You know….it’s kinda a shame that so many free to play games give such a big advantage to those with the larger RL bank accounts….

They’re exaggerating. I get most of my golems from donations. Generally everyone in my guild has at least one or two that they’ve gotten from random drops or from jumping puzzles. At any given time, I probably have 20 golems, and access to guild golems as well.

They’re incredibly effective weapons, probably the best siege if utilized correctly, and guild golems are only slightly more expensive than rams, so there’s really no downside to them.

Now this is the kind of thread Maguuma likes…

Honestly, though, how are the open field fights from YB, Dragonbrand? Are they anything close to FA’s? If so, I can’t wait. I know that YB seems to dominate NA primetime, and now that Mag has lost its fairweather players, we’ll probably get stomped then, too, but I just want good fights.

I joined the jump puzzle in the EB with a CD group.
Stormguys were there, some times our group caused skirmishes here and there, but by the time we got to the dark room, we all set aside our differences.
My group climbed to the top of the animal cage (or whatever it’s called) and suddenly we were ambushed by the Mag waiting for us.
My group was wiped out, I dunno what happened to the Stormbuffs, and I found that the Mag simply camped on top to pick out anyone who climbed up.

I know it’s a competition, but not cool, guys.

What’s wrong with PvP in a PvP zone?

So what about badges of honor? Weren’t we supposed to be getting ascended gear and new skins?

Please tell that to the nice Maguuma folks who felt it was hilarious to Knockback me out of the jumping puzzle entrance immediately after I jumped in and was on the ground.

I understand the chest having blueprints means it’s valuable to enemies as well as your team, so I don’t cry foul very loudly. Except when someone says “we’re angels” and your server has their share of . . . mmm, not-nice . . . behavior.

Like any other server, really. Mind you, I’ve been having a blast dying a lot in WvW so far on this matchup. Sometimes even CD gets a turn killing me along with yaks I’m escorting

Oh, that’s just CAMP. They camp jps. I don’t think anyone should complain about pvp in a pvp zone, jp or not.

Maguuma has been using this for over a month now… it’s pretty OP, but takes a lot of planning to pull off.

I’d like to see if get nerfed, but not completely removed. I like having warriors as siege specialists instead of just front line troops. Conditions are a bonus, too.

Despite this matchup being the mother of all coverage imbalances, I’m having fun. I’ve been fighting outmanned when I play and though it’s annoying it’s not at painful as it used to be.

I don’t hate the people, just the fact that our server is backwards and has no population during what should be the prime time.

If you don’t have a strong attachment to your server, playing on one that coincides with your play time might be best.

The few good commanders we have gave up on this match already. Now we just have one that shouts random lines from 300 in all caps.

Hehe, it is very heartbreaking when your own garrison on your own borderlands is taken. You take the outer wall down, call for reinforcements only to see “TIME FOR A SUICIDE RUN” from your fellow “commander” to the lower right supply camp. Meanwhile the entire map is green so that supply camp will just about do nothing for us. Eventually the newer commanders will either learn and adapt from their PvE perspective, or just get bored, its a matter of time. I personally have not given up but its hard to command a zerg and a commander at the same time. :P

Shouldn’t be able to buy commander unless you have a certain time played in WvW. Having a blue mark for your name means nothing if people are just going to end up hating following you into completely bad ideas over and over.

There’s a few I enjoy following, a few that I will follow if no one else is around and then there are some that I would rather run solo then listen to them lol.

You know they shouldn’t be commander when they are getting constant arguments about their strategy in chat multiple times. Or when they are running around naked anytime you run past them because they have got them self killed that many times and cant afford to repair or are to lazy to run back. Or if they lay there dead in the same spot for 10 minutes while the rest of the team tries to take the objective because thats where his ping is.

Everyone starts out bad. You should be upset at the veteran commanders not showing up or helping the new commanders.

Yes that was us. And the main hammer was that of our GM and commander on the map. My Hammer warrior is only lvl 77 and I don’t break him out when we are running as a guild grp yet. But I did insert my double dagger ele into the mix some =)

We don’t get a chance to run as a guild grp as much as we would like due to all the time zone issues.

A lot of us have been here since the T1 days including our GMs and the way of the hammer (and other tactics) are well know to them…..so to answer someone else assertion we learned it from our GvG with PYRO would be incorrect.

Not sure if there have been others I was not a part of but the one I did was just a few of us put together at the last minute with no game plan and the wrong classes to really complement each other (no mesmer for one thing) so was not really a good indication of what we can do.

Last night was probably a better one. Was lots of fun and the skill and tactics on both sides where top notch IMO.

All of SORs WvW community should move to JQ to fill in our NA afternoon/night time coverage gap, or team up with kaineng somehow to create a third tier 1 server.

Because the way your post is written, particularly with that single bold statement and the fact it is in a match-up thread, it seems to indicate that everything in this matchup boils down to population imbalance. Paralda provided an example where that was from his perspective not the case. (mag was outmanned and still taking keeps) Of course, the score doesn’t matter, and people are demoralized by being beat up on and the score being a blow out. But, in the end, as long as population is what you talk about, you miss out on some amazing fun, and some great opportunities to improve your play.

My point was that complaining about population imbalance completely ignores actually improving at the game. If you mask all of your issues under one banner, you refuse to take responsibility for any shortfalls.

There is clearly a population issue, and we shouldn’t be in this Tier. However, that doesn’t invalidate any other points. At this time, population is not really going to change, so you might want to focus on things you can actually improve.

I’m not going to claim that we’re winning solely because of skill, because population is definitely a huge factor here, but if you lose two keeps to an outmanned group, then there are more problems than just population.

20 people is pretty much SBI’s primetime force. Maybe you were outmanned by CD? They were hitting west keep and NW tower with separate groups in SBI borderland last night, about 15-20 each.

Nah… saw at least 40 SBI fighting CD near their west keep… which is fine, if we’d just ninja’d one keep and didn’t hold it… but we took two and held them for over an over, eventually just hopping to a different map.
