Added explorable multiplayer variant (unlocked if you defeat Canach).
Added new single-player instance for the culmination of the story.”

Haven’t done the explorable dungeon, yet. Only the Story Mode. Don’t know if you guys talk about both or if you only made the Story Mode till now.

I for myself like the Southsun-Story. My character helps Kiel to investigate, cause Kiel has other things to do. Quite logical to me. I for myself don’t want to be the hero. My characters want to be important in another way not because they are the mightiest.

I can’t understand why there are people who are standing in an extremely dangerous area and are akitten (away from keyboard, ok forum? -.-) for hours. And the next day he was there, too. On exact the same place and akitten like the other day… and of course with no clothes on, cause people rezzed him. Why? Maybe some kind of experiment to see how many people will rezz someone with no clothes on? Can’t understand it.

You and every other player in the game, I suppose. When EVERYone is such powerful, as you, then you are only one unimportant guy like all the others, cause you are no hero (or maybe antihero), you are only one among many. Similar to GW2 and other games. With the exception that it’s more realistic in GW2.

Interesting, I wonder why it didn’t go into fast health regen once you got out of combat.

Maybe because veteran karka have two phases. When they lost their armour and are in the next phase they can’t go back to the first and so it’s no problem when you go out of combat. Between these phases you come up from downed modus, too.

If you disable textile, you can see the * and the word which is written between them. It will not be formatted by Textile.

The achievement should stick around, so when you reach level 75 you should be able to munch on it and get the achievement point. I don’t foresee Owain giving up on making omelettes.

I’m currently still working on my ability to see the future, but know that if other devs intend to change those things and break the achievement, I will fight tooth and nail for it to not be touched.

Besides… At 28th there are new achievements available (the ones about Canach). Then she can finish the 25 achievements without eating that omelett.

The first part of the event is until 28th this month. On this day the second part starts and the third starts at 5th of June. Don’t know when the achievements of the first part will stop being available.

To know something like this it would help to read the official announcements. Or the sticky here in this forum-section.

You can play the game… with that you find gold and can buy the transmutation stones. Or you complete maps and have the luck to get some. That doesn’t change the fact that THAT is GW. To collect the skins you want and do what you have to, to transmute it to your armour.
If that would be a 5-minute-easy-walk you wouldn’t have to PLAY the game.
Or do you want to just log-in and buy the skin you want and then log-out because you have nothing else to do?

Some people don’t understand that GW2 is exactly that: A game in which you don’t hunt for the best equip but collect skins you want.
That was clear from the beginnig. I don’t get it that there are still people who mention this as a “problem” of the game. It’s not. It’s like GW was since GW1.

In my opinion Southsun IS not easy and I, too, die alot. But it’s fun now that there are so many people back now. In the months between the november-event and the beginning of this event I had no reason to go back there and that was a pity. Now it’s a lot of more fun even if it’s hard to survive. But there is action and people are helping each other. That’s really cool, I think.
Only the draken are too frustrating with their extremely aggressive confusion.

But if someone doesn’t like Southsun: Just don’t go there. The world is big enough. Some people don’t even KNOW that Southsun was an explorable Area till this event.

Besides… there are people who like the NPCs and the Story Telling there. You can see it on the other threads.

But a short novel about what happened with Canach since he started his work at the Consortium till now would be great. Seems to me that it’s an very interesting story.

Yes, he really wants his revenge and his ways are wrong cause they endanger the ones he wanted to help. But he is not the cold killer, I believe. He could have killed Blingg after he got the information he wanted. But he hadn’t.
And killing a team of assassins who wanted to kill him is not bad after all. Just my opinion.
That he is not the sanest character is clear. But maybe that can be “healed”.

No. Subdirector Null is a golem. The one Canach stole from Blingg. So this is no sign of siding with Canach. But it’s my hope that Canach won’t die, cause we have to capture him and not to defeat him in the achievement like the golem.

I don’t think it has different endings. I think that Hrouda meant, that the ending of the event is different and not the dungeon, cause the OP of the other thread asked if “Southsun will end in a dungeon”. And the answer was “the ending is different”.

Ok the errors i found with the story are listed below.

1: Sylvari glow in the dark, why wouldnt he be visible.
2: Previous pictures of Canach has him using a Sword and Shield, meaning he’s a Warrior or a Guardian. Neither of those two professions know how daggers work.

Sylvari only glow at night. The exception being CoF, where apparently it’s always night time there. This story takes place in the day time. Daylight streams in through the door as he leaves.

Rytlock uses a sword mainhand and a pistol in his offhand, and is supposed to be a warrior. Warriors can’t use pistols. NPCs are allowed to break the rules.

You haven’t read, that Henge said that it was a joke, do you?
Besides that… this is the line: “The door to Blingg’s hovel opened and waning daylight streamed in.” It’s “waning daylight” so it’s evening. Don’t know when sylvari in lore start to glow, but my sylvari starts glowing at evening and the glowing increases when it went night.

Collectable Storybooks could have all this in there, and include the same content as the emails we currently get for Living Story releases.

Heck, put the Personal Story a storybook and the Personal Story tab on the Hero panel a bookshelf and we’ve got a pretty well rounded system.

That really would be a good idea. (I for myself collect every story-email I got – or I collect the ones of the events who are still in my email and wheren’t deleted automatically.)
In RIFT, there are collectible books with interesting stories, too. There you have a tab on the Hero panel which says “books” and there are all the books you’ve found and added to this collection by double-clicking on the book. On this tab you can re-read every book you collected every time you want by just clicking on them. And they often have more than one page.
Would be nice to have something like that in GW2, too.

