Please keep this thread on topic. Has anyone noticed improved loot around the world lately? I may have noticed a difference in dungeon but that’s all I’ve been doing for the past week, as “out in the world PvE” seems to be very unrewarding.
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to inform you that your concerns have been noticed and forwarded to the team. Please, keep your feedback and opinions coming, anything you can provide us is welcome.
Thanks for your understanding
Thank you for inviting us to submit feedback, Moderators.
One of the feedback I would like to leave is to improve communications with your players, especially in large threads such as the one at
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Change-in-loot-parameters-or-a-bug-Merged/
Please don’t delete this message as “off topic” like my earlier message, this is fully on topic as far as communication goes, and it is a feedback, as the moderators asked for.

Well, it isnt very comforting that Mr Whiteside can take time to communicate about communicating but we can’t get ANYthing about this issue which has been going on since mid-November.
I don’t know what else we have to do to at least get a response about this problem. I am not wanting another AMA. I am still waiting for further information which the last one seemed to imply would be forthcoming.
We’ve gotten a response that they are listening and that that there is an AMA on the way. I am confident that It is quite expected by them by now that half the AMA will be about loot.
There is doubtfully any way for them to dodge a question like this. I think we can rest assured that there will me more light on this issue soon.
The problem is that anyone who’s not a “hardcore gamer” or has never played enough, or started the game after the loot nerf will never know about this.
So if they keep ignoring it, eventually we’ll shut up, and the new players will never know how it used to be, and will just consider the low drops as “normal”.
Don’t let this thread die, the info needs to be known and we want to know!
Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback. I am currently out of the office and return in the New Year, at which time i intend to do another Q and A with the community. In the interim rest assured that we constantly look at the forums, evaluate feedback, discuss opinions and work toward many of the issues and suggestions communicated therein. We very much appreciate both your feedback and support, as it is integral to the evolution of the game and our relationship with you all as a community of people that care very much about Guild Wars 2.
I am looking forward to getting the chance to connect with you all again soon. Until then i hope you are enjoying the Wintersday Celebrations and the holiday season in general.
Chris
Thanks, Chris. Can I suggest that you encourage an arenanet employee to post some updates on this thread:

Well then I’ve been experiencing dungeon-quality loot since before and after the november patch, and I can tell you for a fact that there was a difference after november (lower), and there is a difference now (seems higher).
But it’s still not very good. There should be a guaranteed rare or exotic at the end of a dungeon.
You can do AC story mode at level 30, and AC explorable at level 35. Scaling makes it that you’ll have better stats than a level 80, but you won’t have the higher trait bonuses.
Whatever, you can still do it. I remember my first AC, it was so tough, I died so much, it was horrible. I think I even ragequit. Now after having done it over 30 times on each path, it’s pretty much muscle memory. You don’t even think about it anymore.
From Nov 15th notes:
“The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.”
However, I have not witnessed this change being included in the game. Champions barely drop loot and the drop rate for rates and exotics seems to have been lowered, not increased?
Any idea about this? a known bug?
This was totally solved back in november, cant you tell?

