I can confirm, they did say they were actively working on it over a year ago. In fact Devon himself was kind enough to take some time and respond to this very thread 11 months ago stating the exact same! I would like to thank him once again for making time for us lowly WvW players.
Even one of the latest posts by a mod (thread now deleted) clearly states that they are working on other pressing matters.

So please be rest assured that more Living Story is coming very soon!

Wow a bug in WvW, never!

What it is is that sometimes when you capture a tower the ring remains. If this happens and there are still enemy inside, they can lure the tower lord out of the ring whilst others get in the ring and claim the tower back again.
If you look at your screenshot there are 2 lords, one yours and enemy.

Expect a fix in 2018, and by fix the removal of lords from towers :P

Well I’ve seen you post a lot in your sections, so good to see some active mods, sure you will be missed by the sPvP players. Wish we had an active mod for WvW really…

If necros are supposed to be the best condition appliers, why does every other class do it better and faster than me???

Necro = Death by attrition using conditions

Other classes = Death but using the same conditions as the necro as well as other conditions, which can be stacked faster and cast faster, but not only that you can apply a whole lot of boons on yourself to help you kill that necro even faster!

So a necro’s death by attrition is true, whilst you slowly apply conditions and damage to the enemy, the enemy can burst you down in no time. :P

Since just before the tournament began I’ve not really had much time to play GW2; and when I do play it’s in WvW.

We are 2 weeks in now and I’ve already got 8/10 achievements with 5 more almost done! And I’ve hardly spent that much time in the game in the last 2 weeks!

What is the point in having a 10 week tournament if the achievements can be done in one by dedicated WvW Players?!
Sure it’s great to get rid of the PvE AP players, but then wouldnt it be better to make more of the achievements harder to get so that they must play at least half the season and have to contribute to WvW instead of just zerging. Though to be honest I think if that happened the PvE players would just zerg for 5 weeks instead.

But seriously, more thought and effort needs to be put into WvW!

Yes in principle megaservers are a great idea especially for those on low population servers. But it also means each server does not needs it’s own dedicated server. This means fewer servers Anet needs to spend money on.

So servers losing population that they need to merge them and saving money = game is in decline….at least that is what I get from this.

You probably could remove waypoints IF rewards were given for defending objectives and escorting dollies, or even add a Patrol event where you have to follow a few vets and do a few side events so bots cant just follow the route.

atm organised servers are picking people at random from their voip and getting them to stay in a tower for 15-30 mins before swapping with another person.
Anet needs to add such a feature in the game and make it rewarding. But as they have already said, they cant think of a way to do it right now.

If the devs have time to add an annoying bobbing head to characters for April Fools, they have the time to fix bugs which have been in WvW for over 18 months!

If your code is organized properly, doing something like increasing your head size takes exactly 2 keystrokes.

If your code is organised properly you wouldnt have bugs, and and bugs that are found would be fixable quickly, not take 18 months! :P

I dont think that the lack of the trinity makes it boring, but anet have not spend that much time on building and improving WvW, cant say much for PvE though dont play it much.

But yes the way the game has been set out, zerging is the best option, which is what makes things SO boring! If you want somethign done quickly, with success and little effort then a zerg is the answer.

Anet needs to change the mechanics of events I think so to force groups to split up and actually play rather than spam skill 1.
I did the marionette even for a small while, although you needed at least 100 people to do it, it did split you up into 4 groups of 25, then further into groups of 5-7. This mean all players had to fight and if one group failed you all failed.
So more things like that, but something more engaging, because even in the 25 man group you were still zerging each path whilst waiting your turn, which wasnt that much fun.

As Tibstrike says, your AC fire shifts around, even though you who fired cannot see that, the enemy can.
I think as you fire you can see your AC move around slightly as well.

Release a WvW update.
Fix WvW bugs
Fix WvW glitches
Fix WvW hacks
Ban WvW hackers
Remove PvE crap from WvW
Devon to to host a WvW (EOTM) CDI, oops sorry that was the other week, he did a great job btw!

We can suggest improvements to WvW until we are blue in the face.

Until we get an ACTIVE mod/dev to read, review, consider, relay and then respond to the WvW community, we’re pretty much talking to a brick wall; a brick wall which throws one of it’s bricks at us if the post isnt all good and positive about the game.

Well I am having issues logging in but I think your issue is different.

You may need to allow the game past your firewall.
If you have a program like Peerblock running, you need to add NCSoft IP list to the allow lists.

I was just pointing out that there have been dozens of posts about lag in WvW in multiple servers for several weeks already. None of those got a reply from a mod apart from having it trashed. So why this one?

The devs must play on one of these servers to have replied to it, yet the previous threads which talked about widespread lag in all servers got deleted from the forums….

Indeed, I like to thank anet for noticing the issues with the game and dealing with them quickly and efficiently!

I am now safe in the knowledge that GW2 is now a much better game for all.

While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game.

But then when it came to players who build useless seige to reach the seige cap a mod responded that they cannot control the way a player plays, each player has a right to play in a style they like.
So even though that play style completely goes against the terms, they allow it!

Just remember Anet like to contradict themselves, my favourite being “You can use macros as long as they do one single thing, you know like a keybind; so dont forget to buy our officially endorsed Steel Series keyboard which allows macros, I mean keybinds!”

I would never have guessed that especially when even after the season ended they said please wait until after 31st Dec.
Then come January 2014 they say they’re not releasing anything so they can finish this LS story, but there’s gonna be a big (PvE) patch after!
But good news is that the no-go lake area has been replaced by a no-go sPvP area in the middle of all the BLs. And we finally are able to kick offline players from our parties! Job well done for 20 months of hard work by the WvW team…..

