I luv Arah!
That was when Goku checked briefly, but he was off by a little bit :P

No it’s not worth it. Just spam click on the essences of luck so they go away.
People that buy things just to raise their magic find are hopeless dreamers ^^
Except most people don’t spend any gold, infact some even make gold when raising their magic find.
All you need to do is place cheap buy order on cheap blues and greens, and you can raise your magic find barely spending any gold, even profit from it.
You’re missing the point. Magic find is not worth the time to spend raising it, as it happens on its own from just playing, as everything that is dropped is just trash to salvage except exotics (even those are trash most of the time).
The time spent buying items, salvaging them, and spam clicking on the essences/crafting them and then spam clicking them is futile as the stat itself is just RNG.

P.S. – I’m at 195% magic find from only salvaging loot that I get, everything I get is still trash that I salvage without caring.

Yes.
Good RNG? Me?!
When I enter Arah, I’m like a black cat bumping into mirror and shattering it whilst inadvertently opening an umbrella under a ladder, thereby injuring myself and making it impossible to respond to a chain letter on Friday the 13th.
THIS is what happens when I fight Brie.
Lmao that could be fun!
Btw, Abe the noobfais had a really good idea for making the best use of FGS too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01rFSyQOqKM
Thought I’d share it as well since it made me lol at how awesome it is.
Some people say the latest content in the LS has become more interesting
This is true. I’ve watched the cutscenes in this latest LS and the majority of them are much better. There’s a lot of them that aren’t that low-grade watercolor background with 2 characters standing still and talking.
But about what you said with automatic cutscene skipping I agree that’d be a nice luxury. Unfortunately you can be certain that there’s like… just about no chance of them putting the effort needed to implement that for us.
Alphard duo – 51 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SabTPHPyKRM
Korga duo – 1:05: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKnEBHm7e74
On tuesday, ele will never be as fun again. Rip burning speed, rip FGS
Goku and I were looking to spend some time doing things on our eles we would never have the chance to do again, and the Korga kill was really really fast. With two warriors, we were able to do it in ~2:30-2:40 I believe (it’s on his youtube). It’s more than likely possible to get this done in under a minute but I think at that point it’d be just RNG. For this you want him to punch so that you can get an extra rush in.
The spot he’s in is actually rly dangerous because he’s basically FGS rushing you if you stay under him xD
It was a lot more difficult to set up than it looks. If you get hit at all you have to restart too, cause just about anything wrong happening = fail. He also gets a random damage/speed hack sometimes after he rushes into walls, which is always fun. So lovely seeing a gorilla charging the speed of light and hitting 200% damage for no apparent reason.
As for the alphard duo, we thought it was going to be under 50 seconds (Goku and Dub did a 50s one long ago before all the nerfs to bloodlust and stuff), but she crossed over the ring of fire and got burning at the start, so it was 51 seconds instead of 49
For more challenge: pull champion orrian warrior inside and try to kill lupi with 25 grubs…
I’ve done this before with 2 others but without the 25 grubs. It’s terrible. We could barely make it into phase 3, lol.
Seems like HotW is most certainly the least-liked dungeon among the majority of us!
People are always dying on bosses (they hit way too hard for this introduction to dungeons), no one resurrects in combat.
Introduction? This is basically the end of the game.
There is nothing higher in terms of PvE content other than dungeons and fractals, so it’s odd to see someone requesting them to be easier.
What in them is so much harder for you?
There’s no way around it, it’s always a pain in the god kitten kitten . I hate it too — we all do.
Answering title of thread.
No.
You had a rifle warrior at Mai Trin and you didn’t take a screenshot of it and mail it to me?!
WHYYY?
I always take pictures of things that horrible. Like this, for example http://puu.sh/berLK.png
You have to learn the mechanics of the dungeon. You can essentially use anything to do it, provided you know the dungeon.
www.gw2dungeons.net
You can learn more from reading there.
To learn about elementalist traits and the class itself, use this guide:

What Carter.1034 said above is good, but about EA builds…
Don’t run empowered allies unless your group is FGSing bosses in a 5-man record attempt. FGS is getting neutered, so there will be no reason to run EA anymore.
There is no other reason to run empowered allies aside from the above mentioned. Not using fast hands hinders your capacity to maintain a proper rotation in any encounter that isn’t faceroll (example: like the berserker abomination in Arah P2). If you aren’t using fast hands, you’re likely to be camping GS, which in actual practice is pretty underwhelming unless the boss(es) die fast.
You will be much better off sticking with 65003.
-.-
HELL no.
Warriors have been getting nerfed with just about every patch. There’s absolutely no reason for it to be nerfed even more. Warriors aren’t even capable of dealing the highest DPS than all other classes in optimal conditions. For soloing, they are top notch. Why is that a problem?
All classes should be capable of doing better than others in certain areas, so why is it so much of a problem for a warrior to be one of the best classes to solo with?
If you’re complaining about a warrior generating too much might with forceful greatsword, then I’m surprised why you aren’t complaining about an ele. Warrior doesn’t even come close to touching an ele’s might generating capacity. In optimal conditions in a solo setting, a warrior will not be able to sustain 25 might for longer than a second or two even if they use strength sigils, which is wasteful to say the least. It’s in fact better to not use strength sigils on warrior, resulting in their might averaging slightly lower than 20 stacks when dodging/blocks aren’t involved.
In a vacuum setting, a warrior in strength runes and no strength sigils will average roughly 16-18 stacks of might over time camping GS. Camping GS is almost always a mistake anyways, so in a practical setting where you have to take into consideration the fact that a person will realistically have to evade/block a boss’s attacks and will periodically swap to their second weapon set, their might actually drops unless they’re using sigils of battle.
An ele can PRESTACK higher than a warrior is able to sustain while in combat! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8aTckoIrxI
I don’t know why it is that there are people who are so hell bent on making warrior weak as a feather. GS is capable of dealing better damage than other weapons. So what? Why is that a problem? Hammer deals less damage but it offers weakness, cripple, a knockback, a stun. Axe deals similar damage and allows you to move while doing it. Longbow has a fire field, a blast finisher, a blind, and an immobilize. Sword has a leap, a very high damage coefficient thrust attack, a projectile that has high torment uptime and a block.
All of the weapons that a warrior has can and are used in certain situations. Just because the weapon that specializes in damage deals more damage than weapons that specialize in different things doesn’t mean it needs to be nerfed into oblivion.

All of Arah story mode is nice except for the airship and ending fight. The mouth of zhaitan I think is cool.
Rather than just allow fractal weapons to be farmed, they should be rewarded based on a great feat performed in fractals. Something like take down a boss within a time frame or perform a series of moves on a boss, or complete a certain boss fight within a time frame without anyone going down.
The skins should be rewarded based on merit not just time spent in there farming.
This is actually a cool idea.
Problem is, that sounds like it’d be too limiting with difficulty to obtain them.
I think the safest bet is to just charge a few thousand relics. 2000 per weapon seems fair.
Hope it’s helpful!
It’s not effective in WvW unless you’re only interested in ganking people or solo flipping camps and stuff like that, so keep in mind that its target audience is for PvE players that are level 80.
Try reading this guide here.
It may help, but it’s aimed mostly for level 80’s.
However, it will still prove to be helpful in many ways.
To answer your first question, yes. It’s good to make use of all types of weapons. It just so happens that in PvE, hammer and rifle are almost completely useless. Hammer is only useful in PvE if you’re trying to “mountain goat” or leap into unorthodox areas that would otherwise be nearly impossible just for the sake of exploration.
TWC basically ddoses everybody here.
Also every evening, they halve our connection speed between around 4-6 pm and 10-11 pm. We don’t know why.
A simple solution would be to not hold the boss at 1%.
Just fight her the way she was intended to be fought. Warriors and thieves are easily capable of doing it.
If the person TELEPORTED, then it was a hack. If it took several minutes to get to you from the moment they entered, then they used a ‘jumping puzzle.’ I know a few ways to jump to get to Brie from the start, no waypoints required so that’s certainly possible.
OP is either a subpar player or a troll.
Warriors have been getting nerfed for months and he’s still crying about them being too powerful. Obviously just upset because of getting defeated whilst on other professions.
Instead of trying to ruin the class, please learn how to play other ones better. Thanks.
Come to america and sign up for time warner cable signature home service and see what happens when you try doing things like that. I’d like to see how patient you’d be in a dungeon with no waypoints and 400-500 ping at best.

