I usually score in the 400s… which, frankly, is enough for me.
Um… what?
No, I’m pretty sure I just crafted a coat with toughness primary, healing secondary. A level 65 coat.
Just experimented with a level 65 giver recipe… and it produces armor that is strictly inferior to all the other 65 crafted rares – it has only one minor stat, so that’s 46 less points.
Alot more forgiving than the Clocktower but fun
. The scenery is amazingly good.
Aye. A nice reward, to boot.
Gauntlets/claws or something.
Would fit nicely into several classes thematically.
Whips. Whips! WHIPS!
Make it a one-hander and you can dual-wield whips if you want.
now THIS is a good idea! would love whips.
as far as that other guys suggestion on two one handed crossbows, pistols are fine so long as they increase the speed so they shoot faster then a rifle does.
Dual whip for ele? I kid. They need a different 2h imo.
A frying pan
. . . that throws bacon.>_>
Yes please
Woks. (And a merchant named Akiko)
(edited by Polaritie.4851)
TWO HANDED SHIELDS.
also nunchucks. or bare hands combat
I love this idea! Gives a whole new meaning to a “bunker build”
)
also, I want something like a sickle on a chain. idk what weapon that is tho
kusari-gama, iirc (for the Japanese version).
I’d love whips (for… ranger, thief, mesmer, and ele… but ele will get one new weapon at most, I’’d bet on that).
A piercing-type sword. (Rapiers, foils, etc.)
Crossbows are unlikely imo.
Two-handed axes possibly. (Just for kicks, give this to ele)
Some form of polearm is a given I think. (Hopefully slashing, as spears underwater poke)
I’d be willing to bet my gold that the chests will be unique from the blc just like the consortium chests. There was way too much of an uproar with the blc and lost shores consortium chests were ANet attempting to correct an upset community. If you look at the consortium chests they took a lot of community feedback (for example including at least one new skin in every chest, with a small chance at a rarer item).
I wouldn’t be surprised if they never did the hallowen type chests again to be honest.
But BLC makes it more available to players not using the gem store. (I know, gold>gems, but that has gotten crazy high compared to Halloween)
Edit: Not that they can’t do both, or even more.
(edited by Polaritie.4851)
I’m guessing the items will be in BLC – there’s little reason for it not to be one way of getting them.
I’ve been saving all my keys this last month just in case.
No, you’re completely, wildly off on the meaning of theorem.
That said, I really hope this isn’t the cipher I’m thinking of.
Tsk. Not enough length for frequency analysis.
Also, you’re horribly misusing the word theorem.
Attended, looted x2, mail chest (Which is great, as I recently got a third 80).
Depends on the run, really.
Skipping mobs in TA, for instance, can save kittenloads of time.
Here’s the definition of flanking if that’s what you mean:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Flanking
But you obviously won’t have 100% uptime on this 10% damage increase. However, anytime you’re using the short bow, you’ll want to try to flank as much as possible. This just rewards you even more.
If you don’t have flanking up, you’re either in an odd case (can’t get to boss side/rear) or you’re being attacked by the boss, in which case… you should be focused on not dying first.
I almost always do the pulls when I run dungeons since I run with a close group of friends and it does make it a bit tougher to flank at times since I often start with aggro, but even in those cases, I can still get to where I can do a good bit of damage while flanking. If I can’t flank my target, then I’ll at least flank another target that I’m shooting through (piercing arrows ftw).
Point still stands – flanking is usually off when dps is not your main focus, and easy to get when it is.

A mouse with a cup of hot cocoa.
A demo- HORROR mouse.
Halfway into Nov, it spikes hard, and doesn’t recover much.
I can’t help but think something’s off in their algorithms.
With conditions, of course.
1 – The loot is generated at the highest level they’ve reached
2 – They still suffer agony, etc.
3 – Clearing counts for a single increase in rank (i.e. being at 5 and clearing on 7 will let you play 6)
This will help parties form (at least along people who trust each other) and help people progress instead of having to always find exact matches to progress.
Ooh… that gives me a similar idea. Starting at 0/20/10/0/20 to get all the initiative restoration I can. Not sure what to take next, can decide later (It’s only a 65 char atm)
(edited by Polaritie.4851)
Order of whispers looks ok but a little too much like a skirt …
I do like the TA armour, shame no one on my server is running the dungeon :-(
Yeah, Order of Whispers is a nice set. There is a real lack of sexy medium armor. Human T3, Whispers, TA, and… uh… the named stuff.
