I’m not saying not to voice your opinions. I’m asking that you do so with some class.
I’ll make an Anet promise, no more disrespect.
Better than paying $15 per TOON transfer, like Blizzard do
I transferred when it was free, but I have no intentions of moving anyway.
Wait, how is it better? GW2 would cost 25 dollars to transfer to high pop. Also 32g isn’t easy for most people to get especially with DR’s keeping your grind session to about 35 minutes.
Raine, have you tried reviving dead NPCs? They also count for the new daily, so if no players die around you, you can run around some heart events or DEs that frequently have dead NPCs. If you still have trouble finding ten dead NPCs to revive, keep in mind the daily will change again tomorrow. That’s what I find so nice about the new system. If you don’t like something, you’re not stuck with it, you can expect it to switch out and maybe be better the next day.
Sorry to hear you are having culling issues. I haven’t had any problems with that so I really can’t comment.
Weird, some how culling is magically fixed for you?
You must have a super computer /rolleyes
Servers are not free ya’ know, that’s why they have a gem store… Wait, where was I going with this?
^ And by the time you have 1000g everything will cost 10k gold.
Glad you having fun with the market simulator though.
honestly the major focus of this patch was nerfing rich ori farming. They made it only 3 hits and they also changed mining picks to be lvl 45. Which alot of us had stocked up on so we could farm on our lvl 7 guardian or whatever alt you had parked there. They put in new no lvl mining picks from laurel vendor tho I guess they really wanted us to all buy those
lol what?
Truth is funny, especially when your daily is crafting.
Ewww crafting… Seriously?
What a poor attempt at flushing materials from the playerbase for a lousy laurel.
This game has the worst boss mechanics, did they give this crap to every temple boss?
So stupid, shame on you Anet, for copy-pasta laziness.
How does one survive the ceiling drop?
Nope, just more bags, I think I got 14 bags, 8 blues and 8-10 greens (chests) 1 rare – hit DR’s faster than you can load into LA.
This game is starting to feel like a facebook game. Limited, no depth and expensive.
GW2 is still a great MMO and better than most other MMO’s but it sure as hell isn’t the “non-MMO MMO” like GW1 was. If you don’t like it, just be happy that you got your moneys worth on the original price tag and go play another game. If you’re looking for a quality “non-MMO MMO” I can recommend Eve Online.
Enjoy playing alone.
I haven’t got to play much at all and honestly I haven’t even felt like playing, but I figured I’d give Anet yet another chance on redeeming themselves. Well after doing 2 events in a chain I had already hit DR’s, (1 failed Priest of Grenth attempt) since it’s bugged we didn’t finish it.
After that I switched to my Ele and did Balth, got nothing but a few moldy bags and greens from the chest (3-4 blues off gobs of trash) from rally to the temple. Then I switched to my warrior and did Lyssa for 7 moldy bags, 4 blues and 4 greens.
Did my daily since that isn’t affected by DR’s? Got 1 laurel and spent it on a t6 bag that yields 3 t6 mats. No thanks, complete waste of time, and now with laurels, and boxes… What a joke.
Oh and culling is even worse…
Yeah I can play the game for free once a day for a limited time, it’s like a kitten demo.
Game is going the wrong direction
Everything is becoming more difficult
Why any remotely challenging thing so scares gamers nowadays?
Thank god you never played GW1 then. You would quit in pre-searing lol.
The game hasn’t become more difficult, it’s became more ridiculous. How does Anet make things harder? Slap 1 billion hp on it, screw mechanics, just put gates on everything.
Laurels, 1 a day and what 10 for monthly? I suppose if you are so bored you play even while suffering DR’s, killing your 100th boss on whatever speed run you might as well get some extra crap right? I topped on my daily allowance running an event .. The daily took a lot of time, a lot of time I was jumping through hoops for 1 laurel, nothing else, and the crafting bag – slap in the face.
It’s hard to log on and do what you need to do before Papa Anet say’s stop. No gold for you, buy gems, buy gems, buy gems.
