So long Treeface.
“…Kormir? I know not of whom you speak.”
Nope. There are way too many other ways to get gold easier and faster. If they increased the amount of gold everyone got from events, that would effectively reduce the value of the gold itself (the rule of thumb is this: more of one item = less the item itself is worth, especially to do with currencies). Then everything else would go up in price to accomodate this new value of gold, thus causing inflation.
I honestly don’t know if this is already in place or not, but maybe when a character gets their first mail there should be a little tutorial highlight on the bottom text so more players know that it is there.
I know there is a “help” section for mail, but maybe bringing up the help section on it and saying something along the lines of “Every message from an official Anet employee will look like X” and have a picture of what a genuine message from Anet looks like compared to what a mail looks like from another player.
Making new players actually read through it (or at least scroll through it) might – please note I say MIGHT – reduce complaints etc.
If anything is needed past things like that to alert someone to the fact that it is not a mail from an official Anet employee, I see it as the player’s own fault if they get hacked/scammed/whathaveyou.
As it is, yes I do agree that what is in place right now is not obvious enough, but short of a voice yelling at you that “HEY! THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ANET EMPLOYEE!!”, how far should it be taken? There will – unfortunately – always be the people who are stupid enough to fall for scams even when something as obvious as the exaggerated example I’ve put here are in place.
I don’t do crafting much anymore unless I really need gear, but definitely +1’d
Yes! +1
And for those who would think that it’s too cluttered, have the option to only show those that they have unlocked. I’m sure there’d be a few people out there who wouldn’t want it, but I do!
This is ridiculous, I’m not an mmo newbie, I understand how aggro and mechanics work. My gear is all lvl 63+ and I’m doing a lvl 70 personal story.
Sorry, but other mmos =/= gw2. Unless your level 63+ gear is rare or exotic so that it equals or exceeds basic white level 70 gear, you really should upgrade it. Also make sure to buy/make trinkets and a backpiece. That’s something I always forget to do. That being said, I’ve completed the personal story without any, but it really really does help. Also make sure to upgrade these to the next tier as you level along.
As others have said, for that particular mission always use the arrow cart. I didn’t even see the arrow cart the first time I did it, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you missed it. It’s very easy to miss.
This is a really good question.
I’d have to brush up on my New Krytan, I’m a little rusty. Thankfully I’d be able to understand them with the ability to change their spoken language.
I’d most likely be a human necromancer, then find out after a few years that I would have preferred being a heavy frontliner like I find out in every game -.-
My goal in life would be to deface every single shrine and statue dedicated to Kormir, as well as teach people the truth about her. That kitten stole my godhood.
I have 41 characters. One of each race/prof combination and one for key farming (all female. I can’t play male characters) – purely because I like leveling them and dressing them up (though a bonus of this is that I can park them all at a node and mine it on each one every day, or do the same thing with jumping puzzle chests. It took me only a month to gather up the amount of Blade Shards needed for all 3 of the backpacks).
Though I’m in a guild with some RP griefers and serious RP haters, I could seriously think about joining an RP guild if I had nothing to do.
Whenever an item comes out in the gemstore that I genuinely like, I buy it with cash, though I know if I saved the money that I’ve put into this game I would have over $1,000 – which for me is a kittenton.
When people ask “noob” questions in map or guild chat, I usually answer them, and then inform them of the wiki. Not so that they have the information they need, just so they don’t mindlessly spam questions anymore.
My first bf bought me the gw1 trio after letting me use his account for a trial on a character. He named her Lana, and the name stuck with me. It’s only been about a year since I learned what Archer was.
Anytime someone asks me for a nickname irl I tell them to call me Lana, and I don’t care about their confused response. I love my real name and I hate any nicks given instead.
I love jps and would happily log on to someone else’s account purely to do the jps for them if it wasn’t a bannable offence.
I always vote skyhammer.

I honestly don’t think that the Rit will make an appearance again. What they seem to have done is integrate it into other professions (Guardian with summoning weps and Revenant with “channeling heroes”).
