Won't be getting Legendary armor!

I’m actually wondering what if you could just sell the precursor/legendary armor that you get from raiding? Wouldn’t that fix two problems?

1. Non raiders would be able to get legendary armor.

2. The reward for raiding could become extremely good.

Then WvWr’s would never get the legendary armour as we have the worst rewards of any game mode. PvP could do a giant reward track and it could work, but the gold sink in WvW is to large to purchase anything exclusive off the TP. WvWr’s would have to do even more annoying PvE grind to get the armour.

Why do you make a WvW problem to a legendary armor problem?

there is no legendary armor problem. it’s tied to raids, so do raids to get it.

Are you EVEN reading the posts you quote?

He was basically saying “if you could buy legendary armor (or components for it) from the TP, WvW players wouldn’t be able to get them without playing PvE since they don’t have good rewards”. But isn’t that a problem in WvW with pretty much EVERYTHING that costs gold?

So I told him that his problem isn’t a legendary armor problem but a WvW problem instead.

Sure it’s a WvW problem, but locking gear that is essential for WvWrs behind arbitrary Raid completions is not something I bought this game for. Go read my larger post to understand why this decision is screwing over WvWr’s yet again.

That’s why I suggested that you could sell the legendary armor or components of it on the TP to “fix two problems” at once.

I quote myself:

I’m actually wondering what if you could just sell the precursor/legendary armor that you get from raiding? Wouldn’t that fix two problems?

2. The reward for raiding could become extremely good.

And he responded with:

And I answered that this wouldn’t be a legendary armor problem but that it’s a (existing) WvW problem.

The way this forum handles quotes is just bad and creates these weird discussions were people respond to posts without knowing the whole context behind it. But I hope that I made it clear now.

Give us more stuff to do in the fight, jobs we have to fullfill and make the fights a bit more controlled.

Whats meant by underperforming?
MMOs dont have any rules which states how players have to play.
Who would decide that someone was underperforming, and on what basis.
I havnt got the foggiest idea what my DPS is, nor do I care, nor is it anyone elses business.

A DPS meter would help here a lot. See who is underperforming (remember that the required DPS isn’t that high), ask them if it’s the equipment, the build or the rotation and try to improve on that.

That’s just solving a symptom, not the problem. The problem is not that players are unaware of their own DPS, the problem is that they NEED a certain amount of DPS in order to pass the content. solve that and a DPS meter becomes irrelevant.

Wow not sure how to respond to that stuff.

The more and more I read about PUGs being bad (waiting and players leaving after wipes) the more and more I think that a DPS meter would actually HELP PUGs and casual players.

For example I remember joining a VG “PUG-ish” group just for fun (and shards). I think 50%+ were in a guild, all being new to raids and the DPS was just a NIGHTMARE. We phased VG rughly at the 5 minute mark. I wasn’t sure how to react.

I can totally understand why “experienced” players would rage quit at that point. I was saying that our DPS is way too low, but there was no real response to that. (Also green circle group failed from time to time too)

To not be a kitten I stayed for several more tries but it didn’t get any better. I also had no idea how to help in that case at all. I left the group after saying that I don’t think that we are getting anyway.

I mean what should you do in such a group? You could ask what equipment they have and what build they use sure. But how many of them would tell you the truth? And even if they have the perfect equipment and build maybe the execution is the problem? How do you see if someone is doing the right rotation during a fight if you don’t even play the profession yourself?

A DPS meter would help here a lot. See who is underperforming (remember that the required DPS isn’t that high), ask them if it’s the equipment, the build or the rotation and try to improve on that.

Now you might say that some groups would simply kick the ones who have the lowest DPS (of course considering their role and profession to some degree) and that it’s very toxic and elite and if you ask me that’s probably true. But maybe, just maybe the “good ones” who would normally instant leave might stay now and the ones who don’t underperform wouldn’t have to waste so much time.

And the players who get kicked? Well maybe, just maybe they have to improve? After all you don’t need the perfect equipment with the perfect build and the perfect execution you just have to meet the required DPS (and the utility depending on your profession).

Oh and very important, I know that the DPS isn’t the only thing. Your job in that fight and the buffs and utility skills you provide are all important too. That’s why I think seeing who is giving buffs and some more statistic besides the DPS meter would also be required.

