Why would one blast finisher be enough? Why would any amount of blast finishers be enough? PS Warrior and eles are the kings of might and fury. Unless necro gets some rediculous amounts of blasts/might, blast finishers don’t really help their viability at all.

Blast finishers also allow Necromancers to help the group stealth in dungeons, or blast water fields in WvW.

I’d have to disagree with that. When they were talking about dungeons before the release of Gw2 they said that the story mode will be accessible but the explorable mode was meant to be challenging and for a highly coordinated group.

That might have been what they aimed for, but they missed the mark by several miles. As undertuned as they are now, they actually were much worse at the start with res-rushing from Waypoints being a thing. I don’t see how any group playing content could have considered any of it difficult unless they were under-leveled in blues and greens.

I like the idea of these changes since they’d be affected by Runes and Traits, and I won’t lose my weapon skills. Would the Signet of Courage heal be reduced to 8s per tick like the Signet of Resolve does when you have the Signet Mastery trait?

Do dead people (not in down state) scale up events ? Is there some kind of ‘inactive’ timer that make them don’t count in the event ? Especially @ Vinewrath. My guess is YES, but i just had an argument with someone saying they don’t count after 20 seconds in the scaling.

I know, nothing to do with dungeon stuff but… People are kind of annoying with this, and if someone have a clear test to show it… Well, you get it.

Nothing official is about it, but it’s been confirmed by Wethospu a year ago that the only thing that matters is being in the event radius. (Alive, downed, or defeated) Here’s a link to the reddit post regarding it. (Link)

You know if that were true, no game company would care about degrees in game design, or work experience in the game industry.

You can have a great content designer have no educational background. It’s more important to know (1) the game, and (2) the tools to build the content. Creativity is much more important than education with that job, because most companies will use different content creation tools that require on the job training. Your degree in software engineering isn’t going to do much if your ignorance of Mesmer Portals or Reflects makes you design trivial, pointless content.

Stacking inside does not prevent the hit. In fact it’s the exact opposite. Pulling him to a corner and everyone stacking inside guarantees everyone to eat the dmg.

I remember the days when 100% of all pugs couldn’t dodge the AoE, and they just ranged Subject Alpha to death over 15 minutes.

This is really the only venue with a chance of the devs actually catching a glimpse and possibly thinking… “Maybe we should do something about this…” and there’s been a pretty lively and in depth discussion with many viewpoints so far. I think it’s been a pretty informative set of threads today.

Here’s what they’re working on: (Heart of Thorns features)

Notice how there’s been no feature of New Dungeons! in any of the expansion bullet-points. Notice how when they revamped the dailies, they didn’t bother re-making any sort of dungeon daily. Any development for dungeons is going to be incidental. (Minimal at best) “Very unlikely” for Hard Mode dungeons. (Link)

You’re just wasting your breath. There is no dungeon team. Who do you expect to “fix” it? Do you even understand the scope of the undertaking required? Everything you said is a really grand case of “easier said than done.” They assigned one of their living world teams to building one new dungeon path, and that took several months presumably. Its success is questionable at best.

Meanwhile, there are bugs that have existed since day one (major blocking issues), and they still aren’t fixed.

Why bother defending the status quo? You can’t say that people are happy with the dungeon design if so many people vehemently write so many posts against it.

Dungeons are easy; you may as well complain that people are “stacking in open world!”

Lightning Hammer needs to retain its high DPS and Dagger needs some trait to justify its use or this will be a serious net loss for the diversity of builds in PvE.

I’m not disagreeing with the assertion that the Lightning Hammer nerf is coming from a place of deep ignorance, but don’t you think though that Lightning Hammer is just a band-aid for how bad the Scepter auto-attacks are?

Where are you getting the extra 70 Ferocity From? Aeromance’s Training is only 150 Ferocity, and Furious Winds is 7% of your healing power of which you will have 0 unless you gear for it. It seems like your math is assuming you have 1,000 Healing Power.

In my opinion, Ferocious Winds needs to be removed (this trait just won’t ever be worth bringing in any game mode, ferocity is just too weak of a stat and healing power has no synergy with it)

Yes, Ferocious Winds is extremely bad. We have 0 Healing Power unless it’s on our gear, so it’s going to do nothing for most players. I wonder how many will take it by mistake.

