People being banned or infracted for pointing out flaws in the game? Nothing new there.

Devon has already admitted that they have other priorities, I though that was PvE with 2 week content patches, but I guess it’s really sPvP.

And after all that “It’s be ready when it’s ready” talk, we know the game was released early.

There are still exploits in WvW that have been in game since launch.

We all already know this stuff, but the devs do their best to remove as much as they can from the forums. And there’s nothing confidential about stuff we already knew was happening, it’s all been obvious.

Yeah this glitch has been around for ages, and as usual has not been fixed; PvE being the main priority.

It happens when you capture a tower, for some odd reason there is a chance that a player can fall through the floor whilst the tower is being reset for your server. It also happens on walls where you can fall through and find yourself trapped inside a wall.

WXP abilities should be account bound.

Having it character bound means that in order to be effective with other players you are better off sticking to a single character.
Those who prefer to play several characters are therefore at a disadvantage.

What’s better spending 300 WXP over 3 characters, or 300 WXP on a single character?

We all already know that PvP and WvW are not taken seriously to the same degree as PvE. Devon admitted that and that we shouldnt expect any more updates until after December. There are a tonne of posts of WvW players complaining about the lack of updates, but “wait until December” is the only real reply we’ve got from a dev.

And yes they know they are losing players because of it, but I guess the PvE content and gem store is enough for them atm.

Devon or another dev have already replied to a thread where they have admitted that their priorities have been elsewhere, PvE; and that the next WvW (after the 17th little patch) will not be under after December of this year.

If you ask me it’s a disgrace, they are ignoring this part of the community and concentrating on the others.
Many players, even entire guilds have left GW2 because they, like most of us, solely play in WvW.
Our complaints have largely been ignored or removed from the forums under the guise of infractions; but it doesnt change that players are hacking and exploiting even now.
There is also the issue where PvE players only come to WvW to do the JPs as it was an easy way to get badges for their legendaries, and provided no real WvW support, they just took up spots real WvW players need.
And let’s not forget that WvW has a direct influence over PvE via all the boosts it gives. It’s like were the slave labour for PvE players to get richer from our work, and we get peanuts from it! Whilst PvE players are rolling in gold. So I say get rid of those PvE boosts and apply them only to WvW.

I’m usually a PvE player as well, but the PvE in this game just seem rather dull, hence why I WvW. But what can I say, we’re like the black sheep of the family where we only get noticed on Thanksgiving and Xmas, the rest of the year they dont want to hear from us. Which is what the dev post basically said, “We’re working on other things, we’ll get back to you in December.”

You really should not trust any email you get, even if it’s from people you know and trust, and check it properly before doing anything.

The only so called major changes are not planned until after December!

WvW is the black sheep of GW2, it takes time to make a map, 6 months min to test a map, then there’s all the hacks and exploits some of which are still in the game.

I get the feeling that WvW is too time consuming to cater for properly, hence why we are only getting updates every 6 months instead of 2 weeks.

So OP, check back in January, but dont raise your hopes it will be a big change.

Yeah I’ve mentioned several times, the only reason I still play GW2 is because of the guild I am in, otherwise I would have stopped playing months ago!
It’s great that PvE players get new content every 2 weeks, but as we already know WvW and PvP suffer from this as in order to do that they need as many people working on that content; meaning little to no content for the rest of us.

Nice to know PvE players get nice rewards for spending a few minutes fighting one enemy; whilst we WvW players need to spend a lot more time, hours even days or months, to get anything close to something equal.

Man, I stopped playing GW1 because all we saw coming after the EOTN were grinding for titles!

Now in under a year all we see in WvW in GW2 is grinding for Masteries!

And that map update in the centre wont do anything to break up zergs, all it’ll mean is that the zerg train has a new line; cap the point in a circle then move on and let the enemy zerg take them back, whilst you take the towers, and then come back to take these new lake points.
Not many people will defend then, how many people defend towers right now? Not many in most servers, if they want to keep it the zerg makes a detour and comes to defend when needed, then go back on track.

And the debuff for large groups wont work, we can already see guild group swearing at pugs who join their group adding to the debuff, and of course the pug wont leave if you ask them nicely or shout at them.
So that’ll ruin the game for so many people, and besides the debuff probably wont do much anyhow, the larger zerg will probably just steamroll over the smaller zerg or group.

Devon has already admitted that devs have mainly been concentrating on PvE, and we wont expect the above WvW changes until at least the end of the year! But I guess if PvE is making them more money via the Gem store, they dont mind losing their WvW players.

With EB’s JP being a separate map, IMO all GvGs should take place there in order to not take up WvW places, there is no excuse to be on an active WvW BL map anymore.