So, what do you say? Am I totally wrong?

SAB Tribulation Mode Complaint (?)

Actually I finished it in normal mode without a torch, but that path isn’t accessible in tribulation mode as far as I know. So I never even stumbled upon that waterfall until now.

They added portals to W2 that lets you skip nearly half of the zones. The torch isn’t required for normal mode 2.0, but only because of those skips. Also, tribulation mode is meant to be unfair.

That’s “the problem”. World 2 has so many skips now. They have cut like 50% of zone 2 and zone 3. They should have kept everything and just increased the rewards instead.

The end chests could have contained something like this:
W1-Z1/Z2/Z3: 2 Baubles Bubbles (no changes)
W2-Z1: 3 Bauble Bubbles
W2-Z2: 4 Bauble Bubbles
W2-Z3: 4 Bauble Bubbles

But nooo… they took too long and had to be shortened instead…

They are so boring now and taking the longer way (harder way) is really unrewarding.

There is just so much wrong with the new map meta events. This is a good example.

Also to make it clear I’m also part of this “zerg” (did this quite early before it was that common) and who should you blame? Me? Or maybe anet for creating such a bad system?

There are two general problems.

1. Erything is on a fixed timer. Joining a map early on and doing events is just plain stupid. Most of the event chains don’t take that long (TD) or are repetetive and unrewarding (VB). Joining to the final meta event is way too rewarding in comparison.

2. Tagging multiple events shouldn’t be possible and they give too much map participation most of the time too.

Ideally when joining one of the new maps you should be able to do this: Just do events and help progress the meta event WITHOUT feeling that this progress goes to waste (maps closing) or that changing the map with a taxi gives you better rewards.

If they remove the timers and if they balance it somehow so that you need to participate at atleast ~50% of all “pre-map meta event” events to get the best rewards (100% participation) would be nice.

In other words if there are 4 total Tiers and you were doing events from Tier 1 (0%) to
Tier 3 (0%), you would get 100% loot for the all events in Tier 3, Tier 4 and the final meta.

Joining a map that is at the final meta event and doing events SHOULD NOT give you the best loot.

Joining a map that is at Tier 1 to Tier 3 and doing events till the end should give you the best rewards instead.

Would that eliminate leechers? Probably not all of them. But with that they would at least have to do a lot more. Also taxi-ing should be much less common which after all shouldn’t be needed for open world content anyway.

after seeing the toxicity of many in raids, And I raid a lot…. I’m gonna say no, it’d just be used to discriminate people.

Or you know it also might show them who has to IMPROVE. Instead of hours of wipes because your DPS is bad now you would be able to see who is really lacking and help them to improve. And if they aren’t getting better then they deserver to get kicked.

And yes, maybe showing the DPS of each player is a little bit too much. But at least give us a personal dps meter. How can that be too bad?

This is my argument. It’s not like any other requirement for anything else in the game, because raids DO take far far more effort than anything else in the game. And if you don’t enjoy them, then Anet is requiring you to not enjoy the game.

And yet I don’t enjoy them….ankitten ot required to do them.

You are not required to do them….unless you want legendary armor. This is the truth as we know it so far. There are people working on their legendary sets right now…I happen not to be one of them.

You don’t have to agree with I’m saying, but it doesn’t make it any less valid.

I’m working on it right now and I’m forced to “play” or “visit” the new PvE maps EVERY DAY. The raid part of the legendary armor seems to be the easier part. LOL.

But you aren’t forced to be working on them.

I read this as a tongue in cheek reply to those who say they are “forced” to do raids. Especially with the “LOL” art the end.

We’re not forced to do raids, nor play the game at all. But if the rewards that are new and good are mostly now hidden behind raids, that’s where the pressure is. I’ve left games in the past for just that reason.

Forced might be the wrong word, feel free to read it is strongly encouraged or guided by the push of the game company.

Try to put yourself in a casual players place. After the Winter update, we had two things on top of our screen on the right at the same time….PvP leagues and Raids. That’s what the game was giving us.

Are we “forced” to do it? No, not in the literal sense of the word force. It’s too bad people tend to take things literally the first time they read it, because no matter how many times you explain it afterwards, they continue to push their misinterpretation over the actual intended meaning. That’s sort of the whole point of explaining it.