The dungeon community didn’t design Ice Bow. That’s like saying, “You can thank the Engineer community for this” for the problem with Turret Engineers.

I feel like the desire to nerf Lightning Hammer comes from a place of ignorance, from a player who picks up a Lightning Hammer that isn’t an Elementalist and they think, “Wow this is strong!” It’s only viably used in Scepter/x builds, to fill as the auto-attack of that weapon since Scepter auto-attack is abismal. Piercing Ice is going to be rendered useless if they make Lightning Hammer bad.

There are fundamental flaws with Conjured Weapons in general. They’re meant to be powerful because the Elementalist is giving up 1 Utility slot and all of their weapon skills for this. This means they give up various different Finishers, most of their Fire Fields, and their defensive skills like Obsidian Flesh. The weapon has to make up for losing all of this.

Given the choice, an Elementalist using a Lightning Hammer would make it so that they would use both of them for themselves, because all 50 charges of it can be used within 60 seconds by themselves and it’s important for their Scepter damage rotation.

All I have to say is this: If you think Lightning Hammer is overpowered, then try using those kind of builds in non-faceroll content like Level 50 Fractals on a Berserker Elementalist. Your impression of its “OP’ness” will probably change.

Stat conversion traits:

  • These traits are extremely boring, and with fewer choices it’s even worse than before. Elementalist has two of these (Ferocious Winds: Precision from Healing Power) and Strength of Stone (Power from Toughness) which give one bonus stat from another. Why can’t they do something else that’s interesting in addition to this? The worst thing about Ferocious Winds is that it’s based on Healing Power, which players have none of by default since stats have been decoupled from traits. It has to be part of your gear. It should be based on an attribute we actually have baseline.

Arcana Problems:

  • Arcane Abatement in the Adept line and Arcane Resurrection in the Master line are a really bad choice in their current form. This cuts the “choice” for most Elementalists down to 2 for these first two tiers if your parties doesn’t die and you don’t plan on taking falling damage. If you’re going to keep in these niche and situational traits, they should have additional properties.
  • For Evasive Arcana, I think it could be made baseline in a weaker form that’s tied to Atunements. There should be a trait that improves Evasive Arcana back to its original form still in the Grandmaster. Isn’t the point to encourage more build diversity? Elementalists always take Arcana because of Evasive Arcana, and this doesn’t help Elementalists at all for sPvP build options, it just nerfs them.

Fact of the matter is in any encounter that I know two or more ways to do, if I’m in a pug I ASK people beforehand how this is going to go down. If no one has a plan, then I suggest one.

Fixed! This isn’t about empathy… It’s about people accusing ArenaNet of being insensitive or offensive by just drawing correlations to things that aren’t there. The joke is very directly based on an old bug. (Link) They obviously planned this joke for a while since it has sound effects and post-processing, etc.

I also can’t help but facepalm that something as harmless as flying around as an airplane sputtering, “VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!” is insensitive and offensive. However wielding daggers, rifles and pistols to kill people is perfectly fine. Historically, those are much more dangerous and have hurt many more people than airplanes ever have.

That wiki source is from 2011, and simply is not true. Defeated players do count towards boss events and any creature scaling from an event will immediately scale down once it detects a change in the participating players. (Link)

If 5 people rez someone in 20 seconds you have 6 people back fighting vs 5 people fighting and one person running anything up to 3 – 4 minutes.

Did you forget scaling exists in this game? If there are 15 people dead within range of the boss, like Tequatl, its health is increased to account for them. However, if they simply waypoint away to revive, it will adjust for the new, lower amount of people. There is no DPS loss at all when you do this.

So you see, you’re suggesting that 6 people not dealing damage for 20 seconds is the same or better than 0 damage lost. It’s not.

Furthermore, no waypoint takes 3-4 minutes to run back from.

Please remove/lock

The Thaumanova bug seems to be related to the heat room. Every time I do the heat room, I go invisible afterwards. It seems to be fixable by re-entering the heat room.

I think it is from using the teleport devices to exit the heat room and the cannon room.

What about Elementalist pets, like Earth Elemental or the lesser one? Maybe Clones and Phantasms aren’t the same as those kinds of pets which is why they got overlooked.
