Sadly, yes, it might. I play the game almost exclusively for WvW. Sure, I venture into PvE sometimes because rewards in WvW are lacking, but the removal of WvW very well might cause my departure despite having been in GW2 since launch.
And for clarification, the proposed changes are indeed the REMOVAL of WvW. The maps may be re-used, and many of the mechanics as well, but WvW will be removed and replaced with GvG. I have no interest in GvG. I do have an interest in WvW. GvG is not fun for me, WvW is. If a game does not provide fun for me, I have no reason to play or spend money on it.

Like I said before in a different thread, if they implements this megaserver thing in WvW, this game mode will lose lot of its loyal players (few that are left anyway). WvW is already in a dire state atm with the introduction of s**t BL/autoupgrades/added PvE stuffs. Now if the rumor is true then it will definitely be the final nail in the coffin.
This thread is the second best in this subforum after the “gf left me cuz of ladderboard” one.
The funny thing is that, with pets like smokescale and elite spec like druid, this topic was never more relevant than now.

The reason, I think, why Anet is delaying the balance patch is probably they’re trying to sell out as many HoT copies as possible by advertising the OP specs and rev.
Warriors take discipline for 2 traits:
1) Fast hands obviously
2) Warrior’s sprint – Not only it provides the 25% boost which is must for warrs to be in melee range to be effective but also immob removal via movement skills.
I really wish the old maps were back permanently with tweaks here and there. Its no coincidence that during primetime EBG is the first one to be queued…lol

I think its situational. A thief’s SR (ability to mass stealth) used to skip things in dungeons was unmatched back in the day. Warriors are definitely in a better position in PvE. In PvP though, both are crap and arguably warriors are worse. The least a daredevil can do is annoy the kitten outta other players with their dodging capability whereas a berserker will drop like a fly after the first 4 seconds of endure pain.
I wish the devs weren’t so vague about their plans/intentions and atleast give some hints :P

The problem with warrior is that in top competitive level, any warrior build you can think of, there’s a class that will do it better, so no point in taking a warrior.

The GW1 system was a bit better. A GW1 dragon rank was extremely rare, and you could not obtain it by losing. In GW2 someone can reach dragon rank by losing every match. So rank means nothing. As far as title. Play long enough, win or lose, and you can get every title. A bit lame. Just put the yakslapper title up, its the only true title of greatness.
After 23rd October patch, almost everyone and their pet has Yakslapper title lol…
I don’t feel anyone should be penalized for transferring like not getting bonus chest or something. Instead, players should be rewarded for staying loyal in times of need for the server. The longer the player stays on a server the chest contents (all chests, not just the rankups) improves gradually. This resets to default value when the player transfers and so on.
Regarding titles and achievements, I am a casual PvX’er and almost all of my achievements are done. I can very well imagine the hardcore WvW’ers will have everything done already.Why not add more tiers to the existing achievements for the hardcore players with bonus rewards and APs? For eg. You get 56 AP and the title “Yakslapper” for killing 2.5k yaks. If someone finished this, a new set unlocks with several tiers that goes upto 10k kills and awards another title, say for instance “Master Yakslapper”.

Berzerker/Warrior – This is the biggest one I see the Elite Spec being better than the base warrior, as it really seems to be, both from facing and playing.
I disagree 100%. Strength/Defense/Discipline Rampage warrior will wreck any Berserker provided the players are more or less equally skilled. Just take Signet of might and run rampage, berserker will fall before it can get to T3 adrenaline level.
This also highlights a major problem with the warrior regarding the class’ sustainability. 4 sec of endure pain on a 60 CD isn’t gonna help with the constant burst of some classes (or rather elite specs).

I disagree with the GS #3 becoming a block – an evade is much more useful in my opinion since blocks can still benefit the opponent – and in some situations blocks can be broken through.
I also disagree with the ideas that want to nerf GS and PS – Warrior is weak in both PVE and this combo is the only think that makes warrior viable in PvE.
If you really want something – why not add might generating traits to other weapons and trait lines?

Evade is equivalent to being invulnerable for the duration whereas blocking is not. Given how many unlockable skills are there, it will be HUFE nerf to GS #3.

