The trait Fleet of Foot can be enabled with 20 points in Acrobatics trait line. It removes cripple and weakness upon dodging. It’s an invaluable ability to have when running from mobs and zergs in WvW. I use it all the time when roaming eternal battlegrounds.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fleet_of_Foot
This trait works wonders. However…there are times when it just absolutely fails. I think it’s bugged to some degree or wrongly worded. There are many times where I have cripple, weakness or both and the trait fails to remove it when I dodge.
Has anybody experience this? I suspect the trait either only activates when you actually evade an enemy attack, is bugged to a degree that it just doesn’t work at random times or is bugged and fails to activate when you have both weakness and cripple at the same time.
I will do some testing tomorrow. In the meantime I ask any fellow thieves if they have experienced the trait not working when it’s supposed to.
Thanks.
The lag is absolutely unacceptable. Until you guys at Anet manage to optimize the game or your servers or whatever, the max amount of players on any map must be lowered.
As of now, this extreme lag only benefits the zerg. WvW is not fun at all with this lag, its extremely frustrating.
They took out Planks in WvW
:(
Silver Doubloons was a pretty good controlled market. Some guy buys out the makret every once in awhile and they can go up to 55 silver each. Its pretty good but somewhat risky. I’ve made plenty of gold off that buying at 30 silver and selling at 48 silver. Its much more competitive now since people are starting to catch on so it’s not as profitable anymore.
It would be nice if 20+ people within a certain close distance of each other (zerg) would automatically get a Debuff: -75% Swiftness Duration. and a Buff: +75% Stability Duration. Similar to outmanned buff but it’s a special effect for zergs.
I like the arrow cart damage buff.
It forces the big mindless zerg to get up on their feet and actually use some strategy to avoid being killed by the arrow cart. Arrow cart is now a viable defense.
I play thief so going back to 3 second reveal helps. Confusion is nerfed so no more mesmer diversity. I used to have a hard time with confusion mesmers but now they’re easy.
The most thing that has effected me (not mentioned in patch notes) was the removal of the level 10 Plank consumable in WvW. Seriously, with that removed I will never have the amount of fun in this game anymore. Oh well. I’ll upload a video of the insane amount of joy the Plank brought me.
That’s a lot of gold I could use. You mind answering how long it took you to make all this?
Yes I’d always imagine a Colosseum for 1v1 duels and spectators. When a combatant goes down in the 1v1 the crowd would vote thumbs down or thumbs up (finish him! or let him live another day!) and the winner could choose what he want but gets more points if he follows the crowd.
Running naked in any open world PvP expecting people not to attack is just plain stupidity.
Also, if people really felt the need not to attack naked people then I’d just scout all day naked.
No no no! If they make blueprints exchangeable by conventional methods, I won’t be able to get a cut of the loot when guilds do their mesmer portal siege donations in the jumping puzzle. Seriously though, I hate it when normal people have to do the jp for their treasure only to be mobbed by a bunch of freeloaders who didn’t bother doing the jp and took a portal. If a guild wants their blueprints and treasure they should do the jp together fair and square. Mesmer portals in the jumping puzzle is bs.
Yeah I always wondered how effective 10 thieves with Dagger Storm in a zerg would be.
Condition is better for pvp. It’s obvious condition damage is not very efficient in pve as pure DPS but it is a reliable source of sustained damage in long boss fights and is very “noob friendly”.
Most condition build are very tanky and easy to use. Heck I was a bleed warrior before switching over to DPS. Great sustained damage I tell ya! Awesome survivability too.
1. Depends on the exploit. If it’s something funny to troll people with it then I will laugh and most likely use it. If it is gameplay gamebreaking like the Sentinel Rifle one shot kill or the jump over tower walls glitch I might try it a couple of times but not do it too often. If it something that involves multiplying wealth and screwing the economy then I will stay away from it because exploits like the Godskull and Snowflake will get you perma-banned whereas gameplay exploits like wall jumping will usually be a 3 day ban if repeat offender.
