I heard about something called “achiev or kick” in wow, wouldn’t want this here.

That used to happen sometimes, but it’s no different to the “Experienced Only” posts you get now, rather say up front then get kicked part way through because you died.

Is there anywhere I can watch the live feed that I missed yesterday?

A bit more transparency of the players your pugging would be nice, so that you could view a players setup/achievements etc. like you can in WoW.

This can tell you a lot about a player. I know that this can also be a bad thing and cause more discrimination thou.

i.e. how many times they have Dc’ed / Rage quit would be nice too.

anyone know where i can get a catchup of this live feed? as i missed it.

I agree with you on picking the best setup, who wouldnt, but its NOT a must, its imposible to tell if anyone has a clue when you pug a group,

I had a pug group other day with 2 guards (clueless guards) we wiped over and over.

Don’t get me wrong guards are very useful in dungeons but NOT a must in fractals upto level 30.

Did 30 daily last night with 2 mesmers, 1 ele, 1 ranger and a thief.

Not a problem at all, if you must NEED heavy in your group your obviously hiding behind them :P

Please guards/warriors I do love you in my group thou, not discriminating against anyone, quite the opposite tbh.

I would rather have 5 players of any race in my group that know what they’re doing over a setup that looks good on paper.

In PvP and WvW they can do what they want, PvE leave it alone.

Will there ever be a way of crafting or transmutation that allows you to swap out stats that are useless to your build, I would like to experiment with my build and fine tune.

Currently your limited to 3 set stats? why not a new transmutation gem that allows swapping out one of the 3 for something more useful.

To be honest with this set i was experimenting with a little balancing of HP and DPS as cheaply as possible, thus this set really is random TP cheap armour with some nice transmutation skins (for the vanity P. )

I just purchased the cheapest stuff with stats stated above V/T/C/P. the only consistent thing here was the Super rune of nightmare (5/6) and Super rune of Grenth (1/6).

Personally I think the 6th stat of most runes are very gimmicky and usually a wasted stat, so I usually change one.

To be honest I’m not near happy with this setup, that’s why I’m asking for advice, going to do a bit of goggling too on Crit and toughness

I don’t have problems with skipping if given warning before hand, chance to change my skill set around for example. Like I said I had never done that dungeon before and didn’t know what to expect.

A little constructive advice would have been all I needed, but as soon as people start being rude and acting like they have never died there before, I can’t be arsed with dumb people like that!!

I still go back and run low level fractals, and constructively help people new to the fractals, not by being a jerk instead I’m patient and help them understand how to do it the easy way.

My own personal experience with skipping outside of fractals put me off doing dungeons. It was late at night and not many people where online, I was begged to help in one of the explorer modes (cant remember which dungeon), but anyways I agreed and told the group I had no experience with that dungeon other than story mode.

All was going great until we came to the first mob and someone said “Skip” in group, all of a sudden they all run for it and left me behind. So I gave it a go and got killed, respawned and got killed again.

Then came the moaning, “You’re supposed to run past them”, “haven’t you done this before?” Errrrr no like I said at the start. Then more moaning “this is going to take ages” etc etc, well anyway the party was rude and one left shortly after, and of course I got the blame.

Anyway that was my experience of dungeons, and my reply now is “NO THANKS”

Got kicked for the 12+ time today on fractals dungeon (lvl 26 (was kicked 6 times b4 lvl 3)), not from being kicked by players, but kicked by the dungeon. First, one guy got kicked just as we were starting the dredge frak. He’s obv unhappy so he decides to leave the party in an effort to not accidentally kick us all. Everything else is going smooth after that. Get all door open, clear the mobs, get the door open, clear the mobs and kill the boss, get the door open, clear the mobs, get boss to 50% hp then everybody gets kicked.

Why is this still a problem 3 months after release of the dungeon. If you want to do a quick band-aid over this problem, make it so after every time a player gets dced by the frak, they gain a token (different from the one exchanged for rings) that can be used to exchange for a fractal weapon skin. I’d be happy with that even though I’m still losing out on the maw mobs and that chest/daily. Whole reason I was redoing 26 was for a chance at a skin so make that an option and I won’t get so kitten when that happens.

lol. i see your frustration, iv had this several times my self, but getting a reward for dc’ing is never going to happen, if it did everyone in the world would suddenly be getting mass internet problems :P

Dc’ing in most (but not all) cases is becuase the person has a crap internet connection, as in WOW you get punished for such thing, not rewarded.

