^Taking crappy conjures is nowhere near the same as having an actual weapon swap, so don’t even compare the two. Ele is forced to take certain utilities just to survive, so we don’t have the option of taking the conjures even if we wanted to for anything serious. Mesmers DO have the option of swappign weapons. If they choose not to have another weapon that does something besides cheesily spam even more conditions, that’s on them.
I think it’s too weak. they should reduce the threshold to 75%. So sorry you necros cant effortlessly kill us anymore. Atleast we stand a chance against conditions now. Without something like this there’s zero an ele can do against a condition necro. You’re just dead in 2 seconds. And a necro who isnt braindead can still kill an ele. 1 lifeblast even on a pure condi build will take us below the threshold, then you can go back to your mindless condition spamming. This is a L2P issue.
Making this usable while moving would be great. Its sooo slow right now a person would have to be afk or stupid for you to effectively use it against them. It just needs to come out a tiny bit faster and be usable by moving. And i mean come on, its not like i’m going to outrun anyone while wielding a hammer anyway. Has no movement skills on it and guards are pretty slow to begin with.
Celestial is what i’m going for. You can use your jewlery to make up for whatever your build is lacking. Rings and crap are easy and inexpensive to get anyway.
elemental attunement should be inherent to the class but only affect the elementalist. Just give us a trait at master that makes it affect other people. I’d never use it since im alone most of the time and only care about keeping myself alive. But it would be nice to have the option. And I’ve said this many times before. The only reason most people take EA is for the water dodge. easy way to fix this. Combine the water dodge with stop drop and roll, a trait no one ever uses, and add frozen ground to evasive arcana. I’d probably still take EA though because frozen ground is amazing for control. but this would open up more build options atleast.

It wasn’t nerfed actually. You can still stack stealth. So permastealth thieves actually were buffed in this patch. they have the benefit of faster initiative regen and can spam stealth even more than they could before now. I personally dislike using stealth and use a stealthless thief, but for testing purposes I tried it out. You CAN still stack stealth. they changed nothing. Wait to go anet on making the most annoying trolls in the game even more annoying.
what does this look like? haven’t had the chance to get in game yet and see. can anyone link a pic?
I actually love it. I dove into a group of people and got a full heal. The best part is they were stupid enough to all attack me again when I activated it a 2nd time. Killed all 5 of them. I for one love the new heal.
and once again everyone is forced back into the classic d/d bunker spec in anets pathetic attempt to promote build diversity by nerfing lesser used builds into the ground.
I died horribly trying to use this crappy skill. I can see a use for it in dungeons, but that’s about it. Oh and diamond skin sucks too, as I knew it would. 1 auto attack even from a pure condi build will make it ineffective. youd have to just sit there and do nothing but heal in order for it to be effective. pure cleric bunkers could use it, but its useless to anyone else.
i’ll use it for pve, but I don’t see this replacing ether renewal in anything serious. the damage and heal is horrible. and if I need an extra blast finisher THAT badly, there are far better options than wasting a heal for it.
The only thing I like about it so far, is the animation. It is really beautiful. But just like most ele skills, it looks good, but is pretty mediocre.
^ Actually if you’ve seen all the anet tag guys running around in game, 90% of them are asuran warriors, the rest are necros. I’ve also seen 1 Mesmer and 1 spirit ranger. Not 1 single ele. Not even once since the game started. And I’ve looked. Unless they all hide in towers or for some reason the devs who play ele NEVER put on their anet tag, I’m convinced that not a single one of them has ever touched the class. It would make my day if I could see 1 ele with an anet tag running around by himself so I can kill him over and over with my warrior and show him how OP warrior is and how incredibly weak ele is.

