Those two that exploited DB on YBBL after Yak’s took it over have been reported with screenshots. We have also noticed a lot more exploiting in this tier compared to T3.
Are you talking about the spot that guardians and warriors can leap to for hiding? How is that an exploit?
I applaud all of these changes and find it funny that people are already complaining about them, not even a few hours later.
Maguuma keep….doing whatever it is you do
Mostly we pretend to be ducks.
Didn’t Emry win every match 4 weeks in a row until they met us again?
That’s because zergs don’t always win matchups.
I can honestly tell you that our best players weren’t on during reset.
not to be conceited
But I wasn’t on during reset as well as a lot of the commanders and players who typically control the WvW maps throughout the week.
Yeah, I wasn’t on during reset, either, and I think Invalid was late as well.
Sometimes I feel like siege isn’t a good equalizer because supply is so hard to get when you’re behind. WvW really feels like a raw numbers battle, and that makes it a little boring, tbh. Why even bother with the siege and the keep walls if we’re effectively going to have a drawn out deathmatch.
I think that arenanet really needs to change the way it treats supply, because it is completely impossible to defend when you’re significantly outnumbered, and I feel like that’s not how defense is supposed to work at all.
That one PYRO thief
Haha! That’s Bruiche, for sure. Whenever someone says, “Bruiche is down,” our first response is, “You must be mistaken.”
Glad to see his legend has spread.
PYRO and EVOH rock, wish we had them in Mumble more. Haven’t played with FINE (or StS) too much yet, but looking forward to it!
We join in whenever we don’t have that many on, but when we have enough to do something sneaky, we don’t want to risk a spy hearing it.
We like to think we’re Maguuma’s x-factor. Or some of us do. Well, just me, really.
Ask Invalid what we (PYRO) are doing, he normally is involved.
Yeah, I’m pretty surprised Maguuma is actually being pretty chill about the whole the match. But a lot of our server’s hostility comes from being in Tier 7 for a while after being abandoned by half our WvW population and trudging through the down times. We also always lose during the morning to any server, so while the modest players are desensitized, most of them are still bitter. We’ve also gotten a lot of new transfers recently riding the bandwagon, not sure they represent us.
Shadowmoon and the main guilds at least appreciates the match up. This 1v1 has been incredibly challenging to us. The thing that stymies us the most is that Maguuma is willing to dedicate defenders at every spot and show discipline in responding to defense which is what was missing in Tier 6-7. We see a lot iLL, GOON, and SFD responding in force without trickling in, and apparently our old friends, FINE too.
What, no PYRO or EVOH? No respect, y’hear? No respect at all.
I kid. We like playing you guys, hope the rest of the week stays this fun.
I’m really impressed by Ehmry Bay this week, but I’m extremely surprised by their night team not existing.
Generally Maguuma gets destroyed at Oceanic times, does decent during primetime, and destroys during European primetime (11 AM – 6 PM EST). It’s 6 now, which is when our European players start go to to bed, but we’re stilling winning by quite a large margin.
It will be interesting to see what happens tonight at primetime. Glhf all.

What I’m saying is that the bonus points accumulated per tick after one hour would heavily favor the primetime immediately after Oceanic: European.
Look at the Darkhaven/Maguuma/NSP battle right now. Darkhaven totally controls all three maps for about 6-8 hours (normally starting around 5 AM EST). That means that the next prime time (which would be Europeans during the afternoon) will get all of those bonus points. Maguuma always controls about 75%-90% of the map around 2 PM EST. So, they get all of the juicy bonus points that Darkhaven has accrued overnight. Which, by your system, is around 2000 bonus points every day. That eventually accounts for over 14k more points for Maguuma.
I’m not saying it’s a bad system, but it unfortunately heavily favors servers with a European presence since they will probably retake the maps entirely, and it will be less risky for them, because they will hold those points for less.
Unless I’m misunderstanding you, and servers get more bonus points for holding something longer, not making their keeps worth more? If that’s the case, then you’re still rewarding night capping.
I’m not against this idea… but I see a few holes in it. If I’m misunderstanding, I’m sorry. I can tell you put a lot of work into this idea.

The bonuses that keeps accrue the longer they’re held. You see, Maguuma, my server, has a large European presence. So we dominate pretty much 95% between noon and 3 PM EST. Our Europeans would get all of the bonus points that the Oceanic players had built up between 5 AM and noon EST, giving us huge bonuses.