Did it occur to anyone else that Anet didn’t even do anything regarding precursors, but merely set it to always drop 2 exotics?
That right there is a HUGE part of the rarity of precursors – you have to get a weapon, that is exotic, and then it has to be a precursor. By setting most of it in stone, the effective drop rate is increased.
I sincerely doubt anything was done specifically about one item type. But when hundreds of exotics are dropped, there are going to be a couple precursors in there.
I’d only care if they were actually fractals.
I have a feeling the high cost of getting more bank space is probably why it happens the way it does. But I guess maybe if they figured they could make more with transmutation rocks or something.
I already have a second tab JUST to store things like siege equipment (soulbound, so different chars=different stacks), dungeon tokens (max stack is only 250), etc.
It would be nice to have the free storage for them.
I suspect it’s that agony sources have a magnitude, and the resulting damage is based on that minus your agony resist.
Constant CC from Risen\Inquest in Orr is frustrating.
I do wish they would give mobs cooldowns. I’m sure it would be fun to be able to spam abilities (for a very short time), but there is always a visceral there-is-something-wrong-here response when you encounter an inquest that is able to keep you in permanent CC. It’s the kind of “difficulty” that betrays a lack of creative thought.
I will say I’ve seen worse in games, but those were a different breed (Dungeon crawlers, with enemies who will happily mass-sleep your party and then annihilate you). In general, I think stun breakers should be more of a PvP and boss fight (Read: Jade Maw) tool than for ordinary pve grunts.
Don’t you get a free ascended ring on clearing rank 10 that has 5 agony resist?
I like the idea of being able to use the marketplace remotely. Add on crafting and other inventory management too and it’d be nice. (Possibly require the char to have logged out in a town, or pay a small fee to warp char to town, equivalent to rough waypoint cost)
Yeah… I can do AC EX just fine on a level 40, as long as my gear is up to date. (As in, spend a couple silver on updated weapons before going in)
Besides, AC is a joke. The most important thing to know is the tell for the captain’s pull.
The only thing that needs ‘changed’ at all is that the rendering issues need fixed.
^This. Thieves are fine, maybe a little OP but in most games stealth classes are harder to catch for a reason. We get the rendering issue set and I suspect there will be less QQ about theives.
The OP isn’t complaining about rendering though. He’s QQing about x/D builds and/or a D/P build that if traited for perma stealth does terrible damage and is only good at killing uplevled or bads and trolling supply camps.
Basically this. Sitting on the camp with 10 people, one thief blocks the capture for twenty minutes. We killed a number of Dolyaks, the group that came to try and push us off (twice), but we couldn’t get the capture bar past 1/5 because a single thief was able to permastealth and line of sight around buildings until the group finally gave up. It’s beyond stupid. The capture circle is large enough that you can’t smoke the thief out with AoEs, and any group of enough size to not get pushed off easy has so many targets for Cloak and Dagger that the thief doesn’t get caught. Even landing stuns isn’t enough.
It’s stupid how long the right build can hide and block captures, or harass siege.
At the very least, don’t let stealthed players count as enemies in the circle.
The moral of the story is good players don’t condition-build.
Was the same way before launch.
Go ahead and make one. Play a Mantra Mesmer. Play a Signet Ranger. For most of the game, you’ll be fine, cuz the game’s just not that dependent on dps. Your choice.
But it’s absurd to complain about your choice. Cuz you’re the one wot made it.
Signet ranger with or without the trait that applies signet actives to you as well?
More on topic – yes, condition damage is very bad in world events. In a small group or solo it’s fine (if you hit max bleeds solo… well, why didn’t it already die?). In WvW, there’s a ton of condition removal, yes… (And not nearly enough boon stripping in people’s builds – I hate seeing Guardians with 7+ boons)
(edited by Polaritie.4851)
Lol, it’s kitten near impossible to acquire exotic gear with WvW badges. I can’t imagine the nightmare that it would be to obtain ascended gear with WvW badges.
I take it your server doesn’t organize portal chains through the EB jumping puzzle? That’s an easy 20 badges/char in a few minutes each day. The drop rate of badges from enemy players should be higher, but it’s far from a nightmare to collect enough for a set of weapons.
Where is it stated the WVW is gear based? Since when was it gear based? Who’s going to force you to get ascended items?
That’s right, no one.
lol. who said pve was gear based? show me? if you don’t think gear makes a difference in wvwvw, you probably never go to wvwvw.