Words can’t describe this
That first one! I love it!
Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere we go
Wow that 4th one looks eerily like an ex >.>
My problem with Marjory, is the voice acting, and I use the word ‘acting’, in very broad terms. The voice actor is horrible. Monotone, no emotions in the voice. I guess it was okay as a film noir shtick, in a minor role, that she had at first. But now that she has a larger, and longer term role, that voice is very bad and annoying.
I laughed when Belinda died. I genuinely had a good laugh. All because Marjory couldn’t bring herself to actually have emotion of some sort. The interaction between Marjory and Kasmeer in that cutscene sounded so very forced to me.
I do agree with the OP on most of these things, but I did feel for Tybalt. Taimi is the only character in this new bunch that I actually like. I’ve had next to no interactions with Canach so I have no idea what he’s like personally (I’ve read and heard a bit about him but I haven’t seen it firsthand).
What got me more than anything is that seemingly out of nowhere we – the player character – are put in charge of something, this time without having it ripped from under our noses by someone less worthy. Except this time it doesn’t feel like I’ve accomplished anything apart from gathering a group of annoying, emotionless people partly comprised of a forced lesbian teenage romance and a thug who has mummy issues.
Thinking about it, Rox really is “auntie Rox”. Thanks OP xD
I’m actually heading back to eso as soon as it finishes downloading. I’ve had an account basically since release and got bored of it when I hit v1, so I cancelled my sub. I’m interested to see the changes made since release, explore areas I haven’t been in and perhaps reminisce a little too.
Heck, I’ve even been playing Tera while waiting on eso because of how little there is for me to do in gw2. Do I miss aspects of it? Of course! But one-shotting everything at lower levels, new tiers of better gear and new level caps are things I can deal with when other games actually give me content that I haven’t faced before.
The only thing that’s remotely keeping me in gw2 is my guild. I’m tired of it all being fashion wars once you hit 80. I’ll come back for HoT no doubt, but until then if I’m in-game I’ll only be there to chat at guildies.
sigh as frustrated as I get at it, yes it’s one of my favourite mmos, and everything else I play will be compared to it in some way. But once I’ve exhausted all the content on multiple characters, it begins to feel like a chore.
Play power, forget condi, wipe whole enemy team with Lich Form #1.
Lich Form? More like Moa Magnet!
The best class is the one you like playing.
More of this as well.
If this is just a popularity thing, then I’d be happy to post my favourites. If it’s more like OMGBESTDPSZERKORGTFO then I’ll have to pass.
I’m a little bothered by it myself. I used to roll a new toon once in a while just to get the black lion chest key from the level 10 personal story quest. I could usually manage the level 10 steps at about level 5, saving me time. Now I actually have to level to 10 to do it.
I believe this gave them a reason to redo the leveling system. What with this being the most popular key farm and all.
And yeah, level 5 was what I reached when I got the key. Seems about the previous average.
I understand the sentiment, but I majorly disagree with this idea. There are so many other things that time could be spent on that the majority of the gw2 player base would use.
It’s not that they’re against lefties, it’s just that it’s most likely easier to have every character in the same setup – that and they probably didn’t think that it would ever be requested/used.
Should of been a skin reward from the spoon collection. :P.
You jest, but I seriously like this idea.
I’m happy to see we have one new face for each race and gender.
Seriously. Look at most of them. It’s one face with different colouring/makeup.
Just give us the option to have different makeup styles already and be done with it. I’d pay for that.
I’d prefer champagne for my real friends, and real pain for my sham friends ;D
Definitely reset for me. Didn’t even realise it until I saw this thread and played with the settings again.
Never bought an Outfit, and I never will. I don’t care how nice they look, I don’t want to look just like everyone else.
I agree with this. I thought half of the reason gw2 toons are so customisable were to make them look individual. I and a few of my guildies are disappointed that we can’t mix and match outfit pieces anymore, or dye the different pieces separately.
@OP sarcasm won’t get you far with Anet.
