I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
I’m looking forward to the gem store item to recreate the effect.
Risks, sure. Having random decisions from the Big Brother change the balance of things, sry, feels unjustified.
Unjustified? Because , you know, we’ve never seen all the other special dye packs rotate in and out of the Black Lion Chests. Oh no, this is just unprecedented.
I think the new set of legendaries , not being Sold on the TP (wtf were they thinking?), will be far more prestigious than the current batch ever were.
There are 3-4 pieces of unobtainable armor that would nicely compliment the gear I wear now…
…But what I really want is the Destroyer Scythe skin for my staff!!
Annoyingly I had a piece I had unlocked taken from me – the ‘guild’ heavy boots are NOT the same as the ‘banded’ boots and they vanished from the wardrobe altogether…
So many fun shots to get with these effects … here are some without the arms-wide part. A few of a watchknight, and one to prove that raptors can fly (thanks, Teq jump pads!).
Nice composition with the watchknight. Very Metropolis.
Swallowed: One Hook, Line, & Sinker.
So everyone who had a tag in our BL tonight decided to tag up and we spent most of the night RPing famous squadrons. Guilds ran in formations and aviation experts/ air force players did their best to provide us with the proper terms to use. Songs such as Flight of the Valkyries were played in comms and people quoted movies such as Top Gun.
Good for you!!
Way to take the joke and run (fly) with it.
Been there all along. It turns on a ton of sub-settings. You’ll see all kinds of amazing stuff after the event is over if you’ve never used it before.
Turn on “postprocessing” in your graphics options.
Seemed like a good time to pull out my wings .
this funny only first 10 min
If you were only having fun for 10 minutes you didn’t nearly think hard enough about how this interacts with some of the emotes/skills in the game…
It’s The Trollplane
That sir, is undoubtedly a Gremlin. They eat planes…
We had a TON of fun tonight.
Nice use in various frames. That looks like a happy couple. I love that it changes your character’s expression.
The rarely seen Norn Fire Dance:
Its gonna take a lot longer than 30 minutes for this to get old for me .
And another.
I know that the characters will smile while dancing, but I’d like to be able to set a ‘mood’ without it being a tonic/transformation. Please? Pretty please with cash sprinkled on top?
Holy heck! For the first time ever my (non-Sylvari) characters don’t look like they’ve been drugged into a stupor.
I WILL PAY GEMS FOR THE ABILITY TO USE THIS EXPRESSION (without the airplane pose).
Check it out:
2. Movie grain (sepia overlay)
- Options > Graphic Options > Postprocessing > None (Low remove the sephia but keeps the the grain)
Good catch. I was wondering why I didn’t seeing the sepia effect – I normally run with that turned off.
Each person should be assigned a random 2 classes per day to do their daily with. This would solve all issues with class stacking.
The complaining about how unfair that is would literally NEVER stop.
Wow. my Necro loves fighting Engis. I’m loaded with Wells and they syphon health… a mass of turrets is about the best thing that can happen .
Psychological studies carried out by Riot on hundreds of thousands of games has shown that giving all the malcontents 2-3 hour flood control for the next week or three works vastly better than bans or shutdowns.
The best medicine is laughter.
The healing properties of seething contempt are highly underrated.
We just had a string of terrible plane crashes, including one last week. How does something so insensitive slip through?
Why aren’t you harassing your government to suspend all air travel? People might, you know, look up and be offended. No really, my question is at least as serious as yours.
The German forums, where people apparently had family members affected by this tragedy, are really upset: https://forum-de.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Un-gl-cklicher-Aprilscherz.
If they really are family members, they were ALREADY “really upset” for reasons that have nothing to do with an MMO they apparently logged into while still waiting to bury their kin. And I feel for them. But this parroting BS you are doing? No sympathy whatsoever.

That’s how dark it gets.
It’s. Sooooo. Edgy!
Ooooooo. Aaahhhhhh!
Pear skin for staff? Wut? That’s obviously much better as an engie bomb skin.
New “fruit themed” hobo-sack confirmed!
(That’s a cute graphic you made )
ok ima stop looking at the forums again for awhile cause people are stupid and stupid makes my eyes bleed!
They make an ointment for that. You should stock up.
You’re gonna need it if you plan to continue living on this planet.
You know, without nails, it’s not really much of a crucifixion. Its more like… aerobics.
I’m pretty confident the people who have ACTUALLY had a family tragedy in the last week have more pressing affairs to attend to than playing an MMO and storming around an online game forum spraying righteous indignation like foam from a rabid dog’s mouth.
Obsessing on the trivial, much?
And this site
…
Claims that it will be released on New Years Eve this year.
Just as a desperate fan, are these numbers and dates anywhere near to accurate?
I encourage you to engage your brain and THINK. New Years eve, such an interesting day… almost as if its the LAST POSSIBLE DAY they could list that ends with the year 2015.
No. It’s not accurate.
I am completely hype-fatigued and have been for about two weeks.
When the said, “hey we’re gonna talk about the WvW borderlands maps some more!” I snapped. I like WvW and I should care but until they get out and talk about a process that’s going to affect play and gearing of every single character I have I really don’t give a pile of skrit poo about anything else they have to say. Not even the arrival of the Revenant has a fraction of the importance of dealing with the future of my stable of characters I’m already invested in.
