To this day, there are people that have never seen Invincible from WoTLK, and they’ve been in the game since WoTLK, and doing ICC at every chance.
Oh really? Because Invincible was a guaranteed drop if you defeated the final boss, the Lich King on heroic 25 man. Every person in my raid obtain one, even new recruits. It dropped one per week, guaranteed and it was split amongst a raid of 25 people. After the level cap was raised to 85, the mount’s drop rate was significantly reduced because it could now solo the raid.
So yeah, not sure what your point is. If they were in the game since WoTLK, this is irrelevant if they weren’t actually doing heroic Lich King on 25 man.
The sodium levels of some of these replies would be most lethal if consumed.
What about Dragon’s Tooth? That ability ignores line of sight, people use it to eliminate all siege inside using zoom hacks, and people have been doing this for years.
What I believe is one of the main culprits:
Do you experience this latency everywhere? I don’t mean constantly, but have you experienced this latency in all aspects of the game? Open world, fractals, dungeons, sPvP, WvW? I don’t know exactly how their server infrastructure is built, maybe they have less resources dedicated to some aspects of the game? This is a lot of assumption; sorry. I just remember something happening similar to this where I lagged horribly and consistently in some Terra online dungeons, but never with others. I heard it was how their servers were built. I just remember that some IPs had more latency than others for me In Guild Wars 2.
Sorry to hear about your lag. There’s nothing more frustrating than dealing with that, especially when you are doing unforgiving things like soloing content.
Why would they tell you how it works? It’ll just let people game the system.
The sad part is the only time in which my lag is tolerable enough to actively play atm is at night when everybody is sleeping. Then for some reason this level 3 communication doesn’t give me 70-100% packet loss
I don’t know if you have tried this yet, but have you tried a routing service? Try WTFast for one month, and see if this resolves the issue. It does cost a little bit of money, but you will be all to figure out if this is the problem. If it does, it means that the problem is communication between your ISP and the servers for Guild Wars 2. If this is the case, this is a very frustrating problem because neither your ISP or ArenaNet will assume responsibility for it, because they can’t do anything about it. The problem is the data centers in between the two. I had this problem a few years ago when I played World of Warcraft; it was usually due to poor maintenance during intense heat or summer. There is no way to contact the companies that are charged with maintaining these data centers. I eventually just got a new ISP.
If everything else with your Internet works fine, this is probably what’s going on.
Thanks for replying to us, Robert! I actually thought the Necromancer changes overall were really good and are a lot more fun to play compared to their old version. I am looking forward to any new changes.
Do anyone else agree that this is ruining the fun in two of the major aspects of PvE?
no
It isn’t valid. He says, “When anyone sees an advertisement to sell last boss of FoTM, please join this group and keep abandoning them till they give up and try to recruit a proper team member to complete the instance or 4 man it themselves.”
Just because someone is selling a dungeon it doesn’t mean that they have scammed someone out of it. He’s saying to join any and all groups that are trying to sell the last boss of fractals.
I’m going to take this opportunity to hijack this thread for another community effort:
Reports velmeister.4187 to exploits@arena.net. Post simply that he is organizing an effort to grief dungeons and fractals on the live forums and link this thread.
In case the thread gets deleted or he edits it, just link this archive I have made of it:
Even though it might not do anything, you should report his brazen attempt at griefing to exploits@arena.net. I’ve achived its contents here in case he deletes or edits it.
(Link)
Are you really this stupid? Selling dungeons is not against the rules.
(Link)
There is no vagueness to this. It’s what was said word for word.
Hi everyone,
Just posting to inform you all that selling dungeon runs its NOT against the rules. People are free to do so.
If you join a group just to grief them though, you are breaking the rules, and abusing the LFG.
Why should the map cater to servers who are completely non-participatory in WvW? I especially ask this when the solutions often come to the detriment to servers actually are playing the map.
Let's have 3 different borderlands instead

Anyone who says “bring back the Orbs” definitely doesn’t remember (or never knew in the first place) why they were removed to begin with.
I just read in another thread we won’t get to fight Mordremoth in this expansion?!?
Well if you read it on the Internet somewhere, then it has to be true.
After more than 2 years some professions are still broken
Ok… which? I hope you have more than one since you said “some” professions are still broken.
If they don’t include Season 2 somehow, just expect the story of Season 3 to be watered down a lot and less of a direct continuation so that it doesn’t confuse people who haven’t played it.
Just NO….
Honestly, I am getting tired of people wanting things for free.
This might surprise you, but it was already free before.
I don’t think Guardian shouts have a target limit at the moment, or at least that limit is bigger than 5 targets. (Or even 10)