I haven’t had any issues with the camera itself, nor any queasiness. The biggest issue I have is that after I go into first-person mode and zoom back out, my character is invisible until I map or relog.
Definitely. I voiced this thought in another thread but had completely forgotten about it.
I say give us the option to use our armor dyes on our hairpieces somehow. Have it unlocked for your armor = have it unlocked for your hairpiece.
a slot in hero’s panel where to put stack of food and oils so when the food ends it will automaticaly eat a new portion.
minis to pick-up loot and bring it to you
oprion to bye multipple items from vendors by setting a number
option to use stakcs of consumables (luck) RMC use all would be great
more guild ranks and slots for people
guild aliance and aliance chat that only ppl whit permitions can type
option to mute some one from Guild chat
These ideas I do like, though I understand if people would be opposed to the mini looters. I liked having them in tera. Having permission to talk in alliance chat? I think that’s a little over the top.
option to sell multiple items on TP on mach lowest seller or sell directly
a guild comander tag – seen only by members of your guild
These are already available options.
Please make Roofs tranperant in dungeons it is very hard beeng a max norn in CM
The new camera changes should be able to fix that.
Guild maps – a player can open a copy of a map and can invite his guild/friends in that map and nobody else can random join in it
Sounds like what you’re after here is a fully instanced game. ie gw1.
~~~
Personally I would like to see some of the older stuff come back, but it won’t be a big problem if it doesn’t.
I just want Anise’s outfit. I’ve wanted it since release and personally, I prefer the datamined outfit to what Anise is actually wearing.
Permanent Total Makeover Kit. kthx <3
Actually, I used to live here, and for me “armour” really does have two “u’s.”
I have to consciously remove the second “u” in all sorts of words. (One of the founders of ArenaNet gently told me we needed to go with “armor” back when I first started writing website content.)
Heh that explains why the wikis hated me when I was looking up different armour sets!
Necroing this thread. Please devs, this needs to be fixed. I loved Sanctum Sprint up until recent. The Lightning Pull’s skill has degraded to such an extent that I can’t even finish a race if there’s a section that I need to use it. Lots of other people in the map I was in were raging about it as well. Overshooting and undershooting the target is a very regular thing.
My favourite three necros. Currently working on Twilight for my main (human). Gonna be amazing!
I’m only necroing this thread because I am also having the exact same issue. It’s not just been in certain maps though, it’s been everywhere. The icon even flashes up on my minimap. I’ve gone crazy in Obsidian Sanctum because I was trying to find this mythical node!
I’ve been having a look through the collections tabs. Under the black lion collections I have the spear under “dreamthistle” unlocked. I thought it was a little odd at first but paid no attention to it.
So, being utterly curious, I wonder if I had bought this item by mistake and go to my wardrobe. The skin itself isn’t unlocked in the wardrobe, yet I have the skin for my achievs?
I know some people will say “don’t complain and take it as a gift”, but this is something that will seriously irk me.
Just thought I’d update this thread for anyone curious. My download folder is just shy of 22GB. Depending on your download speed (which you can check at http://www.speedtest.net/ ), it may take a few hours to possibly a few days (that bad Aussie interwebs we have >.< )
Hope this helps
I don’t know about armor dyes matching hair, but I’m really wanting more variety in the accessory colours. Even with the self-style hair kits you only get those 21 starter colours. Better yet, make them dyeable with the armor.
Recently I had to contact support, as I had deleted a character that had a copper-fed salvage-o-matic on it.
I’ve tested this on a few other salvage kits, and what happened was that I right-clicked “use” on the kit, and after I had salvaged what I needed to, the kit transferred from the bank into my inventory unknowingly.
I can see a few other people having this happen to them in the future. All I’m suggesting is that the kit doesn’t transfer to the inventory after use (but of course still be available to move to the inventory when needed).
If you type /age it will tell you how many days you’ve had the character. It’s not as good as getting a date but you can do some math to figure it out.
