Why use Gliders if we have Waypoints in HoT?
This is an obvious attempt to counter the “We don’t need Mounts in GW2 because we have WPs.” argument…..don’t feed the Trolls.
You think? But one can not simply ignore the trolls.
Guardian?
Warrior shouts?
Bunker engi + healing turret?
All very effective healer tanks.
You have very little understanding of the game, my friend.
EDIT : But as already mentioned. FORGOT EVERYTHING you know about MMOs. This is NOT a traditional MMO.

“so long as this isn’t yet another ‘can haz duel plz?’”
My initial thought too…
But cudos. More maps please.!
LET THE POOR THING REST IN PEACE! I will check Arah story EVERY DAY just to make sure his body stays there. OK?
How do you know you won’t be the reason he will be resurrected?
Can I haz control then? Cuz then i WANTS IT!
Novuake, I have nothing against strong female characters, but the game seems unbalanced. And you’re right most of the human characters seem rather weak. This was more of a complaint against how Logan seems virtually useless as well as Jennah and how honestly they need a good epic straight romance. I don’t care if it’s Jennah/Logan or someone else. But I’m missing the Gwen/Kieran and Rurik/Althea.
Jip, let’s just attribute it to human characters being terribly written, shall we.
Well I have been hoping quite intensely to get more fractals covering the original guild wars between the human nations prior to the searing. But if the fractals so easily “corrupt the history”, I guess that idea is out the door.

I really like where engies are at the moment.
I’ve recently palyed with 2 friends who never touched PvP and one of them came to the game after months of inactivity. We were able to
cheesewin our way through pretty much everything with all the CC, turrets, crates, etc. It was disgusting to say the least.By disgusting I mean people who suck against this condi, cc and damage overload. I mean it’s not like others can’t outplay that if they’re good since the game’s balanced and engie=any other class. Yes, that’s right. Obviously.
If anything I can confirm that the healing turret has too high of a cooldown which should be lowered with a possible addition of initial condi removal, because Consume Conditions removes all condis so it’s clearly unfair for engies.
They should just make the Drop of Healing Turret convert all Conditions into Boons, so they will finally have enough condi cleanse to survive in a 4v1
KEKEK much balance, such counter.

If you give engis more condition removal, then engis become even harder than they already are to counter…
Putting healing turret on shorter cooldown would also be buffing their already high level of sustain.
Condi’s are an Engineers main weakness. LEAVE HEALING TURRET AS IS.
Passive procs are bad no matter how strong they are, since there is no counterplay for them.
Condi clear is a thing though.
Not overpowered or broken. Its what the engineer is known for.
If you want to complain, complain about Incendiary Powder.
I agree.
IP should be removed and replaced by new Trait all together with other passive procs.
Increasing the internal CD considerably and MASSIVELY decreasing the duration would be sufficient nerf.
Without thinking twice. Prefereably for around 20$ but I suppose I won’t QQ at 50$, although I would like to..

Hahahaha! Who is this NPC?
This post gave me cancer
I agree that the lack of “upgrading” is what I LIKE about GW2 PvP, I play League too, but this is not League.

So why not Ground Mounts as well now, if we get less Waypoints?
Because its not about travel necessarily. Seriously, watch a replay of the stream.

Maybe the new zones will have minimal WPs. That would be great!

