scrolls useful actually
i could create 10x a new char and get 200 skillpoints
You only get 8 skill points per level 20 scroll. They changed that with the NPE.
The most useful thing for them is key farming. That’s the only thing I use them for.
This has made me realize that it is important to have a second game that you enjoy. Eso is a good alternative that fits my needs nicely.
With all the bugs and changes that I dislike that I’ve been finding (especially when leveling alts), when I get annoyed it’s always back to eso. Gw2 was my absolute favourite mmo, but now it’s dwindling. What with the incessant pms from gold sellers and being restricted with customising my look at lower levels, it’s really starting to wear me thin.
With HotW on the definite horizon
I think you mean HoT (heart of thorns). HotW (honor of the waves) is the dungeon in Frostgorge.
I do like this idea. I’ve got over 200 SPs worth of consumable scrolls in my bank, as well as the level 20 scrolls which give 8 each. It’d give me a bit more bank space for sure.
I think GW2 music are made by Jeremy Soule.
OP means the players playing the instruments, not the soundtrack.
Sorry I can’t help you OP. Good luck with your gathering!
@perilous, if you take out your weapon when you’re attempting the jp, your character will stand on it’s hind legs, thus making it easier to see where your character will/should land.
They’d most likely give us updates of the outfits we got in gw1 if anything (as they did with Raiment of the Lich). That being said, I would love it if they did. Augur of Kormir for Revenant? Yes please!
I have the original 3 and don’t feel like it’d be worth it to get more. Especially not now I have almost 250 of the Wintersday tool boxes.
The snowflakes aren’t actually worth that much if your intent is to sell. I figure it’s better to get sprockets that sell well, unless you need to use the snowflakes, that is.
I have one full set of perma tools, plus two extra picks. I dislike the fact that I’ve got more than one full set, because I only use the Watchwork pick. As to whether it’s worth it or not is a decision left up to you.
Perhaps, if we’re to see more highlights (like on the new asura style), Anet will finally allow us to dye our “accessories” hair part with our personal dyes. Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestion-Accessory-Color/first#post4976619
As to the hairstyles, yeah some nice new ones were added, but a lot of people (including myself) are disappointed with the female charr styles.
I agree. The most recent lot of faces and hair have been disappointing. It’s almost like someone thought there was a distinct lack of dreads in the game and just went wild with the female charr designs. Possibly while under the influence of something.
The big thing that gets me is that most of the faces aren’t structurally different – at all. The only thing that differs is the paint or makeup put on each face, which I find extremely annoying. Just give us the option to have pre-set makeup/paint with any face and remove those with the same structure. This is a customisation option that I REALLY liked in Tera. Each face had different sets of make-up exclusive to the face that was chosen.
I do like a handful of the new hairstyles, but the female charr ones are absolutely horrid.
And unlocking one hairstyle to use again for one character is not at all the same as being able to use any hairstyle on any character at a whim. Permanent contract would still be very valuable.
Not really. After you’ve unlocked all the hairstyles on all your characters and can change them at a whim in, say, the hero panel, then the contract would be useless, as you’d be able to change it without the contract anyway.
For your RPing, instead of this suggested overhaul to hairstyling, I would suggest a system where your appearance in town differs to that in explorable areas, including a change to hair. That I would be fine with, as I used the system that gw1 had that was similar.
If they do bring us this feature, it needs to be the complete package.
Changing build imo needs to change: Traits, skills and armor-/weapon-/jewelset for it not to be a hassle.
Agreed. In Tera there’s a system where you can switch between glyph sets (ie trait sets) with two clicks. In eso there’s a mod (I can’t remember off the top of my head, but it’s by Wykkyd) that lets you save the armor+weapons+trinkets you have on as a set (and it can save multiple sets), then lets you swap back to them whenever you want.
These systems would have been great to have in place before I decided it was too much of a hassle to have two sets of gear and two different builds for my ele.
The “cookie cut-out” builds (aka the meta builds) are there for a reason. They work, and they work well. Usually it’s zerk, zerk and more zerk.
Up until yesterday I’ve been running a condi build on my main, purely because I dislike being told what to run where (unless it’s a friend giving me advice and not a random person screaming at me because I’m not running the meta), I was used to condi, and I didn’t have the dedication or gold to switch my gear over to zerk. With that being said, I’ve really enjoyed the zerk build that I’ve been testing out on an alt, and I plan on making it my main build.
Unless you’re going into WvW, sPvP or fractals, don’t worry about what people say you “should” be running. Run what you enjoy. Period. If someone upsets you or one of your kidlets, block them and move on.
I love exploring the map. In particular I love finding places or things to jump on top of and survey my surroundings. Kind of like a cat. The other thing I still really enjoy is jumping puzzles, even though I’ve finished them all, I’d still do them again if I was in the vicinity. The best part is making it to the top as a mesmer and then portaling those you’ve passed with your superior JP skills >:3
Yeah I agree with the idea, for the nth time.
This way I won’t have to try to memorise (and forget) the builds that I have for different things, or I’d be able to save that <profession> build from <person> that I’ve been wanting to try out for <period of time>. Builds that I’ve been wanting to experiment with, or builds that I’ve wanted to try out I often forget about.
There is a permenant hair style kit you can buy for 800 golds.
Nope. 2,180g. I only know because I bought mine for 1,600g and I keep tabs on the price, just out of curiosity.
This item is pretty much what you’re suggesting Vix. I dislike the idea of having them as “unlockables”. While it is expensive as is, I like the system that’s in place.
The only thing I’d add is a permanent total make-over kit to the BL chests.
Here’s what I’m doing with my 41 character slots:
The penguin sounds very cute, but it should be no more than 800 gems.
Even that price would probably put some people off.
It’d definitely put me off. There’s only been one mini (from memory) that I have bought off the gemstore.
I would say OP would be more inclined to buy said item because of the account name’s affiliation with penguins. If one thinks objectively they would see that 8k gems is WAY too much for said item. That’s $100 USD for a mini (if you pay cash of course), which is absolutely ludicrous.
I definitely agree. It’s very difficult to find a decent accessory colour. I usually have to stick with either matte, ebony or antique gold.
I suggest perhaps giving us the ability to dye our accessories like our armor. Any dye we have unlocked we can use on the accessory. Either that or put all the dyes in the panel for the accessory colour. Both of which I can see taking a fair bit of time to work on.
I heard there was a bug with one of the achievements for the LS in regards to getting the boots (?).
Check my signature. That’s all I have to say
Phew.. was starting to feel crazy for having 25.. xD
Well done. :PWhat do you mainly make them for though? Mine is for Recreating characters from other classic games/shows.
Dress-up and testing out different builds, but mainly dress-up >:3
Before I bought a bunch of bank spaces, I also used them to store my stuff in.
Guessing earning gems is a long term investment then? Doubt i’ll get the 800 for an extra slot any time soon without buying some.
Yeah the quickest way is just to buy them with cash, but it is possible to farm the gold and buy gems that way. It does take a bit of self-control and dedication though.
Check my signature. That’s all I have to say
