It’s sad you don’t step up to your facts , why didn’t get a lil closer , pressed Ctrl and checked the so called " open field siege ", if we wanted to fight you we would of gone there , we don’t use siege when we outnumber you or even numbers or when you outnumber us atleast when i run it ,don’t low down from PYRO even more , because i like it when we have open field fights with you guys and i think we already did tonight in CD BL didn’t we ? fun night in CD BL and YB BL , but in CD BL “hence” the water at the centre island ,you guys kept chasing us there and we were just jumping in the water and then came out and we fought and..you already know what happened i don’t need to brag about it and then all the other fights all around and i hope we left an impression we getting the hang of it.

Meh, not really. From the matches I’ve played, such shenanigans usually occur after we are pretty lax about the situation. It’s an after party victory celebration not a display of incompetence.

I really miss when FA was good at open field.

Hell, BT practically taught us how to fight open field, at least for a lot of us. Even RET was a bit of a challenge for awhile, but I barely see them anymore.

I’ve gotta say, I wasn’t originally impressed by FIRE from DB, but they’re getting a lot better, though it’s hard to tell when they run with 40+ others. Their movement is really good, and they have good recovery. TG, I haven’t seen you all week, PYRO misses you.

Also, where’s Agg this week? I was looking forward to some rematches.

Oh well, pretty good week all in all. I still miss BT/AoN/RET from FA. The remaining guilds aren’t kitten or anything, but they just don’t really stand out to me anymore.

I missed that part, but I was in DBBL a bit tonight, and Mag (led by [PYRO]) made us look quite silly the entire time. You guys were a train of “omfg I died again” tonight, so I’m not surprised one bit you ended up with our garrison.

Actually, iLL was leading the pubs on DBBL most of the night. [PYRO] was just kind of helping out here and there, otherwise doing our own thing. A few good fights, though, for sure.

This is a little late, but it was from last night while 30 [PYRO] held off 60+ FA with no siege. We wiped you guys 4 times, I think. Once with siege, every other time without. Didn’t get many videos, but here’s a fun one, with commentary from Xela.

Just so you know Mag, each time you /laugh after wiping a group when you have triple numbers you kill a puppy.

If it makes you feel any better, I spent an hour or so watching my fellow Maguumans get wiped up by equal numbers. It seems a month or so of PvDing against weak servers has made a good portion of my comrades lazy, supercilious and terrible at open field combat.

I felt on the opposite end today, as myself, being from dragonbrand, am use to fighting in open combat much of the time, especially in the last 5 weeks vs TC and FA. It felt weird today attacking Woodhaven on Magumas borderland, and whilst they put up a hell of a fight, eventually after exhausting supply and siege we broke down the gate with PvDoor… lots… of pvdoor….. uhgggg

Well, there is a big difference between our oceanic crew that you were fighting (by oceanic I mean 3 Australians and a bunch of NA insomniacs and early birds) and our daytime karma train zergball. Our oceanic crew is well versed in doing a lot with little resources, whereas our daytime NA karma train just throws people at an objective until it falls, or just moves to an easier target.

Oh god the biggest part about that sentence is it feels so true. I thought that was my imagination, the huge difference in attitudes from your oceanic to NA is a bit strange for the most part though i’ve seen those NA rushes it seems the strategy is just attrition by clogging keeps with their dead bodies and continuing to rush zergs until finally something breaks after a couple of hours

Yeah, from noon EST to about 6, we only really have a giant karma train zergball. After 6 PM EST is when most of our organized guilds log in.

I don’t really appreciate people badtalking [Agg] in here… they’re a really good guild, and I feel like [PYRO] learned a lot from them in our GvG. 20v20 is pretty tough for us, so we hope to improve.

If anyone else is up for some friendly GvGs, just PM me. I’d love to get some 5v5s and 10v10s going, too, though.

I’m not really disappointed in the numbers, I’m disappointed that DB runs and turtles in the nearest tower unless they have an overwhelming numerical advantage. You’d think maybe DB could use this week to actually learn to PvP but somehow I doubt that’s going to be the case.

I really shouldn’t be responding to Calvin, but I have two players in my guild alone who are consistently top 200, and [PYRO] premades regularly go against very highly ranked players.

The volatility in the leaderboards is pretty crazy, though, so it’s easy to be booted out. One of my guildies made it to 400ish on the leaderboards one day, and was at 60th percentile the next. After 10 game winstreaks, I’ve personally gone up against players from Curse NA and Team Paradigm, and my MMR isn’t even super high. The only way to stay on the leaderboard for awhile is to not solo queue ever, and not mass game. Or have a smurf account purely for the leaderboards.

Tl;dr: leaderboards don’t mean squat.

I’m a little disappointed.

Sure, DB has 50,000,000 players at all times. Sure, their oceanics can fortify all four maps while we sleep. Sure, they siege creep in 50vs25 fights.

However.

We cannot change any of that, as a server. Maguuma cannot force DB to not play. We cannot forcibly disband NNK, and send all the bandwagoners to their home servers. Complaining about it will not help.

On reset night, [PYRO] had about 25-30 on most of the night, and without upgrade advantages, I feel like we did pretty well. Today, however, when people logged on and saw everything fortified, they just gave up. I’m not going to name names here, but I’m used to seeing certain guilds running general numbers. Last matchup, around this time, we could queue up two maps during our primetime relatively easily. Tonight, I feel like [PYRO]‘s 25 made up about 30-40% of Maguuma’s population at times, with [DERP] and a few others making up the rest.