I have enough Tomes of Knowledge thanks>
So…..this is sort of a complaint to ANet about storylines. Especially that of Logan and the Queen. Unlike the original GW game, there is no epic (straight) romance-unless I’m missing something or it’s supposed to be Logan’s obsession with Queen Jennah.
Who treats him pretty much like trash, and a lot of people dislike him for this ‘character flaw.’ Not that I want the human mentor to die, but I think this is the only means for him to redeem himself. (Just to be clear I am NOT a Logan hater, I actually feel sorry for him.) And then the Queen realizes what a fool she’s been. Especially if he dies in her defense. Serve the bloody girl right.
ANet if you read this, just realize there are young female gamers out there, and you don’t have to cater everything to the young male gamer…
Uh…
Actually, ANET has been criticized for nudging towards strong female characters. You are just using one as an example.
Eir, Scarlet(arguable), Caithe, Zojja, and many more.
I don’t know, seems like ANET caters for the young, the old, male and female alike. just need to know where to look.
FYI : I am not a big fan of MOST of the human characters, most of them seem weak and shallow in general.
As I suspected. NO change in their effectiveness. A little less damage but barely.
We REALLY need a a tagging system on this forum. Anyway.
Hi ANET/forum
Just would like some clarification here.
Legacy of the Foefire obvious plays off 250 odd years before Guild Wars 2 and since we are fighting in the mists, it makes sense.
However, I noticed that on red side there is a Charr steam ship in the water.
Now I am aware that the mists warp time a bit and that this could be some sort of weirdness created by it. But its totally out of place.
The “steampunkish” technology is A LOT younger than the events at that time and on top of that we have VERY few examples of charr using ships with such technology, most of which are EXTREMELY recent (submarines in Straights of Devastation).
Anyone know better?
Play whichever you find fun.
Medium armor rarely looks nice though, unfortunately.
I play both extensively. Warrior I mostly use for dungeon running and running stacking DPS/support environment of around 5 people. I use my Engi for most other PvE(swap with my mesmer here sometimes) or WvW or PvP content.
Its probably put there to troll charrs, everyone knows curiosity killed the cat…
This made my day!
LB2 is OP, the rest of their kit is actually pretty underpowered.
Engineer hands down. Takes a lot of practice however.
Only class that would be a problem for an engineer EVERY kitten TIME is the necro.
I plus+’d your post for the thief part, HOWEVER…
Ranger has more condi? Not even a REMOTE chance. Better ranged combat? Not if you are good with grenades. Better PvE solo survivor than the Engi sure, thats likely true.
Well here are my reasons for my statement.
1. Ranger – longbow arrows fly way faster then grenades and it’s aimed at target, not ground. Arrows too slow? Read the wind. Problem gone.
Engi? Nothing makes his ‘nades fly faster. Yeah you have to be reaaaaaally good to hit a moving target with them if it’s not already immobilized/frozen or pinned in place by something else.
Condi damage – engi has tons of them, but just like profession itself, he’s jack of all trades, master of none. Getting 25 bleeds on engi will probably require doing 3 backflips in air and landing with a telemark. Ranger can pull off 25 fast rather easily if he wants and also has reasonable access to poison and burning. Only confusion is missing – that’s engi’s ace in the hole. But i wouldn’t say engi is far better at condis then ranger.
Bottom line is that engi is far more versatile and can do more – but he’ll have to work for it. Ranger on the other hand has simple, tried and fast ways to get the job done, given he’s able to do it at all.
1 trait : Shrapnel.
15% chance to apply bleeding.
No internal cooldown.
So that is PER grenade.
I dono, facing more difficult odds is challenging and helps one learn, I don’t mind it.
Also, League system is terrible too.
Long story short – cross thief off the list. With that done,
Engineer – better team play and versatility then the ranger.
Ranger – better ranged combat and stronger condition damage then Engi, better survivor when solo.

They probably just quit the game…
If somebody rage quit you gain loot, xp and everything
You sure? Never knew this.
They probably just quit the game…
Shamelessly bumping a good thread on the forum…
I CALLED IT! Haha

People cry for expansion, other people cry because of expansion. Seriously. Stop crying, Anet CAN NOT please everyone.
5 Turret engis is clearly a missed opportunity. The proper way to make an OP comp is 4 turret engis and 1 spirit ranger (the turrets get the spirit buff).
I think the guys from DPS tried this out with 3 complete noobs in old teamQ and went like 5-2, only losing to the absolutely best teams. If anyone can find the video, its very funny. At one point, one of the players just runs on-point, drops a crate, and walks away, as that crate was more than enough to guarantee victory.
hahah BEST feels when that happens.
Geomancy is not great. There are A LOT better ones depending on the game mode.
Rather post your build and tell us which game mode its for, and we can help.
“If all else fails, crate them on the head!” Hehekeke… Solid tactic!
They dodge forever, care not to mis, drop it in the last third of their dodge roll animation for a definite stun.
This is one of the few places where you should “hide” your poison behind other condis, poison FIRST at the start of the fight and then other condis, keep refreshing poison NO MATTER WHAT! If you struggle with this alot, get that Doom Sigil.
Finally I would say end it fast, if they get above 10stacks of might, you are most likely going to lose the fight.
This picture was taken from Noscoc’s stream.
’Nuff said. Balance this nonsense please.
Edit: This was a match between 4 top tier players + 1 dev vs 5 turret engis. I don’t recall the final score, but it was pretty close.
That picture just tells me that at least 3 Engi’s wasted their Supply Drop elite… Nothing more.
The fact that some classes can face only certain classes make the game boring if you are not playing with a competitive roster . Very sad balance .
Its HOW you play the class, not WHAT class is being used.
SoloQ.
Decent condi clear.
Damage mitigation via invis/vigor/blocks etc.
Reliable damage output, whether sustained or burst.
Bunker vs speed. I prefer speed.
you can force yourself to do that with 1 character…
But what the OP is suggesting is that we need certain “skills” to get out…
List, no, random roll, sure.
A list would just split the playerbase.
I likes this!
/15 chars
There is nothing better than the supply crate elite, so race would not change ANYTHING from a effectiveness point of view.
Charr invented the profession. (fact)
Asura perfected it. :P (fact with a bit of opinion)
Divinity’s Reach? Filthy humans. :P
Ill be starting at the Black Citadel thank you very much!
Or wait… Maybe Rata Sum. UGGGHHHH!!!! CAN NOT DECIDE!
Rabid > Celestial.
Unless the fight drags out, then the Celestial starts looking Mighty good…
See what I did there?
Seriously though, I feel like Rabid is A LOT better in MORE situations.
But if you allow a fight to drag out with Celestial Engi / Ele then your gonna have along and difficult fight.