Gear doesn’t make a difference on remotely the scale that builds and strategy do. Using a portal to drop twenty people on the enemy’s siege emplacement all at once doesn’t rely on gear (And is very hard to get a zerg to defend against, too – they’ll all be up at the walls fighting or something). Well placed projectile counters of all forms don’t rely on stats.
I can WvW fine with a level 45 thief in masterwork – there’s tons of things that stats don’t matter for. (Throwing out AoE weakness, for instance, will tip a battle heavily without giving a kitten if you’re damaging people)
The amount gear matters is inversely proportional to the number of people fighting.
I believe a mesmer’s portal is actually core to many strategies and speedruns, and I would like to see it stay simply because it’s such a neat tactic for advanced players.
Mesmers are not masters of damage. They are support. Having such utility like this is part of what makes them such a big team player even though their damage is minimal.
Also, they’re the only class with no traits or utility skills that offer movement speed. The best they have is 50% swiftness uptime from focus 4… which of course gets in the way of using other weapon combinations. They’re the slowest class when it comes to getting from point A to point B. On the other hand, they’re the fastest at getting back to point A.
You can count the number of skills that mesmers can make real use of in a siege on one hand. (Portal, Feedback, Focus 4, and Greatsword 4 are far more useful than almost anything else – Focus 5 isn’t bad if you have the reflect trait, but it’s nowhere near as good as 4 or Feedback at it)
Why not cap the scaling?
Guardians & Warriors would probably be the most wanted.
Elementalist are the least wanted. If you check the Elementalist forums you’ll see stories of groups kicking them out because they are Elementalists. The issue, which some of the players in that forum won’t admit to, is the fact that Elementalist are all the glass without any of the cannon. For what little survivability they have, their DPS is pathetic.
What the hell are you building to have neither survivability or DPS?
Most Played: Ranger with Juvenile Brown Bear
Non-bot, lol.
Clearly, we need to bring an army of players with knockback skills, and go nuts.
Bonus points for elementalists using Tornado.
It’s annoying when there’s a pile of corpses making the boss stronger that refuse to rez, and even more so on timed events.
My biggest complaint is how some dungeons just throw hordes of elites at you, which takes forever to slog through, even when they pose minimal threat (Read: Sorrow’s Embrace). A general reduction of the HP of elites would be nice. In general, I’d say their health should be inversely proportional to how many there are.
And of course, bosses should not be simply damage sponges. That’s stupid.
So this guy popped out once every few seconds…in the same spot…hit your siege…and you all just sat there and watched it die slowly? I don’t understand. Cloak and dagger doesn’t even do that much damage. It would’ve taken him at least 15-20 hits (over a minute) of un invising and c&d’ing the siege to take it out. If you just autoattacked near it you would’ve killed him in five seconds. I don’t understand
The moment the guy popped, we had everyone go at him, but he just restealthed before that. Remember, he doesn’t show visible until well after actually unstealthing.
Staff is slow but safe. At level 40 it gets significantly stronger with Illusionary Elasticity.
Shatters are your best source of AoE most of the time – your utility skills are 100% utility, 0% damage… but go a long ways in keeping clones out. (Mirror Images, Decoy)
Was just in FA borderlands working on retaking Garrison. Then one thief came out and single-handedly killed all our siege in the middle of the group. God that was so stupid.
What’s that? A stealth class that’s actually using its stealth abilities to productively help his/her team in a pvp setting?
Because a person should totally be able to be invisible permanently.
I just saw a thief go in solo against like 10 people guarding siege. The siege went down completely and the thief just waltzed out.
Between culling, lag on reveal, asset loading, etc. the revealed debuff that’s supposed to limit thief shenanigans is basically worthless. It needs to be lengthened to account for how long it takes thieves to actually become visible in WvW.
My enjoyment depends greatly on what class I’m using.
Before they fixed it, Thief was crazy fun, because Nine-Tailed Strike was insanely OP.
Mesmer is solid, with trident clones throwing confusion everywhere (one target… basically perma 6+ stacks with three out, which… is trivial)
This is why I love the Norns. For them, the mere existence of something that’s a decent fight is a compelling reason to fight it.
From their perspective, “Want to go kill a god?” is extremely persuasive.
Hilarious, and would make people rage.
RAINBOW skellies.
Yes. My only clear, someone else jumped in with me.
Human Ele, 61
No speed boosts.