(edited by Nappychappy.7046)
Guild Wars 2….I had so much hope and excitement…but you have changed so much over these short few months thanks to people like this Nex__ Cancer destroying the game….. I am truly sad..
Please find someone else willing to buy you guys out and allow you to once again live true to your manifesto.
Id prefer having Blizzard buy you out then let NC____ and Nex___ continue to infect you with their cancer..
I didnt put the names fully since I wouldnt want another infraction now would I…
Doesn’t work like that, if they read it as a negative, infraction inbound. I get infractions for some of the dumbest things, but it’s mainly because I don’t kiss the ground anet walks on.
“Also, for the people that want Raiding – Why not ask for more, and more advanced form of Group DEs and World Dragon-esque fights instead?” Because open world content is “Open” meaning it can be zerged. Secondly they are event’s were you usually kill one large boss and possibly it’s minions. It’s not a series of bosses which each have there own mechanics. Lastly large events are short and have little or no communication given the number of players. Even if someone is talking in map chat who even bothers to listen to them?
Raiding is a more advanced form of dungeons.
We already have open world DE’s, these events btw can’t even be failed, which sucks the fun out of it, having a zerg helping you also sucks the fun out of it. Not everyone is a winner, sorry and with there being no top-tier bottom-tier, players have nothing to push for because they have it all right out the gate. Do any of you remember the first time you seen something endgame? You are in awe of the awesomeness, you wanna do what it takes to get that. In this game the things that make you jelly are also the worst implemented items in the kittening world. Anets has zero creativity when it comes to fun.
No raiding is like a dead end minimum wage job.
I’m not sure if your really responding to me, I think you are responding to quote in the first part of my comment. As far as raiding, I agree with alot of people on this thread it should be implemented. But I don’t think having a gear-treadmill is necessary for it to be successful. Thing’s such as fancy skins, precursors, and rare materials could easily be something to fill the role of a traditional “Gear Treadmill”. I understand some people don’t want that but at the end of the day it’s up to Arenanet to decide what they’ll implement to make raiding fun.
I am a sloppy quote’r…
Stat treadmill isn’t required, but reward tread is. Why would I play this game over watching TV? Time is the commodity here, what is anet going to do to compete for it?
Wow, she’s as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside.
How rude. No matter how rotten she is to the gaming community, there is no reason for personal attacks.
Yes. /15whatevers
^ manifesto vs reality.
Explain to me what has changed, then you will have your answer.
it’s only an exploit if you benefit.
believe me these items wont benefit you, so its not an exploit.

Here is Anet’s wallpaper.
Gratz Crystin on destroying Guild Wars. What’s next? Give me advance warning of games not to touch!
Oh and this.
I am positive this is why gw2 did a 180 on the manifesto.
Players know that the biggest joke of the game is that :
1) They demotivates you to grind.
2) The end-game carrots and rewards requires you to grind. They kept nerfing ways for you to earn golds.
It’s no longer possible for you to earn 1 gold per hour now.I have to be honest.
GW2 end-game mechanic are far worst than traditional mmorpgs.
In traditional mmorpg, when you grind, you feel it’s worth it.
In GW2, there’s no point of grinding except extra gold. This is why I was so skeptical of this game pre-release. Last year there was this rather lengthy thread on why B2P with gems was so much better than that “rip off monthly fee” and my argument was that 15 maybe a ripoff but 5 to 10 dollars would make this game superior to B2P models.
People don’t understand that you lose large part of what makes a fun game fun, when you have a cash shop. The cash shop dictates what you can and cant do based on what makes the game possible. So we have a hollow shell of an mmorpg that limits reward, but encourages spending.
I rather pay for a full experience than to dance around diminishing returns as punishment for not buying gems every day.
League of Legends would have words with you about that.
There is literally no reason that a cash shop should be either glorified gambling, ineffectual and lacking in aesthetic items this long after release, unless of course they went and did something absolutely crazy…
Like hire someone from a hated and much criticized company that’s known for making “nickle and dime” decisions.