Fake patch notes. Get used to it, it’s not gonna get any better.
Known issue. Cut your loss, exit dungeon and try again.
Since the dreaded no-loot-patch, I hadn’t gotten anything notable in weeks. But suddenly, since lsat week, I’m consistently getting rares, and I’ve actually gotten 2-3 exotics off chests in dungeons. In a 4 hours gw2 night, I make off with 2 rares, and the still rare exotic, but at least I found some.
It just “came back” suddenly…
There should be a subscription based GW2 package where they strip off the DR and let you play the game freely.
The problem with chests is that if they’re buffed, bots will just farm chests…
He was exploiting the snowflake exploit to make hundreds of ectos. nothing to see here, move along.
Tl;Dr – should diminished returns take effect on dungeons even if you are grinding different paths, not just one?
DR should only affect the first run of the path daily
120 tokens is too little. 2 dungeon runs shouldn’t give you a charged lodestone.
Also random lodestone from AC? yeah right… that’ll drop the price of all lodestones by a massive amount.
I mean I want my lodestones as much as the next guy, but let’s not exaggerate on the price. Lodestones are still valuable.
Warrior or guardian.
Hi, you must be new here. Start looking over the recipes of the legendaries over at the wiki. Look over the mystic forge recipes too. It should become apparent pretty easily why some are worth more than others.
120 tokens for a lodestone is not enough. 250 is more reasonable. 120 is way too easy to get, that would make lodestones chump change.
lDeadeyesl.9156 has exactly got it.
This would have rebalanced the price of a lot of items whose prices revolve around ecto prices. Arenanet wants ectos to remain a higher priced good, and this was going to create a change in the ENTIRE game economy if this rebalance would have happened.
Think about it, all those exotics requiring 5 ectos to make, all those ascended would suddenly cost HALF of what they cost now. this would directly affect the entire game economy.
It was definitely for the best.
Well the other factor is that ascended recipes require a LOT of ectos, so you can bet that in the next few updates, lots of new recipes requiring lots of ectos will be available. It was nice to stock up on cheap ectos while the price was lower. It’s not necessarily about selling them back as it is getting cheaper ectos for your own forging
No, exploits need to be fixed asap.
Well you could have made money today with the new ecto recipe. I guess that’s how we make money ingame, play the market and take advantage of opportunities.
That’s because it’s quite impossible for nearly all groups other than a select few.
:)
But you only get 5 tries…
Everytime I see patch notes, I cringe.
I need patch notes so I know what to be angry about.
And 5% of that is 475 gold. Did someone really spend 475 gold to list that?
Or is it a hacker who’s figured out how to send data to the trading post?
Why don’t you fix it for them instead, since you can do everything?
Wow, gambling is pretty addictive isn’t it?
Oh, what was changed is an event that people used to bug and spawn unlimited sparks.
Nothing to see here, folks. Just people complaining that their exploit is gone.
No, but I did get a few charged londestones from CoE last week.
Nothing was changed at the sparks in malchor leap.
I just hunted them for half an hour.
FaRectification, you’re so condescending. You speak as if you thought you could make a better game than gw2, you also believe you have the answer to every problem in the game.
Noticed a difference since last patch, been getting yellows regularly from doing dungeons and such…
it’s a cool effect, but a bit too loud
Ok then 3 warriors, one banner, one shout, the other whatever, and two guardians with empowering might and AH
There’s no holy trinity, there’s just guardians.
Seriously, just 5 guardians all the time.
Same, wondering where they drop from? The gifts or just regular mobs?
Just go warrior or guardian and get it over with.
Other classes are fun to play, but they don’t come close to warrior/guardian dps and versatility
Oh I loved this event!
The matrix cube key is hidden, but you can’t see it by holding down Ctrl.
Only when you approach its location, you’ll see a “Press F” message in yellow.
Check the wiki, its spawn location are documented. I did it twice and found the key in about 20 minutes with the help of the wiki.
Very, very fun event. MAke sure to coax the entire map in coming with you!
If you wanna help out your team, spec for damage and help kill stuff.
This game is all about warriors and guardians.
Did some dungeons last night, party of 3 guardians 2 warriors, we just plowed thru everything, did CoF path 1 in under 15 min, path 2 in less than 20. It was glorious.
I posted about this thread in the “live response team” post, and it quickly got deleted:
Looks like they’re starting to suppress this.
If dyes were unlocked to the account, less players would buy dyes, which means less people would buy gems and get dye pack.
Keeping dyes on a character ensures a revenue for arenanet. they won’t change it.
They got banned because they bought exotic items for 21 karma instead of 21000 karma. They bought hundreds of them and forged them.
However Arenanet decided to unban them in the end.
Speed hacks are prevalent, so are teleport hacks, “walk thru walls” hacks, and various other hacks.
According to many programmers, the game is not very well programmed to detect these hacks, so there’s no way to get detected but if you get reported.
That being said, I think it should be about time arenanet does something like an anti cheat client with the game!
Tagging while in a party works differently: Your entire group’s damage is compared against the mob to see if you TAG it. That is to say if 4 players in your party do 500 damage, but one does only 100 damage, they’ll still tag it, because as a group, you did 2100 damage.
Thanks JonPeters!
Any chance you can tell us about the formula for magic find?
That would make everyone’s day(month(year))!
Arenanet response that server population is tied to accounts registered to that server:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Server-Populations/first#post703192
It fluctuates because people switch server either very late, or very early.
This can’t be used as an argument because this is why overflow servers were made. If they are in place it shouldn’t matter how many dead accounts are on a server. Server pop should be directly related to players logged in concurrently not accounts.
This is Anets way to keep server pops balanced… it will go away…. the game is still new and the first year is always the roughest.
The overflow is map based, not server based.
You join the overflow if the map is full, not if the server’s concurrent connection has been reached.
