Firstly not one of those enemies in this video are under 80. Two of those enemies have world completely stars, so i hope if they have enough time to do everything, they have full exotics. Now they were all terrible players especially the thief. Good job showing how an extremely good player can make a weak class look good. Anychance do you have a necro that you can make a video for? because that class needs a star like you.

Yes, the people dismissing this because the people he fought are “sub80s” clearly have no clue what they are talking about and should be ignored. HOWEVER, take a look at the orb buffs. Was the elementalist running with a 3 orb advantage?

Those orbs make a big difference. I know from firsthand experience that I can kill 2-3 bad players when I have a 3 orb advantage on my necromancer (since you mentioned it). Keyword… bad.

Also, I might add that it’s a hell of a lot easier to move to a server that has a solid nonNA population than it is to get a nonNA populaton to move to your server.

They are transferring to SoS because it has an established nonNA population. With a solid NA population transfering over it’s only a matter of time before SoS finds itself in Teir 2 and possibly even Teir 1.

24/7 coverage trumps any amount of what might be called “skill” in WvWvW.

Lich form is better if you aren’t the one up front taking the hits. Plague form is better if you are the one taking the hits.

I always seem to be the one taking the hits, so Plague form for me (even though I’m running power).

Death Shroud doesn’t remove stuns…

didnt say it removed stuns but if a warrior bull charges you or you get knocked down or dazed you can still go into death shroud and still can fear or if you feel like it eat the burst with your life force in death shroud

oh wait the warrior bulls rushed you with balanced stance and frenzy, now what?

oh, and the people you’re ‘1v1ing’ are most likely baddies.

Well, like he said, your DS will eat the warrior’s damage (provided that you have enough lifeforce).

So, you might want to rephrase your question as “oh wait the warrior bulls rushed you with balanced stance and frenzy while you have no lifeforce, now what?”

I am trying similar build like you. However i cant decide what runes to socket. May you tell me what runes you are running OOzo? I am running gems (power/prec/tough) right now, but i am not sure if it is good choice…

I’m using mostly emerald orbs at the moment (power/prec/tough). However, I sometimes question the value of toughness when encountering full glass cannon burst builds.

what’s your spec? I suppose 30/10/0/0/30? Are you using the 20%-axe-trait?
I was thinking about 20/20/0/0/30 to have wells being ground targeted for WvW. Bad thing is that this makes an axe as mainhand pretty useless. Was thinking about using a dagger instead. What do you think?

30/10/0/0/30, yes. I took trait to give 20% extra damage when target is under 50% health since I cycle through axe, staff, and DS.

IMO, it’s too easy to kite dagger.

This is WvW. Unfortunately, turning into a giant lich will get you focused and killed. Plague is much better for WvW since you can use it to tank focus.

My role in WvW is breaking lines with death shroud and plague form.

I’ve been wanting to try something like this for a while, what stats do you itemize for besides power? Do your run Crit/Crit damage or anything along those lines?

Since it’s WvW, I can customize my stats a bit. I’m using a mixture of power/precision/toughness and power/vitality/crit gear.

You would still be able to use stability to stomp by selfcancelling DS. However, that costs you some uptime on the stability while stomping. And even though it would be a fraction of a second that could make all of the difference in the world.

As is, with the shroudstomp the stability wears off shortly after the top of the stomp animation as you are coming down.

They would probably be more concerned with being in DS while reviving someone. You can take a good bit of punishment while reviving if you are full lifeforce. Of course, they should be able to knock you off of a revive since you only have the first 3 seconds of stability protection.

This is a short entertainment style video inspired by its song.

I personally don’t think that power necros are “that” underpowered. Against good players, I win some and I lose some with most of the fights being fairly close. I concede that we do underperform when compared to certain other burst DPS classes but IMO it’s because they are overperforming not because we are horribly underperforming.

The difference between starting a fight with no life force and full life force is pretty dramatic. I think they need to normalize how much life force we start with when we are out of combat. I absolutely hate having to go kill a few animals in WvW to max my lifeforce out just so I stand a chance against some of the ridiculous burst that exists in the game at the moment. And, of course, there are many bugs to be fixed.

On the shroudstomps and shroudrevives. All you have to do is hit DS and your stomp keybind at the same time. It’s the same thing as doing a jump dodge roll. I have 3 seconds of stability when entering DS which covers most (but not quite all of the stomp). Being in DS while reviving is huge since it absorbs INC damage (and we know how much people love focusing revivers).

I was hesistant to put this in the movie, because I’m afraid that Arenanet will look at it and nerf it. I hope they don’t since many other classes can use mechanics that help secure stomps and revives as well. Please let us keep this, Arenanet. Please.

Burst, in general, needs a pretty big nerf in this game. Now, specifically with respect to thieves: I play a power necro ATM. If I have full life force I can beat a bad or average thief pretty kitten easily. If I’m up against a good thief then I have to have full life force and my elite up (I use plague form instead of lich form for it’s tankiness) to have a chance at winning. You can use plague form to blind the thief and drain his initiative.

I think it’s unfortunate that I pretty much have to use an elite to counter stealth, backstab, heartseeker spam when up against a good thief.

But, the thing that really irritates me about the thief is when I get jumped by them, counter their burst and start winning only to have them… you know, just leave whenever they want to.

The risk versus reward for thieves in GW2 is absolutely the worst I’ve seen in any MMO I’ve played. In other games stealthers were appropriately punished for making bad choices or bad plays. Not this game. They can just… leave when they screw up or get outplayed.

I was there, the person carrying the orb went the low road to the Hills. Several of us went the high road to intercept your interceptors. IIRC, some of the DB players were also mentioning they couldn’t see the orb on the map either. It seems the problem lies with the map’s functionality.

I can assure you that warriors and guardians are no where as difficult to fight as a thief. Mesmers are difficult, but still not as bad as fighting a thief. And, if you do turn a fight around on a thief and start winning… well, they just leave.

People who only play thieves might have a limited viewpoint when it comes to these facts.

The inbalance is that you can’t kill a thief unless they actually want to stay to finish the fight. If things turn for the worse they can just leave. The risk versus reward is totally out of balance with this class. The strongest 1vN class in the game also has the best escapability and mobility.

Will this post get deleted and an infraction given to me again?

I’m not insulting here, what I’m saying is the flat out truth. I’m sorry if the truth is so uncomfortablen for some people.

If you are wondering where the hostility is coming from, it’s from when you have members state on the forum that they are the only guild worth a “kitten” on DB or implying that the only reason we are winning is because of them.

Yes, we would not be winning without Tsym, but we would also not be winning without the efforts of many other people and guilds. There are 3 borderlands and the center map. Trust me, people are putting time, effort, and money to advance our server when Tsym isn’t even around. They typically don’t broadcast what they have accomplished to the entire map so that everyone knows, however.

Guild pride is fine, but not at the expense of openly insulting or issuing backhanded insults to the other guilds and people who are putting considerable effort into winning the matchups.

I’ve been running power axe/focus/staff for a few weeks now and the damage is good, however it pales in comparison to what other classes are capable of. IMO, the necro damage feels balanced and the other burst classes need to be nerfed to bring them line.

Typical damage versus squishies is 4-6K on axe full channel and DS full channel. Putrid mark will crit for 3-4K. Staff 1 will crit for 2K and DS 1 can crit for up to 4K. A thief will do much more damage than that. They will do it faster, and they have much better mobility and escapability. And, of course, they have a better fear.

It’s kind of insulting actually.
