So many great suggestions in this thread, but honestly the game needs more things for guilds that make them worth while. My experience is that guilds nothing more than glorified LFG channel, more control is fine for those who run them, but it seems like all the perks only benefit those who run them. I made my own guild just so I could have perks, but honestly I could just scrub off banners planted by others.
Guild is in the title of the game, but has the least amount of features, perks, and things to do as a guild. Honestly the game should be called “Five man group wars” because that is the extent of the game.
At the very least this game needs instanced PvE and PvP scenarios that reward guilds who work together. For now I suppose “Oxymoron” is what we have.
I admit, I have been negative towards the game, and how it has been handled lately, but I rarely ever insult someone else. What I have noticed is that people who insult others may get away scott-free as long as they are defending Guild Wars 2, while those who are more negative get infractions.

I’m almost positive ANet doesn’t want the game to have any community, those who slam other people for being kitten stupid, bad, noobs, don’t have their posts removed, but mine asking if so-in-so had lost any items after being hacked, is a bad thing?
This community has gone from the best ever, to the most vial I’ve seen in all my years gaming, this game has a far much worse community than WoW and LoL put together. Anet had built it to be better and it’s blown up in their faces, the entire game is slowly blowing up in their faces patch after patch, bug after bug, hack after hack. I’ve never even seen so many complaints ever!
They need to get on the ball here, why do I find the forum more interesting than the game? Why are there so many missing features in a AAA next-gen MMO? Every time ANet reloads, they shoot themselves in the foot, for every one post thanking ANet there is 200 more complaints.
ANet needs to be more open and communicate like they once did. They need to stop punishing players, and work on punishing exploiters. AND kitten ADD KEY CHAINS TO SECURITY – WHYWHYWHY WASN’T THIS ON RELEASE ? ? ? World of Warcraft, Mike O’Brian, botters, gold sellers, HACKING – this is a no-brainer!!! It’s just shows the the level of incompetence. Reading old, old posts this was even a problem with GW1, WHY REPETE IT?!
This is why we are outraged, I’d cut anet some slack if they were completely new to the industry, but this is just sad.
And yes, this post has everything to do with this topic.
I didn’t spend any money and I refuse to spend money until I can buy a key-chain authenticator, mobile wont do. I did however spend gold, but the real problem here isn’t what you spend, or how much you spend. The problem is simple: people are not having fun. Well, I’m sure a lot of people are having fun, but it ends quickly once funneled into Cursed Shore. I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of this game, but I was really hoping this game would hold my interest for more than 55 days and keep going strong.
I wasn’t a huge fan of GW1, I honestly hated the game, but I gave this one a shot based off the praise of GW1 vets, and the promises of ArenaNet developers. I would love to hear a response from a developer about why all low level zones are dead, why the game with no grind ends unless you grind and what made them think that a holiday event would be fun if only a small fraction of the player base gets to enjoy it. LA looks wonderful, but it’s not fun to look at decorations, or to farm candy corn for 4 hour items, nor is it fun to spend hard earned gold/money on a “chance”.
To those who say “that’s gambling” you are correct, but gambling usually has a huge reward and several smaller ones, it also entertains you. Buying keys and opening chests is not entertaining. As a level 80, with Master Crafter 99% of the chest items are 100% useless.
You should consider using the mobile authenticator.
No what they need to do is release an actual authenticator like Blizzard did and not half kitten everything to save a buck. I share a phone with my partner, and the only reason we have that one is because we have kids. Is it fair to anyone to pay an extra 80 to 100 dollars a month for a cell phone to protect their video game character?
I use MSE and Malwarebytes, but my WoW account still got hacked – an no, I don’t use all same passwords on everything. When my account was compromised I used both my scanners, they detected nothing, I also used what Blizzard recommended. Nothing was found. Phishing? I don’t even check my e-mail, unless I’m confirming something.
I am very disappointed in ArenaNet’s lack of communication and support, but I can’t really say I am surprised.
You get what you pay for.
Have you ever considered that your e-mail was compromised and not game accounts?
Also if you dont want to buy another phone for authenticator, you can install virtual Android iPhone on your PC (just like any other virtual system/virtual PC), install authenticator on it and it will work with your internet access only.
