I hate to say it but bunkers are one of the hardest classes to play in the game. It’s one of the most important jobs and THE most under appreciated job. A good guardian wins games.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
I doubt they’ll change how HGH operates, but they may very well change how other things affect it. In particular, I could see them altering external boon duration bonuses. By external, I mean things from runes or food. For instance, they might put a cap on boon duration (or maybe just might duration) from runes or something like diminishing returns. That would be considered a nerf as far as HGH builds go, but it wouldn’t alter the way the trait functions.
I honestly figured this is the way they’d go. Sigil of battle in particular is what makes HgH and might stackin up to 25 viable.

3) I don’t think there are many people who know what the prefix meta actually means. it is misused frequently on game forums. hint: super adventure box IS a meta-game. Power specs within the game are just … the game.
;) silly post-modern e-kiddies.
Semantics… At this point attempting to defend word meta’s status quo is stupid. It’s taken on a whole other meaning now. To ignore that is to ignore how language itself develops and only makes you look pedantic.
Particular specs and their superiority over others designed for the same role are meta. Welcome to guild wars!

Very unlikely this build will ever be nerfed. this is the build they want everyone to have. doesnt do too much damage, its 123 simply and not too hard to be killed by thief and mesmers
static discharge builds that offer a bigger damage burst will get a 2-5s internal cool down very soon
123 simply?
LOL
Have you ever played hgh in a tourney?

Individual skill is very rewarding for HgH engis. Sadly, I believe this build will be nerfed into the ground eventually.
Grenades are the hardest and most regularly used skill shot in the entire game. When they do get nerfed I’ll shed a tear for this games future. There aren’t very many skill shots and skill based features in this game outside of reactionary classes (condi engi, mesmer, bunker guardian are the ones that come to mind). Even then most of the skill involved in those revolve around knowing other classes. It’s an MMO, really that’s about as much as you can ask for.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
100%. There is no doubt in my mind it will be nerfed eventually. It is the best build in the entire game.
People have recently started to cry about it too. Even if it is the hardest build to play in the game, it WILL be nerfed. My only fear is that we’re left like warriors with no other alternatives that remain competitive in tourneys.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
They’re not gonna do it, especially at this point.
PvP is worth more to Anet as a tack-on side-game for the PvE players than it is as a stand-alone mode for the small remaining PvP player base.
People say pvp just doesn’t make any money, so that’s why they’ll never alienate the PvE player base by making separate skill sets, and I totally agree, but isn’t PvP what made GuildWars famous in the first place? Sad
The long and short of it is, they knew PvPers were gonna flock to this game no matter what, so they sank most of their investment money into the PvE side. Unfortunately, they put in way too many wild, unchecked abilities (condition spam, a.i. spam, stealth spam, retaliation, the moa ability, rtl, downed states, ect…) for PvP to ever be balanced fairly, and they’re not gonna remove them just to please the small PvP audience.
They’ve basically got all the money they can get out of us with that initial $60. Whats left is the kabuki theater of SOTG, where carrots are dangled in front of our faces to keep us hanging on till the next expansion.
I agree with the fact that Pv kitten idelined to PvE for good reason, but I would argue that this is the easiest thing for them to do at this point. They were hemorrhaging players by the time they released 2 new maps, something far harder than simply balancing the game. All they need to do is change a few numbers here and there and suddenly they’ve got the base for actually improving PvP in meaningful ways if they ever choose to do it. If they choose to not invest in PvP then the LEAST they can do is actually make the current and dwindling player base happy.
Again, balance is by far the easiest way to improve SPvP. Their reluctance to actually dive in and make changes is unjustifiable under any scope. My only answer as to why they haven’t is that they’re either too stupid or only have one team under orders to balance both PvP and PvE under the same umbrella. If that’s the case then at least man up and admit it.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
I don’t think it was a fair fix. It was about as fair a fix as was the frenzy nerf; it crippled an already underperforming class. I was perfectly fine with epidemic as it was before and didn’t even know it was operating in that fashion. Necros are already poor condition damage classes in comparison to their brethren with easy access to burning, now it’s just kind of pathetic. They still won’t be as good as engis or rangers and now that gap is larger.

Not quite. My quote by John Sharp himself shows their reluctance to do it.
The only real splits that come to mind is the changes to boon duration runes and save yourselves, the guardian shout that gives most boons in the game.