LoL is a different game, if everyone in GW2 played as stick men/woman and they only charged for skins that’s be a lot different. The fact is gold is a currency that works against the cash shop, so it is hard to acquire, being able to sell items in game world-wide also works against the cash shop and we have had a nerf to drop rates for how long now? Dyes could be bought with in game gold, or in the cash shop – they accidentally increase the drop rate and it is patched ASAP, anything that is beneficial to the player is removed, or nerf’d out of the game all in the name of greed.
Greed? But it is B2P and free 2 play from then on!
B2P opens the doors up wider than P2P games, some people wouldn’t dare spend 15 a month, but hand over 20 a week in a F2P.
Only a fanboy would pay 5 times the amount for a game that is a step back in the industry.
OMG WHY WAS I NOT MADE AWARE OF THE EXPERIMENTAL TELPORTATION GUN SOONER?!
(Just went out and bought 250 of them)
Congratulations, before you can use them Anet will have nerf’d it and you will now have 249 worthless items.
artificing though by now the mats are probably outrageous, other than that WvW zergs all the way.

It worries me now this game may become outdated or obsolete sooner than expected for the sole reason of portals. as new mmo’s will start to utilize open worlds this may become the only modern mmo with portal zoning.
This game is really pretty, the art team is amazing, and I am sure credit goes out to some programmers ect, but this game is a HUGE step backwards.
Anti-Blizzard.
Money.
Strange I know.

No raiding is like a dead end minimum wage job.
GW2 is the kind of game u come home tired from work and u can log in a do whatever da hell u want, u can PVE, PVP, WvW u can just jump in and have fun, that is why most of us love this game, there are no riad schedules or gear progression u have to do cuz otherwise nobody will want u on their groups, u don’t have to be on a guild and do guild events like it was a 2nd job. Hell no GW2 is casual and we love it this way, we log in and just have fun doing whaever da hell we want. We don’t feel tied to it, we can just stop playing for 3, 4 days and come back and eveything is the same u can just jump in into the fun. I think that is the target audience GW2 is aiming at, ppl who don’t want to feel a game is a 2nd job, ppl who just want to log and have fun to forget about real life problems just for a few hours.
It is not meant to be epic, just enjoyable, the combat feels great, the graphics are amazing it a beatifull looking game. Notice every single WoW clone has died fast, cuz ppl who likes that kind of game will just go back to WoW in the end. In the other hand a games like GW1 or Lineage 2 lived for over 9 years allready and coexisted with WoW from the very beggining, and the only reasson for that is cuz ppl who likes those game dislikes WoW and,¡ they loved those games cuz offered a different experience.
So even while i understand everything u said, i think u are very right to feel that way, but this game, may be, is just not for u cuz some of us actually love this game the way it is. I’m sure they will include more WoW like content in the future to try atract some players like u, but in the end, the game will allways be what it is.I can log on after work and finish my legendary?!!? ZOMG!!!
Seriously though, you can do what you want if you don’t mind getting the shaft. I am sure like you, like me.. You don’t mind working 40/50 hours a week for nothing, then this game is right up your alley.
I’m not even really that “hardcore” and I burnt through gw2 quick, I have roughly the same hours in Skyrim as I do gw2, pretty weak mmo fo sho..
Then….why are you playing? Why would you decide to play a game that isn’t fun to you, unless you just want to troll? People normally play games they like, not games they dislike. Seems like a simple choice, don’t do things you don’t like to do with your free time. Are the devs kidnapping people and locking them in a room with this game or something?
As you can clearly see, I am not playing.
then why are you on the forums? There’s a lot of games that I bought, but didn’t like. You won’t see me present on forums dedicated to those games though.
Why are you on the forums fanboy? Shouldn’t you be playing? Can’t Anet defend themselves or do they need you here to rescue them from every nay-sayer?

