Oh, cool, glad you got this. It’s pretty clear that we outnumbered Agg in all those fights (30 PYRO vs 30 Agg, but we had some [DERP]/Pugs with us, too). But the fights were all fun, and I think we learned a lot from our practice GvG after, even if we got wrecked.

Hope to see Agg’s perspective soon.

I honestly don’t get why they don’t just make it so that there’s a limit to how many people can be on the map depending on the lowest population server there. For example, server A only has 20 people on, so server B and C are only allowed to have 20 people go in WvW. The super stacked bandwagon servers would eventually get sick of the longer queues and filter down into the lower populated ones until all things were even. No one likes going up against 100 vs 20 and being outmanned even in their primetime.

Nah, that’s too much.

However, I suggest something similar: remove the outmanned buff, and when one server would normally get it, queue the map for the other servers. Probably have a hard cap on the lowest numbers, though, like 30 if there are 0 defenders.

Nice! You got the second half of that amazing fight between east and garrison. We had outmanned at the start of it, but I think Duke zoned in mid fight, so we lost outmanned, or “outnumbered,” I guess.

That was such a good fight. We started with a lot of pugs, who died pretty early on, then it was just PYRO+ME deathball with VR backline support. Probably 30 PYRO, 15 ME, 10ish VR vs two full queues. Don’t think any PYRO died.

We should have a video of one of our guardian’s perspectives up in a day or two. We’re bad at editing.

To elaborate: full queue vs about 25 PYRO and 15 ME. ALS was the only organized group I noticed. We wiped them about 5 times open field, 3-4 times at the initial outer breach, and at least 7 or 8 times on inner. So they decided to build about 10 trebs to take down literally every wall and gate before pushing and wiping again a few times. Finally, a few DORP came from another map and we pushed them off.

We still have the keep. Yoloswag.

If you’re not having fun because you’re losing I don’t know how you’ve lasted on Maguuma for any length of time. You can’t play 24/7, so why worry about coverage and ppt? Capping stuff is fun sometimes, but it kind of sucks that the new meta is hoping to avoid a fight to do it. If you’re not into the pvp part of it then I doubt you’ll have much fun in these new random matchups.

I don’t mind losing – as you said – we don’t always win. I can also buy the comment that finding fights and doing well (and not the ppt) is the best part of the game. But so many times when people use that excuse – it sounds like – an excuse.

The point here is that these matches of late are far too lopsided to encourage any type of game play that would be considered fun. An even fight is the best fight. Then it’s skill on skill. The fight is then decided by thinking and quick maneuvers and team minded play. I will grant that the opposite scenario is just as bad.

It’s the even fights that we need. The ones where the game isn’t decided until the last minute. The ones where the match is decided by who played best. Who doesn’t mind losing in a situation like that, to a worthy opponent. I don’t mind at all. I’m just saying that Dragonbrand is NOT that worthy opponent. Who’s fault is that – not Dragonbrand. They’re doing what they can to make fun where there isn’t any- in the absence of equal numbers (equal fights). They cannot help that they outnumber us or that their time slots are filled to the brim. The fault lies with Anet! Plain and simple. The original post was about how it sucks that we’re up against T2 servers – and it does. Period.

Meh, the scoring system is a measure of population coverage, not skill. There’s nothing we can do about population coverage, so why worry about it? Just play for the fights. If you play for PPT, and you’re not a commander of any note, then you’re wasting your time worrying about things outside of your control.

We queued one map tonight and had three or four commanders total on hand.
We lost everything in EB so PYRO left DBBL and went to EB and took it all back and then we moved to MAG and lost everything. Yuuup.

A better guild (like ME) would have divided those numbers are have tried to hold a few key keeps. It’s not hard, given your proficiency at siege.

ME was actually with us on DB and then came to EB with us… but okay.

Last night we had about 30 PYRO on, not a small number by any means, but that’s all we had after midnight, period. ME ran 15-20 until about that time, BURN had 20ish. Dunno about other guilds but after we left DB BL, I didn’t see any guild raids except for the 10 or so ME who were still online. It’s not a big deal, since VR and DORP don’t really raid during the weekends generally anyways.

Unrelated, but when did FIRE get so big, and where was TG last night? I miss Bronade.

It’d be nice to have real match ups again. Getting tired of fair weathers coming out in a zerg and giving my server a bad name of running from field fights. KH thrives on field fights and hates zerging, but it’s hard to find fights when zergs steal the life from our opponents and they stop showing up.

It was nice to run into KH being split off from the CERN/TSL/PINK/whatever the hell zergs all night tonight. Props for not going full blob.

I was only ever addressing the hypothetical solutions to balancing Tier 2. Bear in mind, even if TC gets to T1, whoever gets bumped down will cause the same problem in T2.

What remains true is that the least radical, most logical course of action for balancing T2 is for TC to disperse, that was all I was saying.

The competitive 6 servers is hopelessly optimistic, I’m afraid. What is in the realm of possibility is further detaching Tier 1 from Tier 2 and below by not having a “1.5” server. It will get stale for T1, but the system will favour gluing BG/JQ/SoR together, and keeping Tier 2/3 together. On the slim chance someone goes into T1, you’ll have a blowout for a week. But it’ll overall be more balanced than the 5 weeks of steamrolling T2 in TC’s current state.

If this week’s match up was DB-Mag-SOS, you guys will face the EXACT same problem. DB will just roll over all of you. So what’s the difference? What’s your next plan? Disperse DB also?

Same thing with any of JQ, BG, SOR or FA facing Mag and SOS. The exact same thing will happen. So what are you going to do disperse them all?

I do feel sorry for you guys. But it is all Anet’s fault. Instead of disperse the bigger server to fit your needs, why don’t you transfer yourself to a lower tier server so you can enjoy yourself there?

You say it is all Anet’s fault, yet in your signature you show how your guild originated on SBI, then moved to Kaineng and are now on TC. It would appear your guild jumps ship when a server starts to implode (as a result of exactly what your guild is doing). Ironic..

Talk to IRON and ask them whose fault is it that they have to leave.

Honestly, I like matchups like this. Reset night during these is never fun, but we shed all of our fairweathers throughout the week.

TC will likely have a dramatic drop in numbers after the weekend, as most servers do, and we’ll be able to get some fights that aren’t 80 vs 30-40, hopefully.

Either way, I’m impressed by CERN. I don’t really like well stacking, because it’s super frontloaded, and you guys pretty much always outnumbered us, so I couldn’t tell quite how skillful you were, but you were still incredibly competent, and didn’t really make any mistakes when we were fighting. So, props to you guys. I was pretty impressed by KH as well.

Anyways, we’ll see how this match goes. Our fairweathers will die out, and we probably won’t even have that many keeps until tomorrow afternoon, but we’ll stabilize eventually.

We do it after every GvG, it’s a tradition. Normally we wipe to the spectators + guild we just fought, but this time we won. We consider it more bags for the victor, I guess.

It was a joke, more than anything, though. I hope that no one took it seriously.