Giving up just because you know we’ll lose isn’t fun for anyone. It isn’t fun for me, it isn’t fun for you, it isn’t fun for DB or SBI.

Tomorrow night, [PYRO] will be doing guild missions, and hopefully running with 40+ around 10 PM EST. I invite any and all DB guilds to try their hand at us then. If you were on at reset and saw what 25 [PYRO] could do, you’ll love to see what we can do with 50.

Since this week will probably be terrible score-wise, I might as well try to set up some GvG’s.

We included the laurel cost to prevent the economy from suddenly being blown out and to not invalidate the ways PvE players can get ascended items already. This system means that it is faster to get them in WvW, especially for players who already have badges, without being so much faster that everyone only gets them in this manner. As for the difficulty of acquiring laurels in WvW, we have taken steps to address that, including the fact that there will always be 3 daily achievements that are WvW specific. Speaking personally, I’ve been able to achieve my dailies in WvW even without that change, but this should make it even easier.

Yes, because 25 days to get one ring is much faster than 10.

EDIT: Also, what economy? Badges and ascended gear can’t be traded to other players…

I think the laurel price is too low, and the badge price too high! It takes at least 2 hours in WvW to get 250 badges, and I think that’s too much! No one actually wants to fight players in WvW, obviously.

We should force the WvW players to pay 45 laurels minimum!

Thank you for making Ascended rings 25 laurels. If there’s anything I have in excess, it’s laurels, not badges.

It’s not as if I have 5000 badges sitting in my inventory and bank, taking up space. It’s not as if I don’t have 150+ laurels just laying around so I can gear out all my alts. Nope, I was totally ready, and I’m surprised that this patch made them only cost 25 laurels! Such a discount!

I love waiting 5 months for the same gear PvE players get, and then having to wait ANOTHER 2+ MONTHS TO GEAR OUT MY CHARACTERS! Thanks, Anet, we definitely know what aspects of the game you care about, and what aspects you don’t.

WvW is the only successful dynamic endgame content in the game, and I’m thrilled that you’re doing a great job of ruining that, too!

If you are as good as you believe yourselves to be, the Tier 1 servers have scouts that will approach your guild and offer to pay all the gem transfer costs.

The reason you are not aware is because these scouts have not approached your guild with this offer.

JQ offered PYRO 100g per member, 300g per commander, and a legendary for one of our commanders.

BG said they couldn’t match JQ, but they had a serverwide meeting to discuss it and were offering us gold to transfer.

SoR didn’t want us because queues lol.

I felt bad, because some guilds were starting to farm gold, and we had no intention of moving, so we made a video about it.

Regardless, T1 =|= skill. Many of our members and allied guild’s members have been in T1 and while there are some really cool meta shifts and strats that come from T1, it’s not the only place that skill lies. T1 has some amazing guilds; SF, Choo, VotF, Red Guard, Za Drotts, TSym, Foo, Iron, RISE, etc.

However, WM is not anywhere close to the skill level of those guilds, and even RE are better organized and run better together. To say that PYRO, EVOH, DERP, NOVA, and others didn’t wipe WM is just objectively false.

JQ has been in Tier 1… forever, I guess? But they did get transfers into and out of the server pretty steadily. Still, if by “stability” you mean where they stand in the rankings, I would say JQ and SoR belong on the list, as Rank 4 is pretty much a worst case scenario for each of those servers. Same for BG, really. TC has also been in Tier 2 for a very, very long, so I suppose they belong on the list.

But yeah, it’s really hard to predict reliably how stable any server is after they’ve taken first place in Tier 1; I mean, if this survey had been done in December or January, SoS probably would’ve made a few people’s lists! A month earlier than that, and very few people could have predicted that SBI would implode the way they did. Now that free transfers are over there is a little more stability than before, but it’s really hard to predict what’s going to happen to each server.

Anyway, I was just trying to make a point about how hard it is to predict where any NA server will be a few months from now, not about where any particular guilds are going.

Anyway, if that caused anybody in [PYRO] or anyone else on Maguuma any headaches, I apologize. I honestly didn’t see the complete derailment of that thread coming at all. From now on, I’ll be sure to use examples I can verify more easily.

Kaineng is getting stronger as the new pvers get better in wvw and more actually level up to lvl 80. Of course we always enjoyed Karaoke Nights

They use infusion slots from normal ascended gear, you’re good!

Also they will cost a combination of both laurels and badges (at a discounted laurel cost) but we’re also adding more WvW achievements to the achievement categories to make it easier for WvW players to earn their laurels doing nothing but WvW.

A combination of laurels and badges? Why does everything in this game have to be gated when it comes to ascended gear?

I have guildies who have been saving up badges for ascended, hell, I’ve been saving up badges for ascended. We’re what this measure is supposed to stop, I guess, but it’s unnecessary. The only gate that should exist is the acquisition of badges. I have a guildie who has put 2000 hours or so into WvW, and virtually nothing into PvE, and they have 13000 badges. Do they not deserve to get something out of their 13000 badges? So what if they get the gear immediately? PvE players have had this gear since November.

Even laurels are annoying to WvW-only players, because many of them (I’d say 30-40% at least) require you to do at least some PvE to complete them.

C’mon Anet, I’ve waited 6 months for ascended in WvW, and now you’re going to make me wait at least another month or two to farm laurels in order to be on the same level as players who have had this gear since November? This is just as outrageous as adding the gold cost to exotic gear in WvW, when PvE players doing dungeons MAKE gold while getting exotics, whereas we have to spend the gold we make and the badges we make?

I was excited about this update until now, too.
