There are only 2 types of people that get mad at turret Engis! The first one is the bad player! Maybe he’s new to PvP! Maybe he’s a veteran but still doesn’t have a good grasp on PvP mechanics! Regardless, as a turret Engi you killed him because he is a bad player and so he will start madtyping!

The other type is the good player! He’s pretty good at PvP, has good mechanical skills and understands where he needs to be at any given moment and why he needs to be there! Unfortunately he got stuck with you, a turret Engi, on his team! Then your team loses because the other team has common sense and play around you and you can’t do anything about it because all you can do is Hip Shot! Then this player will start madtyping!

Of course it’s your game my frand so play however you want to play it whether it’s bad builds, troll builds, meta builds, or whatever! As long as you have fun!

The jungle wurms do seem more plant-like in appearance than the other wurms in the game. It’s possible they’re only “wurms” in the colloquial and/or game mechanics sense.

Just like the Mordrem Wolves, the Jungle Wurms are modeled after the other wurms in Tyria.

At least that is my theory, and it makes perfect sense since ALL mordy’s minions are plant look alikes of some kind or another.

I doubt that the Great Jungle Wurm has nightmare court behind it, however I am pretty sure that Mordy HAS something to do with it.

Just more subtle hints. I do think Mordremoth is the one responsible for the Nightmare but with the Pale Trees protection, all he could do was caress the barrier and hope others would listen. Well done Scarlet, YOU HAD ONE JOB!

I agree that Mordy is most likely responsible for the Nightmare(possibly indirectly), but the nightmare court is not aware of this.

Rangers ARE NOT OP, however the LB2 skill itself is OP.

Hell I hate having Rangers in my party, in most games they bring VERY little contribution except the occasional instakill LB2.

EDIT : Since were talking WvW(my bad) then yeah they can be annoying as fuzz if they catch you with LB2 at massive range and you don’t have damage mitigation.

Get a little higher on the ranking board and you will see how few turret Engi’s there are, I think ive seen 1 in just over 40 games since the reset.
Also, we won that match. And that Engi was not a problem for anyone in my team that i noticed.

While I get that it COULD work, it would not be a “simple” moba, because if you just do it exactly the same, the limited choices in classes and such and also limited progression IN GAME would make it kind of boring.

Could use moba as a template and then move from there. Which is what stronghold SEEMS to be.

Yes guys, turret engi is balanced or even sucks, it’s very hard and skill based, l2p issue etc..

2 of those players on the blue team never played engi before (they had no idea what their skills do). In the end we lost because of a lord rush. It was ROM’s premade, but not the main oRNG roster. We weren’t on TS and they even countercomped by bringing 2 Focus eles (with swirling winds) at the start. After the 3cap denshee rolled engi.

Turret engi has a very low skill floor, obviously. However if you were paired with them that means you must be at a similar level? Since the system recognizes new classes as “new to PvP”.

Also, warriors should have been able to get rid of the turrets no problem. Then watch them all get stomped because of AGE LONG cooldowns.

Sorry, YOU my friend, need to learn to play vs a turret Engi.

If I can do it with a Rabid dual kit condi engi, then you can too.
ESPECIALLY with Power builds.

The meta is subject to change based on adjustments and exploit removal. Mesmer also possesses metric design (reflection was not well thoughout at all when placed into the PvE design, just imagine if retaliation was similarly designed).

At one time the meta was 4 warriors and a mesmer. For all we know due to powercreep the next meta might be 3 revenant, a (insert thief specialization name), and a druid ranger with dual pigs.

However the discussion of PvE is kind of moot point as balance there has/will probably always be subject to being of least concern so long as they continue to balance everything through the filter of conquest spvp.

Again, elitist, BEST time, BEST tool. While using LESS efficient class can still do it, it will just take a little longer.

Not exactly it is more like the dungeon were designed with metric tool sets and so was guardian, while many of the other profession were designed with imperial tool sets. You can eventual find a fit but the metric set does it smoother and is often the ‘right tool for the job’ in the metaphor.

Not quite, Mesmer’s are used for many solo runs of Arah for example and yet they are not part of the dungeon meta. I believe a mesmer holds the record for Giganticus Lupicus time too.

I make about 30Gold a day in CASUAL play only, Ive been PvPing a lot which does not have great rewards, since that is the cost of an episode, you REALLY can not complain.