I hope now that all pvpers understand that since pvp has a low population and doesn’t generate much money for Anet, they won’t put any effort into major pvp development. Like I said on the main leaderboard post, it would make sense for Anet from a business standpoint to give us just enough to show that they’re doing something, but stall us until the next expansion where they’ll implement all of the features that we’re waiting on, while being able to implement a way to make money off of pvpers (i.e. custom arenas, more cash shop offerings, etc.).
A voice of reason drowned out in a sea of QQ.
Sadly it’s not the playerbase’s fault their monetization scheme failed miserably. Paids turned out to be crap and were scrapped because no one bought tickets anyways.
If they actually had something to work with after the epic drop in population then they might add some new goodies, but they don’t so they won’t.
If you guys are waiting on those massive game changing improvements to PvP then I’d suggest you don’t get your hopes up. They aren’t coming for a very long time. If you don’t enjoy the game for what it is now then you should probably just give up. Nothin is gonna change unless a-net invests a lot of time and money into PvP, something I wouldn’t expect them to do from a business perspective until an expansion. Even with an expansion it’s a toss up. It just wouldn’t make sense.
I’ll still keep playin the game because I enjoy it a lot. But right now I realize it’s in maintenance mode and will continue to be there for a while.

Rangers have seen a series of nerfs that make them laughable. Empathic bond’s fix and the quickness nerf, mainly. Their power in 1v1s used to lie in the fact that they could outlive opponents between massive numbers of dodges and near invulnerability to conditions with a massive over time heal. Their power in teamfights relied solely on AoE condis (protip: engis do it better) and quickness rez’s/stomps. Traps are too predictable and easy to dodge.
Mesmers are just plain weak against good players in 1v1s and have seen themselves fall into a support role. Shatter combos are predictable. Clones are cleaved down in team fights forcing mesmers to blow mirror images (usually their only stun break) to dish out damage. IOL, time warp, distortion stomping and portal seem to be their only real benefit to the team. Time warp has been nerfed from the anus tightening team killer it used to be to a relatively minor factor. Oh, and they have no condi cleanses. If I land two shrapnels a mesmer is dead unless his team cleanses him. They can dish out scary damage, but they do so at a huge risk of being focused down in the blink of an eye.

I said it months ago and I’ll say it again, engis are the strongest class in the game right now. It’s just that people are starting to listen

