[Buka] Mojo Monkey Man
Kodash
(edited by Moon.6371)
Please don`t feel offended, Sevenn, actually I really like how you try to explain your view of the situation.
However, to me personally all the beautiful stuff that makes small scale (and gw2) appealing to me gets lost in groups of more then…say… 10 mans.
No clutch moves possible rolling with such numbers (25 man), no focus target, no heal or channeling interrupts, no split second decision making to gain slight advantages infight, no real individual impact on the outcome of the fight, no real flow of information infight (25 people giving information about their skillusage etc. would end in utter chaos) – it is all aoe fest and feels more like PvE raiding in other games than actual PvP.
Watching top level GvG`s of zerging guilds just confirms that to me, never ever focus target, mark the leader; walk, where he walks and spam ae dps and ae cc. I just cannot pull any enjoyment out of it and I guess many small scalers feel the same way. Why would I give up on what I love most in this game and do something that is just not fun for me?
Best regards

We were used to meet each friday late afternoon (6-8 PM) before reset on a suitable borderland behind windmill during the matchup with Elona and Jade Sea. It became quite popular, the number of participants ranged between 15 and 30 duelers from all three servers.
We “advertized” it one day prior via /m to inform anyone interested when and where to meet. I had some of the most enjoyable wvw-moments during these dueling-events and I certainly learned a lot.
Your efforts are appreciated, Deniara.
Best regards
TP (Deso) was quite impressive (to be expected), when they did some wvw last week. Here`s hope they had enough fun to show up again!
Best regards
I dare saying [GD] from Elona is one of the best coordinated zerging guilds I`ve seen in action. Easily matching the more well known ones, such as RG and the likes.
Best regards
Yeah! Good idea, I`d like that. But keep the information as rough as possible, please (I`m positive you would`ve anyway). You do not want to sabotage their well planned undercover missions…
Best regards
Thanks for your input, Darkman, much appreciated. No sarcasm here. I do hope as well that there`ll be more to groups to fight for us small scalers.
Good luck & have fun!
Why was it possible with the most zergy servers known in gw2, then? Jade Sea, Elona, Baruch Bay… all of these servers offer a broad range of decent 5-10 mans roaming the maps, sneaking, supporting, flanking, whatever…
To me personally small scale is the only place were individual player skills really shine. I was just expecting so much more of it in this matchup, because I remembered you guys as very fight and skill focused players.
Best regards
Hey Wolfheart,
I remember you as one of these “voices of reason” I was talking about. Please accept my apologies for letting you sane guys on SFR down, I dare to say it is not happening too often as I am quite a humble person usually. I was trying not to be insulting, but to throw my weight against the (in my personal opinion) posts that make this thread a terrible place.
However, more small scale, please, please, please! And no, 20-30 man guild grps is neither small scale nor roaming grps… it is zerging!
Best regards
I don`t know, anyone who bothers reading my post history can doublecheck that I am almost always advocating for respect, sportmanship and modesty in any matchup thread.
Anyone who bothers checking the old match up threads of SFR can see how disgusting any thread gets where some of your self-proclaimed SFR forum representatives brag about how great they are and how utterly terrible the opponent…
Same issue here, same guys bragging, it gets old and is sad to read. I am just missing the voices of reason, the grown ups and was hoping you guys would agree that we can do better than that.
Lost cause, I get it now…
SFR has great players, mostly solo roamers, I had lots of friendly and respectful encounters ingame, here`s hope that attitude will carry over to your commanders and forum warriors sometime.
Best regards