It isn’t just elitism for the PvE perception. Guardian is popular due to it supportive skill sets, and the fact that for much of the content they designers seem to forget that guardians are great at negating ranged threats (something that I would guess was part of the original design before they were given the option for a 1200 weapon/attack).

As for warrior no much that is funnier than seeing a ‘never-played-anything-other-than-warrior" main trying a different profession. The whole ’what do you mean that attack will down me’ rage as they learn what is and isn’t dangerous.

These “wurms” are actually plants, it was confirmed at some stage. Can not tell you how or when unfortunately.

However since Scarlet kicked of the 3 Headed Jungle Wurm event, its safe to say it is DIRECTLY connected to Mordy.
By extension the Great Jungle Wurm can be connected too. "Gamarien believes its presence there is the result of a “much darker force” "

Turret builds are good. You can decap and cap a point vs many classes with this build in 1v1. And this is why so many people QQ about this build.

In soloQ it is very strong because many players have no idea about rotations.
And some people like to kill other classes even if this is not helpful.

I remember a match where a mesmer was fighting vs the turret engi for 6 min and after he killed him he blamed him in chat and could not understand why he was not the hero.

Or you can just play smart and allow a class with excessive damage mitigation / stability to go in and wreck the turret engi ON point, namely Ranger/Warrior/Engi/Ele.
Turret engi’s are bad, period.

Engineer is my personal favourate, so I am a bit biased here.

Engineer is a pretty difficult class though.

Turret build arnt even good, so the hate is just from people with limited understanding of the game.

Try to get your chance to crit to at least 40%, then the rest being dire stats would work just fine.

Lucky me for starting so soon after reset then, I guess.

ALL classes are PERFECTLY viable in PvE.

The most popular for dungeon runs where some people suffer from the Elitist mentality are as follow :
Guardian
Warrior
Ele

However let me stress this, all classes can PvE just fine.

PvP : Again most classes are viable. However I find that the ranger is the least useful in a team, however if played well, still viable and good.

WvW :
Depends if your running alone or with the blob of 100+ players.

So in short, pick what you want and go from there. Getting a second char to level 80 is easy enough.

Or alternatively you can be more specific as to what you would like to play?

That score matters EXTREMELY little in truth.

Don’t make your disconnections ANETs issue, fix the REAL problem instead of expecting them to change something that does not really need changing.

You`re right in terms of the topic Novuake – it`s Carrion ^^

But in terms of weapon choice I disagree.
The ps combination is not applying enough conditions to justify it in terms of dmg, since the power of the Carrion armulet and the sigill of intelligence give you a good burst dmg, when prybar is on cd.
However the defensive options are more difficult to handle when running a rifle, but you`re output is high enough to compensate the two (long cd !!) blocks.

Since you are relying A LOT more on condi’s to deal damage, shield allows you to BUY that time a lot easier.
If more damage is needed the Pistol/pistol 4 deals crazy high damage, both power and burning.
Even pistol 3 is technically a damage mitigation skill due to blind, on top of that you can reliably get 1 or 2 stacks of extra confusion with it.
Pistol 2 would allow you to swap Sigil of Doom for something more appropriate.

Usually bringing someone from death cheapens their character & death looses impact (just look at Krillin from dbz or the transformers movies Megatron , at least he didn’t die in the last one) . Not to mention if it wasn’t planned ahead of time it could potentially create conflict within the lore/laws in the universe . But if you do plan it ahead and plant some kind of hints before hand it can be awesome.

Zhaitan was a cheap character, about as cheap as they come.

Hmmm bit of a weird stat choice for wvw. You don’t want to mix dire and zerk. Pure zerk with rifle, toolkit, nades. Although you will be squishy as a beast.

Use a rune that gives toughness. Trying to think of one with toughness and condi duration reduction or removal.

Precisely what hamster said, you have very littel condi clear as an Engi and Hoelbrak is essential to keep condis off.

Underwater “corpses” actually arent corpses but models that they placed for the design. There is also a tequatl under straights of devastation.

Tequatl is only one of the minor dragons that happened to take Zhaitans place in a way.

There are MANY with the same design and even size as him, like the one you fight at claw island and also during the story dungeon in Arah. There are also lots of them flying around the Straights.