Swap every time you can. If you’re running around with that little might it’s a simple problem of not drinking enough and not swapping enough.
Sigil of battle is on a 9 (10?) second CD. If you swap properly, with 70% boon duration you can see 9-12 from that alone. HgH will cover the rest. Enhance performance at that point becomes unnecessary.
Keep swapping, keep chugging! Try and drop enhanced performance later for short fuse when you get comfortable.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
Eles are a lot less scary in large team fights than in small scale, IMO. When their CC hits the entirety of your team fighting at a point it becomes a far, far better class than when it only hits one out of four.
The most effective way of burstin an ele is a combination of poison and patience. Poison seriously hampers their ability to sustain themselves in water and other attunements. Patience is needed because of their three stun breaks, usually one of which is an invuln, one of which is a teleport. Also, burst classes have serious difficulty breaking through their 5 or 6 seconds of protection on earth attunement, so be very careful not to waste your burst in that fashion.
But like I said, eles aren’t as scary in team fights and can be bursted down like most other classes if you catch them good enough. That, to me, is their major weakness. Their damage will more than likely be subpar in comparison to other classes, if not, they’ll die super quick.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
Have you realized that we play for over 5 months the same meta? d/d thief, shout-guard, cantrip-ele, nade-engi, shatter-mes, bm-ranger /trap-ranger (wow there are 2 viable builds!!!) sometimes I see a dps-guard. And that’s it.
Surely it’s not priority one on the list, but it’s a big issue that this game gets boring and predictable. It’s the same meta because of the sheep mentality of the community.
Me personally Ive been playing phantasm Mesmer, greatsword dps guardian and axe/mace warrior and enjoying it immensely and that’s in tournaments, not hot join. You choose to play those specs, as good as they are because the rest of the community tells you to and that its the only one that’s viable.
Play the weapons you like the play style of. I prefer control to outright damage and I get that more in my weapon and trait selection. I don’t lose too many games where I think being a different spec would have changed the outcome much.
Actually I prefer to win. Against competitive teams you won’t stand a chance with these “builds”. Ergo: you’re forced to play with these pigeon holded builds.
I also prefer to win and solo que tournaments all the time when I play. Admittedly, I run into teams sometimes but that’s a by product of a bad system more often then not.
When we lose those matches, it’s a teamwork and communication issue 99% of the time, not a build issue. Teams beat solo quers because they can coordinate better.
In a team v team environment I can maybe see what you are saying, but I believe that the meta can be broken by players themselves already. Shout guardian? Bring a necro. Little counters like that can turn games. DD Ele? Arcane thievery and Null Field will destroy an Ele that’s getting focussed fired. Sure, that means the Mes can’t run mirror images anymore, and pick between decoy and blink, but it is a choice based system based on trade offs.
Just because the majority either don’t or won’t change to at least attempt to counter do e of the current meta doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It’s a community issue, not arena nets.
The problem with this is that the meta is directly changed and by the devs moreso than any player or team. Eles came into favor when the devs made changes to vapor form and fixed ride the lightning (amongst other things).
Arguing that the meta is mainly influenced by the playerbase and that players just need to “counter” todays meta would be right if not for the fact that most specs are severely hampered by useless utilities/traits.
I have theory crafted every single possible build for the engi and came up with the HgH build. There is no better build for the engi, I can promise. You will not see me running gadgets, turrets, flamethrower, bomb kit or elixir gun because they simply suck in comparison. There is no way to advance the engineer meta at this point because one build is simply incredibly dominant. It’s even worse on other classes. Shatter mesmers FAR outdo mantra, glamour, tanky and phantasm mesmers. Thieves will always have a shortbow and dagger mainhand.
Of course there are incredibly niche builds out there that “counter” certain classes, but sacrificing your own viability against multiple classes to hard counter a particular class is asking a bit too much. It’s possible, but only against extremely specific teams. It’s also very clear to me that arena-net doesn’t want this to happen; you have to log out and log back in to respec now once a tournament pops.
And just so everyone knows it’s not as if the sky is falling. Before the last patch I think that the game was probably the most balanced it has been. Sadly, especially after last patch, multiple classes and a massive number of traits/utilities seem to lag behind. The reluctance to do something about it is getting a bit out of hand 9 months into the game
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
As Allie said, we want to be careful to balance their WvW/PvE potential against their PvP potential, and then inside of PvP, we have to be careful to watch how they perform at high ranks vs. low ranks.
This is a scary idea that I’ve heard bounced around quite a bit from the devs. To be perfectly blunt, it’s also a pretty stupid idea.
To say that PvP and PvE/WvW are different is a complete understatement. The goals, gearing and playerbase are so vastly different that to balance 8 classes around both sides of the mists is impossible. It cannot be repeated enough. BALANCING AROUND BOTH PVP AND PVE IS IMPOSSIBLE, WE WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED IF YOU CONTINUE THIS TREND!
Take for example, gearing. In WvW I can get a ridiculous 120% crit damage with full zerkers and two ascended rings. That’s not even the max you can get. That is quite literally double the amount of crit damage I’m able to get in the mists. In addition, with runes of altruism, I can maintain 20-25 stacks of might to get a ridiculous 3400 power, 120% crit damage and 65% crit. Are you kittening kidding me? How are you going to balance around THAT when I can only get 3k power and 30% crit damage and 50% crit in my glassiest build in the mists. It literally hits half as hard.
Those are hard numbers. It’s also only one of the very many differences that the devs seem oblivious of. The least of which is how completely rabid the playerbase of PvP is in comparison to the lackadaisical semi-casuals in PvE (not to seem insulting, I know that PvE has its hardcore players as well, there are just a relatively low proportion of them in comparison to PvP)
One of the largest differences lies in the fact that the needs of PvP balance are far different than the needs of PvE balance. In PvP, winning revolves around time. How quickly one person moves from one point to the next is, in my opinion, THE factor that makes eles overpowered in the current meta because no other class is able to fill that roll. Speed and time are huge factors that don’t exist as major balance issues in PvE, so how do you balance both? You also have to deal with the fact that this is an attrition based game with each individual player dealing with their own health pool and rarely with that of their team. You do not whittle down a boss mob like you do another set of 5 players. To balance around both ideas just boggles the mind.
Balance indifference’s will never bother a PvE’er as much as a PvP’er. A PvP player is always trying to win at the cost of another players loss. That’s the definition of PvP. When a PvPer loses to another player running what he considers imbalanced it is far more stress inducing than when a PvE’er notices that class Y does more damage and stays alive longer than him. It is continually rubbed in the face of the PvPer watching his team get destroyed by what he perceives as imbalance and therefore requires a more sensitive and frequent approach. While I’m not touting the much talked about whack-a-mole method, I’m pointing out that inaction in the field of balance will kitten off the PvPer much, MUCH more than the PvEer.
TL;DR The reason why people are so kitten off about balance in PvP, the reason why hoards of loyal players quit, who repeatedly say guild wars has one of the best combat systems in any mmo, and cite balance issues, the reason why you’ll never, ever, ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER have a thriving PvP game is because of your inane insistence that PvE and PvP MUST be the same.
The simple reality is that they are not the same.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
it’s not a learn to play problem in tourneys. Over 4k games on engi and I’ve seen it all. Retal is definitely one of the biggest killers for no real definitive reason.
There is literally no logical justification to have mutli-hit abilities outside of ability diversity. I believe a-net decided to add retal to “counter” fast attacking classes but then decided to make some of the most powerful abilities in the entire game single hit. If anything, retal should punish AoE, that’s completely ostensible. What is not is the fact that no consideration was taken with regards to how retal effects certain classes and specs.
There should be a reworking of retal. In its current state it does nothing but punish very specific types of abilities, multi-hit AoE attacks. Again, the only class that uses multi-hit AoE’s a large majority of the time are engis. There is no specific reasoning behind this. It’s completely arbitrary and does not compensate for anything except multi-hit AoEs triggering things like aegis and blind and continuing on.
If retal was reworked, so should aegis and blind. These things need to be considered. It’s not just a problem with engis either, it’s just that the problem is skewed to hurt certain engi specs for no particular reason.
It’s not as if the devs said “oh, flame jet is incredibly strong! We need to add an ability to counter its multi-hit capabilities to limit its powerful, multi-hit AoE”. It works out like that though ;\

