Getting sick of the repetition of the voices (and the monotony of some cough Trahearne cough) was what spurred me on to change the spoken language to German. I hadn’t practiced speaking/listening to it in ages, and it’s actually taught me a few more phrases and words.

They said they’d be changing the precursor skins to look “more like their legendary counterparts” in some blog post. Keep an eye out.

I think that – in addition to invisible (if they decide to fix it) – there should also be added a “do not disturb” function like we had in gw1 (honestly I have no idea why they didn’t bring that over. Not making that an option was a stupid idea imo).

I speak for myself when I say that the reason behind my negativity is the “communication” policy. I wouldn’t care so much about lack of content if the devs actually spoke to us about minor topics/updates/what’s being worked on and such.

This is the major contributing reason as to why I turned off all the music in-game. The start/stopping of the music gives me a headache. If it’s constant I don’t mind it, but it has to be constant, not this stutter in the background.

I didn’t realise there was a change til I hopped on my main for some PvP.

I miss the spinning around on the asura, though it did look odd while they were moving.

I’d get excited about the expac, if I had any new info to actually get excited about. There’s only so many times I can watch the Reaper video and be excited. Now I’m bored by it.

It’s not just a content drought, it’s an information and communication drought too.

A lot, and by a lot, I mean mad money, in the hundreds if not well over a thousand. To gibe you an idea, when ANet did the buy X Gems and get the green Quagan back and Mr Sparkles, I spend £400 that month alone. But I’ve calmed down alot. This year I’ve spent £20 on gems. Just nothing I really want in the store. Outfits don’t interest me, I have my gathering tools, I’m not paying 800 gems for the only armor skin I like on the store. Almost everything else is junk. (i like make over kits will probably buy one when HoT launches to do over my rev.) other than toon slots and bank tabs, the rest is not worth buy, as far as I’m concerned. And after the year 1 Halloween snafu with the BLK’s and the Halloween skin weapons I’ll never buy them again.

I hate admitting to myself the amount of dosh I’ve spent on this game, but it’s definitely into the thousands. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at $5,000 AUD or more. I would, however, be ashamed. All that money and nothing to do. I’ve definitely spent my last dollar on it though – until HoT.

I paid probably $100 AUD towards getting my perma hair style kit (I use it plenty to justify that spend though), but the rest was farmed.

I agree with you here. I’ve got everything I really like (and then some), I’ve bought the infinite tools for convenience, I’ve got the character slots I want (for now), and everything else I see I just think “I could get that as junk from the Black Lion Chest….why bother?”, though it is a little annoying when I get a hair style kit. Makeover kits I hoard.

To be honest I hated P2P games – probably because when I started gaming I had next to no money to spend on entertainment so I had to be wise with my choices – but now I prefer that model to the in-game stores. I’d be spending much less in a P2P game without a store than in a game without the monthly sub, but with the store.

I’ve noticed this as well. I had thought that it was the costume dyes that were mysteriously commandeering the armor dyes, but that was discarded after trying it on an alt without an outfit on, or dyes in the slots.

I had been meaning to test what specific dye slot it was – if any particular one at all.

I do, however, have an inkling that it’s the dye that one has selected after previewing and applying. As in, the one that is still selected as one hits “apply changes”.

I used to suck at jumping, like many people. But I have now done all the JPs and while I am not JP expert I can now do most jumps fine. It’s called practice, stick at it and you will get better. Give in and the problem is really mainly yours.

If they are… omg, Champ Cave Troll in AC. That guy needs… I don’t want to say nerfed. But… a different rotation. The KD on him is stupid (for lack of eloquence). Just plain stupid.

PvP = Player versus Player
WvW = World versus World
PvE = Player versus Environment

So yes, dungeons are PvE. This is pretty standard across all mmos.

Speaking as someone who took typing allllll they way back in high school and even middle school, I’d recommend looking into purchasing a Razer Naga.

I have my 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys to bound to movement and my spells and abilities bound to Q through T and A through F keys, weapon switch bound to Shift and of course, jump to my spacebar.

For someone who is older (and remembers how to type ), that may fit the bill just right!

This could definitely help. I have a razer naga MMO which has 12 buttons on the side of my thumb, and another 2 buttons on top next to the left mouse button. I honestly can’t remember how I managed to play MMOS without it.

OP, sorry to hear about that, but yes, you can do quite a bit of what little endgame content there is available. Dungeons don’t require jumping (most of the time), and like a few here have mentioned, SW farming could be something to look into. It’s very repetitive, but rewarding (I actually farmed it for a few weeks after it came out, now I can’t stand to go back there unless I really really really need Obsidian Shards, and even then I hate going back).

If it’s the camera view itself that is the cause of your issues, you could try messing around with the settings til you find settings that don’t cause you discomfort.

Fun is completely subjective. Play them all and decide for yourself.

Yup. Almost exactly the same story here.