2. Depends on the exploit.
3. Will usually try it out and see what it is. Watch on Youtube first.
4. Not gonna do it if its perma-ban worthy. Would leave a group if it risked my account being banned. No brainer there.
5. Sometimes.

I have always wanted to visit Kaineng in Cantha. The whole lore behind Cantha was always interesting to me, heck all of the GW1 lore is much better than GW2. However, I never played Factions back in those days, I only had Nightfall. I’d love to see Cantha remade in GW2.
Now that I think about it I might just get GW1 trilogy just for the lore and all.
There is one simple fix to this and that is to disable mesmer portals in JP. It lets people get free rides they don’t deserve and encourages camping by people who shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

They’ve had these from Box o Fun for awhile now.
Yes, Giver’s weapons work. I can stack 9 second bleeds with my p/d thief. They are amazing!
Giver pistol + Superior Sigil of Agony, Giver’s Dagger + Superior Sigil of Agony. Trait bonus. Runes of Krait, Centuar and Afflicted. Super veggie pizzas.
+126% bleed duration! Normally four second bleeds is now nine! I can go up to ten if I do more traits but its not worth the abilities I sacrifice.
I agree. Personally, I think zerging should have Diminishing Returns. The more people taking/killing an objective the less reward you get, you share the reward with the people who tagged/capped it.
Also, defending objectives should give a more significant amount of points than taking over one.
I’ve been playing WvW for a long time, I solo roam a lot taking sentries and killing yaks and contesting enemy keeps. I find it annoying that a person new to WvW can just hop on the zerg train and earn 3x the WXP I do by spamming aoes and mindlessly following a blue dorito.
This method doesn’t work anymore because when you reach the start of the dark room you can’t use Mad King’s Book or consumable torches to light the way anymore.
Yes you can, I use the back book item on my toons all the time in the dark room, they still give off light around you and I make way through room(and camp spots) using it and haven’t used torches since Oct.
Also whoever said crank up gamma that has never worked in the dark room.
Mad King’s Book still works in the dark room? I have never used it but I’ve heard from many people that it doesn’t work anymore. Also, Max Gamma used to work if you knew the dark room well enough. It used to highlight the borders of the platforms so if you already knew where to jump you can tell where you are. Max Gamma doesn’t highlight borders anymore.
To my knowledge you cannot use AOE circles while invisible so I dont know why someone mentioned that.
ANET supports JP campers.
Is that why one of the earliest patches had them block siege weapon placement in jumping puzzles?
Hm good question. I don’t think ANET wanted Siege in the JP because there were already traps you could use instead and they want to keep it that way.
Either way, the blatant nerf to Mad King’s Book as a torch in the dark room says a lot.
Jumping puzzle trolls feed on tears like yours.
It’s in WvW because it gives Blueprints.
Also, with the last update, ANET clearly wants the EB puzzle to be camped. I am not being sarcastic. Before the recent patch, people were able to go through the puzzle fully stealthed via the “Mystic Fountain” and through the dark room using either: Consumable torches or the Mad King’s Book. Unfortunately, ANET nerfed these ways of getting through the dark room and avoiding arena campers. Here’s a video demonstrating how to get past arena campers in full stealth.

Nothing unusual going on. You have your good days and your bad days.
Most of the time I will get 1 ecto. Sometimes I will go on a really bad streak and get nothing but other other days I will manage to get 15 ectos from 5 rares haha.
It’s too late
Unless some dev decides to change his/her mind about them and decide to actually take the time to balance consumables.
Ah yes, peg legs. My favorite consumable of all time. Those and Flaming effigy pieces were the best.
It’s a real shame Anet just eliminated them from WvW instead of taking the time to balance them out especially when considering all those consumables really needed was Cooldown Time.
They drop regularly for me. However, me having my crap luck I usually end up getting common dyes after identification. I haven’t gotten a 1g+ dye in forever.
I think Singet of Shadows is enough of a speed boost. Works great in the JP if you ask me.
That was great gameplay, making use of your pet skills, combo fields and all. Too bad you were outnumbered most of the time.
Bads will always complain about stealth.