Even Phineas’ suggestion of “use different attacks” is pretty laughable because engineers don’t have any particularly slow-speed, high-damage attacks, such as warriors, guardians and thieves can access.
Uh, wow. Really? The Tool Kit says hi.
But even if you didn’t want to use it:
Incendiary Ammo
Flame Blast
Blowtorch
Blunderbuss
Jump Shot
Overcharged Shot
Big Ol’ BombAll great non-spam, high damage options. Never mind the fact that Condition Damage doesn’t proc Retaliation, and we are one of the best condition spreaders in the game.
I’m still 100% convinced that this is a L2P problem.
Then you’ll never be convinced otherwise. Sorry friend. Stubbornness doesn’t promote good discussion.
What you’re suggesting is that you run a sub-par damage dealing build or substantially limiting your damage on the basis of retaliation. That is not the right thing to do. I’m pretty sure no one believes that the answer to counter a zerg with retaliation is to run into the middle of the zerg with full zerkers and drop a big ol’ bomb. As manly as that prospect is, it’ll get you a quick trip back to your keep.
The entire point that I’ve been trying to make is that retaliation does not make any sense in how it works. There has been no balance discussion or good reasoning regarding retaliation. In my opinion that’s caused by the fact that most classes (outside of WvW zerging) aren’t nearly as effected as bad as engineers are.
Muffling a discussion about a boon that has particularly large implications for one class on the basis that you can “run something else” is ridiculous.

(edited by Ostricheggs.3742)
TL;DR
I don’t get how people think that if some setup suffer most from some effect (here: GK/FT from retalation) it should not be like this?
The games with good ‘counters’ do usually look more balanced and interesting than those where everyone is a bit of that and a bit of this.Take as example a confusion and a thief. It is a very similar situation. And it’s good that some setups counter some.
Well, you just can’t bring GK/FT to 3w ZvZ. Is it really that bad? Are you really necessary with those in 3w? Don’t they (your zerg) have enough damage?
I’d say control bombs + EG fields would be more appreciated by the zerg, for example.
Retal can simply be over the top on engis, especially out in WvW. It’s severely underestimated because engineers get the shortest stick.
And calling for balance isn’t anything new. It should be taken into consideration is all, and in my opinion it clearly hasn’t. No one seems to have ever discussed it, what it means and how it effects us. Now that the combat log has been fixed it’s almost ALWAYS on my top damage taken when I die, even in tourneys.
Also, a thief with confusion doesn’t have it any worse than any other class hit with confusion. The engineer has it the worst as far as retal goes by a MILE. The only thing that compares to the number of attacks nades put out is a thief spamming cluster bomb in melee range, but a smart one can choose to take the reduced damage from the normal hit and take a third as much retal. Even then that’s only in melee range.