Making it stack at all was a mistake. It was annoying enough before they made it stackable.
I got an ascended ring once, and it was actually one with useful stats. Nothing but blues and greens ever since.
I’d use it if they combined it with rock solid and moved it to master.
A revert on all our unjustified nerfs since beta. Combine geomancer’s freedom and earth’s embrace, move them down to adept. Combine rock solid with the new diamond skin, move it to master. New gm earth trait similar to fresh air that activates whenever we cause bleeding on a foe that also causes all bleeds we apply to add torment as well. Make elemental attunement inherent to the class and replace it with a skill that gives auras on attunement. Make arcane line give boon duration and aura duration, reduce base attunement cooldown to 9 seconds. combine stop,drop, and roll with the cleansing wave from evasive arcana and replace the cleansing wave in evasive arcana with frozen ground. Oh, and finally fix arcane abatement so it works in water attunement. It’s never worked even once since the game started.

is a 2% increase in precision transferred to healing (from 5% to 7%) perceivable? Can it even increase our crit chance by 1%?
Why not 10% instead of 7%? Would that be so OP that it would break the game balance like warrior hammer did for 2 months?The numbers are a standard for all professions….
Will diamond skin take effect if you are hit by a 7k hit that inflicts bleeds? Because if it doesn’t then they have just made another bad useless trait.
I find its one of the worst trait design i ever seen in this game:
-totally counters a SINGLE build
-promotes passive playstyle
-Totally useless against anything else thus won t be used….
-requires balance via nerfing across the board, negatively impacting ANY build not using a GRANDMASTER trait extremely situational and on a suboptimal line for eles.Imho diamond skin will be a total fiasco….
Ask yourself…would you build an ele to win against necro and lose to anything else?

Diamond skin would be ok as a master trait, it’s unworthy of being a GM trait. Speaking of our earth traits, a lot of them are sub par. Geomancer’s freedom for example. Warrior has a better version of that at adept level, wtf? Combine it with earth’s embrace and move it down to adept. Diamond skin should be combined with rock solid and moved to master. That would actually make it worth going into earth.
I’d really like to get a dev response on this. When can we expect a revert on RTL? Admit you made a mistake and fix it already!
I don’t get why they’re nerfing the damage. that was never the problem. Its the insane amount of cc. It would have been better to nerf all the cc and leave the damage. But I guess Anet wants to make it a pure control weapon. The fact is, no class has enough dodges, stunbreaks, or stability to escape all the cc hammer puts out on relatively low cooldowns. They will run out of ways to avoid the damage quickly and you will kill them eventually. That was the problem with it. They’re nerfing the wrong thing. Damage doesn’t need to be toned down, cooldowns for the cc should be increased and duration of the effects should be reduced. Then it would be fine. I agree with Zach, people WILL still complain. Its because they aren’t doing anything to address the real issue with the hammer.

I’m wondering if this will negate damage from legendary defenders in WvW, They don’t just outright kill you, they just deal really, really high damage that 1 shots you. I’m wondering if I could pop this and run right into an enemy spawn. I know you already can with other things, but this will just give me one more thing to troll my opponents with. Pop this stance, run into their spawn, dance a bit, pop endure pain, rush out, swap to s/shield, run out and laugh at them.
I’d rather have the warrior’s new heal. A second endure pain that freaking heals you for more, the more people you have beating on you! Wtf were they thinking giving the already super OP warrior something like that?