Adding ICD to Forceful Greatsword will kill the warrior’s ability to stack might, the only thing they were useful for in PvE.
I realize there’s the “We need to buff all other weapons” notion. It’s in another thread. GS/PS is pretty strong, yes, and it’s warrior’s only notable build choice that isn’t Berserker/Gunflame/Shoutbow. Therefore, cling to its brokenness.
Rather, if all weapons to generate Might by moving Might-on-crit to Phalanx Strength, it opens up damage and support for them. Why, a hammer in a group could do something audacious like damage! no wai.
Or, whirlly-axe could stack, like, 15+ might for his whole party and..
Now we see why no-ICD is broken. Normalizing gains would keep one weapon from being too clearly overpowered.So, keep a (very simple omgstopcomplaingabout one second) ICD, make it 2 stacks of Might and increase the duration to 8-10 seconds. That’d probably make Phalanx Strength overpowered, but it’s a step in the right direction for damage and support.
I don’t run tactics in open world PvE or when doing solo content, so moving the might on crit from the GS to PS (despite the all weapons change) would hurt all solo players who run pure DPS builds (str/arms/disc or zerker)
Like other posters said, if Alacrity affects initiative regeneration then chill should reduce initiative regeneration as well and this change will nerf thieves since only 1 class (that too a spec) has access to alacrity while a bunch of classes have access to chill.
I think they need to nerf GS. So other weapons wouldn’t be so bad on its Back ground.
You can consider it as a buff to all other weapons.
Greatsword as a weapon isn’t so overpowered. Hundred Blades is a self-root, which leaves the warrior vulnerable, and in most PvP play, easy to dodge. High damage is the reward. Otherwise, it has decent mobility, if the whee-evade on whirlwind on a fleeing warrior means anything.
The “problem” with Greatsword is that its traits are too good, and thus required to be competitive with other classes. Forceful Greatsword and Phalanx Strength need redesigns to shift power/support to other weapons. Pull Might on crit from Forceful Greatsword, put it on Phalanx Strength. (If no internal cooldown, we’ll end up seeing a lot of whirlwindy off-hand axe users, but ICD will make QQ.)
Totally Agree, they need to redesign Phalanx and add it to Defense Tree instead of Thick Skin, and then Redesign FG might on Critical, and move it to Strength Grand master trait line, so you ll be forced to choose what you want 30 % damage for yourself or 6 sec on might with ICD.
Plus to that i think Warriors Flaming Flurry should be nerfed, because it’s just unfair that Warriors now can be so OP with burning, why Warrior is able to pull out so much of kitten burning, compared to Ele, or Burn guardian, it’s just stupidly broken, need to reduce amount of Burning it applies. 4 would be nice i guess. Not a single skill in the game should apply 8 stacks of burning.
Gunflame is too strong need to be nerfed, to make other weapon choices viable.
Axe auto attack chain should be nerfed to be honest, because it’s kittenly OP right now, it just ruins everything, this auto attack have the highest DPS among all warrior weapons skills.
That will open alot of possible choices for warrior, for example, Bow/Rifle, Mace/Axe.
And THEN i ll open a salt mine for you kitten PVErs.

I haven’t read all of it (yet) but regarding the server pride area, I suggest that a player should be rewarded (either with incentives or titles/AP) for staying loyal to particular server whether its going up or going down like a sinking ship. It will help the bandwagoning which usually happens just before a season to some extent.

First would be to fix the bugs of the following skills:
Rush
Bull’s Charge
Savage Leap
Eviscerate ( a kittening burst skill >.< )
These skills doesn’t hit 50% of the time on intended target even if they are well within the intended range…disgusting
Second would be to UNDO the adrenaline nerf (including Cleansing Ire)
From warrior’s view, everything is op as kitten. DH as well.

weirdly I found that m/sh hybrid berserker is nuts vs necros. only because they have no stunbreaks and are slow AF.

Same in the NA Pro matches where there were couple of thieves and NO warriors lol
The bottomline is that if a warrior specs for such high damage (traits with all dmg modifiers + scholar rune, etc) he has basically ZERO defensive skills and very low armor (since its a zerk build). If the gunflame misses, in that case, he is doomed. So its a high risk-high reward build which is not at all viable in PvP, more like a troll build.
Imagine 5 rifle warriors team against 5 Reapers/DHs/Scrapper team in a match. The warriors will be eaten, chewed and digested alive before they realize this sort of gimmick builds aren’t for serious competitive gameplay.

Try this – It worked for me (32 bit users)
No crashes so far after doing it.
For all 32bit OS there’s probably a solution:
- run Command Prompt as administrator
- run this command: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072
- restart your computer and play GW2I was able to play HOT content without any crash after this. And I don’t have to use the lowest graphic settings.

For 32 bit users, the game is UNPLAYABLE. Crashing every 5 mins or so EVERYWHERE including PvP.
This seems to be what they wanted. Where they either want you to upgrade your system to 64bit to use their new client or kitten off. Since this has been an issue since HoT launched, it just has been made worse with this new patch.
If I am not wrong, many 64 bit client users are facing this problem along with mac users. So we (32 bit users) aren’t alone but definitely the worst victim
Seriously, I hope they don’t release anymore content if they make rest of the game unplayable…

Same here. Core was stable and it seemed like HoT was getting better, now this. Every 5 minutes or less.
It wasn’t getting any better for the 32 bit users. Same kittening crash everyday, but seldom in non HoT areas but yesterday’s patch killed it. I was barely able to do dailies today and logged after whining for a bit in LA Map chat out of frustration…
I wish they’d rather fix the kittening bugs than releasing new contents (yay, more bugs).
OOM crashes was never a thing before the 23rd patch but now (especially after yesterday’s patch), its making the game unplayable. I’m a 32 bit user and the gaming experience since HoT released has deteriorated exponentially….
AFAIK, few ppl I know are facing crashes in the 64 bit as well….lol so its not only us (the 32 bit users)
Can’t play today – Before yesterday’s patch, would crash regularly in HOT areas so I avoided it and would crash seldom in non HoT areas like SW BUT now it is just UNPLAYABLE. Crashing every 2-3 mins….

Passive defense, offense and team support up the wazoo. More immunities than other professions. The hardest hitting stunlock build in the game. Enough mobility to match Thief’s. I could go on.