You can also magnet through blocks and projectile reflects. I shed a tear every time I ruin a shelter, shield stance or sanctuary.
Feels kinda dirty.
And an instant cast on magnet would be ridiculously overpowered. As much as I love my engi I don’t wanna become a pullbot. The only thing that prevents it from being overpowered already is the animation and cast time. It’s still the best pull in the game ;D

Before I begin with my reply explaining why this is an absolute disgrace on the part of Anet, even though it is blatantly evident, let me first give you the story of ostricheggs. Ostricheggs is one of the most dedicated spvp players in the game, a genuinely good samaritan, that probably promotes and inspires more people to continue playing this game more than any of the “game breaking” pvp patch mishaps that Anet could ever hope to produce. In this thread, Ostrich is simply asking for any sort okittennowledgement, on behalf of you, Anet, to demonstrate to not only ostrich and the unknown number of players who have been suffering from this bug, but also to your entire pvp player base that you are aware of this bug. Even the famed and dreaded word of “soon” would be satisfactory in this particular situation in either this thread, or the thread in the bug report section pertaining to the same topic, which have both been posted for at least a duration of 5 days. But for whatever reason, you, Anet, have deliberately denied this simple gesture to Ostricheggs and the rest of the fine gentlemen affected by this absolute abomination. Now you might be wondering why I chose to include the word “deliberately”, which can simply be answered with the fact that threads that in any way, shape, or form criticise Anet are promptly and immediantly removed from the forums. Now in this situation you have a fine gentlemen, along with an unknown number of players, that are simply asking you, Anet, for a response, and have included no form of “badmouthing” anet in their request. What really boggles the mind here is that you, Anet, have many times in the past shown that you, Anet, are completely capable of swiftly taking actions, such as quickly taking down any “badmouthing” of your company, and then proceding to “banhammer” those individuals. To be honest I have no plausible explanation for you deciding to not acknowledge this problem. Is it possible that you, Anet, refuse to live up to your mishaps, all Anet employes took a nice long break for the easter holiday, Bluxgore is too busy playing Smite with former gw2 players, or perhaps Ostrich, and the rest of these fine gentlemen, are simply not high enough on the “Anet Hugging Totem Pole”, where if you schmooze your way far enough up you can land such benefits such as jobs, instantly shortening tournament “ready up stages” on request while on stream, or even make a show called state of the game where the past 8 installments are copy jobs. Now if you may Anet, please give this gentlemen what they have an entitlement to, and acknowledge that you are fully aware of this bug.

It’s not that confusion is too strong, it’s that an odd mechanic makes it instant death in certain situations.
Replace “confusion” with “retaliation” and you’ll begin to understand why I don’t think anything needs to be changed.
Just because it’s strong in certain situations does not mean that the benefits of having multi-hit attacks outweigh the risks. Confusion is substantially different in that players who quickly cast abilities take more damage, a more balanced and less nuanced problem than retal.
The question is would it be better for us if flame jet/grenades were only one hit versus 10/3? And if so, would it be balanced? I think the answer is yes. Multi hit attacks are unnecessarily punished; they don’t take more retal on the basis of the strengths of the abilities but on A-nets plain ol’ balancing ignorance.
Would grenades be overpowered if we only took 1 hit from retal? If the answer is no then why do we take the most retaliation damage of any class in the game?
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
Actually karla, in practice the trait is nearly worthless. When you reach 25% HP none of the conditions get removed that are already applied. If you get that low you more than likely already are getting screwed over pretty hard.
In a “standard” build up alchemy you’ll usually have 18k HP. That’s 4.5k HP worth of immunities. The problem then is how conditions actually work. They get far more effective the more you have, so having the trait activate at such low HP usually means that either you forcibly bring yourself down to below 4.5k HP and cleanse them all off, leaving yourself open to a quick death via physical damage, or you just die because the condis already applied tick you down.
Sorry for the sloppy writing. Just trying to explain that it’s not nearly as good as it sounds.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
I personally don’t think that it needs a limit per second or a scale dependent on the amount of damage you actually do. I just think it would be wise for them to take into consideration how multi-hit attacks work and balance it that way.
But at this point it’s probably too much to ask, so the best stop-gap solution would probably be scaling based on how much damage an attack does. If I throw one grenade barrage on a mesmer as HgH condis and it hits for 3k I’ll take 8x more damage than a thief hitting that same mesmer for 9k with backstab.
Again, the benefits (aegis/blind “immunity”) are far worse than the risks. I guess I should also add that the recent patch seems to have changed the death log a bit. Whenever I die in a team fight retal is at the top when there’s a guardian there. Tough times.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
I will continue bumping this until a DEV looks at it. It’s been 5 days and no response.
Civil disobedience for the win!
Seriously, this is a major issue for an already underserved and disenfranchised portion of the player base and a failure to at least acknowledge the issue will continue to alienate the serious PvPers in this game.
If you haven’t been able to find the root cause, then at least say so. Stuff like this is Blizzard-esque. I no longer buy any Blizzard titles, because it is unacceptable, and I believe A-net really is different at their core, but this is a poor demonstration of it.
The only reason why I haven’t started an open revolt in the mists is because it’s easter weekend. Even still, there are a-net reps that have been consistently replying to threads all weekend.
Please, tell us something. ANYTHING. Tell us that we’re not being ignored. I know someone had to have read this thread by now.