As for the adrenaline nerf I honestly think that it would be perfectly fine if we didn’t lose our adrenaline the moment we left combat.
That way, they wouldn’t be nerfing warriors so hard in PvE. I know that plenty of the people here are strictly PvP players but consider it from the perspective of somebody like me, who doesn’t do PvP. There’s no other viable trait when you have the option of a 15% damage modifier here.
Despite how unhappy I am with the frequent nerfs on warrior, it’s still not as terrible as what they’re doing to elementalists. Such a shame, to destroy burning speed AND burning retreat. What nimrods.
The amount of people who dislike HoTW is saddening. It’s one of the only dungeons where the bosses are not a faceroll and requires coordination to complete quickly.
’scuse me!?
Aside from Svanigandir and Ginva the butcher, everything else is just monotonous with way too much HP…
As somebody that’s solod just about all of these paths minus the underwater fights and story mode last boss, I have to say the majority of these bosses don’t have any interesting mechanics and take seconds to learn how to fight properly. Even in pugs, pretty much nothing worthy of mentioning aside from the butcher.
I’ll agree that path 2 takes some good coordination to complete quickly, particularly because the 2 quaggans + that one other annoying guy are obnoxious and because of the underwater fights, but what makes this dungeon more interesting than others? As far as I’ve seen from record videos, there isn’t much more coordination required here than many other paths to execute properly… o_O
It’s just that most people don’t care about HotW as much, at least in the dungeon speedclearing community.
Svanigandir was probably one of the most interesting fights I’ve experienced in the game and is truly an outlier in HotW and dungeons in general. I’d never expect to get that kind of fun out of HotW. I wish they would have followed this trend and released more bosses of this nature.

I am fully for buffing The Shatterer and Claw of Jormag as long as their rewards are buffed too. We need a reason to justify the organisation required to do them!
As OP and many others have stated, they’re dragons — they should not be trivial!
Hello everybody!
Lots of small modifications to make things more concise and I added a few tips/removed some things that I didn’t see as necessary to mention or go into detail about.
In particular, posts 3 (mostly) and 4 received some changes.
Post 3:
- I saw no reason to discuss the best food/nourishment for 66002 builds, as I discourage use of it for both groups and solos, so it only mentions what I recommend for 65003.
- I added information about skale venoms, as they are widely-used and super useful for FotM and I simply forgot to include them in the guide up until now. Oops…
-I changed some of the details in the section about offhand weapons:
a) Mace – there are very few circumstances in which you should be using this when soloing! The only bosses that you will benefit more so from soloing with a mace are ones like berserker abomination, which is essentially just a meatbag with lots of HP that you don’t need to dodge from very often. In almost all other cases, fighting with either a sword offhand or warhorn is probably a better idea when soloing. Mace is great for an offhand in groups on bosses, but be mindful that it’s not better DPS for you or your team if you struggle to survive and need to withdraw often!
b) Warhorn is generally the best overall offhand for a warrior, and not much has changed here other than restructuring the paragraph/shortening sentences so that I could fit what I wanted to add to mace/sword/shield’s descriptions.
c) What I have listed for sword hasn’t changed much, but I added the fact that sword’s block combined with shield’s is a great combination for warriors to skip past mobs without having to engage in combat and makes things like Arah trash skips super fun and easy.
d) Check the third post of the guide to see what I have listed for shield, or alternatively check me out on my stream sometime to see me making use of it! It’s still overall a very weak offhand in PvE for any purpose other than trash skips.
Post 4:
-Added Skale Venom to the list of useful consumables that I recommend.
I have to disagree with mace being the best choice overall.
It’s ideal against bosses in competent teams that you don’t require a block for (if you do need one, then use sword offhand), but overall warhorn is certainly better to take for trash mobs.
In many cases, it would be more beneficial to take warhorn with axe than mace, but keep in mind that to really be a good warrior you should be swapping your weapons depending on the encounter rather than keeping the same stuff equipped all of the time.
P.S. – to the OP, shield is super useful for Arah. While out of combat, you can channel a block with sword offhand and swap to shield immediately and start channeling its block before your sword’s ends, then swap immediately to warhorn during your shield’s block and you can skip trash mobs with 5-6 seconds of blocks. If you practice this, you can and will be able to skip trash without even engaging in combat most of the time.
Aside from that purpose, shield is a weak offhand in PvE overall.