The new heal benefits dagger eles a lot.
In a world where conditions don’t exist. It’s not good enough to replace ether renewal. The damage is crap and the heal isn’t good unless you’re zerging and hitting multiple targets. . They should have just made it do a base heal of like 8k and remove a condition for each enemy hit. And make it do as much damage as arcane wave does now. That would be worth using.
Unless you’re a pve player, or a staff zergling, we’re getting nerfed hard in this patch, just like with every patch. Big surprise there. Have you seen mesmers new heal compared to our crappy new one? And they’re nerfing arcane wave just for this crappy new heal that no one will ever use except for staff zerglings. Anet just wants ele to be a buffbot and only use staff. That’s why D/D gets nerfed so hard in every single patch.
I gave up on them at about 20 I think. the annoying toxic crap from pve made it not worth doing. I really hate those things and can’t wait for them to leave. Never put crap like this in WvW again Anet, no one likes it!
I was expecting it to be better. Don’t know why when this is ele we’re talking about. Doesn’t work the way I had hoped it would. I guess it will be ok for pve stuff or hiding with a staff for the extra blast finisher. And blah, they nerfed arcane wave. Why make it ground targeting now? It’s good the way it is now where I can just instantly cast it in a group of people for burst damage.
I for one am glad the rewards were crap. Being on a server that rarely ever had a queue before was great. Getting stuck waiting because of all the pve achievement hunters who don’t give a flying crap about wvw otherwise, and have never once stepped foot inside it before leagues started, sucked. I hated the extra people wasting supplies and being nothing more than rally bait for the enemies. Hopefully now that all the pvers know the rewards suck, there will be less of them next season.
All the mobility means is that they can get out of a fight quickly. There’s nothing OP about running away.
As a warrior player I don’t particularly fear GS warriors. If it’s a 1 on 1 I’m much more worried about hammer/mace-shield or Longbow/ sw-swEven dual axes are more worrisome. GS relies upon the enemy being bad or having poor reactions (outside of 100B, is there anything to it?)
Its funny how people say “running away isn’t OP” when it concerns warriors, but when D/D ele used to do that which had nowhere near the survivability and damage output that warrior has now, everyone screamed and cried like little children that it was OP and demanded nerfs. Now we have a 40 sec cooldown.
^I get where you’re coming from, but I’m still hopeful it will be somewhat useful. We’ll just have to wait and see I suppose. It would be nice if it works the way I’m hoping it will.
I for one welcome a new arcane skill, which will tie extremely nicely into my current arcane repertoire. Only concern is I lose the super-wonderful condition cleansing of ether renewal.
Oh god, just had an awesome impression of an Elite Arcane skill, like an ARCANE BEAM LASER from above, heh.

This sounds really interesting. Im thinking of a burst ele build that uses 30 in earth to take care of conditions when we get that new trait, plus this healing skill. Rushing into a group of people while immune to conditions and dealing huge AoE burst damage while keeping myself healed. * drools *…..Maybe I shouldn’t get my hopes up too much. What are the chances they’d give us something that’s actually good? It will probably be lackluster like everything else about ele.

They should have just unnerfed mesmers and left it at that. These runes make warriors, thieves, and engies better confusion spammers than Mesmer ever was. I’d rather they get rid of the runes from the game, remove them from everyone who has them, and unnerf mesmers. I hated fighting against mesmers in the past when they could spam confusion a lot, but I’d welcome that back with open arms if it meant being rid of these horrid runes.
Again, you’re making excuses. I have several alts as well. I got enough Ascended gear for my main and i’m now going to start gearing up my alts. I don’t zerg, I roam. But I also pay attention to map chat and if they say “were taking the enemy’s keep, we need everyone here!” I go there to get the dragonite. Like the other guys said, there is really no excuse at all why anyone in WvW can’t get several ascended weapons fairly easily. I’ve done it, so can you. If you really wanted the weapons, you’d make the effort to get them. Do you want them to just fall in your lap as soon as you enter one of the battlegrounds?