I’m sorry but if you have a full blown zerg and you are unable to kill one thief you’ve got problems. Anyone who takes the time to learn thief and it’s ways and weaknesses can easily counter it. Stop acting like a baby because you are unable to kill a lone thief with your zerg’s autoattack.
People make it seem like “omg this thief is killing our whole zerg one by one and capping our objectives, OP OP OP” That is not the case at all. Thieves aren’t even a top tier class in sPVP.
The typical thief has very low defense and health pool. It only takes a slight amount of coordination and even less if you have a zerg to completely shut down a thief.

Swimming on land!
I don’t think it would be a problem. By monetizing your videos you are just displaying ads before the video starts, right?
I have four lvl 80 characters.
Mesmer, Warrior, Thief and Ranger. I’ve got a Engineer that I just got bored with at lvl 30. Engie takes too much effort to play and yields less reward. Why bother taking time to setup turrets that do little damage and will die in a couple hits when you can just 100b.
It works and it stacks with omnom.
Was running COF the other day and I got 16s (from the normal 10s) from normal bosses. Also, Kohler and Spider Queen always gave a base of 10 silver.
Got around 25s from the last boss.
Not bugged at all. You guys are thinking you should be getting the “final boss” amount of gold from normal bosses. That is all.
(edited by Phoenixfudge.5290)
Cantha, Cantha and did I mention….. Cantha?
Also, Katanas.
Devs and mods won’t do much about hackers.
I reported dozens of speed hackers in WvW and they still play today. My friends even have video proof and everything. It’s ridiculous.
Stealth is fine as it is in WvW. If a thief or mes is constantly in stealth than they can’t do much do help the team cap objectives etc.
I dont know why everyone is whining about it so much. If you’re getting ganked by one trick ponies thieves, it’s your fault. Stop blaming the game.
In the meanwhile, Anet could temporarily nerf stealth time by a second on each skill in order to cancel out the culling effect until they fix it.
How is this worth their time to implement. It’s a few silver a day if that to repair…
Ha. “a few silver” easily amasses to gold if you REALLY play WvW. Even as a p/d condition thief with amazing survivability I still have to pay this unnecessary fee. I imagine it’s a lot worse for other classes such as warrior.
I find it funny how people call WoW a broken kitten game (which it is), and then say anet should make gw more like wow. Hmmmm
I thought wow did a good job with stealth though. They didn’t have permastealthed killing enemies before the enemies could ever defend themselves.
Excuse me? WoW had stunlocking.
Stop trolling, please.
not trolling. I was addressing stealth, not other things. stop the personal attacks please.
That wasn’t a personal attack, I was pointing out that you’re trolling when you say stealth was fine in wow. You had guaranteed kills on people from stealth, unless they had a stunbreaker.
That’s not a problem with stealth. That’s an issue with stun.
Well then, if a thief kills you with Basilisk Venom -> C&D -> Steal -> Backstab combo before you even see him that’s not a stealth problem, since you can get out of it using a stun breaker. Sounds like issue with stun, right?
They didn’t have permastealth there
Apart from the whole being able to stay in stealth permanently.
There is a big difference between staying in stealth permanently, and having the appearance of permanent stealth while still being able to fully function in attack. The problem with thieves in GW2 WvW is they can take full action against you while not being rendered on the screen.
It would seem that culling is the problem then, not stealth. Luckily, Anet has said culling will be removed completely from WvW.
In other games with perma stealth you can see the thief/rogue as soon as they take their first action.
In GW2 you can see the thief as soon as he does direct damage. In large fights culling might be involved, but that has nothing to do with thieves themselves.
Nope, that’s not true. C&D for one, culling for another. Other classes can’t use culling to remain stealthed as thieves do. So it has plenty to do with thieves.
Culling is not stealth, stop pretending they’re the same thing. And C&D? From stealth? You’d get the revealed debuff. Other classes are subject to culling the same as thieves.
Seriously, stop talking nonsense.
Not stealth, but thieves get the most advantage from it because they can bridge their stealth downtimes with culling to get permastealth. As many of us have proven, the revealed “debuff” actually doesn’t work in wvwvw.
Thieves have bragged about how they can spam c&d and remain stealthed. Stop talking nonsense.