To be clear in the cases where I’ve been using it forced means strongly incentivized. Pressured. Pushed in the direction of.

As I said. You are also “pushed in the direction” to play the PvE open world content if you want to get the legendary armor.

Legendary armor =/= raids.

Legendary armor = raids + open world

That’s how it is right now.

The biggest challenge is finding a raid group. The second biggest challenge is finding a raid group that doesn’t fall apart easily.

I am starting to think raid is a becoming a mistake if the biggest challenge is not the boss itself.

Blame the missing DPS meter and other missing tools that show what the problem in your group is. (Besides failing mechanics)

Legendary armor also requires you to “play” PvE. You will have to be at the end of 300 completed event chains in the new PvE maps with certain items. Of course you do not have to participate in any of the chains. But good luck on getting on a “finished” map every time.

Did most forget that HoT shipped with ZERO raid wings? Everything we got, the 4 new PvE maps, the story instances, the guild halls, the adventures, the new pvp gamemode and the new WvW map is all stuff that is NOT raid.

Now anet releases the raid AFTER the release of HoT and many think GW2 is raid centered and they only work on that? WTF? It is just such a small fraction of the content in HoT.

Maybe you have to realize that not raids are the problem but the rest of the game. We can easily asume that anet worked for at least one year on HoT and that’s what we got. 4 PvE maps per year which you have to pay for? Is that what you want? Keep in mind that there was probably little work done on raids in that time. Maybe the first wing was done. So even if they wouldn’t work on raids you still had about 4 PvE maps you have to pay for each year.

It’s not the raid that “wastes” resources. Take a look:
-How many even play the new PvP gamemode? How many like it?
-The new WvW map? Everybody knows the current state of it.
-What about adventures? Ok I guess, but there is no reason to do them after gold and they are disabled 90% of the time.
-Fractals? Swamp 24/7 is probably not what anet was aiming for.
-Guild Halls? Incredible amounts of gold/mats required for simple stuff and locking WvW upgrade too? Yeah nice.
-Mastery Experience “grind”?
-Full PvE maps closing?
-Only 3 new legendary weapons so far?
-Fractal backpiece?
etc.
etc.

Just SO many things either broken, bad, unfinished, thoughtless or unnecessary. Yes it isn’t a total disaster and some problems were already “fixed”. But saying that RAIDS are the reason you don’t like the game anymore is just plain untruth and you know it.

Problem is a ton of people reach the end game fairly quickly because they are gaming addicts, and have nothing to do. Now to keep these players interested raids are born. How is all of this not obvious?

That’s pretty much it.

Also the so much hated “gear treadmill” combined with raid ensures to give you the most challenging content you can get. If you can’t beat it now (with your skill) it will be slightly easier the next week. Basically making the content available to MORE players at some point.

I’m not saying that’s the best way but it certainly works in some way. If you join an mmo expansion for example WoW 1 or 2 raids later you usually have a quite easy time with the first bosses/raid and you will hit a “wall” at some point that you either have to climb with your skill or with better gear the next weeks.

In some way pretty much everybody can play the content made for the “2%” at some point. Isn’t that what you want?

There are of course some other flaws but there are good reasons why it’s like that.

Now in GW2 I think it’s quite okay without new gear. We have to see how much the older raids will be played but I think raids will work really well in GW2 for the players who like the challenge.

Maybe increase the loot since I can already see newer players not wanting to do a raid boss for 2 gold + a small % on something good if they have to learn it for X hours.

We can talk semantics all day, but the facts are that scripted combat is given a path to the best rewards. Unscripted combat is given no path to the best rewards.

Surely the devs can can create a fancy new wvw and spvp currency to buy equivalent gear offered in raids and provide paths to legendary gears. It would not be unreasonable or unfitting considering it takes true skill, time, effort, determination… to be successful in competitive combat and environments.

Did you forget that JUST WALKING FROM POINT TO POINT is one of the most rewarding things to do in this game? Fractals have better loot compared to raids too.

Also whats your problem with RAIDS? If they are so easy why don’t you just do them and get the rewards? It’s not like these ~2 hours per week are that much.

I call it elitist because it is. Raids have created an elitist attitude and a LTP resurgence. The “You just want easy content” answer to anyone complaining about content of the raid and what the problems observed in their opinion. So, yes, elitist is a very good term to use.