If I were a commander/leading a zerg I would attack the enemy GvG, any complaints: “If it’s red it’s dead”, simple as.

We would earn SO SO SO much AP, if you based it on the time taken; and I think that is the real issue.

Say it takes 30 minutes to do a JP, which gives you 10AP

Now say it takes 6 months to get 25k kills in WvW, and you play 4 hours per day on average. That give you 28*6*4 = 672 gaming hours.
=> 1344 30 minute sessions
=> 13,440 AP (equivalent)

And that is just for WvW kills.

No kidding! New PvE content every 2 weeks, and the rewards you get from those are astronomical to those you get in WvW!

I spend almost all my time in WvW, and I am lucky to get 2 gold in 6 hours from loot.
I spend 1 hour farming this Scarlet Invasion event and I can get more than 2 gold so easily!

We’ve complained about this since day one, and even with the increase loot drop in WvW, we get nowhere near the amount of gold and other drops that PvE players do!
The fact that WvW gives PvE boosts makes it even worse, we’re working our butts off and it’s the PvE’ers that get all the benefits!

As stated, how can you reward a person who does a jumping puzzle in a few minutes the same amount of achievement points than someone having to get 50k kills in WvW, which will take many players well over a year to get?!
It is completely insane!

Also how can you refund everyone’s karma after not giving notice on boosts no longer applying, yet you cannot create more tiers for the WvW achievements and give players more AP for those tiers? Doesnt make sense.

They didn’t say they would do Dx11 post launch, only evaluate it. And Dx11 doesn’t make things magically faster.

The point is high end PCs are having trouble with GW2, simply because of DX9; whilst low end PCs are fine, why should gamers who spent money on better hardware have to feel like they got the short straw by have reduced performance on a superior machine?

DX11 is much better optimised than DX9, if Anet do bring in DX11 support, things will magically get faster as the GPU will be used as it should, freeing up the CPU to do other things.

Just look around on this forum and other gaming forums, everyone criticizes Anet for not releasing the game with DX11 support, and even more so when people suffered the huge cullings in WvW and large PvE events.

DX11 is essential for any game today, they shouldnt be “evaluating” it, they should have implemented it for launch.

Indeed, I think that another think we need is for WvW ranks to be account bound not character bound.

You need so many points in each mastery that you end up having to stick to one single character! This takes away the fun and variation of the game!

There have been several of these threads now, I’ve even submitted a bug report, but I dont think any mod has even commented on one!

This is blocking us from continuing to other zones to get other chests!

If that doesnt work then roll back the driver to the version it was before and notify nvidia.

Also do you clean your PC? Open it up and if you have a compress air can use that, if not, turn off the pc and use the vacuum with the narrow nozzle over all the fans, inlets and outlets.

Because downloads may be throttled to prevent all the bandwidth going to one person, there will be other people downloading, and bandwidth will be more reserved for players in the game than downloading the client.

So even if you can download at a max of 8mb/s, if the uploader limits you to 2mb, that’s all you’ll get.

Because all cards use DirectX 11, not DirectX 9 which GW2 is based on.

Anet said they would bring in DX11 after release, but so far we have hear nothing at all! This is why the game barely used most GPUs as the DX9 is TOO old, yes it allows people with 10 year old PCs to play the game, but at the expense of lower performance from most gamers’ PC who will have PC under 5 years old.

When Blizzard brought DX11 to WoW, players with up to date GPUs said they didnt see that much increase in detail, but the FPS increased by up to 25%!!!

This is why Anet should implement DX11 immediately, forget fortnightly content, spend all the time on DX11 so that real gamers can play the game as it should be, a lot of players left the game due to lag, culling, skill lag, and low FPS. If the game was based on DX11 as well, this may not have happened.

So it doesnt matter if you have the best GPU on the market right now, DX9 relies more on your CPU than GPU, so if you want better performance right now invest in a new CPU not GPU! If not then we have to wait, and hope, Anet bring in DX11 support.

Is it just me or are some of us having a glitch with the balloon chests where as soon as you get to the last flight of stairs, the chest opens on its own and you cannot open it or receive any loot? I didnt have this issue yesterday though

Most reports that we have received were very vague and didn’t give much more information other than the actual objective, but with the help of my QA and what I saw we were able to get a better repro and submit a more detailed bug for further investigation.

Well what do you expect? One second we are outside, the next we use a skill or just randomly find ourselves inside, we dont know how it happened and sometimes we cannot reproduce the glitch.

But that doesnt mean there isnt a glitch! It’s not our job to find out, all we can do if report what happened and if possible how we think it happened, the rest is for the devs to figure out.

