In EU the number 1 server is 3 servers linked together. How would you do in a situation like that?

Is it jsut me or does axe 5 not give as much speed as it says? 50% increase is as fast as super speed, is it not?

1. super speed is 100% according to wiki
2. it prob feels slower because its affected by slows and cripples sicne its not a movement skill, but rather a channeled skill. (which sucks)

The 5 target limit was pretty big. I had forgotten about it. That was a WvW driven nerf, right?

Apart from the fact that it was a buff for everyone. Reducing hit cap helped reduce lag by alot.

Since this thread is very hypothetical I’ll add that if we get a 2H weapon for our first elite spec odds are we get only an offhand for the second. I’m guessing torch to represent (obviously) a blow torch.

Other good guesses would be a mace or axe I think.

That’s just as much of a hypothetical rule as anything else, tho. And keep in mind engineer have the lowest amount of weapons available and for us to get an off-hand it would have to work with the very garbage main-hand pistol. I think it would be easier to give us something to work with the shield or off-hand pistol instead.

Nope, it differs from class to class. Engineers cant deal damage while unvuln as an example, and the classes that can are balanced around it.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say I finished this first mission of the second episode of LWS3 and it blew my mind, it was incredible!
The dialog reveals were awesome, the fight was very fun and the music during the fight was outstanding. Loved every second of it, especially the easter eggs of a certain asura, it was hilarious.

I can only say thank you so much for this piece of gameplay

Apparently they saw a population decrease right fter the previous tournies, which they explained with people burning themselves out during the tourny.
I guess there won’t be a tournament before they figure that out, but who knows

You might have missed this, but the past few months WvW has been the top prio for anet.

Except it hasn’t, they have left a small team on WvW but have moved the 1 dev that showed some understanding of the mode to the xpac. No-one in any actual authority at anet makes any statements about it not even the person who we were told a while ago is in charge of the WvW team.

The xpac is the no. 1 priority for anet.

Except it has, and thats their own words – look it up. WvW has gotten far more attention than any other game type the past months…. Whether you like the kind of attention it got or not is subjective and I couldnt care less what you think about it. But nonetheless its gotten alot of attention.

Heya,

Yeah, so apparently when I said weeks and months I must have meant years…sheesh!!

Something about rolling off of one expansion and right onto another has a way of making one shift one’s priorities. Nevertheless, I promised to get you the Orrian syllabary in its entirety and so I’m attaching it here. We’d talked about issuing a blog post or something similar to explain the alphabet’s origins, etc. but truthfully I think I’ve made you guys wait long enough. My sincerest apologies for letting this linger long enough as it is.

I also haven’t forgotten the awesome work of our intrepid scholars. I’m making sure that they will be getting some in-game recognition soon [sup]tm[/sup].

Here some things that others have suggested in other threads:

- make 2-5 non-ground targetable/make them some form of aoe
- make the game prioritize other skills while channeling #1 skill (right now u can’t cancel the #1 by starting another skill"
-increased healing scaling (altho i personally think its fine atm :P im in the minority!!!)

If so, yes it’s aoe, guild groups usesually use 2 engineers in gvgs to apply tons of super speed to move around the enemy bombs

Yea it missed the Q mark.

Well I mean it does say “Gyros grant superspeed” and most tooltips usually say “for allies” but boo Anet for not documenting their game properly. =p

Haha yeah, so many skills are so unclear even for veteran players. I can only imagine what those new ones would think :p

I’m confused by the explosives hate. Did the grenade damage seem low or something?

Okdk archon. Stealth gyro is to break target for my driver and an oh kitten button . The build is only ran in guild groups so no need for condi clears imo. Yes retal hurts that’s why it’s not advisable to just spam one and use nades. Think of nades as more necro wells than rapid fire mortar personally. A guardian can really hurt himself with gs in a group with retal but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t use it. Same concept with nades.

Final salvo is also my the oops stab and lightning fields on water regroups is a l2p issue not a final salvo issue. personally it’s the guardians usually effing up the water regroups. Hgh with my build doesn’t help me. But iron blood helps when I’m balls deep with the tank train also allows me to run relatively low armor for front line and put those points in damage.

And pug zergs are pug zergs kitten those jokers.

i can agree with this tbh, apart from the nade kit, toolkit with 13sec cd is too valuable to let go of imo

at the end of the day whatever floats ur boat.

running heal gyro, dmg reduce gyro (forgot the name…..) and sneak gyro provides rly nice speed buffs for frontline. And I agree with sneak gyro over the toehr elites for many reasons; stab, speed and stealth if even for 3sec

Alot of succesfull engineers that are running in tight guild groups tend to run either inventions,alch,scrapper or tools,alch,scrapper.

personally i wouldnt run scrapper in a pug zerg, however I defo would run it with a rly good guild

The Reward track has the Rare version not the Exotic.

Nope, they are exotic lvl 80 gear, its the Mist forged weapon track that gives rare weapons!

It’s not mistforged, it’s only Hero Weapons. Mistforged are the exotic version that are currently unavaible unless you still have tournament tickets from 2 years ago to buy the stuff you need to make them on mystic forge.