The Inherent Flaw in the Entitlement Argument
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Nokaru.7831
OP you are spot on, well said. Entitlement has become a crutch to use against any critical argument and it doesn’t hold here.
Just like how “morals” and “justice” have become the crutch of people trying to make mountains out of molehills.
The only “communication issue” is that the player response to anything they don’t like even remotely is just disgraceful and revolting.
Its not about money…
No, it is about the money. Stop making excuses and pretending you’re fighting for justice and morality; it’s just embarrassing.
The deal can be better. Duh? Is the response at all in line with this? No; it’s not.
Meanwhile you choose to ignore that people are losing 700 stats from traitlines. Not just that… those where stats you got to choose (at least to some degree). Your 400 are spread out evenly, so given any one build you’re getting a ton of worthless stats.
Meanwhile, you failed to read the patch notes and noticed they are baked into the gear. Sigh
I know… it’s hard to fully digest all the information ArenaNet is giving out, and it’s much easier to just jerk your knee to pound out rage on the forums.
(Link)
- Base player stats will be increased from 926 to 1000.
- Base attribute points on equipment will be increased so that all the gear in the game will give higher stats than it did before. This should account for most of the missing points.
they don’t communicate. they tell us things they don’t speak to us there is a massive difference between talking at someone and talking to them. any company can make an announcement, but what we need from Anet – now more than ever – is a conversation. speaking, reasoning, explaining. that’s how we overcome misunderstandings and reach compromises.
If they asked the community if they’d rather pay 1 dollar for the expansion or 20 dollars, what would the community say? This proposition is simply idiotic. Everyone is going to want to pay less. Always.
Blizzard didn’t host some vote about whether or not they could increase the price of Warlords of Draenor compared to their other expansions from $40.00 to $50.00. Square Enix didn’t seek the approval of their community for their price tag of Heavensward. They named their price. If you want to play, you have to pay; and they set the rules. Not you.
Where was the community outrage for those games? Where were the headlines? Oh right. It didn’t matter. Their communities were happy to see the next chapter of their game inching closer though! It’s an expansion, and everyone expects to pay money for it. For some reason though, paying money for an expansion is a new source of outrage for the GW2 trolls to latch on to!
“They should have asked us if we wanted to pay money for the expansion.” Why ask? Everyone knows the answer: People want everything for free. Next question?

Why people are mad: Entitlement.
IMO this has a lot to do with the lack of communication between developer and playerbase.
This garbage again? Are you able to cover your eyes with your fingers plugged into your ears, or are you just living under a rock? There’s been nothing but an overwhelming avalanche communication and updates coming from ArenaNet. You guys just didn’t like what you heard.
Is there a part about false advertisment u guys are not getting?
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/False+Advertising
If you don’t like it, then don’t buy it. I want you to understand what a non-threat you, and your ineffective little rage-crusade is: You’re on the forums paid for and maintained by ArenaNet, acting like they’re covering up some scandal. If you were actually “on to something” of significance, they wouldn’t let you do this.
I would advise that in the future that you try thinking a bit before putting to words your incoherent, nonsensical stream of consciousness. However, I know that this advice will be completely lost to the likes of you since you’re blinded by all the red you’re seeing.
Too late. If I were a class action attorney I’d be drooling.
The fact that you drool is a good indication why you’re never going to be smart enough to be an attorney.
The only reason I interjected my opinion about the stats and their amount was that the change is so small that it changes next to nothing.
I’m not disagreeing that obtaining the gear, especially weapons and armor, is annoying for WvW. Personally, I’d rather they just use PvP rules for WvW and be done with it.
Base stats are being increased from 926 to 1000. We have five base stats. You will be potentially much more powerful after the patch than before, regardless of your gear type.
Considering you haven’t played it, I don’t think I’m going to value your opinion on this very highly.
(And ya, I know the movement element).
I hope you also know that a 5% increase in stats is not remotely in the same realm as 10% more damage.
The size of this particular step is relatively unimportant.
That’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it. My opinion is that the size matters, and people should react in proportion with the change. The change is minor and insignificant.; it’s going to increase Ascended’s overall power by 1-2% over Exotic at the most.
Meanwhile, no one talks about a massive change to the game:
- Base attributes at level 80 now scale to 1000 instead of 926
That’s almost +400 more stats. For everyone. Someone in Exotic gear is going to be much more powerful after the patch than they were before. Meanwhile, Ascended Shoulders are gaining something like +2 to all stats. Which change do you think is actually noticeable and significant?
The important part is the direction of this step, because one step follows another.
Ah, the slippery-slope fallacy. You have to demonstrate this hypotentical thing will exist before concluding it’s a problem
(edited by Nokaru.7831)
It’s like 2 more of each stat on each piece of the armor. Once again, the internet will (over)-react before thinking any change through. If you didn’t care enough to get the armor before, you have no reason to care now. Most of the power of Ascended armor is from the weapons and the trinkets.
It’s like 2 more stats on the gear. If you didn’t care before, you have no reason to care now.
It’s like 2 more stats on each piece of gear. Maybe you should explain why this suddenly breaks the game.
“At 99 Power, the game was fine; balance; perfect. At 100? EVERYTHING IS BROKEN!”
I have an idea! How about when people group up in a large zerg, we have nuclear bombs begin to drop on them to wipe them out. Also, maybe we need to have airstrikes also shoot them. And earthquakes.
And sharks. (With these anti-zerg lasers!)
They said in the blog post the break point for conditions doing decent damage is 700, which is 23-24 stacks of Might for someone with 0 Condition Damage. Elementalists have pretty good Burning application, especially with stuff like Burning Speed being multi-hit. One thing to consider is that Condition Duration consumables and rune-set bonuses are over-budget as heck, so it might be worth getting to +100% Condition Duration for Burning at the very least since it’s pretty easy to do so. It might end up being more damage instead of an “equivalent” amount of Power, Precision or Ferocity.
It is the zerker meta. This is what happens when there is a game with no tanks or no healers. There is only damage. Nothing else matters but how fast something can die.
I played WoW for many years, and damage is way more important in that game than Guild Wars 2; even tank damage mattered. I quit after Cataclysm (2-3 years ago), but first kills on bosses were always made by guilds who did it under-geared while dropping healers (2-3 healers in a 25-man raid) and stacking the best damage-dealers in their place. This was at the highest level, by the way; competing for world firsts, etc.