One main reason why Pubs (LFGs) don’t take any players with professions and builds that aren’t “meta” is that we don’t have any kind of information of how well a player performs…. aka there is no DAMAGE METER.

Heck even if the player pings his gear and “seems” to do his job right, there is no way to know how well he is actually doing it. Is he doing 100%, 70% or 40% of the possible damage with his profession/build?

Yes some Pugs would probably kick players with bad DPS. However this would allow everyone to improve and to see if they are “the problem” instead of wasting the time of 10 players without a progress.

Also players who have a different build would be able to prove that they still can do good damage. Probably not as much as the perfect players with a meta build but maybe more than a bad player with a meta build.

In my opinion Gorseval and sabetha are the best examples for a lazy way to implement enragetimers. And be honest people, u all hate the fact, bosses kill u without a reason only cause the time runs out. enrage reminds me on a dev statement pre gw2 release: “u encounter a boss and he will always do his best to kill u”. isnt that against “X mins are over guys, played enough, i got something on stove.”

So why isn’t Gorseval using “World Eater” all the time? Also this sentence goes against the whole idea behind “phases”.

Btw why is “You have x A’s and every z minutes you lose one A. You die when you have zero A” that much better? All you do is hide the actual timer that would be “x*z”.

Anet just failed. Back to tank and heal…it is just a joke lol. Good basic game with a lot of potential ruined by cry-babies who wanted holy trinity and big groups.

Hahahahahahahaha. Yeah we all know how good dungeons were.

The concept of raids in is really good. And it is the best PvE content in GW2 right now. Yes it has some flaws (profession/role balancing, missing DPS meter, ‘slightly’ bad loot) but the combat and mechanics spit on dungeons and fractals.

Also what’s your problem with the holy trinity?

But that doesn’t even matter anyway because the raids in GW2 don’t really have a holy trinity. Anet was just smart enough to give the players a way to have more control over the boss via “tanking” aka “being the guy who moves the boss”. Not to metion that the third boss doesn’t even require a “tank”.

Raids really fit to GW2. The only thing that it made unnecessary are the combo fields. But these simply get awful if you have 5 or more players anyway and they weren’t perfectly design for “MMO”-PvE since the beginning anyway.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

I agree… and one way to fix that would be… you know? RELEASE A NEW WING.

4 months since the release of the expansion and we still have only 1 wing with 3 bosses. I know making a raid takes time but couldn’t they up the speed a bit? With only 3 bosses you are done with raiding in ~2 hours with a decent group right now.

If we had let’s say 2 raids with 3 wings and 3 bosses each we would have 18 bosses per week for potential loot. Anet should try to get to such a point faster.

Oh btw one thing we shouldn’t forget is that only the newest wing will grant 4 gold per boss. That’s right each boss from the first wing will give you only 2 gold (once per week) once the next wing is released.

I would LOVE to see someone else suggest a better way than enrage timers to deal with cheesing hard content with ultratank/healing builds instead of arguing how bad it is. It’s not THAT bad … lots of games have them and they work. It might not be the best but then, does it need to be?

How is using a tank group cheesing? We have groups 5-6 manning, only [insert profession] groups. Why would a slower, damage per second, tank group be cheesing?

I for one dislike the idea of the 1 heal, 1 tank, 8 dd, meta that we have now….hmmm reminds me of the holy-trinity. I would like to see stuff like 3 healers, 5 tanks, 2 dds, new types of group compositions.

The first reason with that is that 95%+ of the players have DD gear already. This would mean all of them would have to change the gear or craft a new one.

The second problem is that right now the “healer” and “tank” roles are not balanced between the professions. Most prefossions can’t even take that role and anet would have to change most of the professions to be similiar strong. Heck they aren’t even able to balance the DD role for each profession perfectly which normally shouldn’t be that hard.

I’ve already stated how I’ve seen in other games. Short burn-phases to change phase or DPS vs the Boss’s DPS on specific phase(s) are ways i’ve seen. A timer for the whole kill itself is just…not creative and lazy. Also incorporating burst DPS into PvE would neat too.

And as others have pointed out, all you do is chop up the timer instead of actually working around it.

Please come up with a serious solution and not just timer semantics.

Your current “solution” is just as lazy as the timers you complain about.