Still not a culling issue, I guarantee that even if you removed all culling I could chain CnD so I could have pseudo permastealth. All it takes is a nooby zerg and some good timing skills. L2P issue here. All you have to to is not get hit by CnD, I have taken out many p/d condition thieves simply by avoiding their CnD.
Oh and debuff does work, if It didn’t work then you’d be dying and they’d be stealthing the entire time. Debuff works because they are attacking you and cannot go back into stealth for awhile after the attacks. Many of the times my enemies were able to stay alive in a 1v3 was because of debuff and zerg rezzing.
When can we expect this feature? It is badly needed especially for team red and blue. WvW is a money sink. Armor repairs are annoying. One easy way to make us WvW’ers happy is letting us repair our armor with Badges of Honor.
I am seeing far too many people get a free ride and get valuable items and siege that they shouldn’t have gotten. Portal makes the jumping puzzle in eternal battlegrounds pointless. It also encourages mass camping by people who wouldn’t have gotten there in the first place if it wasn’t for this crutch.
I have a question for the devs, is portal in JP working as intended?
First all of let me say that Confusion is the most overpowered condition, it is worse than being stunned. You cannot do anything about it as any action EVEN DODGING will affect you.
But what makes it REALLY overpowered?
The fact that you cannot break autoattack whatsoever, even if you are not targeting anything. I find this to be complete BS as my character keeps shooting the pistol when I have already de-targeted the enemy and even faced the opposite direction. My character will keep on shooting and killing himself, is this really fair?
Anet devs, are you planning on fixing this?
(edited by Phoenixfudge.5290)
Actually, another thing that Anet could do that would make me happy is enable people in Mystic Fountain stealth mode to pickup the torches before the dark room. It’s not like you can easymode stealth through the whole puzzle, you’re racing against time before the stealth runs out. I usually only have 30 seconds left before reaching the last fountain. There is almost no room for mistakes when you’re trying to run through with 100% stealth.
Yeah, its kinda lame how they made all these changes to make it super camper friendly. The only thing that could make me happy now is if they disabled mesmer portals in the JP.
I miss my peg legs so much. I could just whack all the campers off all day really. Today I went up there and ran past campers, I had to spam cnd off my attackers it was quite a struggle. I finally got past em and got my treasure. I had to watch a bunch of free loaders go through portal and couldn’t do anything to stop it. I had to wait until they ported a necro up and steal his fear skill and finally rid the campers. Thieves get no good CC skills!
Darn, they disabled my consumables torches too. Its unfortunate we can’t blaze through the campers anymore, what’s the point of even having the Mystic Fountain stealth if you’re just going to be stopped at the dark cave?
Oh well. I’ll just continue the old way again because anet hasn’t fully fixed the pit shortcut thank goodness. THAT is the place where people love to camp.
EDIT: looks like anet actually finally fixed that shortcut completely by altering the terrain, clever, it actually confused me for a bit. However I happened to stumble across another short cut almost as good as the one they patched
(edited by Phoenixfudge.5290)
The video looked pretty balanced to me, all it took was one blowback CC and the backstab thief got bursted down like nothing. He only had one stun breaker skill with a long CD. Also, notice that he targeted a guardian at one point and couldn’t really touch him.
(edited by Phoenixfudge.5290)
Okay, an extra 1.5 seconds of stealth TOPS. Anet fixed it for the most part in small scale fights with the new rendering system. I personally don’t have any problems dealing with thieves and their stealth. Backstsab thieves are one trick ponies and are easy to counter even if you aren’t bunker. Stop playing glass cannon yourself and equip some stun breakers instead of all out offense.
You guys are still going to complain about stealth after they fix culling. Culling is just now used as an excuse for bad players who don’t have enough experience dealing with thieves.
Culling is barely even a problem in small scale fights yet people continue to whine about it cause they are bad. Sorry kid, I suggest you roll a thief and learn how to properly counter them instead of whining on the forums.
There are plenty of people to do dungeons with on SoR. Also, you don’t have to be on the same server to play dungeons with others. Have you ever used gw2lfg.com ? It’s a great site to group up for dungeons.