I think it’s funny that people are saying Wildstar’s failure was due to raiding. It failed because it was a bad game. Wildstar failure is nothing compared to the unparalleled, unmatched success of World of Warcraft, whose PvE endgame is based on raiding.
WvW was never supposed to be balanced, so I do not see how these guard stacks or food are any problem at all.
So should they allow consumables like Experimental Rifle to work in World vs. World now? (This item used to work in World vs. World by the way…) Or maybe they should allow Teleport to Friend and Revive Orbs to work in World vs. World too. Because after all, World vs. World was never supposed to be balanced!
You can sing that tune until your face is blue, but the truth is balance does matter to a degree. There is a line drawn whether or not you’re willing to admit it. You’re just upset that these buffs just happened to fall on the other side of this line now.
They also made balance changes with World vs. World in mind. Maybe you didn’t play at launch, but Portal used to not have a target limit. The game mode this change targeted was World vs. World.

I HAVE NO TIME (or I don’t want to) to farm an ascended, the same some players have no time to get WvW ranks.
According to your post history, you have talked about having full Ascended gear. Maybe you forgot… or maybe you’re just here to stir up trouble and troll. I hope I have helped clear up this little miscommunication.
I’m not looking forward to tons of random Revanants displacing piles of monsters out of AoE using Unyielding Anguish. It’s very miserable.
Unyielding Anguish is going to make open world or random pugs really miserable with them teleporting mobs around everywhere randomly.
Their teleport location can be “aimed”, but random Revenants aren’t going to do that. They’re going to just displace big piles of mobs away out of everyone’s AoE. It’s like the ranger longbow knockback but a million times worse.
Don’t mind me. Had to put my cat down today, feelin’ pretty kitteny :-(
Sorry to hear that. I miss my dog still.
And I absolutely dont get it, how you can discuss that much about this topic.
If something is changed, then you’re going to have three camps of people: (1) Indifferent, (2) like the change and (3) dislike the change. When these three camps are giving feedback together, they’re probably not going to agree with one another since their opinions on it are differing. I hope that clears it up for you!
When I did my first kill you guys were still struggling with Risen Thralls in Cursed Shore.
Imagine that.
I wouldn’t have died to Risen Thrall if I could just just use Reckless Dodge to win…
As a Guardian you can use “Retreat!” or Virtue of Courage to give your allies an Aegis if they are running far away and keep attracting her teleport shot. You can also stand in between this shot and your ally.
Good riddance to those buffs. If they want to bring them back, put them in their own WvW Mastery lines… not at the end of a completely irrelevant one.