Arena Net posted somewhere they intent to return the Mistforged Hero Weapons as well introduce the Triumphant Hero Armor as a reward that isn’t tied to tracks. They just never said when or how.

That’s actually some pretty good looking armor. I hope its not Ascended only though because I’ll never get ascended.

It kind of reminds me of some of the cool GW1 armor. I actually like GW1 armor better than GW2 so this would be great.

I can understand if this never gets implemented but I got bored and had some downtime so I decided to come up with something.

I just want them to not be totally useless even if it is only for PvE, and offer Ideas in-case A-net has been trying to think of ideas (if this is even on a to-do list of any type.)

If anything It gives me a reason to chat about something on the forums and get some constructive ideas (hopefully).

About your idea, I’m worried about how that would interact AoEs and Cleave affects. Would the turrets become a static background item that become basically intangible by everyone but their Engineer, and would auto-tool (if it came back) passively bring it back up and running after 1 minute of being left alone?

I gues I never had the hp regen trait in my theorycrafting. One way you could solve it is by making everything connected to the turrets (traits, buffs etc) go inactive until you’ve manually repaired it.
Regarding the aoe problem, there are a few way to implement active defenses and reduce inc dmg in different ways.

eg: making the reflect bubble pulse aslong as the turrets are up (unless they’re inactive) with maybe 10sec downtime.

I’ve been playing around with healing Engi, and realized something disturbing last night. Now I quickly figured out Soothing Detonation was pretty darn bad. Then last night I looked up it’s actual calculated value and realized it’s worse than Water staff1 on Ele… yes, it’s LESS healing than a 1 skill… so add that to the list of needs, that trait needs some buffing at least in PVE (I could see people not wanting that in PVP where sustain is already a complaint).

Add to that the fact that u cant interrupt medkit #1 by start casting another spell e.g. toss elixir B.
You’re basically stuck in medkit #1 animation even tho ur in danger….

Interesting idea, however I don’t know about the static play style. They’ve always tried to move away from that, even tho I like the camping play style myself I don’t rly see them going down that path again :P

An idea that I just came to think about is:
Turrets cannot die – when they reach 1 hp they become inactive and must be fully repaired e.g. with tool kit to work again.

Picking up turrets gives them a 5 sec cd before u can place them down again.

Ofc the bloody healing turret is messing up all ny ideas too

  • #4 Self-Buff, 1s 3/4s cast time, gain fury for 5s, mightx5 for 5s, and attacks become unlockable for 5s 6s. 30s cooldown.

I like most of it, just made a small adjustment that I feel would make the unblockable keep its consistency compared to other skills that provide the same buff.

If the source of the projectiles are under the effect of unblockable, it won’t block them.

The following suggestions were made above when it comes to Utlity Goggles .

A few suggestions were made:
A. Utility Goggles will also give immunity to and retaliation
B. Utility Goggles will also give immunity to weakness and make skills unblockable
C. Utility Goggles will also give immunity to weakness and make skills unblockable, cooldown reduced to 15s

A few questions when it comes to balance:

1. Are those proposed changes in addition to my suggestion?
2. Does suggestion C include the stun break, or any of the other old effects? Wouldn’t this be too strong, mainly in comparison to Nothing Can Save You for example?
3. I entered a strawpoll in the first post at utility Goggles. Would you all be so kind to add your vote?
4. Would you also like to show your toughts on as many as the proposed changes, give all of your ideas of how it should be. This way I could make strawpolls for each gadget and suggestion to show what the engineer community (that is active on the forums) thinks about the changes.

My suggestion about unblockable was “blind immune, unblock, stunbreak” think that would be a fine skill even without the proposed immunity to weakness or retal. Also even without the reduced cd

Tried to google about necromancer underwater skills but only found a thread about the poor selection of elite skills.

This have been bugging me for quite awhile.
What I wonder is if reaper shroud can have the same skills both on land and underwater, why cant the normal shroud?

Since you lose the transfusion skill 4 when going under water as base necro for ages.

All reaper shroud skills work underwater

Instead of looking out for certain skills for each class, as a beginner I would recommend looking out for certain cathegories for all classes, such as; stun breakers, evades, invulns etc.

Those skills has fairly high cd in any rotation.

Like your concept. Not to destroy your work but I’ve thought about possible utilitie skills for necro elite specs that I would find fun to use, and interesting.

How about banners?

Banners focused of dealing damage and debuffing rather than the warriors buffing banngers.

Banners that apply chill, or blindness or pulsing damage?

Don’t see how banners might deal damage, but debuffing banners sounds pretty good. However, look at the warrior. Does anyone use banners ever? Banners, like conjured weapons and spirit weapons, are in very bad place and are pretty much useless.
If banners would get updated/reworked on warrior into something useful, then yes – banners could be awesome tool, pulsing conditions and stuff.

I was thinking of reduced cooldowns and reduced duration compared to the warriors banners, making them more fficient in fights and also open up the possibility for dealing dmg

Ofcourse some QoL changed could be made to banners in general; making them quicker to pick (not rooting you)