I think it’s the same story in most cases (not for those specific specs, but for more info on HoT and upcoming changes).

As for me the only reason I still play is because there are a few skins I want to grind out. Having one of each prof (and then some) to 80, almost 4 world completions, dungeon master, pvped and wvwed to my heart’s content I have nothing left to do but either grind skins or wait for new info on HoT.

Not trying to inflate my ekitten here, just saying that I have done pretty much all that I have available on-hand and I’ve nothing left but skins. I (and I know many others) would appreciate much more info on what is to come, so we can actually get hyped. I can’t get hyped on lack of communication and information.

I doubt that you’d get in trouble because you’re not selling anything. You’re offering a service for free.

I have every node available for my home instance, and I like taking in a full party when I do my daily gathering. I just post four or five times in the map chat that I’m hosting my home instance. I only ever take one party through each day, but I don’t have the patience to wait around for a full party sometimes.

If they don’t like gw2 they don’t like gw2. You can’t force something upon them that they don’t like, and if you do you could appear like an kitten. Try finding a guild and/or make new friends who are already in-game.

I would also like this as an option. Every other game I play has this sort of style camera. It’s really quite odd to me that gw2 is the only one without this.

They’re called Legendaries for a reason. Legendary amounts of time, money or both are needed to craft one (sometimes irl cash if one gets desperate and has some to throw around).

If they were “common” skins you’d have them unlocked by now. Hell, just look up the stats for precursor drops, then check the prices for them on the tp (excluding the underwater ones for many, many a reason).

If you think doing something one enjoys for a long period of time is unhealthy then I sure hope you don’t do anything you enjoy. It might become a disorder, you know. (But seriously. Check your tone in forums. You have come across as a massive kitten).

I live in a village ~15m drive outside of the nearest town. If I go into town I stay in town until hubby has finished work – sometimes he has soccer afterwards too, which gets me home at about 7-8pm.

I’d been eyeing these off since they’d been datamined and was so keen to buy them. The day that they came out was a day that I had to be in town all day and got back just as the sale was ending. Some guildies however knew about my circumstances and gifted them to me during the time that I was away.

No, before he was a zerged, easy-to-kill mess that died as quickly as the Fire Elemental. Now he is very decent and has a huge chance of failure. The fight has phases, different mechanics, group splitting, siege weapons, tons of trash mobs, and lasts roughly 15-30 minutes easy. …well, maybe it’s more like 10. Hmm, ..is it that long? I don’t know. But it is a very fun fight now compared to what it was originally.

And Tri-worm and Vine Wrath are both as complex and challenging. Each having high failure rates and requiring tons of cooperation. It’s just the rest of the world bosses are ..generic now?

@Hulkmaster this is why I said before. If you think it’s just “zerg the boss” now you should have seen it before. Hence the “before” part.

I just want to be able to get rid of all the yucky UI that’s cluttering my screen 90% of the time. Disabling the UI is ok, but I want to 1 – still be able to see my skills and minimap, and 2 – want to be able to see chat.

I am over the moon that this is getting fixed. When I decided to give my human engy a makeover I made her all pink and girly-like (I had to have one character that was girly-girlish. The rest are quite tame compared to that one), but the build I use has her mainly wielding nades. When she whips out that hobosack, her head – yes that’s right people – her head clips through the board at the top of the backpack, so I see this tiny bit of pink popping out.

Glad I’ll be able to see the pink quaggan soon instead!

You don’t have to do every single hero challenge on each of your char to unlock everything. You need only 65 of them, in addition to getting your character to 80.

Jon said in the video showing the traits that to unlock all the base skills, you would only need to do 65 of the ~220 skill challenges in the world. He explicitly said not including elites.

The hardest part – by far – will be the names. I have the human one already, as that’s what I name my keyfarming character, but the rest will take some time.

Most of the people working on content are most likely working on the expansion.

The best thing you can do is set a goal for yourself and work to meet it.

For instance I’ve done map completion on 3 or 4 characters (I can’t exactly remember), got the “Dungeon Master” achievement, finished the personal story more times than I’d like to admit and I have been finding it hard to find something new to do. The thing I’ve done is set myself a goal – I’m working towards getting all the legendaries as well as all the mystic forge weapons, plus the karma skins. After I’m done with that I’ll work on getting the rest of the skins I’m missing. It’ll take a while, and it’s a long-term goal, but it’s given me something to aim for.

I think the major thing to realise is that after a certain point in the game, it’s purely Fashion Wars 2.

Simple thing is don’t like them, don’t do them. You don’t have to do them to get world completion. You don’t even have to discover all areas to do world completion. The only thing you’ll be missing out on – as stated above – is the account points.

Map completion consists only of points of interest, waypoints, vistas, skill points and hearts. Discovering areas is for a different set of achievements – called “explorer”.

If you do want them completed you can always ask someone to help you. I take my mes and just port people unless they really want to do it themselves and just need to know where to go.