Yeah, Tshik, you`re totally outmanned in this matchup… Do you guys really believe your own fairytales?
Every day and night off prime time you gather the largest number possible, jump borderlands and play karmatrain. During primetime you can at least provide 4 independent 30+ man mercenary guild blobs (“press 1 til you die” blob is “press 1 til you die blob” blob, i dont care about the mixture of tags) + pugs. There just is NO other server on EU that can field such numbers, except Vizunah.
And please dont bother telling me about Kodash blobbing, Kodash IS blobbing! I know it, I don`t like it, but at least I have the decency to admit it while you guys are playing the zerggame, but act as if you would be a server full of wannabe elite players or something.
Somehow I wish Jade Sea would come back, absolute no difference in skill or playstyle to SFR but they at least had the guts to admit what they`re doing.
Best regards
How in hell do you think SFR would be evenly matched with Piken and Riverside, Wemil? You were a T2 server before ECL, OSC, KoA and whatever pushed your wvw poplulation by more than 100 dedicated wvw players…
The only servers that fit your coverage at the moment are Vizunah and Elona. Are you guys still living in your “always outmanned” dreamworld? Because I can tell you, the huge melting pot SFR is trumps every other server coverage wise.
You guys refused to play the proper tier, T1, dominate T2 right now, and yet you would instead prefer to dominate T3-T4 servers like Piken and Riverside, for real? I mean, seriously?
Best regards
Do you guys on EB also have the problem of not being able to place any siege, not even rams?
Best regards
I actually really like this idea. It would also encourage the feeling of responsibility for the guilds territories, which is almost nonexistant at the moment.
It is quite unfortunate that many of these smaller guilds who enjoyed fortifying and guarding one tower with everything they have already gave up on their favorite playstyle or left the game completely because it is just not rewarded/wanted.
Best regards

These guys in the video chasing the thief(es) behaved like they are completely new to the game, at least its pvp part. Can`t believe there are still so many weak players spitting nonsense to cover up the inability to improve their play…
A skilled thief or mesmer would`ve taken you guys in the video out easily, not just rotating stealthskills with D/P + 30 SA traited and pray some fools try to chase him, while he is effectively doing… nothing. If it was two thiefes, shame on them for the missed lootbags they couldve gathered by just engaging you guys properly…
And yeah, thiefs hide in keeps to destroy siegeweapons… all the time, because it is so fun and challenging. /Sarcasm off
Best regards

That`s what I expected… Open field fighting qualities par excellence! Well played, mate…

@ Junkpile:
Still no signature, just bigmouthing, no backup… so sad. There was hope, you would show some balls, but hey, fighting forum wars is much more convenient, right?
Best Regards
Hey Junkpile,
Perhaps it is because you`re too busy trying to be smart on the forums? You mind adding your guild tag to the signature, so skilled smallscalers can find out whether your mouth is backed up by talent?
Besides Hebril its just you who`s talking big in every SFR thread I visit, but I haven`t read a single comment praising your skills that was not from yourself, pretty sad in my opinion…
Best Regards
(edited by Moon.6371)
Hey Hebril,
SFR is in no way, shape or form different in matters of zerging than Deso or even Jade Sea. Sorry to break your illusions, but it is pathetic how you continiuosly try to convince yourselve and others it would be any different.
The way you`re presenting yourself (and your server) here is quite immature, I really hope that`s not the general SFR attitude, because from what I was able to observe ingame, there`s absolutely no reason to feel entitled to anything.
I don`t want to belittle anyone (my server is zerging, too), but the constant inappropriate bigmouthing is getting old…
By the way, where`s all the skilled smallscalers I was looking forward to meet in this matchup? I remember having a blast vs JUDGE, JUG and others months ago, but was not able to find a single decent 5-10 man team so far… where are you, guys? Here`s hope it was just bad timing on my side.
Edit: Thanks for the info, Lelith!
Best regards

Thank you Jade Sea for the action during the past weeks/months. I always enjoyed fighting your smaller scale guilds, SR in particular, fare well in T1!
Have fun, good luck and best regards!
I do appreciate the time spent, wording your analysis, Deniara. However, in my honest opinion, it is only partially correct. Thieves have there counters, it is quite rarely other glascannon-setups tho. Ask any decent bunker-ranger, bunker-ele or phantasm mesmer what they do to the current thief builds. Even a well traited engineer, guard (burn, thief, burn) or necro should demolish any thief trying to engage. These are the real counters!
Apart from that, duels thief vs thief are by far the most challenging (and fun) fights one can have, in comparison to other duel setups not only highly apm intensive but counter based with blinds, dazes and stealth. A chance to let fast players really shine, which is too rare already in this game.
If your Kungfu sucks, work on the flaws in your play and dont cry for help from developers. Theres no place for such an attitude in pvp.
Best Regards