Please do something against exploiters (eg ban them). People already take using exploits for granted and its starting to get hard to find groups who do not want to take part in such business.
Like just I was in a lvl 26 fractal group and the group insisted on using at least 5 exploits I noticed.
And other people in my guild are doing silly stuff like skipping giganticus lupicus with portal cannons.

I think at this stage a ban is a little extream for most minor exploits, a better option would be to fix them maybe.

Hi all, anyone that runs daily fractals with me knows I can hold my own, with +30ar and experience I don’t go down too often.

Anyway my question is about how much HP would people recommend a mesmer needs in fractals currently daily 26/30. I have a few builds/sets that very from 22k upto 25k+ HP.

My current setup is Toughness, Vitality, Condition Damage & Power where possible, I play mainly with staff. I use food and tuning crystals for vit and condition damage too.

Anyway do I have too much HP for a Mesmer (thinking that Agony for instance is based on your base HP), could some of this be better used for more DPS??

If so, what stats would you change, is crit of any use with condition damage for example?

Agreed, since last patch I’ve done the trash 4-5 times and got almost no drops in whole group. 100% nerfed don’t listen to the fanboys go with what we all know, ArenaNet nerf stuff in every one of their trivial patches. Just like the last super critical patch they force on us for 3 small bugs fixes, whatever.

Only stupid people can’t see though there trivial patch notes.

Why do we all kid ourselves, we all know the difference between and small help and an exploit, but everyone differs somewhat on where to draw the line.

I think using spykits and such is perfectly normal and acceptable, but I don’t think porting through walls or to the end boss is acceptable. Somewhere between these two examples is where I draw the line at what I’m happy with doing.

Other people draw the line a lot shorter and think that invisibility/spykits are an exploit. On the other hand some people think it’s perfectly ok to skip directly to the end of a dungeon to exploit the tokens because this is Arena.Nets faulty for not fixing it.

Only Arena.Net can decide on where these aids become an exploit and remove/nerf them in due time.

Who are we to question the morals of others, I say do what your happy with doing, don’t be forced to do something you think is wrong!!

As the OP stated, most of us have used dungeon exploits (and I use this term lightly, one person’s exploit Is another person’s solution to a problem), if the other 4 in the dungeon want to use an exploit I just go along with it. It just causes too much tension in the group if you’re the odd one out and refuse.

I’ve completed probably 450+ fractals to date with random pug groups, I’ve not yet once come across a group that has not used every known bug/exploit. You’re probably thinking that I’m part of the problem by saying this, but it’s just become the norm to use every available tool (exploit/workaround) to complete these higher level fractals.

Arena.Net are usually very quick to fix these so called exploits, so until they do and force everyone to complete these dungeons correctly then everyone is just going to use them.

If Arena.Net was so quick to fix the many problems, bugs and bad design (in parts) in some of these fractals many people would not seek to exploit them. Maybe if they didn’t rush them in the first place and correctly beta tested them, a lot of these so called exploits would not exist.

All being said, I must admit I really enjoy the fractals and 99% of the pugs I play with, even when someone shows me a new exploit its kind of fun to see what crazy thing someone learned to do this time?.

For the love of good game design, remove Spy Kits from the game! Its a crutch for bad players. If you absolutely need stealth to beat a dungeon there is something wrong there.

So lets remove thief and mesmer abilty to go stealth too whilst we at it? and any ability or aid that makes any dungeon easy/faster? i like your thinking.

yes at 14 you can do 2 daily chest, any even 2-8 counts as one, any even 10-14 will count as your second

That is not true. Spy kit drops your aggro. You are being hit by attacks fired off before your aggro was dropped.

Spy kit is more for dropping aggro while ressing, dredge is not the sole use for it.

then it was a bug when the dude on the console got attacked by dredge that spawned while he was invisible? I’ll know that for the future then and report such things as bugs

If the spykit didn’t work as intended then yes it’s a bug, i don’t believe that using spykits in a dungeon is in any way an exploit, they give us tools to use, so we use them.

If they don’t work then it’s a bug, report it :P.

I also don’t see the need to remove spykits from the game or nerf them, i can see why they are not allowed in PvP/WvW but in dungeons they are ok, and still need some skill to be used correctly.

confused as to what stats you ACTUALY want? if not PVT why use that as an example instead of saying what stats you want?

My personal issue with this fractal, during the last stage before the boss with the two sides, when the mobs don’t reset after a wipe, every so often on high level runs we wipe on this part, and as most people know when you got full mobs on both sides, this part becomes very difficult if not impossible for some pug groups. After a wipe why don’t they reset to 2 each side.