Here is my suggestion, remove the timer but increase the boss damage by 500% after the same amount of time. Problem solved for 90% of the complaining people in this thread since it seems most don’t even understand how basic boss design works.

That’s how those timers work right now actually.

Why are raids designed backwards?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Neox.3497

This makes no sense.

If the boss would attack the person with the lowest toughness or armor everybody on the team would take tank-ish equipment and the actual “tank” would just take 1 less toughness than the rest of the group.

So what’s the point of it? It would be “more realistic”?

You are trying to change something that makes totally sense from a game design viewpoint. Remember this is a GAME. It has mechanics and rules to make it FUN.

They we’re always viable. People were just incredibly ignorant and thinking: "if this “pro-group” killed the bosses with this group set up, we don’t want classes that they didn’t use!"

Bringing guardian to raids actually makes it more comfortable. Healer can’t heal you because he just used his burst heal skills? Guardian can help. Revenant can’t keep up the protection? Guardian can help. Crap I’ll die if I get hit by the next attack. Guardian is here with a bit of aegis!

People just think that guardian is not useful because other classes can also do what they do. But what they forget is that guardian is really good in filling the gaps when someone screws something up, while doing good dps.

The actual reason is the missing dps meter.

Raid Timers lazy way to increase diffuclty

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Neox.3497

Neox.3497

Not this again. Please.

Timers are there so you can’t run 10 nomads hammer guardians and tank your way through every fight.

This. Timers are a must have or people could find a way cheese the bosses or to solo this 10 man content.

If you are able to solo it when the timer isn’t there, doesn’t that say something about the bosses themself?
I agree that the timers are a lazy way to make the fights somewhat challenging, because without them a lot of pressure of having to DPS goes away, and the bosses will be on about the same difficulty level of a veteran in Queensdale.
I’d rather have seen Anet give the bosses actual challenging mechanics instead of some boring DPS check

Have you even done the raids? It sure seems like you haven’t.
General percentage of wipes to boss mechanics: 99%
General percentage of wipes to enrage timer: 0.01%

If that’s the truth, the timer is not necessary.

Incorrect, the timer requires you to take squishier builds which then make wiping to the mechanics more likely. If there are no timers and everyone takes Nomads then the green circle on VG becomes irrelevant (still shocked you haven’t picked this up).

The timer forces you to confront the mechanics because you are not all tanks.

I said “if that’s the truth”, didn’t i? And that was the bladex’s whole point – if without the timer boss mechanics can be made irrelevent by taking a different build, then those are some very bad and lazy boss mechanics, and the timer exists only to conceal that fact. Mechanics should be the difficulty, not the timer.

But then of course majority of raiders would not be able to clear them.

The timer and mechanics are balanced together, why aren’t you understanding this?

Because there are better ways of requiring DPS without a gimmicky timer. Why aren’t you understanding this?

Let’s take your example of Gorseval.

Let’s say he has no timer, he stops his CC phase by himself and you can’t use portals on the ground to avoid his wide AOE. (Since these would be abused without a timer)

This means instead of having a VISIBLE timer all the time everything is based on timed attacks and the only phase that “stops” that timer is the charged souls phase.

So in other words. Every phase except the charged souls phases would be TIMED dps checks.

All you would achieve with that is that you no longer have a timer on the HUD and that you have a “pause” phase (in case you have enough CC). Why do you need that?

the 5 man kills will die most likely today, they are based on exploiting that broken chronomancer well, same as most ‘speed kills’ (yes all VG records are meaningless after this patch as you can’t reproduce them anymore)

Doesn’t change the fact that the OP had 3 months to do a braindead easy boss and still couldn’t

Haha you are slightly exaggerating. But I actually agree with you.

The general problems with bad groups are either low dps, failing mechanics or even both.

I was in Vale Guardian groups who have dealt sooo little damage.
How do you want to kill VG if you phase him to the first split phase at 5:00?
Or how do you want to kill VG if your groups wipes in the FIRST phase because of green circles every second try?

Let’s find personal reasons:

  • Low dps?

Do you have a bad build and bad rotations?

The easiest way to fix this: Just look up the internet for a guide/build. I do it. You can do it too.

  • Failing mechanics?

Is your pc/laptop/potato too bad and fails to render visuals?

Buy a new pc/laptop or don’t even try.