Big shoutout to the Jade Sea players on SFR BL yesterday evening/night. It felt like playing another server, at least three brave 5-10 man guild groups from JS roaming across the map, so great. As far as I remember it was [SR], [Oo] and [Cara] roaming with [PHX] leading the pugs.
Great job, guys. Really enjoyed the fights. Hope you had as much fun as we had.
Best Regards
I was stating facts as well, the part about substandard quality of certain guilds on your server in particular. You see what I did there?
How about writing something about your positive experiences in this matchup? How about acting like a grown up? I recommend taking advice from Wothan about “difference in perception”…
Best Regards
Why is it that the very skillful guilds on Jade Sea act all humble and mannered, while the more average or plain bad ones tend to rely on bragging and insulting others? The only remarkable acts I remember your guild for, Jomg, is jumping corpses and similar immature behaviour…
Some kind of inferiority complex, maybe?
Best Regards
Cheers to BSF for the fun fights so far on Jade GL this morning, very nice.
Best Regards
This is simple and awesome at the same time! Do it, Anet!
Best Regards
Yeah, I see, it`s not just coming from your side. But we should try making this thread a better place, right?
I still have lots of fun playing you guys (JS & Elona). Blobbing seems a bit overboard in our tier, but from time to time there`s some very good smaller scale action to find.
Best Regards
Wow, I am quite shocked about the way people talk to each other in this thread. Finally, after fighting so many weeks in the same tier, there`s a thread to praise each others skills and passion, but instead people just use it to vent their frustation…
I`m a big fan of Wothan from Jade Sea, who is always visiting the matchup threads, even the german ones, to show sportmanship. But it seems the immature youngsters took over since the french holidays began… sadly.
However, big thanks to PHX and SR from Jade Sea for all the action during the past weeks, I always enjoy meeting you guys on the field.
Best Regards
@ Falkynn
Please tell me the borderland you and your guild are playing on. I`d like to see how your forum warrior skills transfer ingame. Would you mind adding your guild tag to the signature as well so we can identify you and your great achievements for Jade Sea?
(edited by Moon.6371)
@ Victory:
You would have done better reading the rest of Scryars text with the same interest like u did with his signature.
I`ve got to fully support Scryar on his opinion. First, the guy knows what he`s talking about, second, I made similar experiences. After mass duelling confusion builds (mainly mesmers) in wvw and tpvp, I feel I have a fair chance in tpvp by playing smart. But duelling really skilled confusion hybrid mesmers in wvw is a huge pain.
The timing window to engage properly without eating too much damage is extremely small as confusion is reapplied very quickly and will punish every minor overextension heavily. You will have to engage, as such built mesmers are playing very passively.
While 1vs1 should of course not be the only balance indicator, it gives a good hint at how timing windows and dmg output work. In case of confusion it scales absurdely well the more players participate in the battle, so its not only superstrong at 1vs1.
Best Regards
Congrats Mogwow, just realized you hit Nr. 4 EU Tpvp-Leaderboards. Well played!
Best Regards
Thank you, SaruTen.
P.S.: Mission complete, they contacted me.