Staying in a single attunement is generally foolish unless you’re using staff in PvE, in which case you’re in fire for the majority of the time.
The reason is simple; you’re basically limiting yourself to only a small fraction of your skillset. This is an ineffective way to play, so you have to make the choice and decide whether or not you want to be a good elementalist or a subpar/bad one.
Elementalists using dagger mainhand should be making sure they have high might uptime with a good rotation using all the blast finishers in their attunements (and fury if they’re using persisting flames), making use of the wonderful utility of focus (magnetic wave, obsidian flesh, swirling winds, comet, flamewall, etc), and scepter users have terrible DPS yet high burst and might stacking capabilities so they’ll certainly need to be swapping attunements frequently to make proper use of the weapon.
I’m almost tempted to change my mind on least favorite to HotW, but I have to keep reminding myself that the only path in CM I can tolerate without wanting to lose my mind is the first one.
I feel like logging out within a minute or two after starting CM P2/P3.
Ask Abe to take you on a pro SC run, I heard they were like Europe’s DnT or something
He invited me to CM the past week and I actually went. I was the only person that wasn’t on teamspeak and it was like my fourth time ever doing P2.
Felt like I was this, to say the least.

I got one in under 10, and have no use for it because I find all of the weapon skins grotesque. I’d sell it if I could!
I think this belongs in the Dungeon forums.
Welcome back to the trashcan.
it’s only a trashcan cause you’re here
OHHHHHHH http://i.imgur.com/kIBLVxQ.gif
im sry that was mean
pls dont hate me nova!
It might be now that FGS will be removed from PvE. I can’t imagine wanting to play much longer after the balance patch hits, especially on my ele, since they’re nerfing burning speed + burning retreat as well. So, any remote chance of me enjoying that dungeon is pretty much going to be non-existent soon.
As of now, it’s tolerable… not on a warrior though. As Kurr posted above me, that would be basically running on “autopilot.”
It doesn’t really matter anymore aside from WvW due to the megaservers being implemented, but prior to that Desolation was the best on EU for PvE in open world for sure. As far as WvW is concerned, Desolation also placed 2nd (tied with Baruch Bay and Riverside I guess, as all are listed for 31 points) in the last tournament too and that was in the gold league.

Yes, HotW is indeed obvious. Between the 3 explorable paths and story mode, I don’t find a single bit fun except Svanigandir.
Just to add to the Belka discussion, I have never gone out of combat before getting to the bone wall before. In fact many times I’ve had to pause and wait a few seconds before running back in because it takes that long to go ooc.
Whether or not she’s teleporting around doesn’t make it harder or easier either really, just makes it take long… and considering the encounter isn’t the least bit interesting making it go by as quick as possible is ideal.
They’re… just… joking… guys…
I suppose this game just hates me then.
I’ve spent like 4k hours total on GW2 and I think the best drop I’ve gotten on this game was an abyss dye, second to that maybe an entropy.
240 pristine relics and I’ve still never seen an ascended chest drop that’s berserker, but this is probably shared amongst many of you as well.
Best black lion chest was probably one that I got a mini scarlet from or something like that.
Took like 200 tequatl kills to get a tequatl hoard.
-_-
I like both your reasons for CoE. I especially agree with subject alpha being a cool boss. One thing that I kind of hate about the path is that the golem for no good reason is just a total kitten to eles. I don’t really like that, but it can be pretty easily avoided by just waiting until everybody else starts attacking before running in. If it doesn’t aggro on the NPC, it’s always on an ele.
The main reason I’m not as much of a fan of CoE, however, is that it feels too easy (for me at least) and requires too little of my attention/input to perform well. Without trash skips and with nothing threatening me besides subject alpha, there’s basically nothing that will hurt me besides those lasers, the icebrood wolves at the start, and I guess the little exploding golems if the person defending in P1 at the console is doing a bad job. :S
I like it’s atmosphere however and I especially agree with the colors of the place. It’d seem super dull if it were brightly-lit.