The legendary stuff was cute- the culmination of plans they’ve been sitting on for 2+ years and actually new info. The map rewards sounds promising although the info on it is so thin people are inhaling the vapors and hallucinating “It’ll solve it so much” despite having some warning about new acquisition paths from John Smith that line up with the new system quite neatly…
Specializations. Doesn’t have to be 100% final product, but they need to talk examples and themes NOW.
Good news indeed. I’ve seen the poor choices that went into the original personal story climax run players out of the game. I’ll have to let a few people know that only 3 years later this has finally been fixed.
SW needed to be reworked for that to work, 1 AOE at the very first second when u pull that skill, and they are dead.
The would be an “All pets in the game (except for warrior banners…)” problem, not just a spirit weapons problem. Hopefully it’s a problem they’ll fix all at once, and not just one set of summons/pets at a time…
I have 5 guardians on my account (two 80s) and I don’t regret it one bit .
The revenant is conceptually cool, has appealing FX, and its class lead is the same guy who defended the somewhat noticeably over performing Warrior class from the rest of the Balance Team for years, so you can expect Revenants will be the new “golden child”/“just a bit too strong and get away with it” profession.
Honestly I’d wait to decide until we know more about what they are doing to update (all) the old profession with the new tech they’ve developed and learn what the specializations actually do. Then pick a class to commit to deeply.
There’s just not enough cards showing yet to make that important of a decision in haste.
Remember players define OP as “ah , man, one of those beat me. Twice!”
ArenaNet defines OP as “out of 250,000 encounters, profession N is over performing by 12%”…
The people who make the decisions to actually change a profession live in an entirely different frame of reference than the people posting here.
Nice thread
This is my bulky Asuran thief, feedback would be appreciated.
I would try a few other types of boots – looking for something where the texture is a little less noisy. Otherwise its good stuff (and time to lock up the silverware )
After reading the title and the original post, all I keep thinking is ‘The Silverwastes have a really cool punch line… but I don’t think you actually understand the joke at all.’
I often run around in a support build in WvW throwing heals and radiating regen either with banners of battle presence. Some professions and builds can lay down a lot of their contribution passively (like full turret engis) and thus can deliver some or even most of their contribution while the human-controlled element of the package can peel of and rez (though good triage means always helping the downed before the defeated).
There’s also a pretty wide range value for of traits that trigger through reviving. The guardian revive trait protective reviver doles out enough benefits I’ll actually carry it in scenarios where I expect my side to take a bit of a drubbing. The Thief stealth on revive is also strong enough to cross the threshold of plausibility. But none of the other professions have wowed me enough to make me consider slotting theirs over other adept choices.
But you’d be amazed how many times this thread has been here…
Yes, but given we’re on the internet and the natural disposition to be confrontational particularly in regards to contentious subjects such as these the fact alone that people have been universality polite might indicate that they’re very possibly editing themselves to conform to ingrained ideas of politeness.
Which in itself should be considered AMAZING, don’t you think ? As you say, the internet is not usually referred to as ‘a hotbed of civility and restraint’…
And much like the courage mentioned here – Acting politely is still Being polite no matter why you’re doing it. Life is filled with cases where you can “fake it ’til you make it.”
The most logical guess is that the precursors will get cheaper… but the overall journey from nothing to finished legendary will cost pretty much the same. Or maybe a bit more as there will be a ton more people competing for those necessary non-precursor elements.
Every single major release has added more ways to get AP. Some permanent, some transient. Just counting how many days worth of the 10-point dailies it would take is silly. Especially since the total points you can amass from dailies are capped (at 15k, but still…).
No, lets tell them that while there are a couple of ways functionality could be added (like an optional check box to display a simple percentage in the center of the bar) cluttering up the display for everyone is an idea that can go die in a fire at the bottom of a well. And there’s no worse clutter that markers for things that don’t matter except in a few corner cases. Most creatures don’t have phases and most skills don’t care in the slightest what the target’s HP are at.
GW2 to is at heart a casual game and the minimalist UI reflects that. That’s not an accident and its actually harder to pull off than to flag every nitpicking detail every second.
Both are fun to play for me and both apparently have some utility in groups.
Which one has the higher damage capability?
I really wish people asking these sorts of thing would specify AoE or single-target. They’re two entirely different questions…
So you can see when the bosses hit 75, 50, and 25%.
Dunno why this isn’t a thing already…
I think it’s fascinating that there are evidently people who aren’t neurologically wired to spot “half” and “half of a half” by eyeballing it. That kind of visual approximation would seem like sort of a critical life skill to me.
So how many of these division do we really need/want? Some flags also flip at 90% and 33%…
Not all of us can tell the difference between 50% and 51% like you.
I suggest switching to decaff if you think ANYTHING in this game is so tough that you need to change up your rotation 1/8th of a second after it becomes extra vulnerable to Heartseeker…
I expect to talk to my class trainer.
Soon? Probably not.
Eventually? Absolutely.
And really, the whole point of releasing the black ones first was there are many people who will take what they can get while waiting for white wings. The white ones are pretty much INEVITABLE.
(Personally, I hope they also release some in more natural tan-gold tones)
I assume these changes will be retroactive of course?
You’re assuming this because you believe the system is holding a record of the exact composition of every single battle roster you’ve been a part of for the last few weeks?
Could be, but somehow I doubt the system is documenting tens of thousands of matches with the precision of a major league baseball season.
Is this some kinda backhanded slight to the larger base of players?
Get over yourself.