Indeed, if you click World Selection on the Character Select screen, there is an option to Guest as well as Transfer.

This allows you to participate in that server’s PvE events, that is of course as long as it is not full which will push you into an overflow server.

Just dont make the mistake of transferring when you actually want to guest.

Problem with LS is new players, if Anet can attract new players now, have missed it all!

Releasing the game in China they are thinking of separate servers for them starting from the beginning meaning they will be 2 years behind the rest of us.

I do think expansions would be better and if they used a similar phasing feature that WoW was using, where an area changes depending on how far you are in the story. But this of course means more servers to separate people who are at different points of the story.

Let’s clear this up once and for all:

You are allowed macros but you are not allowed macros…..

It’s more Anet madness, I actually sent a support ticket asking this when I was opening 5000 bags, I read the terms and asked what if I time it so the macro presses at the average rate of a person, around 10 clicks a second max. The reply I got was check the terms.
Basically Anet are saying you can use macros, but you yourself have to think about whether or not it breaks the terms. Now if you ask me if you set it to 5-10 clicks a second that’s not an advantage. When opening bags you cant really run around and do something else. But as seen above some people say such a macro isnt allowed.
So users have conflicting views, and the mods wont give you a real answer, I guess the only way to find out is use a macro and if you get banned then that macro was obviously not allowed :P

But by definition a macro is the ability to do several things with one click. Yet Anet say you can use macros as long as they only do one thing, which is a keybind! Which means macros are not allowed at all!
Get even more confusing when Anet endorse the official Steel Series GW2 keyboard which allows macros!

WvW isnt balanced in every single aspect of it! When it comes to loot I hear other guild members say “Yay I got so many loot bags!” I look at my inventory and I only have like 5. This is because I play ele and provide support with water fields.
But as said WvW isnt balanced, so even though I put in the waterfields to help heal all the players, they get all the damage in and get the bags, whilst I get just a few. But without the healing they would die faster and get less loot, so basically support characters are there to help others get their loot.
It’s probably why we see all heavy trains these days as well.

If you want gold, WvW isnt the place to be.

At OP, yes I find myself in the same situation and the answer is I;ve only played this long because of guild I am in.

That said I’ve kindda had a break for the last 2 weeks and apparently so have a few other people. We all warned anet that if they didnt fix WvW we’ll just move to other games, and that is what is happening.

“Poor people”? Yes this game is sub-free, but there are also so many other games that are sub-free.

Sub-free does not mean poor, it means that the game is supported by in-game purchases instead of a monthly fee.
To be honest I am surprised Blizzard havent done it to WoW, as in a way paying a monthly fee means players expect more from the game, not just content but some respect and acknowledgement; both of which are lacking in GW2 as the Living story is just temp content, and well the only acknowledgement I’ve got from the mods are infraction points and temp forum bans for demanding answers and explanations.

Some people can end up paying more per month to a sub-free game than a monthly fee game. With a monthly fee you know how much you will be spending each month. With this sub-free with payment system for in-game items it’s more like “Oh I like that, i’ll get it, Oh that too!” You can quickly lose track of how much you have spent when spending only a small amount.

Just an observation: Devon closed the EOTM CDI 3 days ago, in the last 3 days Chris has made 9 posts in his Fractals CDI, including one post to inform fractal players he’s up to date with the posts and thereby assuring them he has read them.

What assurances did we get from Devon? “Sorry I thought there wasnt much else to talk about, so I popped to the pub for 8 days, I think I deserve it for all the hard work I’ve done.” and this was after a 8 day hiatus from the CDI!

So officially the EOTM CDI closed 3 days ago, though really it closed 17 days ago, just 4 days after it started.
But I think the real question is, did it even start? Especially when comparing it to the Fractals CDI which began 21 days ago just like the EOTM, but has been actively seen posts by Chris up to just 4 hours ago! Fractals gets 21 days attention, WvW barely gets 4 days, and EOTM isnt even WVW!!!

I say we need answers, but we all know we wont get any!

Even more concerned as the mods have just removed the thread where people were posting the invisible and invincible ele!

Keep your heads in the ground anet, you’re doing a bang up job driving people away from your game!

I just love that gif! It perfectly summarises exactly what is on Anet’s mind.

I also love the fact that the forum home page starts with the words “Welcome Be Heard!”, and yet they infract all our posts which point of anything that needs fixing or shows the game negatively.

1)That it took Anet 20 months to fix something that should have been done within days even hours! i.e. party invite/kick system.

2) Anet do not care about WvW

3) Devon does not care about WvW or the community.

4) A gold seller can be banned within hours whilst a hacker is still here 20 months later

From my weekend experience of playing South Park The Stick of Truth, that looks like Dire AIDS; it’s like AIDS but dire.

Instead of offering free transfer to all mid and low tier servers, what anet need to do is monitor server coverage and only allow free transfer to those servers which need it!

But seeing how they have gone this way, if you are into WvW I would suggest those in lower servers move up to mid tier servers instead.

Multiple accounts and multiboxing is allowed. If the person decides to have an account on a rival server then that is up to them, it’s low of them to have to spy on your server, but as with the players who build useless siege to reach the cap, anet sees this as a valid style of play; even though if you ask me it violates their own Terms of Conduct.

What you cannot do is multibox and link your keyboard and mouse to both clients, eg if you press forward both characters in each client move forward.

Good news for some, we’ve already moved costing us 1000 gems! Really hating anet theses days. :@