Are you lacking fine motor skills? Or is your reaction too slow?

Try to improve or raids are simply nothing for you.

Also just as I said in the other thread. A dps meter would probably help some groups that have dps problems.

You do realize that only those who really care about having a DPS meter are the meta try-hards and the min/maxers right? People get enough flak for not running the almighty zerker gear. What we DON’T need is a sure fire way to come down on other players for not playing a way that someone thinks they should play.
Besides, nearly every bit of content, with perhaps the exception of raids, can be completed in the worse possible build setup ever.
No. An in-game DPS meter will only serve to stoke the ego’s of those who live by such things, and do nothing to promote cooperation, teamwork, or build diversity.

Not entirely. If your group lacks dps obviously everybody will blame it on the players who doesn’t wear full zerk.

However if we actually get a DPS meter and you see that a full zerk ‘prof A’ deals less damage than a non-full zerk ‘prof A’ people might actually see that the “bad players” is the reason.

Also with a DPS meter you should be able to improve yourself MUCH better. I mean yes there will be some groups who would insta kick you for low dps. But groups who have dps problems (not because of one palyer but the entire group) would have a way to improve.

“Maybe this skill or trait deals more damage? I try it out.”
“Hey other ‘prof A’ how do you deal so much damage? What skills and traits do you use?”

Most raid groups require team speak and most players for all sorts of reasons are not comfortable using team speak. And i think if you asked any one in the general non gaming population if they would be comfortable talking to complete strangers on a program like team speak the vast majority would say no.Why the hell are anet adding content to this game that forces the use of third party software and locking legendary armor behind it.

You don’t have to use Teamspeak or some other voice program. It’s just much easier with it to learn the boss and to coordinate.

Also you don’t even have to talk since usually there is one person (or two) who leads and calls everything.

Actually something similiar is going to be added.

“Squad Markers and Lieutenants

We’re adding squad markers and the ability to promote lieutenants to our Enhanced Squad UI experience. Commanders will be able to appoint lieutenants to take care of administrative tasks like organizing subgroups, inviting or removing players, and broadcasting messages. Additionally, squad leaders will be able to mark locations, players, and enemies with symbols which will appear both in the game world and on your compass."

However I’m not sure if you will be able to do that in a group.

Also Raids are still ‘new’. I bet in 6months or so after the majority of the first raid has been completely released and conquered Anet will adjust the raid to accommodate for 75% success rather then the current 90%, which will fix the issues I am seeing with the raids and that many others are reporting.

I hope not.

Yeah another “it takes up space” similiar to the one post with the raid.

Can’t you understand that it doesn’t matter WHERE they are? If they moved them these locations would probably be ‘empty’… like 90% of the map. It’s not like they said “Oh no we have no space in the map anymore to add more content!” there is ALWAYS space they just decided not to put more content into the map.

Unless you mean you don’t want the “minigames” at all. That’s another story.

Toxic players for me are the one who don’t accept any mistakes and want perfection, that’s something that made me quit the game a while ago when I was running dungeons with pugs after my Guild died…

I can understand if someone does a mistake or two… but if you keep on failing and get hit by stupid stuff it simply doesn’t work.

I can’t understand how people are able to get killed by something like the sabetha wall over and over (unless it was a kick).

Ohh yeah. This thread again.

A weapon that costs 60$ with +20% damage is “pay 2 win” in other “free 2 play” games.

However if you also get access to other content for the 60$ it’s suddenly not “pay 2 win”.

Remember that!

Also pay 2 win is an established game payment method. Everybody knows that.

There is no grey. Only black and white, good and evil, yes and no, 1 or 0, true or false. Because that’s how the world works! Right?

5. Mortar shell phase is certainly strong and sadly depends on RNG (positions)

7. The time after killing the boss is really weird. It’s a race of: “Press F and don’t die or get stunned”. Having to change your skills so you can LOOT better seems a little bit dumb. It’s also weird having to do that after you killed a huge boss. You have won!… but not entirely. I think they should increase the timer and add good loot for killing the enemies. Maybe have events like “Kill all enemies in the area” that grand loot similiar to ~3 noxious pods? Encourage people to kill the mobs and “work as a team for even more loot”.

Why I think HoT failed

Neox.3497

At the moment I wouldn’t consider it at all, and I will never pre purchase from them again. The fact they even mention another xpac at this point makes me ill.