The biggest problem I see is that there will be a big rush in the morning/afternoon, and whomever has the best Europeans will start winning in the same way that Oceanics are now, point-wise.
“Did someone say grub?” – Maguuma
On a more positive note, shoutout to [RE] from Darkhaven and [Os] from NSP. I’m guild leader of [PYRO] from Maguuma, and we had to hold Wildcreek from you guys about 12 times on Friday night. Very organized guilds, and I hope you guys the best of luck.
That being said, I wish Maguuma had more of a night crew. But hey, it happens.
The most recent patch made rams take 40 supply… is this intended?
Lol, is that the same [MERC] that spent 4+ hours, 4 superior trebs, 2 regular trebs, 4 rams, 8 catapults, and 2 siege golems to take Ogrewatch from 5 members of [PYRO] last night?
Good luck, I guess.
I am from HOD and can’t wait til we drop down to tier 4 or worse since that’s where we belong. But whatever happens, I will not transfer off this server and am going to stay on it.
My thoughts are this…. You are just going to have to wait it out like we will because at the moment, Anet is not going to stop the transfers, and won’t manually pick the next matches, and so we got weeks of agony to endure which I won’t be on… I will be back on Aion until we drop down to where we belong.
The major thing’s that need to stop is the week matches and go back to 24 hour matches to 3 days max, and the transfers but other than that.. Just wait it out… I am sure Kaineng will beat us but hopefully we get some actually good people over to HOD and some good guilds come over tho I doubt anyone wants to be on a losing server and low populated server and that has been proven with Kaineng(forgive me if I spelled their server name wrong).
I agree with you about the 1-3 day matchups. Servers are becoming good or bad overnight, and one week matchups don’t represent balance. Being stomped for a month straight just isn’t fun for anyone.
Not only is the outmanned bonus insufficient motivation, it is way too stingy. You need to be severely outnumbered before it shows up, even 2:1 doesn’t seem to do it.
The orb question is a tricky one. You want something that brings relevance to the border maps, and I’m not sure swapping orb/outmanned bonuses would achieve that.
If we did swap the bonuses (with scaling of the XP/karma bonus with number of orbs held), it might work if that bonus also applied to PvE on the server. This would be a two-fold advantage …
1. it would encourage more PvE people to come in to try for the orb when we don’t have it.
2. when a server does have all the orbs it might bleed those people away from WvW to take advantage of the bonuses in a PvE zone.
This is what I was thinking. Switch the orb bonuses with outmanned, and then have it apply to PvE as well. If some of the Cursed Shore/Straits of Devastation zergs came to borderlands once in awhile maybe we wouldn’t have instant queues. I just feel like rewarding the winning team with more strength is a bit of an MLB approach, when we should try to have WvW be more like the NFL to keep the teams somewhat balanced so that all of the matches are fun for everyone.
I mean, that’s what this is supposed to be, fun, and seeing as its the longest lasting end-game we’re going to have, we need it to be fun for this game to be successful. Unfortunately, right now, getting stomped is not fun.
On Maguuma, I’d say Invalid Password.
Looking at this site, it’s clear to me that there isn’t a single close matchup this week. It’s obvious who the winner is in every single matchup, and has been since Saturday.
My server, Maguuma, has gone about a month without a close matchup at all. We are either dominating, or being dominated, and in my opinion, the orbs are a big part of that. Why is it that the server that is strong enough to hold all 3 orbs rewarded with more strength? The outmanned buff is worthless, as well, and doesn’t encourage anyone.
I’m willing to bet that not a single server is having fun right now in WvW, and that’s really unfortunate. The winning servers have nothing to do, and the losing servers just get spawn camped.
In my opinion, there are a few issues. Free server transfer is probably one of the biggest. Sea of Sorrows, just last week, was a server that Maguuma could have competed against, but now they’re worlds above our level. It’s made the matchmaking system mean nothing, because people just transfer. Henge of Denravi seems to have lost the vast majority of their guilds in a week, and now they’re dropping, so they have 3-4 weeks of beatdowns to look forward to.
The matchmaking system in general is flawed, too, because it doesn’t seem to take into account the points won each week, just the win or loss. So the close matchups get screwed up by the winners moving too high up, and the no question matchups don’t get pushed up enough.
I would love to see the orbs removed, or switched with the outmanned bonus.
Thoughts?
They’re still sort of around. Personal StoryThere's a level 80 personal story quest that has you talking to an Avatar of Grenth, who I believe is actually one of the Seven Reapers, so Grenth is still very much active. He even wants you to kill this risen priest of Grenth so that the priest will return to Grenth.
I tried to read every post, so I’m not sure if someone mentioned this already, but humans are by far the most magical race.
I know what you’re thinking, “What about Sylvari?” Despite being made of magic, or birthed from magic, or whatever the canon is on Sylvari, they are not nearly as proficient at magic as humans are. There are many, many mages from Kryta who have been practicing magic longer than the Sylvari have even existed as a race.
On top of that, if some sources are to be believed, the human gods were the original source of all magic to the other races. Now, I do find this hard to believe when you take into account ancient races like the Jotun, Mursaat, and Seers, but I’m willing to ignore that. If the human gods are powerful enough to create the bloodstones and limit /everyone’s/ magic, then they are the strongest.
Think about Orr. Who are the most powerful servants of Zhaitan? The risen priests of the human gods. This is because the human gods have favored humanity with the strongest magic. Even Queen Jennah is arguably one of the strongest, if not the strongest mesmer in the game, Logan practically invented guardians, and humans were the first necromancers (based on Dhuum not allowing any to really exist until Grenth took his place).
There’s also the fact that every human god, as far as we know, was once human themselves. That means that humans are so powerful that they can ascend unto godhood and affect every race. Grenth, for instance, affects death everywhere, not just among humans.
So, in my opinion, humans have magic as their greatest strength, with their ability to defend territories (making walls like Ebonhawke or the Northern Great Wall) coming as a close second.
Basically the plan was bad. The group acted like selfish children instead of trained soldiers. Its everybody’s fault and they need to all grow up
Ding ding ding.
Except maybe Rytlock and Caithe. They acted relatively mature.
The way Rytlock stormed off at the end wasnt particularly mature.
I guess I meant before/during the fight.