I like the way you are thinking... I thought the same. He (please!) has to be a recurring character which we can visit (or as for me: stalk) as often as we want. *g* And IF he has to go to prison than to that in the Grove.

I believe that, too, cause without the sampling after the JP, you can only get the 25 achievements with crab toss or the new achievements. They belong together so I think you can still do them.

I would really like it to see Canach in the new Destinys Edge. But I don’t think he will be the sylvari there. Why I think that?
Rox and Braham (and Kasmeer, too) have unique faces which players can’t copy for their own characters. Like the faces of the old Destinys Edge-members. But Canach has a face of the editor. Could be easily copied by us. (Maybe I should give it a try. *grin*)
So even if I really think it would be cool to have him as an DE-member (and he is a male sylvari which fits) I don’t believe he will get the job.

WE have to use the editor to design our sylvari-characters, but not the designers of the game. Would have been more work to change his old face so that THIS face would have looked more "rude and scarred", but it would have been better, I think.

It made me consider him a higher priority threat to be honest. I’m not a big fan of severing heads and sending them in bags so better finish him before. Of course Noll is villanious too as he’s sending grunts to kill him, but Canach isn’t good either, they’re both bad guys trying to get the upperhand from a situation. Canach is playing hero of the weak but I think this is out of spite and revenge and he probably has his own agenda here. The way he acts during the conversation with Blingg (moving in shadows during a conversation, whispering on his ear, setting fires to show things, sending bags with severed heads, showing a weapon to threat with taking his head too...) is closer to crazy psychotic than Robin Hood like hero of the weak.

But he is not completely evil! You guys have no clue... *pout*

But I’m not completely satisfied with that explanation. Ok, that he changed is clear, but THAT radical? Even his eyes are completely different. And his nose and… You see what I mean. Maybe the paler skincolour and the “hair” and the thorns in his face… that would be logical. But in my opinion these changes are too extreme.

Doesn’t sound like he looks different than before. Seems to be that Canachs old face was not “cold” enough and that’s the reason for the change, not a story-reason. In my opinion every face can look cold, so this is no argument.
(I have a sylvari-RP-character who is a cold and dangerous member of a pirate-crew. He has Canachs old face, too. And he looks very harmless. But believe me: He ist not. I like it that he is underestimated.)

I think it is new. I was irritated when I first found it, cause I couldn’t remember to saw it there before. And there are new dialogues on the Cove. Think the story moves on…

I couldn’t remember Amaranda to tell the truth (at least didn’t remember her being noted as a secondborn), and Laranthir has about as much character as any other vigil crusader. But the two secondborn with a good deal of history (even if it’s in the making) are turning out to be less than reputable. I’m counting Canach as shady because the Fervid Censer does say that he used the device to spread wildlife aggravating toxins on southsun cove, it doesn’t sound unintentional if he’s using some sort of device.

Amaranda is in the personal story where you met Malyck – the sylvari of the other tree. You meet her when you go to her to investigate where Malyck comes from.
And I don’t think that Laranthir has no character. Ever talked to him? I think he is a nice guy. But he seems to be sad cause he searched his whole life for love and never found it. I feel pity of him.
And for Canach… In the announcement is written that he wanted to “free the new settlers from exploitation by The Consortium”. That’s not really bad, isn’t it? But his ways are wrong and he obviously made mistakes. But maybe in the end we can convince him to help with better plans? I hope so…

And we only know four secondborn. We don’t even know how much of them are there. But I believe there are some others and I don’t think they are all bad.

And you know that because of one secondborn-sylvari (out of 4 that we currently know) who is the founder of the Nightmare Court? Very weak argument.

Secondborn we know are Amaranda (a seer with a strong connection to the Dream – the opposite of a nightmare-character), Laranthir (who is second-in-command of the vigil), Cadeyrn (the founder of the Court) and Canach (and we can’t currently tell what’s with him).

This and the fact that the sylvari on the screenshot has Canachs sword and shield in his hands leads me to the conclusion that it’s Canach on the screenshot.

But I hope they will change this and give him his old appearance back.

He is just doing it in a not-so-good manner… I wish we could choose to help him, or maybe help him find another way to do it…

Exactly what I think. I really wish we could choose to help him! Especially my sylvari characters. They would never think of him as all evil and they would help him.

I’m a role player and my major RP-character is a male sylvari who was some month ago at an execution of a sylvari in divinitys reach. The sylvari had to die cause he was a member of an organisation which killed a lot of humans in the city because they thought they could free the sylvari like this. (Don’t know their exact reasons.) But even if this sylvari belonged to an evil organisation… my sylvari was so shocked to see him die and had so much pity on him that he cried a whole week.
So what do you think he would do if he hears about a secondborn who made some mistakes and is now hunted by the lionguard? He would want to help him so that what he witnessed would never happen again! And it’s a pity that we don’t have this option. Until now we only had dialogue-options in which we can tell Kiel how we want to help her against this bad sylvari. And I think that’s not right.

Someone in another thread said that we know that the personal nemesis is a woman. Don’t know where he got the information from.

I don’t believe that Canach turned to nightmare. He had no reason for that. He is against the consortium not the dream. (Or he was – don’t know if he is now against the dream, but I don’t think so.)