So I know I am not allowed to question Anet unless I want an infraction, have my post deleted, or closed due to some obscure reason the mods have come up with to silence my slanderous voice hole. BUT, I think this needs to be discussed in a new thread.
GRIND, we all were told this game was designed for no grind, that’s wholeheartedly false.
How can this be reduced in this games current form?
Is the perceived grind just an exxageration? If so how can this perception be adjusted?
Do we as gamers feel the Devs see our point of view on this?
Will communication on this subject happen?
So just some thoughts I would like to discuss with my fellow players. I will gladly take my infraction for asking such slanderous questions. As long as we get to discuss this.
You are not allowed to do anything but kiss kitten on this forum mind you, but it doesn’t matter because even when anet “listened” they really didn’t. This game is still plagued with beta issues that were then (being looked into).
Also this game is a horrible grind-fest for anyone who doesn’t have a 2nd/3rd or 4th game to tide them over while playing Gw2 very casually (I workd 50+ hours) and still find it hard to log in for anything more than a daily/single event. As an mmorpg, this game fails horribly, they’ve taken all that was worth player time and destroyed it, made new things that made this game a wow clone i.e. sit in a town LFG for dungeons.
Still remains to be one of the funnest things to do in mmos.
I did the grind in Orr while the gettin’ was good, now I just don’t bother playing.
I can’t believe I was so excited for this game less than a year ago, what a joke it has become.
Why don’t you just go farm it? there are people who used 100~g in mats including me to get this and i would hate this change.
Because anet wont allow anyone to “Just go farm it”
If it would make you mad about spending the gold, YOU should have just gone and farmed it.
Other than that, you just admit you prefer GW2 be pay-to-win game, would make you QQ if the game was actually fair.
A friend I play with regularly had her account hacked and then subsequently banned. She hasn’t actually played for a few weeks, and we’d wondered what it meant when her location in the guild roster was Desolation (in orange letters). Has anyone had success is recovering their account from customer service if this has happened?
From what I understand is it takes at least 7 days, then maybe more for “review” and anything after Dec. something can be rolled back and restored. Shame support is so painfully slow.
I miss WoW in that respect, hacked and restored with in an hour.
Soul-binding helps keep the market stable.
If you take the soul-binding off, all the armor and equipment will drop to near worthless.
They do already sell for nearly nothing, ectos worth more than items, unless it is a precursor or rare drop/skin.
Great sword of the gem store.
Description:
Coin roll handle and dollar sign blade.
Effects: Gold/silver/copper trickles off the blade also leaves money bag footprints.
What’s the fascination quaggans? Were they in GW1, or something totally new that people had fallen in love with? Personally I find them annoying.
If you suck at raiding, guess what, you wouldn’t be forced to do them. Just like no one is forcing you to grind, to make a legendary, or to do fractals.
How the hell would DKP even work in gw2? lulz! DKP wasn’t even that big in WoW and if you left WoW because of DKP, I call bullshat esp if you were main tank.

Those are game differences, irrelevant things when talking about B2P or Monthly sub.
Security – top notch 25m to 1h wait vs. wait 7+ days.
Support – again top notch vs. lolwut?
The entire game giving you options vs. limiting everything in order to monetize.
Has a deadline vs. work in progress (eventually excuse)
Many servers, many locations vs. centralized lagfest.
Fact is I could spend 500 a month in GW2 and it still wouldn’t offer anything close to what a measly 15 dollars a month would, and that is exactly why F2P is taking off, it’s no different that Rent a Center.. People think it’s such a great deal even though the item costs 5 times the amount it would to buy it outright.
Diminishing returns cost me dearly.
(edited by Nappychappy.7046)
watch out TESO.
everything else dont stand much of a chance imo.Looks like you haven’t seen gameplay yet.
TESO’s combat is something so terrible there are no words to describe.
FF11’s combat is way more action than that of TESO, just to give you a heads up.TESO is just the new SWTOR, using a famous brand as a name for a terrible MMO in order to make a big money-grab, cash-in and then run away with the money.