Snaff died because of Eir and Zojja’s own ignorance. Logan had very little to do with it.
No, I do not agree. Glint had a job to do and she died for that. Everyone had a job, a role in that situation. Destiny’s Edge have always been forced to have clearly defined roles because of their limited number.
Logan was supposed to be the defence specialist, and is not logistically possible that the lack of a so important piece has not compromised the work of all yhe others.
This is the main problem of a small, organized group: Missing piece = 90% risk of failure.
They had hours to prepare. Glint did her job, but it’s not like she couldn’t have collapsed two doors before the fighting started.
The fact is, Zojja was able to hold one door by herself. If you put EVERYONE on one door, then it would’ve been a lot easier to hold. They didn’t need Logan, they just needed a better plan.
This has been rattling around in my head for awhile now, but I think it’d be really cool if ArenaNet’s next book was about a specific player character in GW2.
The personal story system is completely set up for something like this, and there could be a big contest, with people voting on who has the most interesting personal story.
The stories branch out so much at the beginning until around Orr, that it would probably be a unique experience for anyone to read other than the player it’s based off of. It’d also be a good way to wrap up Personal Story/Dungeon SpoilersZhaitan and the re-unification of Destiny's Edge in book form.
Thoughts?
The problem was not Logan. It was Eir, Snaff and Zojja. Put down your pitchforks for a second, and allow me to elaborate.
Clearly, had Logan not left, Destiny’s Edge would have succeeded. It would’ve bought just enough time for Rytlock to kill Kralkatorrik, but, because Logan had left, Caithe was unable to hold her entrance alone, and Snaff died. Here’s where my issue lies… why the hell were there still three entrances?
They have Snaff, genius, Zojja, genius-in-training, and Eir, master tactician, and no one thinks to say, “Man, guarding three entrances with 6 people is hard, maybe we should get Glint to collapse one or two of them.” I mean, really, it’s Glint’s sanctuary. She built it, and presumably, she could have either closed two of the entrances, or collapsed them.
Glint was about the size of the Shatterer, clearly big enough and strong enough to do this. Hell, Big Zojja or Snaff could’ve probably done it instead of digging three giant trenches. Zojja alone was able to hold one of the three entrances, so wouldn’t it have been infinitely better to have all four of them guarding one entrance?
That’s not even the whole problem, either. Why didn’t Eir ask Logan what he was doing, instead of screaming, “Snaff! Don’t let him do this thing that he may or may not be magically compelled to do!” Obviously, it panicked him, and caused him to act impulsively. If they’d just stopped and talked to each other like adults for 10 seconds, they might’ve been able to come up with a compromise, or even a better plan.
For one, why did Destiny’s Edge (other than maybe Rytlock) need to be that close to Kralkatorrik anyways? Couldn’t Snaff have gone through the portal with Logan, safely miles away from danger? It just doesn’t seem like a master plan to me to just say “Eh, guard the doors.”
TL;DR – The plan was bad and would’ve been abysmally simple to correct. Snaff died because of Eir and Zojja’s own ignorance. Logan had very little to do with it.
My elite just healed minions instead of the necro I tried to save.

I think it’s because all AOE spells are capped at affecting 5 things… which is kind of stupid, tbh, especially if pets are included in that.
It wasn’t a decision at all. In the book, Jennah enchants him with a bond that essentially forced him to come to her aid.
I was playing around with traits, and decided to make a spirit weapon build, when I noticed something funny.
There’s an adept Virtues trait called “Improved Spirit Weapon Duration,” that I applied. However, I noticed that when I equipped it, the tooltip of “Hammer of Wisdom”, “Sword of Justice”, and “Shield of the Avenger,” did not update to have a new duration (supposedly 50% longer, so 20 seconds should’ve changed to 30, 30 to 45, etc). The trait still works, as I tested it and found the timings were changed, but the tooltip is not updated whenever I apply the trait.
Another bug I noticed is that while the adept Zeal trait, “Spirit Weapon Mastery,” changes the cooldown of the summoning of spirit weapons, it does not affect the cooldown of the commands. The tooltip for that trait states that it reduces all spirit weapon skills recharge by 20%, but it does not indicate not effecting commands. I’m not sure if this is a bug or a design flaw, but it should be addressed in the tooltip.
I was going to provide a screenshot, but for some reason when I take a screenshot while hovering over a tooltip, it does not show up in the screenshot.