And lastly: MSE and Malwarebytes are not something i would recommend for PC security just because MSE is a Microsoft product and Malwarebytes is a freeware service. Both are usually easy to bypass.
Those programs are plenty for what I do, not like I am hitting up shady game sites, adult content, or pirating. My history would bore you to death.
A key-chain would really be great, also give paying customers a piece of mind.
You can do every discipline on every character, but there is a fee to switch disciplines if you have more than 2 per character (40s) I believe. If you are going for craft master you can do 2 disciplines on each character all counting towards the achievement.
That is an extremely time consuming, and expensive way to level, unless you’re crafting legendary’s I’d skip crafting all together since there is almost no money to be made after you figure in mats.
If that is what you wanna do, that’s cool too.
This is why I haven’t touched but 1 explore mode since BWE2.
It’s being addressed though, don’t know when.
Apparently it starts exactly 1 hour from now, or perhaps you are not from the future, just in another time zone.
Most of it is true, sort of…
If you compare it to WoW, it’s completely different, I don’t know if you feel like a hero, but it definitely has a “changing” effect to the person/village saved. Did you save Tyria? No, you just delayed the inevitable. vs You turn a quest in and nothing changes, but you some how helped someone.
Story effects you in permanently – You join the vigil ect..
Cause and effect, centars attack because they are jerks, you either save the village or you don’t. They take over the village, or they don’t – add chain events.
The thing about the home instance wasn’t a lie, nor was it even implemented.
I’m still waiting for a justification for making them account bound aside from “it’s too much work.” .
I believe the reason was so that it gave us more to do on alts, and I believe that because I am bored out of my mind on my alt, it hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday, a total “WTF AM I DOING” moment.
Same for completing the map on another character, I was mulling that over on my ele when I got to maelstrom I was like 2 of 37 poi’s – esc/logout to desktop /chrome/netflix
After you do it once, you should be able to buy GoE from the vendor for 10 gold, seriously… This is just my opinion (back off fanboys) this game is just absolutely sucking the fun out of gaming..
They said that they are addressing some issues with the loot, and how the percentages were to low for decent items; however I don’t think this is going to really help the game much. All it will do is help people farm more, bring prices down, which are good things, but the game is feeling extremely stagnate. I am already getting to the point where I don’t even feel like logging in anymore. I am the kind of person who spent hours and hours trying to jump up wall/hill/trees/building in WoW, a person who loves to kill crap for over and over for days to get a drop, do dungeons and help others if I can.
This game lacks interesting dungeons, they are not fun, they don’t have fun mechanics, or anything, imo it’s just cheap challenge. The game really doesn’t let people explore fully, there are invisible walls EVERYWHERE, even in places they don’t makes sense – but what ever.. Lastly RNG is rotten, not only the normal RNG, an RNG+RNG via MF, blows my mind that I have to wear crappy gear to increase my chances on getting better drops, but not better drops, or valuable drops (which I guess in some VERY rare cases you could get an exotic) but its just so stupid.
Like you I get burnt out in PvP (in this game) between the spawn time in spvp, or the brain-numbing amount of running in WvW just kills the fun for me.
They need to design something in this game that is fun and repeatable, I was thinking like repeatable hearts, but then again it would be like dailys in WoW plus its just not fun just adds to the grind.
I don’t know, I like this game, or I thought I did but its just so ..bleh.. there is nothing to it, its kind of like a single player game with no online feature. I know the game is only about 2 months old and all, but holy crap.. I have a level 80, 69, 55, and 2 level 18s.
I have 1 level 80 and I am so effing sick of zombies and Cursed Shore, I don’t even have it in me to farm ore, wood, gold – nothing..
I don’t know what would make the game better, I’m at a loss.. Nodes keep changing locations, that’s a pita, ridiculous respawn rates, only 1 level 80 zone, crafting isn’t good for anything other than making a legendary, legendary pre-cursor is a flipping drop /smh, no need for grouping aka no community..
Maybe I am just done with MMO’s, seems I don’t like them anymore…
No matter how I answer this, it’s going to sound negative…
GW2 is breaking molds, that means everything that seems like a no brainer, or convenience was not implemented.