On the subject of being stuck in the cage, this has happened to me once, but I’ve also seen the other side of the bug where the boss locks himself in the cage, easy kill :P

in fractals you can do perfectly fine without. Also in the dredge level if you’re invisible on the console dredge that spawn there will still attack you so it’s better for the people on the buttons to be visible and attract more aggro to themselves off the person on the console.

Other people tell me this, but I know from personal experience this is not true, I never get agro on the console even with mobs spawning/standing next to me. I’m a mesmer and once the control panel door is open, I use mass invisibility to get in and use spykits to open door, simple as. If others have spykits and know what they are doing this stage can be completed in less than 1 minute with no deaths. After that all or most of the mobs despawn.

Same as opening the door with them gun things, this can be done alone or with 2/3 people with spykits, kill the last 3 mobs and take the gun things, the others run back out the way. This way AOE don’t get you because you’re all invisible. Again after door is down they despawn.

Spykits make some fractals so much easier and faster.

Spy Kits are wonderful and improve my gaming experience in dungeons in pretty much every way. They also give me something to actually spend Karma on, which is wonderful, since there’s nothing else really worth it. I sure hope they don’t nerf / remove them.

Anyone doing fractals, do your self/team a favour and buy lots of spykits.

10 seconds of invisibility (last for as long as your supply)

This item is sold by Kyra Sharptracker, a heart NPC in the Plains of Ashford for 28 karma. (bottom left of map if I remember correctly).

Very useful on Dredge fractal (door/plates) and other fractals for many things including rezzing of dead members for example.

Also can be used in all aspects of PVE, use them, learn them.

I agree with salvageable, forgeable and maybe sellable for rings and back peices, but i think the weapons should be earned in the fractals only.

Being able to swap like-for-like with other players would be a nice option too, weapon for a weapon, ring for a ring etc. I have rings/weapons no use to my class.

yup i was wondering where my fractal chest loot had gone, relics and token from chest gone too. does this mean i can do/have to do daily again???? what rubish, bad situations get worse in this game.

seems to me that we all bugged during LA/WvW load screen, we are all probably still bugged/logged in somewhere on a server, and that’s causing confusion for the GW network/client

The irony of this situations is that maybe they will think twice about forcing unnecessary trivial patches in this way in the future?.

It’s Christmas Eve/Christmas Day you just finished working your butt off fixing/nerfing bugs/exploits because thats what your boss told you to do.

Would you then sit around and write out a full patch note, or would you go home to your family ?

The fact that Anet are working hard on improvements is great but i can see problems with the new levelling system.

Con – A level 1 pug with no Agony Resist or clue joining a level 20 group isn’t going to work

Con – A level 1 pug says that he/she is level 18 to join a level 20 pug.

Pro – Great if this level 1 player is an alt that does have good AR and knowledge.

Pro – Great if this is a guild run and you’re all prepared to suffer the consequences of the level gaps

Idea – Party window should show each players level and AR.

Also – Not sure if they are working on this but a party finder of some sort, preferably with filters.

Also – Cross world fractals without the need for overflows, after 1-2 am it’s not possible.

Anyways this is not a moan, I’m very happy with any improvements they make to this fractal system. Just my ideas on the subject.

Only want to play this for the achievement which is going to be very hard.

OK OK, With above in mind, I just tried again. After finaly finding a game at the start we did this very easy, all dolyaks had 98% life at end, lowest they got was around 60%.

Build snow wall around the entire inner circle first, worked for us

2 cliffside and valcano, well at lvl 20+ this is the two you get 90% of the time :P.

Sorry for rant guys, I’ve calmed down a little now.

I’m just frustrated at the amount of time wasted doing lvl 20 daily. This cliffside pops up and we either restart or try for half hour and then restart, and before long people start to leave group.

You find another group and repeat.

Also what’s with the amount of Agony taken in this fractal compared to others, it’s like you have no agony resist at all.

Sticking to lvl 10 daily until this is sorted

Come on guys, Cliffside is kitten at lvl 20+, broken or intentional I don’t know.

But what I do know, it’s nowhere near 1 in 8 chance of getting it randomly. More like one in 3 or 4.

Past 20 fractals iv done (or attempted) iv have cliffside selected at least 8 times, and everyone one i talk to says the same thing. Im not going to waste hours of my life so you guys can gather data. Fix it and stop forcing this crap on us.

glad you can get to the last boss, past 3 groups at lvl 20/22 cant get past the stage before because of the stupid amount of mobs someone always dies. Im a mesmer (+15 ar) and usually have no problem with this fractal before patching. But i can honestly see why some people wont pug anyone but heavy classes.

I’ve just about had it with 20+ fractals for now. Sticking to 10-18 daily.