It only tells you the days up til the first month. After that it’s “<x> months”. Checked this on my first toon, says 11 months, no days, no hours, no anything.
I agree that the “birth” date should be viewable. As I have 32 toons (yes, I know, I know) it’d help me to know when to check on an alt.
I think it’s a little ridiculous that there are almost 1 million likes on facebook and barely 2500k followers on twitter, yet you guys never post on facebook about down times (and are constantly updating twitter about it).
Now I personally never use my twitter, and I know that at least 10 of my friends (that play gw2 also) don’t either, so there has to be more of us out there. I’ve posted this on the facebook page numerous times with no response (as is expected), but I’m not asking something ridiculous. All I’m asking is that facebook be kept up to date with possible down-times (seeing as the numbers are far greater, it only makes sense, right??).
Are you on the same server as the rest of the guild that are trying to view it? Influence is per server, so if you are on Tarnished Coast and someone is trying to view influence you add, and they are on Sea of Sorrows, they will not be able to see it.
No news if this will get fixed/changed? (i dont know if its a bug or just a bad animation…)
It looks like the wings movement is backwards or opposite of what it should be
This is exactly my thoughts on it when examining it on the toon I use it on.
I mean, I can handle them as they are, it’s just a little annoying that they seem to want to push my character into the ground rather than pull her up (as wings are supposed to, right?)
In any case, I would prefer this to be changed to either them not moving at all (or having them respond to movement, like hair, ribbons, etc), or having them flap the other way to what they are right now.
It just seems so wrong
Just had the rubberbanding experience with a ranger’s #4 skill on the longbow too. Definitely not just class-related. I assume it’s all knockbacks in general.
Yeah I can recover from it, but thought that it best be reported. It’s more of a hassle than a real pain. The skill sometimes not delivering what it’s meant to and all >.>
About every 1 out of 10 mobs that I use Banish on (knockback), the mob does get knocked back, but then it rubberbands back to the spot where I used the skill at.
This has happened on more than one toon, in more than one area, and it isn’t my connection to the internet that is the problem. It seems to be random, and doesn’t happen all the time.
Guild: King Thorn Krewe [MAD]
Server: Sanctum of Rall
When I double-clicked to put a few dyes in my personal guild bank, they went AWOL. I dragged my items into the guild bank window, and they appeared, but there was a slight delay in it.
My humps. My humps. My lovely lady lumps.
Probably won’t be singing that, but yes, there will be weekly concerts. Most likely to be held on Fridays at 8 or 9pm +8 GMT (5 or 6am PST | 8 or 9am EDT).
I’m looking forward to entertaining you all! ^.^
I submitted a ticket before the patch and received 350 gems back for the kit I used. Saved it until the patch went up and used it recently. My glow now works with no problems at all.
Thanks guys!
The only suggestion I have is instead of making the asura gates a must if you want to travel from one city to another, make the waypoints free, but only between cities. This cuts out the loading times of LA, then running to the asura gate that has your destination on the other side.
It’d also be extremely helpful for those who live in hotter climates, or their computer runs warm, their case doesn’t breathe well, etc. to really cut down on those loading screens!
Totally agree. I was disappointed with it as well. For those who like to show off it’s good, but also having the option there to turn them off when needed as well.
Maybe have them included to show or hide in the “Always show player names” option?
Makeover kits??? squee
I am SO READY for Halloween!!! Only 5 days!! All these teasers are making me even more excited!!
I think that costumes similar to the ones we had in gw1 is a good idea (being able to be put over the armor), BUT I do like the fact that you can switch to your town clothes when not in combat. I actually prefer this way of costume usage.
Although I do wish we could craft different town clothing or buy it from an NPC. I’m a little disappointed in that respect.
Has anyone been able to get up near the lodge in Hoelbrak that is on the mountain near Lake Mourn? I’ve been running around looking for any obvious abuse of scenery to make some sort of jumping puzzle, but I can’t find anything.
Just wondering if it is actually able to get up there and slide on that amazing-looking slide!