I doubt it will be any harder to get than ascended weapons. I have 6 already purely from doing stuff in WvW. If you’ve been collecting all that crap since they introduced ascended weapons, you should have more than enough by now to make several weapons. I rarely do anything in PvE except when a friend wants me to do an occasional fractal with them. And I’m really, really lazy when it comes to crafting and grinding for gear. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it.
I don’t zerg. I still don’t have my first weapon. But I suppose that’s my choice of play. I just really dislike zerging, and if the gear is gotten the same way, I likely will never get it
I don’t zerg either. i’m roaming solo or with my guild most of the time. and my guild is only like 5 people. You just have to pay attention to map chat. when someone says they’re taking a tower, run over and get in on it. that’s what I do.
That’s the biggest hold up for me.
I dont mind the grind to 500 crafting.
I dont mind the grind/gold sink for mats.
I dont mind the time gated materials.I HATE that I’m forced to by more transmutation stones to keep the look of the gear I spent hundreds of gold already on.
Wah you one of the luckiest players then. I can’t afford crafting to 500. I can’t afford buying materials. I don’t have tons of time-gated materials. Oh yes, in case you didn’t notice, I’m a WvW player.
I’m primarily a WvW player aside from the occasional fractal that friends drag me along on and I managed to craft 6 ascended weapons so far. Flip camps and keeps. its really not as hard to get that stuff as some people seem to think it is. And if you walk around all the borderlands, you can mine and chop the majority of the crafting materials you need because for some odd reason the ascended stuff requires a lot of low level crafting materials. Just wander by yourself and kill stuff. And pay attention to map chat so you know when your side is flipping something so you can run over and get in on it. you don’t have to follow them around constantly, just pay attention to what they’re doing and get in on it when they flip keeps. That’s really the best advice I can give if you’re like me and don’t have the patience to do events in pve waiting for some boss to spawn.
^ I think that’s something all wvwers can agree on regarless of whether you like the idea of ascended gear or not. Badges are useless right now and something needs to be done with them. Make it for an obscene amount of badges if you have to, I don’t care. They should just remove all the other costs from gear in wvw and make it pure badges. I had about 20k at one point but wasted a lot of them getting gear for alts and trying out different builds and am back down to like 5k right now. I know a few people nearing 100k in badges. Im glad this crap doesn’t take up inventory space anymore atleast but come on Anet, do something with them!
Being able to upgrade it through the mystic forge like how the triforge pendant was, would be pretty nice. But I doubt they’ll do something sensible like that and we’ll most likely have to grind out the whole armor set and just salvage the exotic version.
That’s precisely why I bought some transmutation stones while they were on sale. I like my current look and want to keep it. I’d only keep the original skin if it didn’t look so horrible and glowed like the weapons glow. I love glowy stuff.
Ascended weapons from crafting were incredibly easy to get. You really don’t need to venture out from the world of WvW to get the stuff… And crafting to 500 doesn’t take that long. I’ve got enough dragonite in the bank to make 5 pieces of armor – I think. – when it finally launches, and I got it all from WvW, and that’s the hardest part to get. I think by disagreeing with Ascended armor we are essentially drawing a line in the sand against crafting. Ascended trinkets already drop in WvW from lords and chests, its just slower than crafting.

Another whine thread from someone from SBI. This is getting pretty funny now. You guys really cant take losing after facerolling over other small servers all season can you?
Can’t wait for ez-mode nerf when they fix hammer stun. Maybe people will switch from the friggin cheese builds and actually play their class.
They are just lowering the damage, not the CC output. So, all they will have to do is add a few more hammer warriors to get the damage back up with the added bonus of being able to spam even more stunz!
Yeah, I really don’t understand Anet’s line of thinking. The damage was never the problem, it was the stunning. That’s what everyone had the problem with. I don’t know why they didn’t just keep the damage but increase the cooldown and lower the duration of the stun. But that would have made sense, and this is Anet we’re talking about.
I hope they do plan on boosting it. I never bothered buying one because I prefer to just use stones and make mystic salvage kits. But if they plan on making it better, i’ll definitely buy 1 for atleast 1 of my characters.

If you think it’s bad, you’re using it wrong. Can’t tell you how many times it’s helped me secure a kill on someone who otherwise would have gotten away.
It’s not about using it wrong. A target can be running away from you on perfectly flat ground with no obstructions and your character will pass through the target or not reach it at all. Sometimes, the target is still knocked down but he’s actually not even near you which lets him just stand up ruining your combo.
I’m pretty sure that latency is the main reason that bullscharge fails so hard in WvW.
Hmm, that’s never happened to me. It could very well be lag. I could see how annoying that would be though.
I still say you should be able to click on it and detonate it, much like the ice wall thing we have on trident. Detonating it would then cause the cripple and damage. Maybe add an immobilize to it as well..
I’d rather have an elite version of glyph of storms. As for lightning flash, they either need to increase the damage and range, or put the stunbreaker back on. Either way, the cooldown needs to be reduced, its still too long.
Every other MMO gives rewards/exp/etc for support. I don’t get why this one doesn’t. You SHOULD get loot if all you do is hang back and heal because you’re keeping your team alive.