Yeah I know, my first thought was “well aren’t you gonna finish hoT first?” I mean they haven’t even released 25% of the new legendaries, WvW is a mess, only 1 Stronghold map released… Not even gonna mention raids…

Creating expansion takes years. They started working on HoT right after the main game release. You know, company like ArenaNet has many teams and each works on something else. From what I have read about the balance between regular updates and expansions, I understand that we should expect new story update every 4-6 weeks and that way we can go kill another dragon in 2 years instead of 3. I think that is nice….

I think you failed. You have zero data, yet you are making a big claims.

If you really think they started working on HoT right after the main game release something must be wrong with you. The first HoT map wasn’t finished in the first betas and some dev said that quite a lot of the stuff in the HoT trailer (shown late January 2015 – 9 months before release) was mostly placeholder stuff.

It really feels like they started on the expansion about the time when they worked on LS2. So a little bit over a year dev time.

Yes its our fault we trusted anet not to take our money and lock us out of what we paid for, shame on us,wont happen again.

“Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™, introduces the ultimate challenge: our first raid, which is made up of three distinct raid wings. Raids are 10-player, instanced, elite dungeon content that’s a challenge unlike anything we’ve previously released in Guild Wars 2. These raids are meant to put you and your teammates to the test and challenge you to grow your skills as Guild Wars 2 players. Raids are our answer to what skilled PvE players have to look forward to at endgame—the ultimate test to overcome and defeat.”

https://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com/game/raids

Well… however I have to agree that this one is quite far fetched:

“Bring the professions you love to play into our raids. They take advantage of our innovative, fluid combat roles, so you can tackle the content with parties of any composition. Bring your friends together and experiment with your builds to take on the bosses and encounters inside the raids.”

The problem with designing content that only 1% -5% can do is that the other 95%-99% payed for it.And on this planet that just dont work.People just dont/wont pay for other peoples entertainment.

They payed for the expansion not the raid alone. They also said raids is part of the expansion and very hard.

Oh and if you buy something you don’t like or is too hard for you it’s your fault.

I remember someone suggesting that racial skills could be specializations for each profession and you start with the one of your race.

Then you can learn the ‘racial specialization’ of other races by doing some “quests” for them.

With that they could certainly buff all the recial skills since everybody would be able to use them.

As I already said once, there are multiple simple fixes to jumping puzzles.

- Disallow gliding near jumping puzzles
- Add a start to each jumping puzzle which you have interact with or trigger which disables flying and gives you a buff. You need the buff to open the chest at the end
- Make jumping puzzles ‘similiar’ to adventures

And looking at recent “changes” to older farm methods (for example key farm) I could imagine that they might disallow looting the chest if you haven’t done the jumping puzzle earlier. Meaning parking alts at the end of jps wouldn’t work anymore.

Don’t you just love how many people claim that their subjective opinions are objective and that the entire game should be completely changed because “a lot of people agree” these days?

Yeah because things that make no sense and just have bad design shouldn’t be changed.

The fractal change was totally thoughtless:

Why do players do fractals?
-> Because of the reward.
How do you get the reward?
-> By doing the daily fractal achievements.
Players take the fastest way to get the daily + Swamp and molten boss are the fastest fractals
-> Oh look, 95% of all fractal runs are swamp and molten boss! What a surprise!

PvP leauge rank “abusing” is a total joke and broken. I can’t see how anyone would say that’s objectivly good unless you want to support unfairness in the game.

There are just so many small and even big problems that just shouldn’t be there.

I also had problem 3 sometimes and rarely problem 2. It was still quite annoying but I got it at the end.

I would say the time for gold should be lower by about 3-5 seconds and it would be more reasonable.

But I’m not sure who tested some of the adventures anyway. For example getting gold on Haywire Punch-o-Matic Battle is impossible and that after more than 2 months. (Or is there some sort of secret we all missed?)

The fractals update was a fluke, nothing has changed and nothing will change either, wvw is the next thing that gets some attention and after that we might hear something maybe, depends on how much they effed up at fixing wvw!

But we got this new totally not broken system! You can do sinlge fractals this means now you ONLY have to do Swampland! Well okay, 7x times swamp and two non-swamp if you want to get all daily chests. But isn’t that great!?