I don`t know, since I`ve witnessed Coarr and Crummush (my guilds rangers) take 1v2s and 1v3s quite convincingly on a regular basis, I came to the conclusion that there is just not many good rangers around. The class itself is brutally strong (but has not so many viable builds to offer).
Best Regards
Hey Amadeus,
you indirectly answered my question on this very page with your clip, whether PRD is still active, nice timing, thanks.
Mogwow`s necro twink skills are awesome as well. But your intro might be a little exaggerated, Mogwow told me 2 months ago, they just started doing tourneys out of being bored of WvsW-zergs and lack of roaming opponents. They have been doing WvsW only, before, as far as I remember what they told me.
Anyways, nice fights, I enjoyed the vid. Smallscale is sooo beautiful, wish this game would encourage such play much more!
Best Regards
(edited by Moon.6371)
Well, if you happen to find them, hit`em hard, then tell them: “With best regards from Buka”. I`m pretty sure they remember us, we had plenty of fun together, few months ago. Very nice, but competitive guys.
Thanks in advance, Zumy, appreciated.
Best Regards
Thanks a lot, Zumy. They used to field around five guys, really strong players. I`ve been most impressed by their necro, who is the twink of one of their thieves / elementalists.
However, cheers to PRD, hope we`ll meet again.
Best Regards
Is PRD still active and playing on Augury Rock? As far as I remember they transferred to AR from Arborstone when AS was falling apart. These guys are some of the best Smallscale PvPers I`ve met in GW2. I`d really appreciate if somebody could gimme feedback on this.
Be aware of their afro asuras…
Best Regards
Hi,
just dropping in to say: Thank you, Zumy! Thank you for expressing exactly my thoughts on zerging and relevant issues throughout many threads on this forum!
Best regards
@ Krakah
Then please tell me how and why my computer became suddenly poorly maintained/low spec`d the moment the patch hit? My playing experience (dis- and reappearing of allies, enemies and npcs even in small scale fights, lower frames on average, queuing) radically changed exactly since the patch went live.
Your ignorance is completely out of place, sorry.
Best regards
Pretty nice fights today.
I was pleasantly suprised by [VcY], some high level individual players, which is quite rare for bigger scale guilds, in my honest opinion, even in case of the more elite ones.
You also got a S/D thief on board that knows how to play, good show overall. Stylewise I gotta give you some minus points, far too many huge Norns…
Best Regards
Dear developers,
since you implemented the last patch, the game became unplayable for me. Not only are even small groups of allies and enemies disappearing and reappearing randomly but the performance went overall so low, that I am just not able to play anymore (below 10 frames during heavy encounters, lowest settings).
The fun part is, before yesterday, I never fell below 20 frames at medium settings, even during massive fights in stonemist castle. The situation mirrors my experience during your december trial and there is not a single person in my guild I asked that feels the culling / performance situation improved at all. Their feedback is either “nothing changed” (high end pc) or “went worse” (low-medium end).
Please consider to readjust the culling method back to its old standard or to implement culling changes that have been properly tested and benefit everybody. As it is right now your patch absolutely destroyed my playing experience.
Best regards,
Considering the fact that i (and many others) suffer since release from the bug that excludes me from receiving any world bonuses (minus 2-15% stats and gathering, increasing the later the week goes), the 2% is just not an major issue, in my personal opinion.
Hey,
I just received a pm I´d like to forward to you guys via copy/paste:
“I’m sorry that you are still affected by this issue. While I don’t directly work on the issue, it is something that I escalated to our group that works on WvW. This issue is among the team’s other high priority issues to resolve, there is not an estimated time on fix yet.”
by Tyler Bearce
Thank you for the update, Tyler.
Hello again,
Seven days passed since my post asking for support, help and/or communication concerning this huge bug, not to mention the month that passed since one of your employees replied to the concerned customers.
In every other industry I would call such behaviour highly incompetent. You count on the community trusting you to deliver a polished and finished product. Thats not what I am playing right now.
Minor bugs here and there, I can live with that. But being disadvantaged since headstart, you know about it and dont even bother to, at least, communicate with us about the issue. That`s a situation that is just not acceptable.
Arenanet customer support/relations please do your job!
Hello,
I am playing this game since pre-release and spent the vast majority of my playing time in WvsW. Just now I accidentially found this thread and realized I never had any boni displayed.
I did not leave my homeserver Kodash (DE) ever.
At the moment I am quite shocked, because if not displayed means I never received them, I would have been treated as second class customer since release compared to not only my enemies but the people on my server as well.
Such an issue that is affecting so many people should get more attention from your side, Arenanet. Right now, I am more than surprised and disappointed that:
1. It is not you (!) that informed the customers that there could be a severe bonus bug that couldve affected me since you know about the bug for some time.
2.There is no front page apology & update to your customers, when and how you plan to solve the problem.
Equal terms for your customers should be first priority and at least recompensation to the affected customers for the “lost” income (compared to your server collegues who actually received the same bonus percentage) because of gathering disadvantage is more than due. This bug affected me negatively (income wise) probably for about 90% of the hours I spent playing GW2!
There is a 17 (!) days old thread in the german “Game Bugs” section that is mentioning this problem and guess what, not a single reply from official side. I really hope someone official over here can give me feedback about your plans how to solve the issue.
Thank you in advance.