That was my point. It’s a counter to a single large attack. Retal was maybe intended to be a counter to fast attacks? Except it’s functionally a damage add, that’s just super effective vs. a few specific attacks.
I see Retaliation on my Guardian the same way as I see Confusion with my Engineer. It’s just a way to watch people kill themselves without me doing anything.
I don’t see the problem with this. If they want to change it to where it is dependent on the damage of the attack received, I’d be fine with that. But I think it’s fine as it is now too. Sorry.
I think the problem is that the rewards for having multiple attacks are too little in comparison to the damage that you take from retal. It comes down to reduced efficacy of blinds/aegis vs damage received from retal. The benefits are far worse than the punishment.
It’s a toss up. But it needs to be considered in the grand scheme of things. Of all the multi-hit attacks out there they vary so greatly in damage, AoE and general use that it’s clear that a-net probably never even factored it in balance.

You can be mindful about it, but mostly every zerg now have perma AoE retaliation from combo field and guardian.
I love this internet forum fantasy where bus vs. bus is even remotely coordinated.
It’s a 10 frames-per-second total kitten show. It’s literally just one crowd charging into another one and the larger one prevails. The smaller group either dies or preemptively runs back to their tower/keep to hold off until reinforces show up.
This is 99% of what WvW zerging is. Do you know why Jade Quarry has been #1 since as far as I can remember? Numbers. They have the largest number of dedicated WvW guilds, many of which are European. That’s it. There is no grand orchestration of skill going on. It’s just a mass of people running from one point to another and the larger mass prevails. We are “outmanned” nearly all the time except during primetime NA hours.
Yes, there are Guardians. Stand Your Ground gives Retaliation. It does not last 25 seconds. It lasts 5. Maybe 10 with Vengeful and Boon Duration runes. 10 seconds.
Not permanent.
Guardians are very good about sustaining Retaliation on themselves. But this idea propagated that a 50+ mass of people is constantly under the effect of Retaliation is so false.
Stand your ground, symbol of wrath, blast finishers into light fields. The latter is the biggest one, if people actually did it. All it takes is one thief and one guard and suddenly two grenades kills the engi.
But yes, I agree that zergs are brainless masses of idiots. Most don’t even know what retal is, let alone how to stack it. But for an engi all it takes is just one guardian who pops stand your ground and all dudes within 600 range will instagib him from retal.

Still kittened. We’re still kitten .

yea, I figured that’s what it was too nevirsaydie. It helps a bit I guess, but I think it gives the wrong impression. It was probably just the best available scrolling combat text thingy they had.

I had a talk with Dev a few minutes ago. The reason that we are not allowed in is because of our MMR. They had to block us temporarily until the ranking system is stable. our MMR is messing up the rankings. I guess we are just too bad kitten for tpvp.
If this is truely the case then why the kitten weren’t we told about it? I just can’t believe they’d simply block people from tournaments until further notice because their codes are kittened and NOT tell them. I wouldn’t mind it if I was told about it, but since they didn’t it leads me to believe it’s a bug that’s being put on a low priority because of the new event.
That’s insane If I’m being blocked then PLEASE tell me so I don’t lose my kittening mind. All I want is an answer. GW2 is the only game I play, tourneys are the only thing I do in GW2. It’s so aggravating not being able to play.