This is why some of us are concerned about the fortnightly living world updates, it means new coding for the game when exploits like the fly hack which have been around since launch still have not been fixed (not sure not seen anyone use it for a bit though)! There’s just gonna be so much code that instead of fixing the issue you’ll end up removing features, cough cough WvW Orbs!

Post how to do it here so everyone know and can use it. Then in 2 months when anet have still not fixed it after everyone has complained constantly about it, those who use it can then claim that it is a genuine and legitimate “tactic” you can use seeing as Anet have not removed it, so stop moaning and use it instead, cos it’s not an exploit cos Anet have unofficially approved it by not removing or fixing it!

Wow what can I say, JQ really wanted their Ogre tower. The number of trebs, mortars, cats and arrowcarts you have built in order to retake it as quickly as possible just created a lot of chaos in that tower. Was some good fights there.

Oh ya, how does this AoE loot thingy work now? O.O

First you have to enable it in the Options menu. However for quite a few people it doesnt work all the time, there is a 1 second delay apparently before you can use it again, but most people have found they are still having to press their interact button once for each bag most of the time.
It works better if you assign a different key to AoE loot than the interact key.

Can mods replace the infracted posts as a lot of KISS member would love to read them

I have to admit AG and FSV would have owned us if they had as many players than us.

We do, it’s just that we arent all in one single enormous group.

That said, even we can end up with a zerg of 50+ when pugs tag along with us if another commander isnt on. I dont blame the pugs and dont really blame the german for their bunkering methods, I rather blame Anet for creating a system where numbers count more than tactics.
When two large zergs come together we all get skill lag, and then the battle all comes down to numbers as the only skill anyone can use is their #1 skill; and so the group with the greater number of players wins. And if you ask me it is this lag that the germans are abusing/taking advantage of.

So the only way to counter the german zerg os for AG and FSP to get a;; their players on each map to travel together as one single zerg. But then where is the fun in that? Apparently that type of “fun” is only fun for germans…..

So really instead of complaining here, we should create a thread in the Suggestions forum demanding we WvW players want more things to do in WvW, things which help break up zergs.

Perhaps some people would like to add to it, or create a new thread with is more detailed than mine and then we can all go add our comments on it.

One thing the germans have going for them is that they are properly organised.

I cannot see every AG player on a BL running as one zerg, and even the ones you would get would refuse to push when faced with an even sized enemy group, forget double or triple numbers, I seen our pugs run a mile and a half from such fights!

So that’s one thing our server needs to learn, and that more cooperation.

I think it would be better to remove the continental server belief.

People used to play just fine in GW1 be it in the EU servers, NA servers or Korean servers.
Then with GW2 they decided to split the community, NA and EU.

Some people with bad connections cannot play on the other continent server, but people with good connections can.

But have what we have, and I say keep it like that now, because at least you know you wont be having much fun with certain german servers f you are matched against them

I think we’re at a point where some of us dont care that people can hack their way to get the orbs, it’s just something DIFFERENT to do. We want them back even if they will continue hacking their way them.

WvW needs more features which it hasnt got since release whilst PvE get new content every month!

If no, and you like to do your own thing, dont follow any commander.

I’ve leveled 4 characters solely in WvW, and there are people who’ve done a lot more.

Yes you will be a weaker player, but then so is an 80 in green gear compared to one in exotic.

The only time when a person has some right to tell you to leave party, is if you are in a guild party that is setting up where they want geared 80s, I dont see any other excuse why someone would tell you to leave. But then what can they do, they cant stop you from following them.

We’ve had limited fixes, and in the upcoming patch we will get a few more skills and traits.However, when will we actually get some new content and features for WvW?!

We need more things to do than zerg vs zerg in the open field and zerg vs Arrow Cart at towers. The Orbs at least gave up something else to do and should be brought back. I dont care that Anet have not fixed the fly hack which will allow an enemy player to jump over the wall and nick it, at least it’s something else to do; and maybe it’ll get those pesky bunkerers out of their towers more often to retake them.

But we definitely need more objectives in WvW. For example, say that a giant will randomly spawn and attack a tower so you have to go defend it, this means splitting up the zerg as this could give an enemy server time to take another tower.
Have upgrades on towers where npcs can man the cannons and oil (not arrow carts or other siege though :P )

I cant think of any right now, so I’ll let other people post what type sof play they would like to see in WvW.

OK so we all agree that the rest of the community does not like the way most germans like to play, it is absolutely no fun for us at all.

But let’s not forget that it’s Anet’s fault for increasing AC damage by 80% now everyone has 10 superior ACs at every gate to defend with.
Before this we didnt mind ACs, they caused some damage, but at least you could remain on a flame ram for more than 2 seconds before you lost 90% of your health.

What we really need to do is complain to Anet for them to return AC damage back to what it used to be.