MF is a boring stat to start with. I mean we all play these games for different reasons, but I feel that a lot of us rather be surprised by good ’ole fashioned RNG, rather than stacking gear that sucks so we can enhance our odds, I use Pirate, and a +.6% sigil and make out just as good, or better than my farming partners who stack as much as possible. I honestly think MF is a poor attempt to sell gems, so people can convert it to gold and make bigger bags, buy more bag slots and more bank space.
Between all the crap you get (boosters ect) from chests, plus the chests, food, gathering, salvaging, extra weapons and of course another armor set.
It’s fine having a tank set and a dps set, but a set for MF… /smh

Chantry of secrets, I just recommended that, then read Pontus post. It worked for me, but strangely it doesn’t work for all.
If PvE was all about exploring, why would have ANet put all that work into Dynamic Events? Seems silly to me.
Most people ignore vets while killing mass amounts of mobs, they don’t have any decent drops for the added difficulty, so it’s pretty much just a mob that gets forced to the side, and dealt with in between waves. I am a warrior and I have no problem tagging most of the time and I usually find a group so we can “pool dps” but some of these areas get so over run with players that a group of 5 is just pissing in the wind. I have noticed that grouping with say more warriors the chances on drops are better than say group with a few mesmers. So there is definitely a problem that needs addressed, maybe they need reintroduce those little chests that drop, but instead of being a daily reward, be a “loot for that last event” reward when it finishes (still giving karma, xp, coin).
When I first started playing my main, all the world bosses and dragons had decent loot, last few weeks they have dropped nothing but vendor trash. I’ve looted 1 exotic weapon off a random Zombie in Cursed Shore, speaking of Cursed Shore, it seems even the loot there has dried up. No reason to continue my level 80 until something gives.
IMO I think the game is in for some bad times, especially since they are dumping resources into more PvP, I mean a lot of people really like PvP I know I do, but there is already a lot to do in PvP where as PvE falls flat on its face. I don’t know what they were thinking, 1 level 80 zone? Yes we can go back and do low level content, but we also take a hit in the reward department and you know all us mmo players are after rewards. We can’t get stronger, so we are going to try and look different at least right? All the different temples in Orr and a game about the cosmedics makes all the gear look the same and only changes the stats? All the same items in the gem store for about 2 months now. Kill a big bad dragon, random world boss, or champion? They either drop nothing, or vendor trash ~ exciting ~ there is nothing to keep players going unless it’s dungeons, or PvP, to be honest, it would be nice not being stuck in dungeons or pvp for the next six-plus years… Fix this dynamic thing that was supposed to be something great.
The game just lacks level 80 PvE content, we are pinholed into 1 zone that offers the most reward and that reward isn’t all that rewarding. Dungeons can be fun, but mostly a headache since they are not friendly to the masses.
I feel that most endgame PvE isn’t worth the time, it isn’t fun fighting a champion for 5-10 minutes for a white drop, or even a dime-a-dozen skin that everyone has. I for whatever reason thought that crafting was going to have more unique skins, that is a huge letdown (master crafter). Also Cursed Shore, I imagined it was more like a PvE-Battle ground where the server pushes forward in like a “tunnel” forward, where a massive battle would take place to win the gates of Arah, instead you can run there no problem, or you have to wait for people to care enough to take it back, getting more and more rare these days.
If anything there needs to be a dye counter say: 325/400 and an achievement for obtaining all dyes like “Chasing The Rainbow” (unlocks all dyes on all characters) or something…
throw us a bone…
Just seems like an awful lot of work for nothing, I use 3 colors: Abyss, Pitch and Lifeblood. I have over 310 dyes on my main character, colors I’d love to use on an alt but really it’s a pita moving dyes from one character to another. The other night I bought like 75 to 100 unidentified dyes and I got 10 maybe 15 colors I still needed, the rest I put in the Mystic Toilet in hopes for a few more colors, which I did get 1, or 2.
Meh, I don’t know, just a lot of work on their part adding all these colors that we will feel the need to get 5+ times…1,985 dyes /sigh..
Hmm, guess I deleted my post… I’ll try this again.
Gritlock: Blood Legion, warrior, level 80.
3/5 T3, 2/5 Karma – still in search of fitting weapons GS + Axe/Axe.