Have fun being one of the baited ones.
If you don’t like ESO combat, then we know you don’t like GW2 combat, just sayin’.
tbh eso can’t be much worse than gw2.
There is no monthly fee so they don’t feel obligated to release new content every month.
Funny pre-launch everyone was like “There is no monthly fee, so they will release more content to keep people playing”.
They release more often, but it’s mostly really lame untested filler crap content.

Thanks, I’ll check it out Monday, though most of the replies I saw were about champions (which are used in [Group] events), so they aren’t intended to be soloable.
They should be considering champions don’t attack LA where the activity is.
I think that Anet is trying to hard to not be like Blizzard, which sucks because WoW copies a ton of great ideas. So basically Anet shuns great ideas for the sake of their own pride vs what makes games so dang fun.
I’m GLAD they’re not trying to copy WoW. Have you not seen what happens to games that try to copy WoW?. The game could be better than WoW in every aspect, but, as soon as someone decides to label it a “WoW Clone”, everyone automatically turns they’re back on it.
So what you are saying is that if they use any IDEAS from WoW it is a WoW clone, but since WoW used so many great IDEAS from other games then WoW is still WoW?
I hate to break it to you, but the things in Gw2 are not 100% original ideas by anet developers.
Well I suppose I’ve forgotten the new dailies which is of the most concern to me, hopefully it’s nothing that’s too time consuming. New dailies each day of the week, then later they’ll add 4 out of 6 you’ll need to complete. Thoughts?
I don’t even want to complete 1 daily 99% of the time, World of Warcraft ruined daily activity for rewards many moons ago for me.
I don’t much like the constant control anet has on players, and then to mask the control they add systems that are even more controlling.
Can’t farm, nope, but here you can repeat this task every day for a cookie and after you have 500 cookies you can trade it for something small. If you don’t like it push “O” and have a nice day.
We shall see how much of a bonus it is when the final cost of items is released.
It’s just another gated system that funnels players into the gem store.
ArenaNet is giving us more ways to get stuff in-game so that more people will turn to the gem store?
That’s devious…
It is, perhaps I am to negative, but so far anets track record has been rather disappointing.
I’m pretty sure a lot of the vendors are mixed up in this game, like the asuran sylvari weapon vendor swap.
When you are in a place you havent been before and you yell: “I NEED SOME SPACE!!”
That is actually pretty funny.
Can’t really feel cheated, laurels are a pure bonus on top of the normal daily reward.
We shall see how much of a bonus it is when the final cost of items is released.

If Anet made GW2 to be anything like WoW, I wouldn’t be here, and they wouldn’t be getting my gem money.
For players like me, their strategy is working.
I am talking about features, since that is what they copy. They already have a formula in place. But let’s be honest, you play this game because it costs nothing a month.
Most games cost nothing per month, we play gw2 because its fun. It’s also not for everyone.
No game is.
I disagree with basically everything in the op, and if you want pve where you have to watch your back, that’s exactly what wvw is. There are loads of 1v1s if you are away from the main fortifications.
Nothing is free.
We lose more that you think, just because this game is B2P.
Costs are still being tested I think they said.
As far as Laurels, I’m skeptical. The way Arenanet approaches cost and limitations, I’m actually a bit worried. Most of the time I feel cheated for even trying.
The whole game is endgame and you can’t lose.
Ever seen a failed dragon event? I haven’t.. Even if we did, nothing would change so who cares. If the event failed and the zone turned into a huge crapfest people would just WP out, if the reward was awesome they would stay and fail the even as often as possible. Mundane to say the least.
Endgame is where the loot is phat, the karma is best and the coin drops the most.
Pretty sure we all play to have fun, part of that fun is getting loot, stats, or cosmedics.
Why on earth is there a modifier that “boosts” a part of the game that we already play for, and why does it nerf a group, or what is the point of getting new shinies to again only wear modifier gear that still nerfs the group?
